“Squad 7 Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura,” Naruto cheered and Sakura hung her head. “and Uchiha Sasuke.” Sakura cheered and Naruto hung his head, Sasuke just looked indifferent.

Iruka continued. “Squad 8 Hinata Hyuga, Inuzuka Kiba, and Aburame Shino.”

“Squad 9 Rezicun Sora, Nuwigi Huronomi, and Saruki Manoji.”

Sora's head fell onto her desk. Why...why them?

She looked over at Horunomi, he was sleeping. When his eyes were open you would see that one was red and the other blue. His hair was red and he was taller than Sora. Next to him was Manoji, who looked like he was about to jump out the window and run around in circles. He had spicky blue hair and gold eyes. He would be one of the cutest boys in the class if he wasn't so short. Sora was probably half a foot taller than him.

Some would say that Horu was lazier than Shikamaru, but he could also be as hyper as Manoji and as mean as Sasuke. You can never tell want Horu is going to be like, he has rapid mood swings. He could be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on the day. Today he was lazy and indifferent day, tommarow he would be mean, then the next day a coward, then the next day the nicest guy in the would. Sora believed that he didn't have his own personality so he copied everyone else's. Most found it very annoying, including her. And for some reason he followed her around, she could even go as far as to say he was a stalker. He would also wear clothes to match his personality, today was gray and black.

And Manoji was just hyper, he ate too much sugar as a child. There was this one day when he didn't say anything and it kind of scared everyone. He usually wore bright yellow or blue, today it was blue.

Sora sat up and looked back Iruka-sensei.

“And Squad 10 Yamanaka Ino, Nara Shikamaru, and Akimichi Choji.

“Those are all the squads” Iruka finished.

Naruto stood up. “Sensei why does a great ninja like me have to be in a group with a slug like Sasuke?”

Sakura looked mad, but Iruka wasn't fazed. “Sasuke had the best score out of all the graduating students. You, Naruto, had the wost scores.”

Sora frowned. Iruka shouldn't say things like that in front of the whole class, even if it is true.

“To make a balanced group, we put the worst student with the best student.”

Naruto sat down with a 'humph' and Sora raised an eyebrow. How is my team balanced? It's me, mixed personality, and sugar-high.

“After lunch you'll meet your new Jounin teachers, until then class dismissed.” Iruka finished.

Sora stood up and was immediately tackled by a small blue blur. “Sora! I'm so happy! We get to be on the same team! Yaaaaaaaaay!”

Sora pushed the hugging Manoji off her and stood up. When she did she found her face an inch away from Horu. She backed away surprised and tripped over the sitting figure of Manoji.

“Ahhhh.” She hit the ground hard and Manoji was at her side in a second. “Oh my Gosh Sora! Are you okay?!” He asked very fast.

Sora sat up, before she could get up Horu grabbed her hand and pulled her way to close for comfort. “You should be more careful.”

Sora pulled her hand from his grip and backed away. “Okkkaaayyy, will do. I'm going to go now.”

She started to walk away, but noticed Manoji and Horu following. She stopped. “What are you doing?”

“We're going to eat lunch with you!” Manoji said jumping from foot to foot.

“Why?” Sora questioned.

Horu walked over and put an arm around her shoulders. “Because, we are a team now. We should stay together.”

Sora nodded uncomfortable and moved away. “Okay we'll all eat lunch together, but first we need to make a three foot rule. You come less than three feet closer to me I will hurt you.”

Horu smirked. “I can take a little pain.” He put his arm around her waist. She glared and punched him.

Manoji giggled and hooked his arm around Sora's. “Don't worry about Horu, today is suave and indifferent day.”

Sora unhooked their arms and continued to walk outside Manoji stayed by her side. Haru walked behind them, making sure he was three feet behind Sora.

Sora raised an eyebrow. “I thought her was being lazy today. And why am I the only one he's using his so called charms on?”

Manoji linked his hands behind is back and faced Sora walking backwards. “No, he's was just tired and fell asleep at his desk. And he's trying to charm you because he loves you.”

Sora stopped dead in her tracks. “What?”

Manoji stopped too, but continued to smile. “I'll put it this way, Sasuke is to girls, what you are to Horu.”

Huro stopped next to her and smiled. Sora grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him three feet away. “Right...so he is a stalker.” She continued to walk away. Horu sighed, Manoji patted him on the shoulder.

“Don't worry about it, maybe she'll like lazy or kind Horu better.” Manoji ran after Sora. Horu shrugged.

“Whatever.”

Sora sat trying to ignore her two teammates and continue to play with her yo-yo.

“Sora...Sora...Sora....Sora!”

“W hat Manoji!” Teams 7, 8, and 10 looked at them, but Sora didn't notice, she was to busy trying not to choke Manoji.

“How long is your hair?” He asked innocently. Sora's eye twitched.

“What?” She hissed. Manoji sat cross legged in front of her on top of the table.

“Well your hair is always up, and I want to know how long it is, so does Horu.” He gave a little giggle.

“It's long okay, leave me alone.” She crossed her arms. Manoji leaned closer.

“How long? When did you start growing it?” Manoji pressed.

“Past my waist and I started growing it when I was seven. Why do you care?” She questioned.

Manoji just smiled. “Because your hair is blue, like mine, and I want to know how long it is.”

Sora rolled her and turned her head away. Horu leaned closer also. “You know he's not going to stop until you show him how long it is.” He grabbed her hair tie and pulled it out of her hair. All of her hair came out of her bun and traveled down her back. She didn't notice some of the people in the class room give her a doubletake, she was too busy glareing at Haro, he just smirked. “I didn't think it was possible for you to look even more beautiful.”

She whispered something and he moved closer. “What?”

She grabbed the front of his shirt. “THREE FOOT RULE!” She punched him again, he went flying.

She took out another hair tie, ignoring the wide eyed stares from some of the people in the room, and put her hair back in a bun. She sat back down and Manoji giggled. “Wow your hair is pretty and long!”

Sora rolled her eyes. “Shut up Manoji.”

He did as told, for about a second. He started to hum and Sora started to glare at him. Horu got back up and sat down as if nothing happened. Sora was about to open her mouth, but closed it when she heard the door open.

Three people walked in. Two men and a woman. The woman had shoulder length black hair and blood red eyes. She was wearing her headband on her forehead and a stripped kimono.

On her left was a tall man with spiky black hair and black eyes. He was also wearing his headband on his forehead and was smoking a cigarette. Unlike the woman he was wearing a green vest.

The man next to him was shorted than the other man, but taller than the woman. He was wearing a vest also, but unlike the other two his headband was on his arm. He had short silver hair and brown eyes, he looked a little familiar.

“Squad 8, I am your new Jounin teacher?????? Follow me.” She left and Hinata, Kiba, and Shino followed.

“Squad 9, I am you Jounin teacher Satori Bausi. Follow me please.” Sora, Horu, and a bouncing Manoji followed.

He lead them to the bench outside the Academy. He smiled at them all. “Well sit down, lets get to know each other.” Sora, Manoji, and Horu sat down and Bausi-sensei sat in front of them.

“As you know I am Bausi, Bausi-sensei to you, and I will be watching over your training and missions from now on. I want to know everything about you all. Lets start wwwwwiiiiiiiiiittttttttthhhhhh....you!” He pointed to Manoji.

Manoji sat up even straighter, if that was possible he was already sitting as stiff as a board. “My name's Saruki Manoji! I'm 12, even though I look younger! I like Candy! And Ice Cream! And to Run! Running is Fun! See I can run really fast! Watch!” He started to run back and forth and in circles.

Sora sighed. “He'll be like that for a while.”

Bausi-sensei just smiled. “He has spirit, that's great! Now you!” He pointed to Horu.

Horu sighed. “I'm Nuwigi Huronomi, call me Horu. I don't care if you like me or not. And this is my girlfriend, Sora.” He leaned closer to her, but she pushed him away by the face. “Three feet, and not your girlfriend.”

“And you?” Bausi-sensei looked at Sora.

“Rezicun Sora, I like to train and cook. I also like to find ways to improve my skills with my father's yo-yo.” Sora answered.

Manoji had finally stopped running and had sat down. Bausi-sensei raised and eyebrow. “May I see this yo-yo?”

Sora nodded and took it out of her weapon's bag. She was hesitant to give it to him, but did. Bausi-sensei looked at it closely and started laughed. Sora narrowed her eyes.

“I thought you looked familiar, you're Riuzen's daughter. I had suspicions from your name, but this proves it. Riuzen never went anywhere without it.” Bausi-sensei gave it back to a wide eyed Sora.

“You knew my father?” She whispered.

Bausi nodded. “I'm surspired you don't remember me, I met you a couple times. I was, after all one of his best friends from the Academy, along with Gai.”

“Gai-sensei?!” Sora asked surprised.

“Ah, so you remember him, but not me?” Bausi-sensei put a hand to his chest.

Sora frowned and looked at her yo-yo. “I don't remember a lot from when I was younger, especially the time before dad died. I had just recently met Gai-sensei, again, I guess.”

Bausi-sensei smiled a little sad and put a hand on her shoulder. “It's fine, you don't have to remember everything just yet. Plus now that I'm your sensei, you can get to know me all over again.” He smiled brightly, it reminded her of Gai-sensei's and Lee's, but a little less bright.

“And starting tomorrow we get to do a D-rank missions. We can meet back here at 9:00am.” He stood up. “Okay, you're free to go!” Manoji jumped up and grabbed Sora's and Horu's arms. Before he could drag them far Bausi-sensei called after them.

“Wait! Sora, will you please stay behind?”

Sora nodded and pulled her arm out of Manoji's grip and walked back over to Bausi-sensei. He smiled at her. “I want to show you something Sora, I know you'll love it.” He grabbed her shoulder and lead her to the village and then to an apartment.

Sora looked at him confused. “Where are we?”

“This is where I live, now come on.” He walked up the stairs and Sora followed. He stopped in front of one of the many doors. He took out a key and opened the door, holding the door open for Sora. She entered and looked around when he turned on the lights and closed the door. It looked like an average apartment, couch, shelves, pictures on the wall. Sora looked at one of the pictures more closely.

“Is that-”

Bausi-sensei nodded. “That's your father as a child. Wait here I'll be right back.” Sora continued to look at the picture. He looked so young, about 12. His hair was still the same, white and messy, and is eyes were the same warm blue. She smiled when she saw the yo-yo.

“Ah-ha! Found it!” Sora turned and watched Bausi-sensei come back into the room carrying a photo album. He sat on the couch and patted the seat next to him. She sat down and looked at the album. He followed he gaze and smiled. He opened it to the first page. Sora smiled when she saw her father and Bausi-sensei. Her father had him in a head lock and was giving him a nugie.

Bausi-sensei rubbed his head. “I can still feel that, he always loved to give people nugies.” Sora rubbed her head too.

“I know.”

“This was taken while we were still in the Academy, Ruizen would always use his yo-yo to hit people. After a while his father, your grandfather, took it away, telling Ruizen that although it looked like a toy, it really wasn't. Ruizen said he felt lost without it, that a part of him was missing. I didn't understand, I thought it was just a toy. But you probably understand better than I do.”

Sora nodded and Bausi-sensei turned the page. The next page had four people in it. Ruizen, Bausi-sensei, a girl with dark blue hair, and a red haired Jounin.

“That's Reugin-sensei.” Bausi-sensei pointed to the red head. “He was a very strict teacher, witch is probably why he was assigned to our team.” He chuckled.

“Who's that?” Sora pointed to the girl. She looked very familiar.

Bausi-sensei smiled. “That's Ami, Ruizen used to say that she was put on our team to make sure we didn't get ourselves killed. Ruizen loved her very much, you look so much like her. That's another thing I noticed, but your hair is a mix between Ruizen's and her's.”

Sora's eyes widened. “You mean that's my real mother?”

Bausi-sensei nodded. “You've never seen a picture of her.” It wasn't a question.

Sora shook her head. “No, Chiyoko didn't let me have any pictures of father and she burned all the pictures of mother after he died. I forgot what she looked like.”

Bausi closed his eyes sadly. “Yes, Chiyoko was always jealous of Ami when we were children. It increased when Ruizen married Ami instead of her. When Ami died she jumped at the chance to get Ruizen. And Ruizen married her worried about what would happen if you grew up without a mother. So he married Chiyoko, but he wasn't happy with her as he was with Ami. Chiyoko ignored it and pretended everything was perfect. When Ruizen died she just became bitter.”

Sora nodded. “It's my fault that dad became unhappy. If I was never born mom wouldn't have died.”

Bausi-sensei shook his head. “No, Ruizen was happiest when he was with you. He loved you very much, and your mother would have too. Some things in life are meant to be, you can't change fate. Remember that Sora, it wasn't your fault.”

Sora nodded and turned the page. She couldn't help but laugh at the next picture. It was her father and a younger Gai-sensei. They had their arms thrown across each others shoulders and were grinning stupidly, each giving a thumbs up. Bausi-sensei was standing in the background, looking embarrassed to be seen with the two men. And Sora could see why, not only was Gai-sensei wearing his green spandex suit, but so was her father.

“Why is her wearing that?” Sora questioned between laughs.

“Gai had given it to him as a birthday present. Ruizen actually wore it for a while, that is until Ami said she wouldn't marry a man that wore green spandexes. He asked her why, it was Gai who answered. He said that Ruizen just couldn't pull off such a hip look. Ruizen was crushed, but kept the suit anyway.” Bausi turned the page. Sora smiled.

The next picture was of her parents on their wedding day. Her mother looked so beautiful and her father looked like it was the happiest day of his life, which it probably is. Bausi-sensei pointed to something in the background, it was a crying Gai.

“It took forever for us to get Gai to stop crying. He kept shouting something about the springtime of youth and how it was so beautiful. Ami threw her flowers at him, but that just made him cry harder, saying how happy he was that he caught the flowers. Ruizen just laughed and hit Gai in the head with his yo-yo.” Sora giggled and turned the page.

Next was a picture of her father and very pregnant mother. Gai-sensei was next to her mother and giving her a one armed hug and Bausi-sensei was giving her father a nugie. Under the picture was just a picture of her mother and father. One of her father's arms was around her mother's waist and his other hand was giving the peace sign. Ami's head was rested on his shoulder and she was looking up at Ruizen with love in her eyes.

“Ami wanted at least one good picture without me or Gai ruining it.” Sora smiled.

“They look so happy.” She muttered. She turned the page and saw a picture of her father and who she assumed was her as a baby. Her father was smiling, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. Eyes that were filled with tears, of sadness and joy.

“That was taken a week after you were born, Ruizen was very sad when Ami died, but happy when the doctors were able to save you. He didn't smile for a while, even Gai couldn't do it. As you got older the hole in his heart grew smaller. When you were about one he married Chiyoko, but never told you that she wasn't your real mother.”

Sora nodded and turned the page. Her eye widened and her mouth fell open. It was a picture of her when she was four. It was a picture of her and Gai-sensei, he was kneeling down next to her smiling. She was smiling too, and giving the peace sign. She was also wearing a green spandex suit.

Bausi-sensei started laughing and Sora's left eye twitched. “Was it my birthday too?”

Bausi-sensei shook his head. “No, that was a gift when you joined the Academy. You were very happy when you got it. Ruizen even found his.” Bausi-sensei turned the page and laughed again.

Sora was still wearing the spandex, but she was sitting on her father's shoulders, who was also wearing green spandex. They were standing next to Gai-sensei. Once again Bausi-sensei was standing in the background looking embarrassed.

Sora turned the page, and the next picture was of her, her father, Gai-sensei, and Bausi-sensei. The next couple pages were pretty much the same, just she was older in each picture, and she wasn't wearing the green suit anymore and neither was her father. The last one was of her and her father the day before they left for the camping trip.

Bausi-sensei closed the album and looked at Sora, she was looking away. “How come I can't remember some of that? Gai-sensei, you.”

Bausi-sensei sighed. “Sometime when children go through something horrifying, they suppress it. You probably suppressed all the memories that took place before he died.”

“Why didn't you or Gai-sensei come and visit me?” Sora asked with tears in her eyes.

Bausi-sensei sighed. “We tried, but Chiyoko wouldn't let us see you and she said that you didn't remember. We thought it was best not to see you. We didn't want you to be forced to remember things you wanted to forget.”

Sora nodded and stood up. “I understand, thank-you Bausi-sensei.” She smiled at him and walked toward the door. She suddenly stopped and turned to him. “Bausi-sensei, why didn't you ever get a green suit?”

He rolled his eyes. “Gai said that I wasn't hip enough to have one. I was actually glad.”

Sora smirked. “Sensei, can I have the picture of my father, me, and Gai-sensei and the one with only Gai-sensei and me?”

Bausi-sensei nodded and took the pictures out of the album. He handed them to her. “What are you going to do with it?”

Sora smiled a secretive smile. “I want to show my friend Lee.” She walked out, the two pictures in her hand.

Bausi-sensei smirked. “So, she's made friends with Gai's student. Like father like daughter.”
