Neji then cleared his throat. “The teams are even now, so let's get started.” Both groups nodded. “We'll send up members simultaneously until everyone has gone. But the captains will go last. I'll program the machine to tally up the scores and show them at the end. If there are no questions then, your team may go first once I've programmed the machine.” Neji walled up to the stage and began programming it to his desired settings.
As he was doing this, Kristin's team huddled up. “Alright, who should go first? How about Shikamaru?” Kristin suggested. Shikamaru frowned and crossed his arms. “Singing is too troublesome.” Kristin laughed and pushed him forward. “Oh get up there.” He sighed as he reluctantly walked up to the stage just as Neji finished and stepped down. “What a drag,” he mumbled as he picked the song, `It Ends Tonight' by the All American Rejects. His singing was pretty monotone, but he managed to match his voice to the song almost perfectly. His team could tell that he probably thought it would be `too troublesome' to give it his all. Had he done his best, he would've been amazing. (So sad )
He finished a few minutes later as Tenten took to the stage next. She picked the song; `Survivor' by Destiny's Child. Unlike Shikamaru, she put a lot of emotion into it. She moved to the song and put much gusto into the louder parts. She finished within a few minutes with Gaara volunteering to go up next. Tenten stepped off the stage as Gaara made his way up. Once he'd reached the stage, he could hear Nicole yelling for him. (Nicole had already woken by now.) “Wooo, go Gaara! You're hot!” Gaara gave her a strange look, causing her to be quiet. He then refocused on the machine and picked the song, `Undone' by Korn. Since his voice already had a demented tone to it, he had no problem matching his voice to the song. He was surprisingly enthusiastic and even moved along with the song. He was amazing and scary at the same time. He finished the song and returned to his group. Nicole gave him hug once he rejoined them. “That was amazing Gaara! We're gonna win for sure!” Gaara smiled slightly and shrugged. “It's what I do.”
A second later, Ino dashed up to the stage. She picked the song, `Genie in a Bottle,' by Cristina Aguilera. She was obviously trying to impress Sasuke with her OVER enthusiasm. She tried doing her own thing with the song, which didn't work as well as she hoped. She even imitated a genie as she sang. She was a great at singing; she just tried to do too much with it. Once she'd finished, she winked at Sasuke and returned to the group. Kristin looked among her group to decide who would go next. “Hey Kakashi, why don't you go next?” Kakashi reached into his pocket and pulled out a golden chained necklace with a solid gold Tigger hanging from it. “Sure, just let me put on my bling first.” He put it on as he proudly walked up to the stage. He picked the song, `Mockingbird,' by Eminem. His voice didn't match the song as well as some of the others had, but he put a lot of character into it. He did the hand motions, the head jerks, everything perfectly. (It was as though he'd practiced the moves before) If his voice had matched a bit better, you'd think he was the Japanese version of Eminem.
Once he'd finished, he did the Gangsta Salute before he rejoined the group. “Wow Kakashi that was dope!” Ryan yelled while doing his version of the Gangsta Dance. Neji's team sent up Sakura next. She walked up there proudly, despite Ino's booing. She chose the song, `I Will Survive,' by Gloria Gayner. Her voice wasn't quite low enough for this song, but she still tried her best. She flowed with it pretty well and even moved a little. Her tone was pretty good, but could've still used some work. She finished a few minutes later, and Hinata was sent up next. She looked extremely nervous until Ryan and Naruto started cheering for her. She looked slightly more confident as she picked the song, `My Heart Will Go On,' by Celine Dion. Her voice was very beautiful, only it was a bit too high for this particular song. She had her eyes closed most of the time as her body flowed to the song. She was less enthusiastic than most of the competitors, but she was a pretty amazing singer.
Once she'd finished, she rejoined the group and smiled warmly at Ryan. “Thank you for the confidence boost.” Ryan gave her his trademark grin. “Anytime.” He then leaned over to Kristin. “She digs me,” he whispered. Kristin frowned and promptly punched his shoulder. Sasuke was the next one up. He quickly dashed up to the stage before Ino and Sakura could bombard him with `good luck' kisses. He chose the song, `Love Like Winter' by AFI. His voice matched the song almost perfectly. His tone was great, but he didn't move much. And he didn't show as much enthusiasm either. He only showed a bit because he didn't want to give his `fan girls' another reason to constantly bother him. Once he'd finished, he rejoined his group to find Ino and Sakura arguing over which one of them thought he did the best. Sasuke sighed. `It sucks to be good-looking.'
Kristin turned back to her team. “Okay Choji, you go next.” Choji frowned. “Nah, I don't wanna.” Kristin frowned as she stole a kunai from Nicole and held it to Choji's throat. “You will sing, or else!” Choji grew scared and gave in. “Okay okay, I'll do it.” He walked up to the stage and picked the song, `I Want Candy,' by Aaron Carter. His tone was really off and his voice hardly came close to matching. Despite this, he was extremely enthusiastic and created his own choreography. (He also made his strange `buruuuum' sounds as he sang) He finished a few minutes later and returned to his group to see them laughing their heads off. “What's so funny?” Shikamaru, still laughing, looked at him. “It's so like you to choose a song like that.” Choji pouted as Kiba and Akamaru walked up to the stage.
They picked the song, `Who Let the Dogs Out?' by the Baha Men and began to sing. They were wildly enthusiastic as they jumped left and right across the stage. Kiba's voice was decent and his tone was alright, but his boundless energy made up for it. Akamaru's barking during the `who?' parts worked better than Kiba had expected. They put on quite a show for everyone else in the pub. They finished a while later and stepped down, as Lee made his way up to the stage. He picked the song, `Headstrong,' by Trapt. To everyone's utter amazement, he matched his voice extremely close to the song. His tone was better than what anyone expected and was completely unaffected by his original style of speech. He put a little more enthusiasm than he should have into it, however, he didn't move around quite as much. When he finished, he returned to his team. Kristin smiled. “That was great, Lee. You're amazing!” Lee looked as though he would jump for joy as he embraced her in a bear hug. “Thank you very much. I gave it my all, just for you.” Kristin couldn't help but blush.
Naruto was sent up next. “Yay, it's my turn. Believe it!” After getting hit on the head by Sakura for saying, `believe it', he marched up to the stage. He chose the song, `Chariot,' by Gavin DeGraw. His singing was almost as bad as Choji's, and his tone was worse. But, he was very active and moved to the song. He put a lot of feeling into it. He finished and stepped down as Nicole was chosen to go next. Nicole looked nervous. “I don't know, nobody really likes my singing anyway.” Gaara patted her reassuringly on the back. “You'll go great, I know it.” Nicole looked suddenly confident as she marched up to the stage. She picked the song, `Stupid Girls,' by Pink and began to sing. She matched the song almost completely, except at the louder parts. She put a lot of feeling into it and danced as best as she could. Her tone was better than she thought it'd be. Overall, she did really well. She rejoined her team once she'd finished and asked, “How was I?” Garaa gave her a thumbs up, causing her to faint again. He caught her before she fell and put her in the nearest booth.
Anko was the next one up. She still looked a bit tipsy, but made it up there successfully. She picked the song, `Dancing Queen,' by the A-Teens and began to sing. She still sounded a bit drunk, but managed to come close to matching it. Her tone was a bit off, but her dancing was very energetic. She danced like a ballet dancer on steroids. It was very amusing to watch. She finished shortly and rejoined her group. Kristin turned to her brother and nudged him forward. “You're up buddy, make me proud.” Ryan nodded as he moon-walked up to the stage. He chose the song, `Thriller,' by Michael Jackson. Much to even his sisters' surprise, he matched the song perfectly. (They didn't think that his voice could go that high) He did an alien-like dance along with it, while attempting to break dance near the end. When the song was almost finished, the scary phantom voice played and was louder than it should've been. This scared him quite badly; causing him to dash off of the stage in a Napoleon-like fashion. He rejoined his laughter-stricken group as Alanna went up next.
Her nervousness was quickly replaced with confidence as she noticed that Neji was smiling at her. She picked the song, `My Last Breath,' by Evan Essence and began to sing. She came amazingly close to matching it perfectly. Her tone was low and flowed oddly well with the song. Her eyes were half-closed as though she were singing in a trance. Once she'd finished, Kristin turned to her team and gulped; it was finally her turn. “Well guys, you've all done well, and now it's my turn. I won't let you all down.” The group passed on words of encouragement as she walked up to the stage. She chose the song, `White Flag,' by Dido. Her tone was a just a bit low, but went unnoticed the further she got through the song. Her voice almost perfectly matched the song, but she kept her eyes closed most of the time. She didn't move around much, but she sang very enthusiastically. She rejoined her group when she'd finished as Neji walked up to the stage. He picked the song, `Somewhere I Belong,' by Linkin Park. His voice, oddly enough, matched the song perfectly. He did a lot of hand motions and swiveled his head dramatically. His tone was amazingly accurate. He was really into it to the point where he seemed to be lost in his own little world. He received several jaw-dropping stares. When he'd finished, he remained on-stage. “Alright everyone, come see your scores.”
