A single lid fluttered open, revealing a dark brown eye, then quickly shut once exposed to the blinding light that filled the small bedroom. The eye had shut so tightly it triggered a sharp pain from the “X” shaped scar around it.
“Who turned on the lights….?” Tyson wondered aloud while stifling a yawn.
“Time to get up.” Was all he heard from a familiar voice he knew to be his mother's.
He turned his head to the side to see a retreating form exiting his room and entering the hall.
`Always waking me up at the worst time.' He mused to himself.
Using his arms to push himself upright, he let out a tired groan, fusing a yawn in there somewhere. Without even bothering to take the covers off his legs, he threw them over the side of the bed and stood, his arms being shot in the air in a stretch. Once his muscles felt relaxed, he began to walk towards the bathroom, but felt something prevent his legs from moving, causing him to fall flat on his face. “Ooof!”
Once the dull pain escaped, he felt drowsiness gently flowing over him, his eyes closing. He snuggled in to a fallen pillow and drifted off in to sleep.
“Tyson!” A stern call from his mother made his eyes widen ten times their normal size.
Needless to say, her calls startled the shit out of him.
His eyes lifted from the ground to see his mother leering down at him. With one last death glare, she turned and once again made her way out the room.
Yeah…that glare was indication enough for Tyson to get his lazy ass up and ready.
Exhaling a long, drown out breath, Tyson kicked off the bed sheets that were entangled with his legs and pushed himself up with his hands, on to his feet. Once his hazy vision finally sharpened, he managed to drag his feet to the bathroom. Once there, the first thing he did was head for the toilet to, what he called, “pour some lemonade.”
Ah…sweet release…
Almost done….
Just as he was about to pull his pants up, he stopped to the sounds of…laughter?
`What the…?'
He turned his head slightly to the right, to where a small window was…open? `Ah shit.' Tyson's eyes widened, his face red hot with embarrassment. Outside were a group of girls, pointing and laughing directly at Tyson.
“What the…?”
Quickly, with almost inhumane speed, Tyson pulled up his pants and jerked down the raised curtain. He heard the laughter begin to fade as he dragged a hand through his dark brown hair.
Tyson hated being laughed at. `Just what the hell was so funny anyway?!'
He shook his head, not wanting to damage his pride by finding the real reason behind the laughter, whatever it may be. `Certainly not…'
“Tyson…hurry!” The voice of his mother interrupted his thoughts, causing him to jump slightly.
`Better hurry before she has a heart attack.' He thought venomously to himself.
When he finally got dressed, he left the house. Of course that was after spending an hour deciding on what to where. Hey, vanity came with a price. He did realize how late he was, but lacked the ability to realize how this would affect him.
Walking towards the place where he would meet his team and two best friends, he kept a steady pace. He didn't want to be late, and for some reason thought he still had time to be punctual.
So clueless…
When he arrived at the meeting place, he noticed that once again, he was the last one to arrive.
He strode up to his fellow teammates, a large grin plastering his face as he try to hide how incredibly tired he was.
“Hey!”
Fay appeared to wince at the sound of Tyson's incredibly loud voice.
“Hn.” She grunted, folding her arms and leaning lazily against the tall tree behind her.
Tyson rolled his eyes and turned to Roy.
“Hey buddy!”
Roy smiled slightly, clutching the light blue teddy bear his held to his chest.
“Hi, Tyson.”
Tyson grinned once more and turned his attention to Keno, instantly frowning.
“What now?”
The red eyed teacher arched an eyebrow.
“What do you mean?”
Tyson huffed, impatiently tapping his foot on the ground, arms crossed.
“What stupid, D ranked mission do you have for us today?”
He narrowed his eyes and cleared his throat.
“I was going to tell you that there are no missions for you today but since you're so ungrateful…”
Tyson's eyes went wide for a split second before he began waving his arms about frantically.
“No, no, no! What I meant to say was-“
“Save it.” He interrupted. “You're all dismissed.
With that he walked away.
Fay sighed, pushing herself off the tree she had been leaning on.
“I hate getting up early for him to dismiss us…” She muttered to herself, rubbing her temples with both hands.
Tyson rubbed the back of his head. “What now?”
Roy shrugged. “Go back to sleep?”
Shaking his head, Tyson patted his friend playfully on the back.
“I'm wide awake now, buddy. You two are just gonna have to put up with me for today.”
Fay rolled her and shoved her hands in her pockets before she began walking away.
“Great…” Were her faded words as she walked.
“Aw, C'mon!” Tyson began walking after her, Roy right behind him. “Let's do something.”
Roy turned to Tyson, who was right beside him. “There's nothing to do here when we're not on any missions.”
“Then let's go eat!” Tyson beamed excitedly. “I'm so hungry!”
Fay stopped walking and turned her head to the two without fully turning around.
“That's the smartest thing you've said all morning.”
Roy chuckled. “Where to?”
Tyson shrugged.
“Ramen?” Roy suggested.
Tyson's face cringed in to a look of distaste, as if he had eaten some bad food.
“Ugh…I hate that crap! Besides…that knucklehead is probably there.”
“What's your problem with him?” Roy inquired.
“He's. A. Knucklehead.” Was all he said before he began walking again.
Roy sighed and turned to Fay, who for some reason was just standing there staring off in to nothing as she always did. She was so weird sometimes.
“I wonder how long they're gonna feud…?”
Fay's green eyed gaze shifted to Roy, a look of utter indifference stuck on her face.
“Until they both suffer something fierce because of their stupidity.”
Roy laughed, recalling all the suffering they both did already due to stupid pranks and arguments between the two.
“Considering who we're dealing with…that should be fairly soon.”
Fay nodded. “Yeah.”
Tyson had been walking quite a few feet ahead of his two childhood friends, his mood starting to sour a little bit; the mention of Naruto usually did that to him.
That idiotic knucklehead…
Tyson turned his head in the direction of his friends, not bothering to stop; he felt a little bad for ignoring them for ten minutes.
He opened his mouth to say something, but all he got out was a, “He-“, before accidentally ramming in to someone, crying out “Watch it!” as he did so.
Once he turned and his eyes set on the person that plowed in to him, only to frown in distaste. “Damn, Naruto…walk much?”
Naruto gritted his teeth, glaring daggers at Tyson. “Why the hell don't you watch where you're going, idiot!”
Tyson's eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms defiantly across his chest, the `x' shaped scar on his left eye popping out like veins. “You're the one who bumped in to me, knucklehead.”
“Idiot!” He spat at the brunet.
Roy and Fay finally caught up, both sighing at the scene before them. Tyson and Naruto were getting in to another argument it seemed.
Tyson rolled his eyes. “Go suck a lemon, Naruto. I don't have time to deal with your stupidity.” He grinned. “Besides, I don't want your lack of talent to rub off on me.”
Naruto's mouth formed a frown, only to purse back in to a smirk. “Said the guy who only knows one ninjutsu.”
Tyson clenched his teeth, growling a bit as he tightened his hands in to fists. Before he could respond, not that he knew what he was going to say, Roy and Fay grabbed his arms and started pulling him away from Naruto before things got hairy.
“Calm down, Tyson.” Roy warned gently.
Tyson struggled, his head turning back to look at Naruto, who was waving with a cocky grin. `I hate that knucklehead.'
Back with Naruto, he was thinking something similar. `I hate that idiot.'
