Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Song of the Mist ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Though this story has had over 400 views already in the past week I've had this posted (I've been re-making this fan fiction since I started writing it this time last year.) on fanfiction.net, I've only gotten two people to actually review… Sort of discouraging don't you think? Anyhow, here's the prologue. Of course, being the prologue, the future chapters will be better and longer. Please review!

~Prologue~
THE WIND WHISTLED loudly as it ran through the forest, as the deep blue sky hid all the creatures of the nocturnal world as they scurried about. On this night, one misfortunate girl was taken by the last people you'd want to see. A man in a black cloak, with red clouds on it, carried her in his arms. His long, black hair which was pulled back swayed back and forth each step he took. Why did he take this girl? Not even the girl knew the answer to this question.
W-where am I? I feel as if I'm… b-being carried away by someone. What happened to me? Did I pass out during a mission, and a teammate is carrying me? No, these arms are too muscular and are holding me too roughly… I would open my eyes, but they're too heavy to lift!” The girl thought as she began to awaken. Her long lavender hair wisped into her face, blinding her from seeing the man. The man then stopped, and stared into the dark shadows of the forest with his piercing red eyes. A few moments later, a tall man stood up from his spot and approached the two as a black figure.
“Take her; I need settle some things before we leave,” the man said as he roughly handed the young women to his partner. Waking a bit, the girl glanced from one man to the other as she was put into the new set of arms. She had decided that she felt a bit safer with the other man, and she probably had the right idea.
“Why are you giving this load of crap to me?” The new carrier asked with a hint of disgust in his voice. He made it perfectly clear to his partner that he didn't want to take responsibility for the hostage. Here he was, waiting for him to return for days, and he came back with a worthless girl like this?
“Just take her, do whatever you want with her, just don't kill her.” The man holding the girl, wearing an identical outfit as the other, snickered.
The Akatsuki member then looked over his hostage. The girl had black sandals, and her navy pants that were more like caprees, rolled up tightly a few inches bellow the knees. For a shirt; she had an oversized jacket that was light purple, with white sleeves, with netting showing where her jacket was unzipped. He noticed she also had a very womanly figure, and then he saw a Kohona ninja headband around her neck.
“Itachi isn't this one from that old village of yours?” The man in the black and red cloak asked as his partner walked away. Was this girl of any true value? Or was she just some sort of bait to catch their target? This certainly wasn't a tailed demon; she had no mark on her body to show it. So, who was this young person anyhow? Itachi then stopped, turned his head towards him and said:
“Just do as I say.” The man then just kept on walking down the path in which he came from, disappearing in the shadows. The man now holding the girl looked down at her again, probably deciding what to do with her. His partner did say he could do whatever he wanted with her, as long as he did not kill her.
“Now what am I going to do till he comes back with you as dead weight?” The man asked her with a gruff voice. The girl's eyelids opened the slightest bit, revealing her purple, pupil-less eyes.
“Seems to me that you're some sort of shinobi, well I'm guessing Samehada could use some more chakra,” he said with a sense of cruelty in his voice. The man then drew out a large, mummified blade from his back, which had to be almost as long as he was. All the girl could make out of it was the small skull at the end of the hilt. She guessed that the other man who left a few moments before must have drugged her with something. But when did the man have time to do that? She was sure that nothing different was going on than usual before she was captured. Was the man that good of a shinobi? She, being a shinobi herself, could notice high chakra leveled shinobi easily, yet this time around she did not until that very moment.
No doubt about it, I've been kidnapped!” The girl thought as she drifted off.“I-I need to leave this place right away, but… I'm suddenly so tired… I can't… move at all… I'm so sleepy, I want to sleep but I need to get away…”
“Heh,' the man jested, “Looks like you aren't going to run away easily are you?” He asked as he hit her hard with the blade. The girl then felt a huge mass of her chakra being cut away at, sending pain into her body. “W-what is this feeling? What's… happening to me?”
