For once, Kakashi arrive someplace to meet Gai before Gai did. He thought of waiting outside, but he didn't have a watch and didn't see any clocks around. Not knowing how early he was, he headed in to the changing room and began undressing.

Having arrived just in time to see Kakashi's back disappear through the door of the changing room, Gai thought little of it and followed, more than ready to unwind for the day.

Kakashi glanced up as Gai entered, just as he had started removing his pants. Kakashi did not stop at Gai's entrance. "Did you find anything?" he asked, since they were the only two in there right then and he'd already scanned the room for various traps.

Shaking his head Gai slumped on one of the benches, his back incidentally to the undressing Kakashi. "I think I may have spotted one. But he got away. I think he might have been headed here though." This said he gathered the fabric of his tunic in his hands and pulled it over his head, a small grunt the only hint of the discomfort brought by his twanging muscles.

"Saa, that's better than what I got. I just got that they were both here." He finished undressing as much as he intended to - leaving his mask and headband on - and grabbed two of the towels, tossing one over Gai to land in front of him. "...and a few offers to keep me warm tonight."

Raising one well-developed eyebrow Gai smirked at Kakashi's last words. "Well it would mean I get the room all to myself..." he trailed of as if considering the pro's and con's.

"I thought that, too." Kakashi said, with a slight tone of regret in his voice "...Sadly, none were my type."

Pulling the trousers and other assorted articles of clothing of Gai crumpled them and chucked them carelessly into one of the baskets. "Guess you'll just have to stay with me then" he teased

"I guess I'll have to make do, somehow." Kakashi lamented. Strangely, he noticed, Gai was his type. Kakashi preferred his men as men - strong, with some meat on them - and his women as women - soft, with lots and lots of curves. Were Gai not... Gai, under other circumstances, Kakashi would be happy to share a room and bed with the man.

Well, just went to show how much spending so much time around someone could totally kill any sexual feelings there may have been.

Kakashi set his own clothing in the baskets carefully, tying the towel around his waist. ...It was so weird, the feeling of Gai being his assigned team-mate under ANBU. It forced him to revise his usual attitude for the sake of the mission. "We'll be without our weapons, so we should stay close in the hot springs to watch each other‘s backs."

Nodding Gai agreed with Kakashi's analysis of the situation. Although neither of them relied as heavily on weapons as other shinobis might they were still in a vulnerable position. Wrapping the towel around his waist he the turned to Kakashi. "Yosh! Let's do this!"

Kakashi nodded in agreement, heading out the doors to the hot springs outside.

For as tacky as the inside of the hotel was, it became quite clear why this place was popular. The view above did not do the hot springs justice. They were beautiful, with all sorts of plant life that thrived on the heated water growing wild and tall, leaving many secluded nooks and offshoots of the pools of water. The steam in the air hung thick, and were the two of them not excellent ninja, searching in the springs would be difficult indeed.

Giving the visible parts of the area a quick once over Gai made sure that there where no dangers lurking waiting for them to let their guard down even a little. A mist-nin could do just about anything with this much steam and water around. Seeing nothing suspicious he carefully lowered himself into the hot water enjoying the way it made his skin tingle.

Kakashi stepped into the spring as well, letting out a relaxed sigh at the heated water. It took very little time for his normally spiky hair to be weighed down with the water particles, and it was soon drooping down. He could probably remove the headband, even, and still have his eye covered by his drooping hair. Still, he would rather not take that chance, and just enjoyed the heat for a few moments longer before wading out farther in the spring to search the rest of it.

Finding amusement in the way Kakashi now looked an awful lot like a wet dog Gai waded out a bit further so that he had a better view of the more secluded corners but still as within easy reach of his partner. On the first glance he couldn't identify any of the other customers as their targets but he couldn't with certainty say that they weren't them either.

Kakashi followed after, bending a little in the water so he was halfway swimming. He was careful to not get his mask wet. After all, it was white and papery and the humidity already wasn't helping much. He managed to identify a few people in the water as those they weren't after, and was happy enough with that if only to take mental note of who else was in there.

With the mist blanketing them and the warm water all around them Gai felt strangely isolated with Kakashi. As if his partner was the only other 'real' person in a world of illusions. Moving even further away from the entrance he orientated himself at the vague edge and followed it to the left.

Kakashi, too, was amazed at the illusion the mist was able to so thoroughly present, with the help of the overgrown plants. ...He could see why the couples came here after all.

Kakashi happened to glance over and see a flash of movement behind an oversized leaf and curve of the land around the pool. He waved his hand at Gai to follow, silently creeping around to identify the person or people around the bend.

Following Kakashi's directions Gai silently slid through the water until he was next to him and they could peek through the leaves to get a better view of the people that were languishing in the intimate little cove. It was indeed the man he had spotted earlier and the other fitted the description of his co-conspirator to a tee. Signalling to Kakashi that these were indeed the targets Gai moved even closer so that he would be able to hear what they were saying.

Kakashi nodded, following Gai to move in closer and listen to the conversation of the others. He slid an arm around Gai's shoulder and leaned against him. Kakashi hoped it could go without explanation that to be close enough to hear the two men, they'd be within sight and should look otherwise occupied.

Although Gai twitched slightly in surprise when he felt Kakashi‘s naked skin glide against his back he quickly caught on and wrapped his arms around his companions waist pulling him closer. Moving his face within inches of Kakashi he whispered "Can you hear them yet?"

"Yes." Kakashi responded, breathlessly. It was just barely. The two men really didn't want to be overheard. Kakashi's eyes (well, eye) was focused on the two of them, clarifying words he could not hear clearly with the movement of their lips. Another shift, Kakashi moved a hand behind Gai's head and pulled it down against his own shoulder on the opposite side, using it to block out sound from the other direction and make the voices of the two men clearer.

Bending to Kakashi's will Gai let his head rest against the pale shoulder, twisting slightly so that he could have a good look over the surrounding area to prevent anybody from sneaking up on them. One of his hands languidly rose out of the water and slowly started stroking Kakashi's spine, knowing that they would have to perform some kind of motion and not just stand there like a pair of shinobi stone statues.

Kakashi actually shivered for a moment under Gai's hands, once more surprised by 'Konoha's Blue Beast'. His fingers flexed in Gai's hair, he had not removed his hand from it's position from before. He fought down further reactions to focus on the two targets. They had, however, begun to fall silent, moving closer to one another. Kakashi cursed mentally, wondering if they had noticed they were being watched.

Noticing Kakashi's shiver Gai used his position to softly breath in his ear "What is going on?" unable as he was to actually see their targets from his point of view.

The two targets indeed moved closer together. Kakashi watched carefully, sliding his headband up, just a little, to get a better look through his Sharingan eye as well. "They're-" Kakashi stopped dead mid-sentence. It took him a moment to resume speaking. "...probably not going to be talking again anytime soon."

"Eh?" Manoeuvring Kakashi so that he could peek around his head he saw what the other had meant. The two men were involved in a heated clash of lips and their arms were busily groping places you really shouldn't grope in a public place. Not that in Gai's view any groping in any place where others were bound to see it was particularly polite.

Kakashi had quite a more liberal outlook on what was appropriate, but he still knew when it was time to look away. Sadly, looking away made him have to pay attention to where Gai's hands were. Very different circumstances indeed. "Should we go back to the room for the rest of the night?" Kakashi whispered, not removing his hands from Gai yet, in case the other ninja thought it necessary to stay and observe the two further. In which case Kakashi would have to call him a closet pervert.

Shaking his head Gai started to move them away from their position, back the way they had come until the pair was once again hidden from view. "We should wait until they are finished. That way we have a chance of getting any information they might drop afterwards and we can follow them and find out which rooms are theirs." He explained while releasing his hold on Kakashi.

Nodding, Kakashi moved a respectable distance away from Gai. "Good plan, I hadn't thought of that." Kakashi removed his headband for the time being, setting it on one of the rock outcroppings. His hair was limp enough to cover his eye just as much, and his Sharingan was at easier access if he needed it this way. ...He wondered how much time the two would take.

Sinking into the water until only his head from his nose on upwards remained above the water Gai idly listened to the passionate noises their targets were producing. Now that they no longer whispered it was a lot easier to hear them, even from this distance. Idly he wondered whether that sort of behaviour was normal in this hot spring and decided to be on the safe side and to scrub himself particularly well tonight.

Sighing, Kakashi leaned back against the rocks and ran a hand through his hair. This was not how he was planning on spending his mission OR his onsen trip. ...The noises weren't helping anything, either. He stretched his arms high above his head in an attempt to loosen the muscles there

After half an hour the noises had still not stopped and Gai was starting to grow bored. "How much longer do you think they'll be able to keep that up?" he asked Kakashi more to have something to say than for any true interest.

Kakashi rubbed his shoulder. He'd pulled the muscle a few days back but it had been giving him a little trouble still. "Depends on how often they do it." he answered, calmly.

Observing Kakashi trying to reach the shoulder he seemed to have a problem with, Gai digested his comment. "I can help you with that if you want" he offered for lack of a reply concerning their targets sexual prowess.

Kakashi sighed but nodded. "That'd be great, thanks." He moved away from the rocks and turned his back to Gai. ... Gai was one of the few people Kakashi would trust at his back.

Scooping a few hands of hot water over Kakashi's back Gai began to proficiently massage his shoulders. "What did you do it anyway? This is the first mission we've had in weeks." Finally having discovered the problem area he began kneading the skin in earnest.

Kakashi tilted his head back just a little, enjoying the blissful feeling of Gai's strong hands on his back and shoulders. "Mmmmm... I have a life other than missions, you know." Kakashi grinned behind his mask.

"A life in which you strain a muscle like this?" Gai prodded said muscle " It might be healthier to look for a different past time then." He blissfully neglected to mention the many times he had come home from training with worse injuries than a pulled muscle. Listening for the passionate noises he whispered "Sounds like they'll be done soon."

Kakashi couldn't resist asking. "...And how would you know this?"

"Well one of them just sounded like he was either tortured to death or close to having an orgasm, and the other one seems not far behind." Gai lectured feeling a blush on his face that was not caused by the hot water. Stroking his hands over Kakashi's back on last time to make sure he had subdued all the problems for the time being he nudged him. "Done."

Kakashi sighed with disappointment. "Well, let's see if we can hear anything else." The ninja returned his headband to his face to cover his Sharingan once more, moving through the water again.

Moving closer Gai once again reached out for Kakashi in preparation to continue their disguise. The heat was starting to affect him and he really hoped that the two would leave the hot spring soon.

It was easier to move to Gai's touch this time. 'It's the heat.' Kakashi told himself. 'And they probably have some kind of incense burning to help arousal. I wouldn't be surprised.' he slid his eyes over to where the targets were, seeing if they were done yet.

It seemed they had timed their entrance perfectly, just as they moved into position the second man also grunted his release before sinking bonelessly against his partner. Using their orgasm induced haze Gai stealthy slid them closer to the two make it easier to pick up on their tired murmuring. His hand easily resumed it's leisurely meandering over Kakashi's back while the other slid into his hair tilting his head so that he had a good view of the pair while Gai bowed his head to his throat to seem occupied.

Kakashi was much more prepared for Gai's hands. Sadly, their presentation was all for naught. Once the two partners recovered, they began to move away and back towards the changing room. Kakashi cursed quietly behind the mask.

Moving back towards the entrance in no unseemly haste Gai quickly followed them, having pulled away from Kakashi once they had left the pool

Kakashi went along as well, trailing the two at a respectable distance. He followed quietly along with Gai as the two ... 'partners' redressed quickly, breathless and red in the face. Whispers were exchanged. They were going to head up back to their room.

Waiting until they had left the changing room Gai quickly dragged his clothes over his still wet skin. Hurrying after them he barely saw them taking the stairs.

Kakashi pulled his own clothing on, too, getting them soaked from not waiting for them to dry. He ran after, taking the stairs by twos. Just as the two reached the top, they saw the hallway empty as one room door closed. Room 212. "...That'd be them." Kakashi said.

Nodding ,a dripping Gai then turned and made his way back to their own room. "We'll have to get in there somehow. An Aburame would be handy just about now."

Kakashi nodded in agreement. "We still have another day to get the information. ... Let's get dry." he was already working out a plan in his head.
