Breaking Shadows

Taka lost track of time as she dozed off and on through out the night but she figured it was around four in the morning when a knock came from the door to the hospital room.

"Enter and identify yourself." Taka instructed flatly.

"It's me Taka." Tsunade replied as she opened the door and stepped in.

"Please forgive me Hokage-sama. I was only trying to do as you instructed." Taka bowed her head as she talked.

"Its fine. No problem." Tsunade waved the issue away with one hand as she turned her attention to Sasuke. "Has he stirred any."

"Only a small amount. Probably dreams." Taka reported.

Tsunade eyebrow arched as she looked over at the girl. Taka's attention though quickly snapped to the door.

"Identify yourself." she ordered as Tsunade followed her eyes to the door.

"She's quite the watch dog, isn't she?" Jiriaya chuckled as he entered the room.

Taka scowled as her grip tightened on her katana. Tsunade just sighed and shook her head as she put up a hand to Taka, signaling her to stand down.

"This man is Jiriaya the toad sage and seal master. I'm clearing him to see the boy so we can figure out how to remove his cursed seal."

Taka just turned her head and huffed. "I know of this toad lecher. He may know much but I do not believe he will be needed."

"HA! And why is that ms?" Jiriaya laughed almost directly into Taka's face.

Taka gave off a warning growl before continuing. "Because, old man, I have already destroyed the curse seal."

"WHAT!!!" was both sannins response.

"Why didn't you say anything?!" Tsunade shouted as she rushed the seated girl.

Taka quickly bowed before talking. "I'm sorry Hokage-sama that I did not directly tell you but it was in my report given to Nara-san."

This cooled Tsunade as she looked mildly embarrassed and looked up toward the ceiling.

"Didn't read much of the reports, did ya Tsunade?" Jiriaya snickered as he moved over to the side of the hospital bed.

"Of course I did! I just couldn't really focus on them much..." Tsunade trailed off as a mental image of her sleeping, head down on the desk, drool seeping across the reports, popped into not only her head.

'And this is supposed to be the Hokage.' Taka thought with a sweat drop.

A thoughtful hum came from where Jiriaya was squatting beside the bed. He was looking closely at the place on the back of Sasuke's neck the cursed seal had once been.

"What is it?" Tsunade asked, a little hope etching her voice.

"The mark is gone. And I can't find any deep corruption that would come with bearing it for such a long period." Jiriaya stood scratching the back of his head. "But I can't be sure until I get some certain seals and tags to test him with."

Both of the legendary sannin turned their attention back to the seated Taka.

"What did you do?" Tsunade asked in a strained fashion.

"The tomoshibi kenjutsu, divine light." Taka answered flatly.

"Kenjutsu?" Jiriaya raised an eyebrow.

Taka sighed before explaining. "Kenjutsu is the art of the sword. It requires the use all your parts. In simple terms it is the use of mind, body, and spirit as one art."

"So it would be like combining the three ninja disciplines into one form." Jiriaya pointed out.

"Hai. It would be very much like that."

"But how can somebody do that?" Tsunade exclaimed wide eyed at Taka.

"Years of practice and discipline. And the sword as a focus for the combined forces."

"And how could this art and jutsu allow you to destroy the cursed seal?" Jiraiya asked as he walked over to lean against the wall by the door.

"Tomoshibi kenjutsu divine light uses direct contact through a part of the sword, in this case the hilt, to force light chakra into the body, mind, and soul of the opponent." Taka explained in a rather empty tone.

"Light chakra? Into the body, mind, and spirit? And what would that do?" Tsunade asked next as she leaned back against the foot of Sasuke's bed.

"I cast the shadows from him. The cursed mark's corruption, false beliefs built on untrue pasts, and dark ambitions that plague the karma."

"Hm. This sounds a little hard to belief. Too good to be true I say, but she is a Kenamaru and we won't know until I check him later." Jiriaya shrugged as he turned and left the room.

Tsunade sighed as she looked over her shoulder at the boy asleep on the bed before turning her attention back to Taka. "Are you sure it helped him?"

"Fairly sure. The chances will be greater if I am able to watch him." Taka replied with a nod.

"Very well. But I want a detailed report and possible demonstration of your abilities later." Tsunade decided as she looked back at Taka.

"Of course Hokage-sama." Taka bowed from her seat.

"All right. Good night." Tsunade yawned as she left the room with a wave.

"Good night Hokage-sama."
