Meetings Pt.1

The darkened passage that could lead to certain death for the foolish. Kabuto now stood looking down this corridor with a cold sweat. He took a deep breath before making the long walk to the door at the other end.

He took another deep breath after he had stopped before the door and before knocking.

"Enter." drifted through the heavy wood of the door in an oily way.

Kabuto quickly stepped inside the room and fell to one knee before the darkened figure lounging in the high chair at the other side of the small room.

"You have news for me Kabuto?" the figure hissed.

"I do Orochimaru-sama. Your body...your body has been stolen away."

In the darkness Kabuto thought he saw the twisted smile of Orochimaru gleam and it caused his body to shiver on reflex.

"I already know this and have already made plans." Orochimaru cooed as he extended a closed pale hand out of the shadows.

"But my lord!" Kabuto began and then froze when he felt something slide over his foot.

He looked down to see a small snake slither past him and over to Orochimaru's extended hand.

"You did good little one. Much faster then little Kabuto here. I might have a reward for you here." Orochimaru's eyes twinkled as he shook his hand a bit.

There was a muffled squeak from within the hand and the snake's attention snapped to the hand as its forked tongue shot out.

"But first I must know if you completed your other task."

"He did." a heavy voice drifted from the door.

Kabuto spun about as Orochimaru looked up with a pleased smirk.

The owner of the voice was a man roughly six feet tall and broadly built. His black hair was pulled back into a small ponytail. His matching eyes scanned the room from a scarred, lightly bearded, and battle hardened face. He wore a kimono of black with silver lining, matching obi, and hakama. Across his arms and legs there were the metal guards of the samurai. And tucked into either side of his obi was a katana. Both the armor and the katana he had were black and silver with a heavy snake motif (the hilts of the katana were the head and a hand's breadth of the upper body of a snake even). His geta clicked on the stone floor as he stepped farther into the room.

Orochimaru gave no second thought as he stood and released the mouse that had been in his hand into the waiting snake's mouth where it was quickly gobbled down.

"Ah Kensumei-kun, such a pleasure to see you." Orochimaru exclaimed as he pushed Kabuto aside and led the stranger in and placed him before a low table at the side of the room.

"Do not kun me Orochimaru. What is it you want?" the man demanded bluntly.

"You can not talk to Orochimaru-sama that way!" Kabuto exclaimed after he had recovered from the initial shock.

Kensumei just turned stone cold eyes on him and he froze as a cold sweat broke out on his back and his eyes went wide.

"Kabuto, you may go now." Orochimaru declared with a wave as he eased himself to the floor across from the other man.

"As you say Orochimaru-sama."

Kabuto quickly left and shut the door behind him.

But even as he left he could only think one thing. 'Those eyes. Now I know what looking death in the eyes feels like.' He let out a sigh of relief after he had closed the door and the killer intent of the man could no longer reach him.

Kensumei turned his attention back to Orochimaru after the door clicked shut behind the sniveling servant. "You've got them trained like stupid little rats."

"Yes, they are stupid little things. But so easy to control and so useful." Orochimaru smirked.

"Don't think you can do that to me snake sannin." Kensumei warned through slit eyes.

"I would never think it." Orochimaru exclaimed in a mock innocents.

"Then what is it you need?"

"My recent body has gone and been taken from me. I need someone reliable to recover it for me."

Kensumei gave a sniff as he unhooked a jar of sake from the pack on the small of his back and took a swig. "Body stealing snake. If you can't keep a hold of one of your victims then I see no reason to get involved."

"Oh but you have already gotten involved." Orochimaru's smile twisted beyond human limitations.

"What's that?"

"Your little apprentice appears to be the one who took my body."

"So the girl's still alive, and she beat down your future body. HA! And you think this makes me involved."

"Well yes. She is yours and she has something of mine. So by logic..."

"Oh stuff your logic. I'll get your body back for ya." Kensumei stated as he stood and turned toward the door.

"Thank you so much Kensumei-kun..." Orochimaru stopped short as he found the blade of one of Kensumei's swords at his throat.

"I thought I said enough with the kun crap. Anyways you can keep your thanks. I might just kill your precious body if it becomes to much of a hassle." Kensumei smirked as he resheathed his sword and left the room.

Orochimaru stood for a stunned moment before he strode back to his seat where he smirked pleasantly as the snake from before finished swallowing the mouse whole.
