Chapter 9

 

Konoha village…

The celebration for the new Hokage didn't quite go as planned. Everyone was quite pensive as the Godaime Hokage stated that the guest of honor that she had hinted at for the past week was none other than the village's number-one hyperactive, knucklehead ninja, Naruto Uzumaki. Most of the adults groaned at this announcement, seeing as how they thought so lowly of Naruto. But Naruto took it in stride. He's already seen it once, so he doesn't feel as sad about it. What he does feel bad about is that he can't eat at the banquet that was being held, seeing as how people would react negatively to his inhuman features. He just hoped that he could manage eating all by himself for the rest of his life, seeing as how no one would want to be around a monster… Right? Naruto wasn't very big on ceremonies any ways. He was always driven away from them when he was a kid. Hell, he knew that only 4 years ago he was beaten when he tried to go to the Hokage's birthday, and what made it worse, Sarutobi had personally invited him. So, he wasn't very big on parties and had no experience as what to do. It didn't help that people avoided him. How was he supposed to be a good Hokage when no one will teach him about political mumbo-jumbo. It saddened him. He knew that the Hokage had to dabble in politics, but no one was interested in a wrapped-up kid. He sighed “perhaps I should just give up while I'm ahead” he thought, “No one wants to talk to me. I mean, I convinced Baa-Chan to become Hokage, and they repay me by ignoring me. I should have asked Gaara how he puts up with it. But it's too late now.” He sighed again. He rested his face in his hands and pondered what he should do once Oto has been dealt with. “Maybe I could join a monastery? Nah, they wouldn't want a freak like me. Maybe a hermit? Nah, people would start spreading rumors and it would only be a matter of time before someone came to pick a fight. Perhaps I should write a book on the horrors of being a Jinchuurinki. I could probably get Gaara and Teme-sensei to coauthor, since they both know about being a Jinchuurinki. But… nah, Teme-sensei probably already has written a book about it, and Teme-Sensei is an expert on child abuse, so there is nothing to add in that field of study”

“Naruto-kun?” someone said next to him.

“Naruto looked up and saw a pale eyed girl in a kimono.

“Hi Hinata-Chan. What are you doing here?” he asked

“Father br-brought me and Hanabi to the celebration”

“Oh, politics. Well, it's nice to see a friendly face. No one has talked to me since the party began. I really should have stayed at home today”

“But Naruto-kun, you're the guest of honor. It would be rude not to show up” she said. “And besides, the Hokage needs to learn politics, Naruto-san” said someone from behind. It was a man with the same eyes as Hinata.

“Hi Hiashi-Sama. I already know that, but who wants to talk to the most hated child in Konoha? What about some one who has to wrap himself up so as to not frighten children. No, I think becoming Hokage would be a mistake” said Naruto

“Naruto-kun…” Hinata said

“Now, now Naruto-san” Hiashi said, “You know that you're one of the few who has any understanding what it means to be Hokage. You just can't give up on your dreams because of a few things going bad. If people did that then nothing would change, everything would stagnate”

“You're right Hiashi-Sama. I just shouldn't give up. It wouldn't be prudent. And besides, people might start thinking I was planning something bad if I all of a sudden changed my tune. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Perhaps we should talk some more some time later” said Naruto

“Yes, we should. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some political Wheeling and dealing to do” he said as he bowed and left.

“Your father seems nice”

“I know. H-he's been really supportive of me since the Chuunin exams”

“Perhaps this Hiashi won't go insane and slaughter his entire clan” Naruto thought.

The people at the part, however, thought differently.

“Why would Hiashi consort with that demon?”

“That Hyuuga girl dishonors her clan by consorting with that demon”

(Dark Heart: Well consort this! Combined Art: Rasengan-Chidori: Rolling Thunder [slams a Rasengan in his right hand into a Chidori in his left, creating an arc of electricity that bounces around frying people])

 

Meanwhile…

 

Tsunade was furious. She had just learned the hard way how much the village despises Naruto. She had just been told by Hiashi that every one was not only avoiding Naruto, but questioning Tsunade's Viability as Hokage for favoring the Demon Brat.

“How could they do this to him? He's supposed to be a hero. Instead they treat him like an outcast. If I had known they would treat him this way I would have stayed and raised him myself” she thought, “At least Hiashi and his daughter care”

 

Back to Hinata and Naruto…

 

He was beside himself. Here was the younger version of the girl he cared for back in his timeline. He was hopeful she wouldn't have her mind destroyed, since in his reality, she was permanently comatose from shellshock. “I should show her what I am, be merciful and break her heart now instead of her seeing me during a mission. It wouldn't do in a life and death situation for her to be distracted by my appearance” he thought, “But how do I tell her? Hey, Hinata, you look good in a kimono. Oh, by the way, I'm a freak of nature with the Kyuubi inside me. You want to dance? No, maybe I can have Baa-Chan never team me with her. That would probably be the best… No, I'd have to show her sometime so that she can move on, find another love”

“Wh-what are you thinking about, Naruto-kun?” asked Hinata

“Oh, nothing. I was just wondering about something I have to deal with”

“Oh, ok… Hey, isn't that the Sand girl from the Chuunin exams?” Hinata asked, pointing at a girl with four ponytails

“Yeah, it is…” he replied

It was then that Temari noticed them. “Oh, it's you” she yelled and went over to Naruto and Hinata.

“I was wondering where you were. It was a surprise when you invited me and Gaara to the celebration” she said

“Naruto invited her? Does that mean…” Hinata thought

“Well, I just thought that the future Kazekage and his sister should be here to greet the new Hokage” he replied

“Yeah, I guess it makes sense. Oh, by the way, I would like to thank you for that book you gave to Gaara. Just what is in it that would make him settle down?”

“It's my old diary. I thought it would help stabilize him, since we're both Jinchuurinki”

“I guess that makes sense Naruto-kun”

He caught the honorific “Not her too” he thought, “I don't need fan girls… OH SHIT! I forgot that on my sixteenth birthday I'm going to get fan girls attracted to the prestige of being married to HIS son”

“Uh, yeah… so how is Gaara?”

“He's doing ok. That book you gave him helped a lot. I can't thank you enough for that”

 

After the Party…

 

“What's on your mind?” asked Jiraiya

“Naruto is. Why didn't you tell me they hated him?” Tsunade replied

“I didn't actually know until we got back. I've been gone almost as long as you, so I didn't know that the village would despise him so. I mean, Arashi told them explicitly he was to be treated as a hero. This is a betrayal of the 4th Hokage as it is a betrayal of Naruto. Especially do to that little fact I mentioned the other day. I really would have preferred if Sarutobi had adopted Naruto. At least then people wouldn't have beaten him”

“Beaten him!? You mean Naruto has been abused!?” she yelled

“Kakashi informed me just this morning. Apparently he's been beaten constantly since he was 4 years old. The Anbu tried the best they could, but the council ruled that they could only interfere if his life was on the line. The clan-heads tried as hard as they could to make protecting Naruto a high priority, but the other council members, especially the civilians, fought tooth and nail to avoid the fact that he even existed. It was only a threat from Sarutobi to execute the entire extended family of those responsible for Naruto's death that prevented them from demanding he be executed. Naruto never had a chance of a normal childhood before, and now with his transformation, he probably will never gain the support of anyone except his friends, who by the way, are all going to be their families' clan heads when their parents retire, and that automatically means a seat on the council. Once Naruto's 16th birthday comes about, he will gain his own seat on the council, due to who his father was. The civilian sector isn't going to be happy if Naruto becomes Hokage, no matter who his father was. It's only a matter of time before loyal ninja begin assassination attempts on Naruto so as to head off his becoming Hokage. They were expecting Sarutobi's replacement to have Naruto executed, not embrace him with open arms. This whole thing is going to get messy real soon”

 

Else where…

 

“Damnit Naruto” thought Sasuke, “How did that Dobe get so Powerful? Why would he be important to Itachi? Why would he get training from a Sannin? And why would he be selected to retrieve Tsunade? I'm the better ninja. I need power. Orochimaru gave me this mark. Perhaps he can give me power

 

At Naruto's Apartment…

 

He hated it. Why did Jackals have to eat so much damn meat? Now, Naruto wasn't adverse to eating meat. But having to eat raw meat in such large quantities was annoying him. He couldn't even eat it with Ramen. And that pissed him off. You see, he has to feed each of his parts individually. His main body had kept his normal dietary habits. His right arm was ok, he could feed it with energy, either chakra or electricity. But his left side required raw, uncooked meat. His left side did not react well to anything but raw meat, so he was stuck eating raw ham. At least it wasn't as gross as having to eat fresh meat, unlike a wolf. Now that would suck, having to eat the meat of an animal killed within the past hour. And that usually meant eating it off the carcass. So he glad he at least didn't have to eat from a corpse. “Oh well, the price of power” he thought to himself.

 

A month later…

 

Sasuke was gone. The last report was he went into the forest and was captured by the Sound Four. Shikamaru was selected to lead the mission to retrieve Sasuke. They sent the Rookie 9 and Team Gai. Team Sabaku aided them, as a debt of gratitude for the revelation of the death of their father. Naruto led Hinata, Haku, and Temari to find Sasuke while the rest dealt with the Sound Four. They were separated when Tayuya attacked. Hinata, Haku, and Temari sent Naruto ahead to retrieve Sasuke, who seemed to be running towards the border for some reason.

“Sasuke where are you going, Konoha is in the other direction!” Naruto yelled

“I'm leaving. I want power; the only one who can give it to me is Orochimaru” said Sasuke

“So you're going to betray us? You're going to leave your home so as to live with a lunatic with a god-complex? You are aware that he only wants you for your body! When you are powerful enough to kill Itachi he is going to steal your body and put his mind in it! Are you really foolish enough to believe he will let you actually kill Itachi?” Naruto said

“I don't care! I only want to kill Itachi!”

“I won't let you leave. You're going back to the village NOW!”

“You can't stop me! You're too weak! Chidori!” he then formed a Chidori and charged Naruto, who jumped out of the way. Sasuke drove it into a tree, causing an explosion. Through the smoke Naruto heard the sound of shuriken flying through the air. He knew from the sound they weren't heading for him, but off to the sides “What's he doing?” Naruto thought. It was too late for him to realize the nin-wire that was attached to each shuriken, which tied him to a tree.

“Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!” Sasuke roared as he breathed a massive jet of fire at Naruto. The blast burned through Naruto's bandages (he wasn't wearing his jacket), incinerating them. When the flames died down Sasuke noticed Naruto's inhuman features. “You really are a freak! Chidori!” he yelled. It was then that Sakura arrived “Sasuke! What are you doing to Naruto!” she yelled

He turned to her “I hate you, you stupid bitch! Always hounding me. I'm going to enjoy this!” he yelled as he charged her, his Chidori blazing

“Sakura! NO!!!” Naruto yelled as he burst through the Nin-Wire and ran to intercept the Chidori. The pain was indescribable. He got hit with a Chidori again, for the second time in his life. It sucked.

“NARUTO!!!” screamed Sakura.

Sasuke just laughed as he ran away. “I killed that worthless Dobe, now let us see Orochimaru” he thought.

Hina-Haku-Tem arrived afterwards. They ran towards Sakura, who was weeping over Naruto.

“What happened!” asked Temari

“Sasuke tried to kill me, but Naruto jumped in the way and took the Chidori to his heart. Now he's dead!” she cried even more. They all began to cry. What Sakura said was true: There was a hole in Naruto's chest where his heart should be. It was then that they noticed his features. They lifted him and headed back to Konoha. When they arrived at the hospital the doctors refused them Entry. “That monster has no business here!” They were sadly mistaken. Tsunade had arrived “What happened to him!?”

“Sasuke put a Chidori through his heart” Sakura said, as she began to weep

“Well then take him into the hospital!”

“They won't let us. They said they won't treat a monster. Look at him! Those bastards don't care that he saved their lives from Shukaku!” said Temari

“I will deal with this. Follow me!” she then marched into the hospital. “I need a room for this patient here, now!” she yelled

“I'm sorry, but we don't treat his kind” the doctor said

“I just gave an order! I'm the Hokage!”

“I could care less! Look at him! He's not even hum…” he started to say when Hinata punched him in the face.

“How dare you say that about Naruto-kun!? He fought for this village, the same people who hate him! He was willing to sacrifice his life to protect us” she said

“You stupid little bitch! That-that thing isn't even human! He has no business liv…” he started say again when Haku and Temari double teamed him. There was a sickening sound as they tore both his arms from the sockets. He screamed.

“Enough girls. I'll find us a room!” yelled Tsunade, “I will deal with him later”

They then ran through the hospital until they got where the Gennin were at. They all looked surprised when Tsunade ran in and shooed them out of the operating room, and were shocked when Sakura, Hinata, Haku, and Temari ran in with a blood covered Naruto. They took him into the operating room, then after a while they came out.

“What the FUCK happened to him!?” yelled Kankuro

“That bastard Sasuke attacked Sakura with his Chidori, so Naruto intercepted it with his heart. I'm going to kill that bastard for what he did to Naruto-kun!” yelled a visibly pissed Hinata.

There was a collective “WHAT!?” from the gennin. “Why would Sasuke do such a thing!?” they all thought.

It was perhaps an hour later when Tsunade stepped out. “He's alive”

There was a collective sigh of relief.

“I don't know how, but his arms are supplying him with life giving energy. I don't know how long until they give out, but he's alive for now”

Just then Kakashi, Kurenai, Asuma, Gai, and Baki arrived.

“We just heard Naruto was brought in. Is he ok?” asked Kakashi

Tsunade explained to them the situation.

“How did this happen?”

“Naruto took a Chidori to the heart to protect Sakura” said Hinata

“How did this happen!?” yelled Kakashi

“I think Sasuke was defect to the sound” said Temari

“What!?” yelled Kakashi, again

“It was something that bitch with the flute said. She said they were here to escort Sasuke to Oto. They would only do that if Sasuke was willing. Otherwise she would have said retrieving or kidnapping, not escorting”

Just then, a tall man entered who was giving off a palpable killing intent. “Where is Naruto?” he said, emotionless.

“He is in there, Chikage. What do you wish of him?” Kakashi asked

“How badly is he hurt?”

“His heart has been destroyed. All that is keeping him alive is the otherworldly energies of his arms”

“I see… then I'm going to have act quickly so he doesn't die” he turned to Tsunade, “Let's go” he said as he walked into the operating room. He looked at Naruto with an analytical eye. “First things first. I am going to have to activate his right arm. With the influx of energy he should be able to last longer” he said as he began examining the arm in question. He then began pumping his entire Chakra reserves into it. “That should do for now. Now we need to get him a new heart. Do to the changes in his body since becoming a Jinchuurinki I can't just clone him a heart and implant it. And the Kyuubi currently is unable to regenerate what isn't there, so I'm going to have to do something fairly exotic”

“What is that?” she asked

“The only thing that would do is a Cosmic Ruby, modified for Chakra. It will increase his already incredible stamina, and will allow him to store more Chakra. The only problem is that it's going to have to be a big one. Anyone will be able to see it if he doesn't cover his left breast. Don't ask any questions. Time is of the essence” He then opened a black hole in front of him and pulled out a large spherical ruby. He then shoved it into the hole in Naruto's chest while speaking an incantation. The ruby slid in smoothly, despite being larger than the hole, and fused with his body. “There. That should do it. Now, I'm going to need to take Naruto. He needs to learn to use the ruby, and he can only learn it from two of my minions, who are unfortunately not permitted to leave Chigakure. Don't worry, he will be back for his sixteenth birthday.” He said as he picked up Naruto and went outside. “You all better get a good look at Naruto. You're not going to see him for the next three years”

“Why is that?” asked Kakashi

“Because he has to become more powerful, and who better to train him than a Kage?” he answered.

 

 

WTF!? Naruto got himself decimated again. How could this be? And why was the Chikage there? The next chapter occurs after a 3 year time-shift, so don't think that I missed some chapters. I'm sorry, but I got the coolest idea for how Naruto looks, so I need to take time skip. Sorry to disappoint those who have read the manga or seen more of the anime than what has played on Cartoon Network.

Please review. I haven't gotten any new reviews and I feel unappreciated. It's a feeling that I hate since I got it from the Dollar Tree when they fired me after a week. Those bastards. They sought me out purposely, and then discard me because I was to slow. They already knew I was going to be slow, so why would they hire me? Santorum eating freaks. So, until next time…
