A/N: Here we are chapter 10 and more SakuXSasu. I may come back to the NaruXHina, I'm not sure. I may even spin it off into it's own story. I also decided to add an ancillary original character, Kunie. The name came from my friend Carol's mom's name. Kuni means country in Japanese.
Thanks for reading! -Ani

The song for this chapter makes me smile every time I hear it, which isn't often:
(I absolutely love the Nightmare Before Christmas reference)

I Miss You- Blink-182

(I miss you, I miss you)
Hello there, the angel from my nightmare
The shadow in the background of the morgue
The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want
Where you can always find me
We'll have Halloween on Christmas
And in the night we'll wish this never ends
We'll wish this never ends
(I miss you, I miss you)
(I miss you, I miss you)

Where are you and I'm so sorry
I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight
I need somebody and always
This sick strange darkness
Comes creeping on so haunting every time
And as I stared I counted
Webs from all the spiders
Catching things and eating their insides
Like indecision to call you
and hear your voice of treason
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight
Stop this pain tonight

Chapter 10

Sakura walked back to her apartment to shower and change. She just could not shake the weird feeling she had. She knew she couldn't hang out with Naruto anymore. Hinata didn't trust her and that just sucked. It's my own damn fault, she thought, I wouldn't trust me either.

She decided to visit Sasuke, she didn't have anything else to do. So she showered, changed her clothes and headed out the door.
***

Sasuke stood at the window, looking out at Konoha. He'd missed the village the six years he'd been gone. He also knew he got off easy on the treason charges, because Konoha needed the Sharingan. He saw Sakura heading towards the hospital and started smiling, he was beginning to think she wasn't going to visit him today.

He went into the small bathroom and looked in the mirror, something he never used to do. He finger-combed his hair and wished he had something other than the t-shirt and jeans Naruto lent him. The t-shirt he could deal with, the jeans were a whole other story. Besides being to big, they were too long. Sighing, he decided this was as good as he was gonna look.
***

Sakura made it to Sasuke's room without being stopped, which was remarkable. She opened the door to his room and almost fell down laughing. She'd heard the term 'ghetto smurf' before and now she knew exactly what it meant. She tried to suppress her smile and laughter and failed miserably.

He heard her snorts of laughter and turned to face her, which only set her off worse. "Do you laugh at Naruto when he wears these clothes?" he asked, trying to look annoyed.

"No, because he doesn't look like a ghetto smurf in them," she replied wiping her eyes, "Tell me your waist size and I'll get you some clothes that fit you."

"Yeah, that would be good. I'd rather not look like a ghetto smurf, even though I know that was a height crack too."

Sakura laughed, "Baka, you're taller than me."

Sasuke sent her an unreadable look and walked up to her, reaching past her to flip the lock on the door. Then he made a few hand signs and sealed the door. "Now, what were you saying about me?" he asked her arching his eyebrow.

"This," she replied wrapping her arms around his neck.

He snaked his arms around her, bringing one hand up through her hair. He tilted her head slightly back and kissed her.

She parted her lips and kissed him back. Even though she finally had the man she always wanted, she couldn't shake her strange feeling. She felt his hands sliding along her sides, one snaking up her shirt. She slid her hands down to his hips and pulled him closer to her. she trailed kisses down his neck, stopping to nibble on his collarbone. She heard his sharp intake of breath and knew she found his spot.

Then they both heard the commotion from out in the hallway, "Why is this door locked and sealed? Who's in there with Uchiha-san? Shit, we need black ops."
***

Sakura sighed and made quick hands signs to release the barrier jutsu on the door, unlocking it and flinging it open. "I sealed and locked the door. Is that a problem?" she glared at the gennin med student.

"No ma'am," the gennin replied, her eyes cast down almost hidden by her long blue bangs.

"Go then," Sakura snapped at the gennin.

"Since you're here...we could really use your input on a newly admitted case," the blue-haired gennin said without making eye contact.

Sakura couldn't help it, she lost it. She slammed her fist into the door frame, splintering the wood. "It's my day off, for fucks sake! I sealed the door so you guys would leave me the fuck alone!"

The medic trainee's lower lip trembled and tears welled up in her blue-gray eyes, she hadn't known it was her attending's day off. "I'm sorry, ma'am," she said her voice cracking.

Shit,
Sakura thought, I didn't mean to make her cry. Damnit, what was her name again? She flipped through her mental Rolodex, Ah, that's right Kunie. "Kunie, I'm sorry for yelling at you. I didn't mean to make you cry," the pink-haired jounin said to the upset gennin. She could hear Sasuke trying to muffle his laughter. She flipped him off behind her back so he could see it. She heard him snort, turning her attention back to the young gennin she asked her, "Kunie, have you ever heard the expression 'ghetto smurf'?"

Kunie's blue-grey eyes went wide. "Ma'am?" the gennin wasn't sure if the question was rhetorical or not.

"Kunie, don't call me ma'am. Please, call me Sakura," she said looking over at Sasuke, who was bent over laughing.

"Yes, ma', I mean Sakura-san, I mean sensei," Kunie said, her eyes were wide and scared. She did not want to piss off her attending again.

"Whichever you're more comfortable calling me is fine. Let me introduce you to Konoha's own, Uchiha Sasuke," Sakura said with a flip of her wrist in his direction.

"Kunie and I met earlier. When they were sneaking a peek at me," he smirked and continued, "I didn't mind, so don't kill them, Sakura-chan. It seems the other gennin don't like Kunie very much, they shoved her in here and were trying to seal the door," he chuckled. "You should of seen the looks on their faces when I broke their seal. Kunie and I chatted until Shizune came looking for her."

"Kunie, why would they do that to you?" she asked, her heart going out to the gennin that reminded her so much of herself.

"Because," she began in a whisper, "I said I would treat Uchiha-san and that I think it was brave of him to come back and face the charges against him. He could of kept running." She stared at her toes.

Sakura strained to hear her whispers. She saw the tears running down her face. "Kunie, how old are you?" she asked the girl.

"Seventeen, sensei," Kunie answered still looking down.

"How old were you when you entered the academy?"

"Fifteen and a half."

"May I ask why you started so late?"

"My parents wouldn't allow it. So, when I turned fifteen I applied and was accepted by Lady Tsunade herself," Kunie said lifting her chin a little.

Sakura felt a connection to the proud gennin, since her parents felt the same way when she joined the academy. Except her parents thought she would quit. "I think it's awesome that you've stuck to your guns. You're going to be a good medical ninja too," Sakura said giving the girl a hug.

Kunie blushed, she wasn't used to getting praised, "Sakura-san, can I train with you? You and Tsunade are my role models."

"How about, you can hang out with me and my friends. So, you'll have fun and learn some stuff too. We'll help you with any weaknesses you might have."

Kunie looked down at her feet again, "Um, I'm really not good at anything but chakra control and some genjutsu."

Sasuke popped up behind Sakura and snuck a kiss on her neck, which caused Kunie to look like she was going to faint. "You sound like Sakura, aka dead-last, when she was a gennin," he told her right before 'Dead-Last' jabbed him in the stomach with her elbow.

"Sasuke can help you with ninjutsu, since his clan are fire users. I can help you learn to control your chakra better and help with genjutsu. Naruto can help you with, um...Well he's good at, um..." Sakura paused to think.

"Being a knucklehead," Sasuke finished her sentence.

Kunie didn't laugh. "Uzumaki Nartuo? Isn't he dangerous? That's what my parents always told me," she asked them looking sacred.

Sakura and Sasuke looked at each other and laughed, Naruto dangerous? That was a hoot! Finally Sakura answered, "Only when he tries to think! But seriously, he's only dangerous to his enemies. Hey! Speak of the devil," the pink-hired jounin said as Naruto came in the door with Hinata in tow.
****

"Hey! Is this a party anyone can come to?" he cracked.

"Naruto, Hinata, I want you to meet Kunie. She's one of the interns. One of the best, I might add," Sakura introduced her to the new arrivals.

"Hi Kunie, nice to meet ya," the blond chunin said totally oblivious to Kunie's shocked look.

Hinata smiled at the young medic trainee, "We've met before. How are you?"

Kunie pulled Hinata away from the small group. She looked at the older jounin, "Hinata-sama, is he your boyfriend?"

Hinata smiled, "Yeah, something like that." She smiled at the jinchuriki.

"Aren't you scared?" Kunie asked her with a very worried expression.

Hinata wasn't sure where Kunie was going with this. "What do you mean?" she asked the gennin with a sharp edge to her voice.

Kunie leaned over and whispered in her ear, "I heard he's the nine-tailed fox."

Hinata let out a burst of laughter. "He's harmless, he's so sweet," she assured Kunie.

Kunie looked a little skeptical, but decided to drop the subject. She looked at the clock and figured she better get back to her group before Ino came looking for her.

After Naruto and Hinata finally left, Sasuke decided to tell Sakura his news. All though he was pretty sure she'd read it in his chart already. "So, Sakura-chan..." he began.

"It's alright, you can stay at my place. You'll have to sleep on the couch though," the medic nin took note of the disappointed look on his face. Well, too bad, she thought, I told him I'm not a slut and he fucking broke my heart before.

"Okay, that's fine," the last Uchiha said looking at her, he knew what the problem was. Every personal relationship he had before he'd left Konoha was either strained or non-existent. He sighed and looked at the pink-haired medic he'd fallen in love with and wondered if she would ever be able to forgive him. The only person who had forgiven him completely was Naruto and he thought she had too, but he was obviously mistaken. "Sakura, look at me," he paused until she looked at him, "Do you forgive me?"

She stopped what she was doing. "At times I think I do, but then I remember waking up on that cold bench and you were gone..." She swallowed hard trying not to cry, "I guess I do, but I can't forget what you did to my feelings. You ripped my heart out and crushed it walking out of the village. That I can't forget," she said tears running down her face.

He watched her cry. Not sure what to do, he put his arms around her and touched his forehead against hers, "I'm so sorry. I was in a fucked up place and I couldn't see that I was hurting everyone around me." He kissed her forehead, "Please don't cry anymore, Sakura-chan. I love you and I'm never going to leave you again."

Another tear slid down her cheek, "I wish I could believe you."
