Chapter 5

The Loss of a Loved one

 

Seth running through the forest while heading back to his home to see what the hell the Ninja was telling him about his wife. He stopped and noticed blood on the ground, a lot of it was on the ground and a portion of a body imprint can be seen what was once there. Continued to race back home, he hoped that all of this is nothing other than his wife cut down some other rouge ninja. Seth coming out of the clear landing on the ground stirring up dirt from his feet, something didn't seem right, in fact bad. He really didn't want to deal with anything bad; walking into his house already something wasn't right as he didn't see either of his caretakers of his house around, or his son Talon. Looking down when his nose caught a faint smell of iron, following the droplets to his bedroom seeing his bedroom door half way closed. Seth forced the door open causing the door to hit the wall, vibrating it causing some stuff once on the mini shelves to fall and break.

 

He saw his wife lining on the bed, but looked closer to realize that she wasn't breathing. Gavin was sitting on the hardwood floor and still holding onto his dead sister's hand with his head buried. Gavin must of sat there for a while, once he heard that Seth got home he tried to get up, and managed to do so for the second time. Now on his feet and rubbing his face he quietly walked out of the bedroom to leave Seth and his Deceased wife alone. Seth shut the door and made his way to Lilith. He reached out to touch her face, only to feel that she's cold, Seth picks her up and realizes that her body was starting to stiffen up. He laid Lilith back down on the bed. He over heard his son running down the hallway like he usually does and to go into his parent's bedroom to be with his mother. Seth had no idea what to say to his 2-year-old son. Now the reality was hitting Seth big time. Realizing that Lilith is Dead, now it's just him and his son Talon. Another snap shot memory reminding him of Lilith coming up to him all excited and telling him that she was caring their second child.

 

Seth blaming himself for not being there like he should have done and should also never would have had his wife to join in a battle. In Lilith's condition, she was just starting to show. An over whelming of pain took over him, he known pain, death but this time hit him hard and Seth had no idea how to break from it. The major crushing blow to him is not only the loss of his wife, but also to their child that would have had a chance, but now its too late.

 

~*~ Flash back~*~

 

“Mommy, when will Daddy & unky Gavwin come home?” asked Talon sitting next to his mother on the bed. “Soon, why?” asked Lilith as she was caressing her little baby bump. “Well, I have some medicine that might help Daddy so he doesn't get sick again.” Said Talon showing his mother his toy bottle in pink-labeled medicine, Lilith started to laugh. “Aww, how sweat, don't worry Talon Daddy is ok. He's just going through sympathy pains.” Said Lilith laughing more. Talon tried to repeat what she just said but struggled to get the wording right, but failed at it. “It means that he's going through the same aches and pains as me.” Said Lilith.

 

“Is there a baby in there?” asked Talon resting his tiny hand on his mother's baby bump. “Yes there is.” Lilith watching her son resting his head on her stomach. “I think this one is a girl mommy; and I'm going to be her big brother.” Said Talon. Together they heard both Seth & Gavin walking in the house. “Honey.. I'm home! What's to eat?” said Gavin teasing knowing that sets off Seth. “Oh no! If its foul, count me out.” Said Seth already feeling sick thinking about slight odors. “Hmm I can just smell that hot peppered chili add some cheese and auh..” before Gavin could finish Seth took off what he was teasing him about the foods again.

 

“Gavin… stop teasing Seth!” yelled Lilith yet she was laughing at the same time. Seth comes into the bedroom and sees both his wife & son on the bed. “Mommy is going to have a baby girl, I'm going to be the big brother.” Said Talon sitting up near his mother. Seth trying his best hide his nauseous feeling, walking up to the bed crawling on the bed to be next to Lilith & Talon. “Oh and just how can you tell this is what mommy is having.” Asked Seth. “Because the heart beat is faster, boys heartbeats are slower.” Said Talon. Seth placing his hand on his son's head and messing his hair a bit. “Oh really, looks like Talon will become a medic in the future.” Said Seth. Gavin comes in the bedroom to get Talon and put him to bed. “Talon, ready to patrol the area!, and be on the look out of rouge ninjas?” asked Gavin playfully. Talon getting off the bed running to Gavin. “Yesh Unky Gavwin, I shall use my sonic force jutsu!” said Talon all geared up but knows full well that this whole staged thing is really mean t for him to get ready for bed.

 

Seth got off the bed only to close the bedroom door, and got back on the bed. “So, your still getting sympathy pains?” asked Lilith. “That is so not funny, feeling sick and throwing up.. this really sucks.” Said Seth looking a bit ill still. Lilith couldn't resist. “OMG your pregnant!” said Lilith teasing poor Seth. Making a sarcastic facial expression at Lilith. “No… I'm not” said Seth. He lies down on the bed to be next to his wife. “Haa, if feels good… I think I will sleep for a week.” said Seth relaxing and placing his hand on Lilith's baby bump.

 

~*~ End of Flash Back ~*~

 

Everything was gone, Lilith, and their unborn baby both no longer will be around. Seth wanted to hold on to both his wife & their unborn child, but he cannot, he came home too late. Too late to be with them, too late to hold, and far too late to say he was sorry and good-bye. Haunted memories of what happened in the past few weeks and further back to when their son was born, all of those memories was killing him.

 

After a few hours, Seth stepped out of the bedroom to let Gavin & the Caretakers know of what needed to be done. Once that was settled he knew that he had to give his son the horrible news of his mommy and unborn baby are dead. Looking around, Seth didn't see Talon, thinking back he remembered where his son would hang out. Seth heading out side and also became more worried of what someone might do to his son. Running half way he stopped to over hear a tiny voice and crying. Seth followed the familiar sound. There he found his son, and the poor kid was getting himself sick. Seth felt even more like shit, now seeing his son sitting on the ground with is pet Jazz a yellow cat holding on to his pet & crying. Talon sees his Father. Seth walks over to his son and picked him up, while the yellow cat began to fallow Seth around. The weather got darker and Seth wanted to head back home, caring his son back at the house. Only difference is that Seth made sure that he went right to his son's bedroom.

 

On his way in the house, and halfway down the hallway Seth stopped to see the one bedroom that was getting prepped for the baby. Seth turned away felling like something stabbed him in his heart hard. Now walking inside of Talon's room the yellow cat sat on the little kid's chair. Jazz knew something bad really happened. Talon clutched on his father tightly, Seth tried his best to calm his son down. “Why daddy.. (Talon's voice cracking) Why would someone do a mean thing to mommy? ( Talon cries more) Mommy…mommy…” a horse scream and dry voice coming from Talon. Seth trying to settle his son down by rocking him as he sat on the hard floor. It hurt Seth even more when his own son calling out for his mother when she's really gone.
