The Chunin Exam: Second Test
-----------------------------------------
Hinata was facing a man, heavily built. He looked very much like an expert in taijutsu. Wonder what his blood line limit is. Hinata thought while scrutinizing her opponent, about three times bigger than her in size. He didn't smile or blinked. All he did was returned her scrutiny with a wink. This one's going to be though. I hate perky ones. Samo's not underestimating his `cute' opponent. He saw what she did to the Mist guy. He knew she was dangerous.
Above them the audiences were screaming wildly. Only those who knew the Hyuuga ordeal shook at the sight of their former heiress, now alive. Hiashi, Hanabi and Neji were sitting among the landlords. Please don't embarrass us. That was all that ran through Hanabi's mind. She always saw her sister as a failure, becoming heiress was a great triumph. Hinata's not going to take that away from me. Why did she come back? Hanabi kept her thoughts to herself. Hiashi was anxious to see her fight, hoping for some improvement and also concerned for the Hyuuga reputation. Neji on the other hand was worried for his cousin. Worried at what she has become. Please ancestors, let this go well. He silently prayed.
At the field, the battle begun. Samo launched a dozen shuriken towards his enemy from both sides. Trying to corner her into his trap. He needed to make this quick. Taking a long time with an opponent this little was going to be laughed about when he returned home. In a quick movement he was behind her now, waiting for her to dodge the shuriken attack.
Hmph, that's not going to work. Hinata smirked.
“Kaiten” instantly a huge whirlwind of blue chakra formed around as she spun around reflecting all the shuriken.
What? Samo quickly jumped a few steps behind to avoid his own reflected shuriken.
She's strong. Hah! Let's finish it now, this one will surely take her down. Plan B. Samo formed a few hand seals.
Instantly a huge dark cloud formed above the sky, and thundering sounds were heard.
Hinata looked up taken surprised by the new jutsu.
“Arrgh!” Samo yelled as he motioned his arms and blue thunder strike down one at the time aiming for the target.
Hinata did some summersaults to avoid the deadly chakra.
“Too slow!” he yelled. A blue thunder larger than the rest landed on the ground barely missing the moving target.
Hinata smiled at the thought of him missing after making such a bold statement.
She thought too soon.
The blue thunder bounced of the ground and went straight towards her. She gasped in horror, as she avoided every attack. Left, right, up, down, left, right. It was too fast. Hinata's feet gave way, the thunder caught up. Samo smirked.
“Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!” Hinata yelled as the thunder hit her from the back lighting her up into blue flames. The audience shot back in shock that the target was hit.
Neji stood up in concern, Hiashi tensed on his seat and Hanabi only blinked, while a majority of the audience held their breathe. All those who knew Hinata were worried. From the looks of it, that blue thunder was deadly.
“She's still burning!” an audience yelled.
What seemed like forever, when the blue fire faded. The strike darkened the ground and at it's centre stood a hunching figure. As the dust from the ground cleared, the crowd shot back in realization that the girl was- still standing.
Unharmed.
Hinata lifted her head with a smile on her face. Her eyes were white. Upon seeing this all Hyuuga present at the arena knew something was terribly wrong.
“That was energetic.” She made a statement looking eyes closed, at her opponent dusting her sleeves.
Samo shot back in shock. There's no way she could have done that! No one escapes The Rain of Thunder. Ever! He was practically screaming in his mind.
Eyes still closed she yelled to him.
“Chakra fused attacks don't work on me. You should know that by now.” Hinata open her eyes to stare at the shocked man. Smiling. He was trembling.
“Weak” She commented.
That statement snapped Samo out of shock reminding him about his reputation.
“Fine, he smiled back. I'll just take you down the hard way.” He launched at her with strong, ground cracking blows.
“Big mistake” Hinata whispered.
He missed all of his attacks and was panting already.
His last attempt was caught by her left hand. (Gloved one) She grinds evilly.
“Juukin” Blue chakra flowed from her hand into him. The big man was shot ten meters back and landed on his back.
All the audience shot back on their seats.
Kakashi among all the other jounins were watching the entire match since it had begun.
“All her attacks were Hyuuga” Asuma commented.
“Who would have knew she had so much potential. Guess those years away had done her good.” Gai replied.
I knew she could do it. Kurenai silently congratulated her ex subordinate.
“Kurenai, what are you hiding? What is it that you have not told us?” Kakashi bluntly asked catching everyone by surprise.
“What are you talking about Kakashi?” Kurenai asked.
An awkward moment passed till all their attentions were pulled back to the battle field. Apparently, the battle's not over.
Samo stood up, coughing off the blood in his respiratory system.
“What? Not enough?” Hinata asked evilly.
No one missed it, in fact they were quite surprised that the once timid Hinata would challenge an opponent not to mention, provoking him.
Hinata stepped closer to him. Her left hand was glowing with blue chakra.
“I give up” he yelled and collapsed to the ground. Hinata stopped.
Apparently, not many notice the change in Hinata, for all they cared it was a good show. Something worth remembering. Hyuuga Hinata. That name would stick in their minds for quite some time.
The crowd roared and cheered as Hinata smiled at them. She waved gently at them, forgetting the excitement before. For a moment there she blushed. Neji saw that. His eyes never left her.
Glancing towards his uncle, Hiashi was smiling. He seemed proud of her. Neji's eyebrow's tensed.
“Hiashi sama. May I have a word with you?” Neji asked politely.
“Yes, Neji what is it?”
“Hinata_”
“Yes, she has indeed grown stronger. You better buck up, her Kaiten's already catching up with yours. How can you let your student surpass you?” Hiashi asked.
“What do you mean?” Neji asked, confused.
“Oh stop being so humble. Teaching Hinata Kaiten was very noble, I will remember that.” Hiashi patted Neji on the shoulder.
“Hiashi sama. I didn't.” Neji replied.
The two Hyuuga exchanged glances then took a look at the battlefield. The mark left on the ground was still there. But they didn't notice it before. The ground was not like a normal Kaiten blow, it had a swivel marking around it.
It was something different.

Stupid thunder. The real thunder blacked out my house. Thank God there was a backup recovery. I love Microsoft.
