Chapter 13- Village of Shadows
"Lee, I know you like Kagami-san but you need to leave her alone. It's late and I'm pretty sure she wants to go to bed," I said trying to pull Lee towards home. He gently pulled free and said that he had something important to talk to Kagami-san about and asked me to head home without him. Sighing I gave in and headed home; but I took my time enjoying the night as I went. Maybe I wouldn't go home just yet maybe I should take advantage of not being dead tired and just explore the village's night life. A gentle cool breeze picked up and I closed my eyes breathing in the fresh cool air. I'm definitely going to try cutting out of training early now so I can enjoy the night it's so beautiful. As I wandered around I saw shop owners closing and heading home, mothers calling for children who'd snuck out when their backs were turned, and nocturnal creatures stirring. It's so peaceful, I love it, and I might just change my sleeping pattern so I can stay out all night now. Yawning I changed direction and headed for the forest, I'm curious as to what it's like at night. Hmmmm, maybe I'll camp out tonight just to be mean to Lee, I thought slowly wondering through the shadowy forest. Hearing something in the tree tops I decided to climb up and see what it was. I got about half way up the tree when I saw…Kabuto! Startled I nearly fell but he turned and disappeared only to reappear behind be. "You will be useful bait since Kagami-chan doesn't seem to care about her sensei anymore," he said grabbing my arms, wrenching them behind me, and tying them together. Then he gagged me to be sure I wouldn't scream, and that's the last thing I remember before he knocked me out.

I groggily woke up and my head immediately started throbbing, it was dark but I could hear someone talking, "Yea, I've got someone else you can kill the sensei now. If she doesn't plant the evidence soon then I'm going to kill this one too. Then we'll see how long she'll refuse our…request." I recognized Kabuto's voice but couldn't tell where it was coming from. The only thing I could get strait in my muddled brain was that he had something bad to do with Kagami-san, that she and I were both in trouble. The last thought crossing my mind before I faded back into welcoming darkness was, I hope they notice I'm gone and Kagami-san comes up with a good plan.
