Disclaimer: If I owned Naruto, then the Dark Heart would train Naruto to be a super-badass. But I don't, so it only happens in fan fiction. Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto.

 

Chapter 3

Naruto opened his eyes. He was back in his bed room in Konoha. “It worked” he whispered. He took note of his surroundings. Everything was back to the way it was before he became a ninja. He got up and went to his living room. For the next hour he was performing hand signs, until finally he stopped and said “Forbidden Art: Quantum Summoning Jutsu; The Dark Heart.”

There was a puff of smoke and standing there was the Dark Heart, carrying a duffel bag.

“Took you long enough.” Said DH

“Sorry Teme-Sensei, but I got waylaid in the time stream. Some woman named Cosmos.”

“Ah yes, the Goddess of Time and Space. Well it couldn't be helped. Messing with the gods isn't something I really like doing. Oh well, Que Sera, Sera.”

“Ok, so what's in the bag Teme-Sensei?”

“Well let's see now,” he opened the bag and began pulling out items. “a shirt, some pants, a jacket, some fresh milk, though it will need to be refrigerated before you drink any, and a seal making kit.” He finished

“Ok”

“One more thing before I go.”

“Oh, what's that?”

“I will be placing a seal on you.”

“Which one? Are you going to give me a Chakra Array?”

“Heavens no. I want you to fit in, not stand out. My chakra arrays can be hidden because my Sensei designed them that way, but I only know the basics so I can't help you there. But I will give you the Mizuchi Seal. That's the one that allows you to see through Genjutsu, to negate Genjutsu, and counter the Byaakugan, Takingan, and Sharingan. I will also give you the Crazy Dragon Rising over the Moon Seal so as to allow you to maximize the floating ability I taught you to use with your Tenketsu points.”

“Oh, well that's good. When do you think your sensei will allow me to have a Chakra Array?”

“Probably never. Even the others don't have Chakra Arrays, and they have served more than you. He might enhance your Chakra coils if you're lucky, but the only way you're getting a Chakra Array is if Shinji-Kun gives you a temporary one.”

“Shinji-Kun?”

“Shinji Ikari, one of my Sensei's bastard children. He is an expert in arrays since now all he is an indestructible metal skeleton covered in arrays. Actually, it's through his arrays that he can manifest a shell similar to his original body for himself, and he can even manifest bodies for two of the four spirits sealed within him.”

“Oh, sounds kind of freaky.”

“I know, but he's a good kid, as long as EVA doesn't try to get control of his body and start fights. But luckily for him his mother's spirit keeps EVA in check with the help of the souls of his girl friends Asuka and Rei.”

“Wait, his girlfriends' souls are sealed within him?”

“Yes, it's quite crowded in their. But they were useful when I treated Alphonse Elric when his mind turned into a potato. Or was it a Radish? Oh well.”

“Your life is complicated.”

“You're telling me. Oh well, enough, time for bed.”
“Ok, good night”

 

The next day went as expected. Students succeeded where Naruto (supposedly) failed. Naruto sat on the swing outside the school. Mizuki approached him and explained about how if Naruto learned a Jutsu from the Hidden Scroll he would automatically become a ninja. Naruto bit into hook, line, and sinker (or so Mizuki thought).

Naruto went to the Hokage Tower. The secretary, as expected, ignored him. It was two hours later when the Hokage came out that he found out Naruto was there. “Naruto, what are you doing here?” asked the old man.

“I wanted to come talk to you about something” said Naruto

“Well come in” they walked into the Hokage's office.

“Take a seat” he said, so Naruto sat down (isn't minutia fun kids?)

“How long have you been here?”

“I came in 2 hours ago”

“That long? Why didn't you say something?”

“Your secretary said I could wait”

“She did, did she? I'll have to speak to her about it. So what's on your mind?”

“Is it true that if I learned a Jutsu from the Hidden Leaf Scroll then I would automatically become a Gennin?”

The Hokage gave Naruto a speculative look. “Prêt ell where did you hear that?”

“Just thought I would ask. I would have asked earlier but you were busy. I wanted to know if I could substitute a Shadow Clone for a Regular Clone.”

“If you're talking about the exams then no. The wording of the test requires a regular clone, not any others. But where prêt ell would you have learned how to perform the Shadow Clone Jutsu?”

“In the infamous words of my sensei… You wouldn't believe even if I told you.”

“I don't remember Iruka ever saying that.” The Hokage looked confused.

“That's because Iruka-Sensei isn't the one I'm talking about.”

“Then who are you talking about?”
“Just a man who prefers to be referred to by his title… the Dark Heart”

The Hokage sputtered “The Dark heart? When did you see him!?”
“Just last night in my apartment. And the time before was 10 years in the future. You see he used the Forbidden Art: Fire Void Style: Reverse Time Phoenix Jutsu on me so I could take care of a few things”

The Hokage sputtered again “He used WHAT!? Tell me everything Naruto, don't leave anything out”

Naruto explained to the Hokage the situation, how Oto and Suna will attack, how he will be killed, how the village will eventually fall.

“So, you've been sent back to make sure Konoha survives?”

“More or less. I'm also supposed to improve relations with Suna and gather allies. But the main focus is to protect my precious people.”

“And Mizuki wants you to steal the hidden scroll, correct?”

“Yes. But I won't have to. You're going to give it to me.”

“Why is that? Shouldn't I just arrest… Oh I see. The council might cause trouble if I arrest him on your say so. I have to have proof.”

“Exactly. That's why you're going to send two Anbu. One to track me, one to track Mizuki. Be careful though, Mizuki may be a pawn for Orochimaru.”

“What!?”

“Yeah. Teme-Sensei said that in one circumstance that he witnessed that Mizuki had one of Orochimaru's Cursed Seals. I want the Anbu to watch, but stay clear until I say so. I don't want Mizuki getting spooked and coming up with some lame excuse about trying to stop me, and how I threatened to release the fox.”

“I see. That makes sense. When are you supposed to meet Mizuki?”

“In 4 hours. I should probably get started. The first time I looked through it I only paid attention to the Shadow Clone Jutsu. I didn't actually look at anything else. It's probably a waste of time since Teme-Sensei taught me advanced versions of most of those Jutsus, and Seals really aren't my thing”

“Well you could just review and see what you don't have.”

“Yeah, you're right. Well let's get started”

 

Forest outside of Konoha

 

“Naruto, where are you?” yelled Iruka.

“Over here” yelled back a cheerful voice.

Iruka went towards that voice.

“Naruto, do you have any idea of what you have done?” yelled Iruka

“Yes, in fact I do. Far more than you know.”

“Wha…” Just then a Fuma Shuriken came out of nowhere and got caught in some nin wire.

“I wasn't expecting that” said Mizuki, who jumped in to retrieve the Fuma Shuriken. “Was expecting to get Iruka's head.

“What!?” yelled Iruka (he yells a lot)

“Don't worry Iruka, he won't hurt you”

“Stupid Gaki. How did you know?”

“Simple: I asked the Hokage if what you said was true.”

“You're more annoying than expected. I think I'll kill you both, blame Iruka's death on you, and get praised for killing the Kyuubi no Kitsune”

“MIZUKI YOU FOOL, IT'S FORBIDDEN TO SAY THAT!”

“Don't worry Iruka-Sensei, he's already worse than dead. I'm sure Ibiki-sama would like to talk to him” Naruto said while tapping on the scroll three times.

“Heh, how will they find out if you're both dead?”

“You're welcome to try, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve…” said Naruto nonchalantly.

“Then Die!” he yelled. Before he could do anything Naruto summoned five Shadow clones. The First one charged in and punched him in the face, sending him flying, then the original hopped up and jumped off the clones back, then three clones leaf hurricaned his ass into the air screaming “NA! RU! TO!” as the real Naruto delivered a kick to Mizuki's head yelling “Uzumaki Barrage!”

“Naruto? When did you learn that jutsu?” asked Iruka, thoroughly dazed by Naruto's ability to take out a Chuunin.

“You wouldn't believe me even if I told you” said Naruto, then he looked up into the trees “You can come out now” he yelled. Out of the trees jumped two Anbu, one with a Dog mask, the other with a raccoon mask. They proceeded to collect Mizuki and head off towards the village.

“How did you know there were Anbu up there?”

“Simple: I told them to be there.”

“What? I'm confused…”

“It's ok. I'll tell you later.” They then headed back to the village.

 

“So you see, we used Naruto to lure out Mizuki, who turned out to be an Iwa spy. We knew he would use Naruto as a distraction while he absconded with the scroll towards Rock Country. Since most of the village resents Naruto, they would have believed he ran away with the scroll out of spite and we would have focused on him, and ignore a lone traveler heading towards the border.” Said the Hokage. He was currently talking to the Konoha Council.

“So, you're saying you GAVE him the Scroll?” said one council member

“He never really had it. The Anbu I sent with him made sure he didn't do anything improper with the scroll. All Naruto did was look through the scroll so as to appear like he was training. When enough time passed he sat and waited for Mizuki. We weren't expecting Iruka to find him though.”

“So what. He still had the scroll. That is unaccep…” he started to say before a man with white, pupil-less eyes interrupted him.

“Stop hounding Sarutobi about Naruto. He obviously had everything under control. Now, as for the matter of Mizuki”

“But Hiashi…”

“No buts, that is a military matter, and as such beyond our purview. We are here to talk about Mizuki's Betrayal and violation of Sarutobi's Decree.”

“What is there to talk about? Its obvious Sarutobi made up some ridiculous story to save that thing from punishment. We should have executed for treason. And as far as Mizuki violating Sarutobi's Decree, what proof is there?”

“We got two Anbu, a Chuunin, and Naruto stating that he called him the Kyuubi no Kitsune.”

“humph, and pigs fly”

“That's it!!!” yelled Hiashi, “I am tired of your insubordination! We have told you multiple times to keep your opinions to your self. But now it seems you are only thinking of yourself. I call a Vote of No Confidence. Those against Santorum remaining on this council?” There were 7 yays, and 3 nays.

“The yays have it. You are hear by discharged from this council, Santorum Guya-Guya-Shitero. Anbu, take him away”

“What!? NOOOOO!!!!!” he yelled as he was dragged out.

“I believe that is all. The council shall now convene on Mizuki's punishment…”

 

The Next Day

 

The kids all showed up to their former class room to wait for team assignments.
“Ok students. The team assignments are as follows: Team 7 consists of Sasuke Uchiha” Sasuke humphed, “Sakura Haruno” Sakura squealed, while the other girls groaned, “And Naruto Uzumaki” the kids made a collective “HUH!?”.

“But Sensei,” Sakura said, “Naruto isn't even here, and he didn't even pass the test”

“But I am here” came a voice from above. They all looked up, and standing on the roof was none other than Naruto. But this Naruto was different. He no longer wore his orange jump suit. Instead he wore Navy Blue cargo pants, a mesh shirt, a dark blue jacket covered with red flames with the Uzumaki Swirl on the back. He wore his Hitai-Ite on his head as usual.

“So what about the other teams Iruka-Sensei?”

“Well, uh, Team 8 is Shino (can't remember his clan name), Kiba Inuzaka, and Hinata Hyuuga. Team 9 already exists so team 10 is Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Chouji (ditto).”

And so there were 27. Just wait.

 

 

So, how about them raiders? But seriously, please review. I am very lonely and need the company of reviews, positive or negative.

Like the reference to Shinji as a freaking Rune Skeleton? It's actually quite sweet. He is one of my… Modified characters. I occasionally find an anime or video game character and adopt them as one of my own. I don't really go far a field with them but with Shinji, it was a special case. I decided to seal his EVA and his soul into his skeleton by his biological father, the Chikage (holding out on him). The thing is that his mother's soul was already inside the EVA, so he had three souls sealed within him. Later on, in another reality, he sealed the souls of Asuka and Rei into his skeleton so as to save them from 3rd impact.

So in the mean time…
