Chapter 6- If Words Could Kill
I quickly dashed deep into the forest and only stopped to tell Kaminari to wait near a huge pine tree. Engo jumped off of my shoulders and scrambled up and sat on Kaminari's head. I sped off before I could see Kaminari's reaction. I ran another two miles as quick as I could manage and easily found Kabuto.
"What is it?" I asked panting.
He smiled mischievously and reached into his weapon pouch. He took out a small package, about the size of a small mouse, wrapped in a light blue cloth. He threw it towards me and I caught it with ease.
"It's from her to let you know she's all right," said Kabuto.
I stared at the package for a minute, "Sensei, you can't so soon."
I knew what it was and what it meant. My sensei would die in 72 hours (Three days) either by Orochimaru's hands or… by her own. Of course Kabuto and Orochimaru didn't know my sensei was willing to take her own life. If Orochimaru knew he would use me as a hostage, either way we were trapped.
"But still if I finish this mission," I thought.
I put the package away determined to hold onto the silver bracelet I knew was inside. I looked back up at Kabuto in time to see him launch a kunai at me. It flew across my arm and sliced it open. I didn't feel it. Then the next thing I knew I was looking at the sky, Kabuto had knocked me down.
"That's a warning finish the mission," said Kabuto begging to walk away, "Oh by the way Orochimaru-sama believes you'll progress quite rapidly so now you have three weeks."
Kabuto walked through the forest and out of my sight. I sat up and thought, "I originally had three months, Orochimaru now says three weeks, but now my sensei has only given me three days."
Her anger, her problem, no one understood except me. No one knew how her mind would take the stress; there was no telling what she would do. She had warned me in a whisper before I hand left the hidden sound.
"If I can't stand it any longer, I'll let you know; somehow I'll let you know."
I jumped at the sound of running feet in my direction. I panicked but realized it must have been Kaminari. Hearing her in the distance shouting, "Kagami-san," I leapt up and ran deeper into the forest. I only stopped when I thought I was a mile away. I found a hallow tree and hid inside and after hearing no footsteps following me I relaxed. Then, I remembered my arm bleeding quickly no doubt I would collapse by the loss of blood and no doubt I had left a trial of blood behind me. Kaminari would easily track me so I went to move to heal the wound and only heard an insect flying in front of my face as I watched the side of the tree come up against my face. I didn't feel anything as my sight blackened.
