Sakura looked over as she saw Sasuke littered with adoring girls. She sighed, she wished she was a better ninja. A better…girl. Anything to get his attention!

Naruto came up beside her and crossed his arms, “Who does he think he is? He’s not a god.” he muttered.

Sakura smiled at Naruto’s words, ‘Yea…but he’s darn close.’

Kakashi sighed and walked up, “You still don’t get it do you?”

Sakura looked up at him with Naruto on the other side, “Get what?”

Kakashi shook his head and smiled in his corny way, “You don’t gotta look too far to see what us guys are like! It’s pretty obvious!”

Sakura blew out an exasperated breath and looked at Sasuke who was lavished in goodies as Naruto was just himself. Blamed for something he couldn’t really blame anyone for…but he couldn’t be blamed for something he didn’t do.

Sakura practiced, trying to get her mind off of Sasuke as she realized she’d never be able to turn his head to her. She set her mind to making sure she was an excellent ninja! She’d show him! She’d show everyone!

Naruto stepped closer to her and she looked over, “What?” she asked, a bit out of breath.

“Want to knock me around a few times? Would be good for your movements, right?” he asked, smirking a bit and putting his thumb up, “I’ll even let you hit me.”

Sakura glared and ran up to him, attacking him, “I don’t need you to go easy on me!” she yelled as she kicked him in the leg from the side and uppercut him.

He smirked and rubbed his jaw a bit, “I can see that…that was just to see if you had it in you.” he began to fight back.

By the time Sakura and Naruto were done, they sat against each other’s backs and heaved every breath. Naruto sighed and Sakura spat some blood away from her lip.

“I think I’m done training now.” she laughed a bit.

“Yea, me too.” Naruto joined in the laughter.

They turned around to examine each other. “Man, Naruto, you look horrible!” she saw his bloodied lip and bruised eye along with dirt all over his outfit.

He pointed and laughed, “Yea, you should go get a mirror!” her lip was cut a bit and she had a small bruise on her brow along with her own set of dirt stains on her clothes.

Sakura and Naruto locked glances and Sakura smiled a bit, “You know what, Naruto?”

“What?” he asked, waiting for an insult.

“You look kinda cute when you got the crap beat out of you!” she laughed.

OK, that insult coulda been worse. He grinned.

“You too.” he jested.

Sakura had began to like Naruto more than Sasuke. He let her beat the crap out of him. And she began to get more advanced in her skills as well.

She looked at Sasuke for a moment before turning away.

Sasuke looked at her strangely as she walked over to Naruto and gave him a small smile, “Thanks.”

“For what?” Naruto asked, as shocked as Sasuke that she turned away from him.

She kissed Naruto’s cheek, “For helping me with my fighting skills…” she paused and added seeing Naruto’s small blush from the kiss, “And for helping me understand that Sasuke isn’t the only one there.”
