“Good morning, Kazuki-oneechan!” I glared at the person who dared to wake me up. Mornings just weren’t my thing. “Hinata, what do you want?” I tried to see her, squinting from the light shining through my window. Why’d she have to open the damn curtains??? “um…nee-chan, don’t you remember? Today…it’s the first day of school…!” Ok, now I couldn’t help but smile. Hinata looked about ready to burst from excitement. And it doesn’t help that I was REAAAALLY looking forward to our first day in the ninja academy. ‘school’, as Hina-chan puts it. But still….I just didn’t wanna get up.
I groaned and looked over to my alarm clock that sat on my end table. Damn! I was late!!! I jumped up to grab my clothing, shoving my little sister out the door. (can anyone please tell me who to write ‘little sis’ in Japanese?) I needed to hurry!!!
We just barely made it on time. Hinata and I had been dressed and ready to go on time, but we both had to care for our baby sister, Hanabi. (at this point in time, Hanabi is a baby) So tiring… Anyway we made it to our new classroom right before our new teacher, ‘Iruka-sensai’ started his lecture. We got a good little glare from him, before he told us to please take our seats. I shrugged. There were only two available seats left, nowhere near each other. I sighed. Hinata and I couldn’t sit together… that sucked.
I sat between two girls. One kinda surprised me. She looked a lot like… me??? You see, I have long, waist length hair, the whiteish-lavendar of a Hyuga clan member, and I wear a white kimono that went to my thighs and came with the long sleeves that meant I was unmarried, and a black obi. Ok, got the image? Now imagine me, but everywhere there is supposed to be white, there’s black instead. Black hair, black kimono, black EYES, and a white obi.
I was puzzled by this. How could someone look so much like me, and yet not be a part of my family??? Impossible! But intriguing…
At that point Iruka-sensai began his lecture. Today he was giving us some info on chakra. Hm…
Before I even realized it, I was absorbed into what sensei was saying. I’ve always had a thing for learning, especially if it had something to do with being a ninja. I guess, being the heiress of a clan makes you wanna learn how to keep it safe, maybe? Eh, whatever.
Anyway, it was amazing how much there was to know about chakra! I already knew about tenketsu, or ‘chakra points’, because of who I am. But…wow…. So much… it was startling.
My train of thought was interrupted when I heard a chuckle to my left. I turned to see the ‘look alike me’ staring at me from the corner of her eye and smiling. “you know,” she said, chuckling, “if you keep looking so awed by what sensei says, people will begin to think of you as a bookworm like me!!!” I blushed. Whoever she was, she had hit the nail straight on the head. I was a bookworm… as a matter of fact at home my bookshelf took up a whole wall in my room! Oi…
“I know,” I said, returning her smile sheepishly, “I just can’t help it!” She chuckled again. “yeah I know what you mean. Listen, my name is Nara Riiko. You don’t have to call me by my last name, just Riiko or Rii-chan is fine.” My smile widened. I think I’ve just made a friend! “my name is Hyuga Kazuki. Kazuki or Kazu-chan is fine!” She nodded in acknowledgement. It’s nice to meet you, Kazu-chan!” “you too,” I replied. Rii-chan was just about to say something else, when Iruka-sensei yelled out, “Hyuga Kazuki, and Nara Riiko! Do you have something you wish to share with the rest of us?!” I panicked a little. “n-no sir!!!” sensei’s eyes narrowed. “Then be quiet and pay attention!!!” “Hai!” Riiko and I smiled at each other one last time, then turned to face our teacher. ‘Maybe,’ I thought to myself, ‘maybe making friends won’t be as hard as I thought?’
A/N: gomen… I know this chapter is kind of boring… I promise the next one will be better!!! This is my first story that I dared put on the internet, and I’m also just kind of writing it as I go. I mean, I have an outline, but I’m just now writing it. Please r&r, it’ll make me update faster!!! If I don’t get any reviews, I will take that as a hint that you don’t like the fic and I will discontinue it. So please, every single review counts!!! Thanks for reading!!! Ja ne!
