Chapter 19: Chunin Exam Number Two: Start!

“Come on nee-chan!” The little boy called, “You promise to help Shiro and I when you were done!”
“I'm coming…” The girl replied. “It's been not even half an hour since I took the first Chunin exam and I already have to teach kids…”
“Ray-nee-chan!” Rayne sigh.
“You go ahead first, I'll catch up after I pick up the ramen.” Mitsu grinned but dashed off towards the woods. Rayne walked toward the Ichiraku Ramen.
“Hey! Ray-nee-chan!” She heard, not even taking a step in yet. She look toward the voice to see her whole team sitting in a booth.
“What are you guys doing here?” She asked.
“We were looking for you but we couldn't find you anywhere!” Naruto said happily, “We spent the last half an hour looking for you because you left us after the exam! We wanted to come eat here since we pass!” Rayne glance at the other three people on her team from where she was sitting, next to Naruto and across from Sasuke. Sasuke was looking bored as usual, Sakura trying to get him to walk her home, and Kakashi-sensei reading his perverted book. She look back at Naruto and said sheepishly,
“Sorry Naru, Mitsu was there and asked me to help them train. I was only suppose to come here to pick up ramen for them.”
“Oh.” Naruto said, then rubbed his chin, “Who are you suppose to help train?”
“Mitsu and Ryuko Shiro.” Rayne replied, getting up.
“Oh!! I know what we can do!” The team looked at Naruto as he continued, “We can come with you to help you train them!” The team looked at him like he was crazy.
“Ehehe… thanks but you don't have to Naru.” Rayne picks up the ramen containers and faced the team. “Ja.” She then started to walk away.
“Wait.” The team stopped, and turns toward the voice.
“What?”
“We don't mind going, really.” Sakura said, looking down slightly. Rayne tilted her head to the side,
“Why?”
“Well… uh… we… we past this together so… we should eat and celebrate together, right?” She said, trying to think of a reason. Rayne sigh.
“Alright… if you guys really wanna come. Just hurry up.” The four people nods got their ramen packed and follow Rayne into the woods. Suddenly, two a shuriken and a kunai flew out of the trees toward Rayne. She did a flip while trying to hold onto the packed ramen. With one hand holding the package, the other took out four kunais. She threw two into the clearing in front of her then threw the other two as she was falling, making the first two kunais change directions.
“Ahhh!” the other three people in Rayne's team heard. Rayne landed, walked ant put the ramen on the stump and went to the trees. The team followed her to find Mitsu and Shiro pinned to a tree. Rayne smirk,
"So boys, having fun?" The two glared at her. She let them down and they ate ramen together, congratulating the four genins passing the first Chunin exam.

SKIPPING TO NEXT DAY…

"Wh-what is this place...?" Naruto asked astonished. Team seven and all the rest of the passing candidates stood in front of a forest. Not any normal forest however. The tree trunks were the size of buildings. The darkness lingered along everything, dancing along to a deceiving song. Even the wind that blew the hair across their face signaled bad news.
"Welcome to the Forest of Death," Anko said, stepping in front of the genin hiding the 'Foribidded Area' sign hanging on the fence in front of the forest. "This is where the second exam will take place."
"Forest of Death?" Naruto repeated.
"Sounds welcoming," Rayne mutter, running her hand in her hair. Rayne sensed something and looked past Sasuke. On the ground was a...she twitched. A square rock? Naruto looked at the "rock" too, eye twitching.
“Is that suppose to be rock?” Naruto started walking. The rock followed. Naruto stopped. The rock stopped. Naruto began to run back and forth, faster and faster. The rock ran after Naruto, faster and faster. After a moment Naruto stopped and rounded on the rock that had also stopped. Naruto pointed a finger at the rock.
"Hey Konohamaru! Come out! What do you think you're doing here! Everyone knows rocks aren't square!" Rayne sweatdropped.
“Did he complete miss the fact that the rock is MOVING?”
"Good job detecting me boss, I should have suspected." In a flash of light and a puff of smoke, the "rock" was gone. In its place it revealed three children. Rayne sighed, it was Konohamaru and his two little friends. The three stopped coughing and started their introductions.
"The one who possesses the sex appeal of an adult and the female ninja from the group, Moegi!" Rayne pulled Sasuke shirt, making him look at her. She leans in and said quietly,
“Someone' going to be a fangirl slut…” he smirk.
“Heh.”
“The one who loves dividing math, Udon!” Sasuke now lean down toward Rayne.
“Nerd.” Rayne nod.
"The village's number one genious ninja, Konohamaru!" They both face each other,
“Another Naruto…” Sakura noticed the last exchange of words and frown.
“Do they have some kind of connection? NO! I won't let Rayne take away MY Sasuke!” The three forms together in a group pose. "And together, we make the Konohamaru ninja squad!"
"What do you three want?" Naruto asked, putting his arms behind his head. "I'm about to take the second part of the Chuunin Exam, I don't have time to play with you."
"We didn't come here to play! We're on official business," Konohamaru said.
"Business?" Naruto asked, opening his eyes.
"We're here for an interview for the school newspaper," Konohamaru explained, his two friends nodded from behind him.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Anko walked over to the group.
"Konohamaru is doing an interview for the school newspaper," Naruto said.
"Huh? Oooh," Anko put her hand behind her head laughing. "Yes I forgot, the Hokage did mention something about that." Everyone sweatdropped.
"Forgot...?"
"Alright! We will be taking a ten minute break! We will resume afterwards!" Anko announced. Sakura and Sasuke all sat under the shade of a tree. Rayne sat on top of a large rock, Sasuke sitting against it. Sakura stood against the trunk of the tree. The three of them watched Naruto talking to the young reporters several feet away.
"He's probably just talking about himself..." Sakura said, a slight amount of bitterness in her voice.
"Probably..." Sasuke and Rayne said at the same time.
"Alright, so I'm Uzumaki Naruto. I'm, of course, a ninja of the Hidden Village of Konoha. My hobby is pulling pranks. I love ramen and became a genin just recently but you watch, I'm going to become better than all of the Hokages. In the academy I was always called a 'dropout' and other names but I was able to graduate and am a member of Kakashi-sensei's squad seven and I do difficult missions everyday. Sasuke, Sakura and Rayne are in the squad too but I'm the best so don't worry about them," Naruto introduced.
"Don't say that, introduce them too," Konohamaru said.
"Alright, alright. Uchiha Sasuke, he's the most conceited person you'll ever meet. He's a survivor of the famous Uchiha clan but he's really just a miserable guy that mopes around," Naruto spoke. "Then there's Haruno Sakura, the girl that's in love with me. She hasn't openly come out with her feelings but for sure, they're there."
"Are you sure boss?" Konohamaru asked, eyebrow raised.
"Yes yes. I'm quite sure. Now, there's also Kouseki Rayne. She's one of my only friends and I have to protect her ALL the time. If I had a say, I'd say she has a secret fedish for me too-"
"Boss, stick to the truths," Udon interrupted.
"I am!" Naruto defended. The three young ninjas just stared.
"A-anyway, the four of us do dangerous missions all the time. And with that, I've even defeated the "great" Hokage by preforming my famous Sexy no Jutsu. "
"Boss...you talk about yourself too much..." Konohamaru said.
"Well of course! I'm the main character here! Who cares about the others!" Naruto said.
"The readers!" Konohamaru argued.
"Alright. fine! There is Iruka-sensei, teacher at the academy. He's the first person to actually recognize me and a good person. He treats me to ramen often," Naruto said.
"Next," Moegi stated.
"Okay...well I could talk about the time Sasuke screwed up..." Rayne, Sasuke and Sakura twitched, catching some of the words Naruto was saying.
"Is anybody else finding that the school newspaper is going to be full of crap?" Rayne asked, eye twitching at Naruto. Sakura and Sasuke nodded slightly. They all perked their heads up as the Konohamaru gang walked over to them.
"Excuse me," Moegi walked over to Rayne and Sakura. Rayne slid off of the rock, leaning against it beside Sasuke. "Rayne, Sakura, you are the two kunoichis I admire most, mind if I interview you?"
"No! I want to interview Rayne!" Konohamaru exclaimed, stepping up beside her. Rayne sweatdropped. Konohamaru took her hand and pulled her over to another tree. Sasuke's eyes followed her curiously. She leaned against the tree trunk as Konohamaru began his interview.
"Well, of course, I'm Kouseki Rayne. I'm a part of Hatake Kakashi's team. I'm part of the only four-manned squad here. But trust me, we have just as much of an advantage as anyone else here and-" She stopped looking over at Sakura who was simply beaming and pointing this way and that. She frowned.
"Something wrong?" Konohamaru asked. She looked down to him. "Follow me..." She walked over back to the group.
"And being the greatest kunoichi of this team, I would know about the great Uchiha Sasuke best. I-" Rayne cut Sakura off by transforming into her.
"I know everything because I have a great stalker ability! I bet I could even tell you what color boxers he's wearing right now! I worship Sasuke! In fact, at night I touch myself when I think of him and-"
“RAYNE!!!!" Rayne laughed hysterically, changing back into her original form. Sakura twitched as she stood a foot from her, shaking with anger. Sasuke had moved himself further from his group, pretending he was part of a different squad. Udon walked over to Sasuke.
“You're Uchiha Sasuke! I want to be just like you when I'm older! Can I get an interview with you?" Sasuke hned.
"I guess someone has to set the stories straight. The only person who would be close to telling you the truth would be Rayne and that still leaves me with doubts."
"My name is Uchiha Sasuke. My team consists of the jounin Hatake Kakashi, Uzumaki Naruto, Haruno Sakura and Kouseki Rayne. I contain the most skill on this team-"
"Aw Sasuke, I thought you were setting stories straight." Rayne said, chin on his shoulder and an arm around his other shoulder. Sasuke moved a bit making her almost lose her balance. However, she regain her position by having her left arm on his right shoulder and laid her head on it. She smiled at Udon.
"Don't take everything Sasuke says seriously. He graduated top MALE rookie but I graduate top FEMALE rookie so we're equal. Right Sasuke?" Sasuke hn and looked at her.
“Why are you hanging on to me like that?” Rayne looked at him, thought for a moment, then gave a devilish grin.
“Because, Sasuke-kun I love you sooooo much!” She said, squealing like a fangirl. She then jumped on his back like how Ino did the day before, kiss his right cheek, swing around so she was facing him and hug him with her arm around his neck to make it seem like they were hugging. She looked at him after what she did, along with Udon to see… a blushing Sasuke! It seems like he was frozen in thought for a moment.
“What was that about?!” He shouted, taking a step or two away from her. Udon sniff and Rayne pointed at Sasuke, laughing out loud now. This earned the attention with some other peoples as well, meaning the other genin team and the mist team.
“You- you should've seen your face! It was all pink and… and…” she finally stop and stood up, smirking. “Admit it, you were blushing!” Rayne said then she turn and was about to run but Sasuke growl, grabbed her wrist (the same one with that had a red mark yesterday, it went away) and glared at her, which she return with the devilish grin.
“What's going on between you two?” Udon ask, “Are you two going out?” Rayne and Sasuke face Udon.
“No, I just like to tease him and this is the easiest way to tease him.” Rayne answer while Sasuke also add,
“And it's an easy way to make me mad.” Udon was about to say something else but…
"Hey Sasuke! Stop making me look bad!" Naruto shouted, walking over with Konohamaru trailing behind.
"You don't need me for that bakka," Sasuke countered.
"Sasuke!"
"Naruto!"
"Sasuke!"
"Naruto!"
"Paco!" Rayne yelled randomly, making the two look at her in confusion.
"Hey guys, quit it! At least we made it this far right? Besides, we need to be a strong team or who knows what will happen in the forest," Sakura said, walking over with Moegi. Sasuke and Naruto turned away from each other without another word.
"Well thanks for the interviews boss!" Konohamaru blew Rayne a kiss as he, Udon and Moegi disappeared in a puff of smoke. Well actually, there was no disappearing, they just threw colorful smoke bombs and ran off.
“Did Konohamaru just blew you a kiss?” Sakura asked. Rayne nodded dumbly,
“Yeah.” She then try to walk to the other side of Naruto but felt she couldn't move because of a hand. She turns back toward Sasuke. Sakura and Naruto finally notice Sasuke's hand holding Rayne's wrist.
“Mind letting go?” Sasuke smirk.
“Yes.”
“Let go.”
“This is punishment,” Sasuke lean in closer to her. “For before.” Rayne scowl but let Sasuke drag her toward the entrance gate with an angry Sakura and Naruto following behind them.
“Sasuke! Let go of Ray-nee-chan!” Naruto shout.
“Sasuke-kun why are you holding her wrist?” Sakura ask `innocently' to him.
“That's a good question, Sasuke-kun.” Rayne comment while being drag to the entrance gate. Sasuke glared.
“Stop calling me that.”
“Why not Sasuke-kun?”
“Because you're sounding like a fangirl.”
“What if I want to sound like one?” Sasuke stop and pulled her close so Naruto and Sakura can't hear.
“I don't want you to sound like one. I want…” Sasuke paused but didn't say anything and continue walking while pulling her. Rayne tilt her head in confusion.
What did he mean? What did he want?” She shook off the thought.
“Alright so when we get in there what are we gonna do? Are we just gonna wait or something? Or maybe we should go find a team an-” Rayne's mumbling was interrupted by the rest of the team saying,
“Stop rambling.”
"Such sweet tempered friends I have," Rayne said, grinning at them. They looked at her like she was crazy but continue walking. Once they were close enough to the point were people will see Sasuke holding Rayne's wrist, he let go.
"This sure is a creepy place...." Sakura squeaked as everyone was once again assembled in a large group in front of the forest. Anko grinned as she stared at everyone.
"Once in side you will all be able to experience why this place is called the Forest of Death." Rayne sighed.
“Anko, playing up the dramatics as usual....”
"And once you're inside you'll be able to experience why this place is called the Forest of Death," Naruto mocked, thrusting his hips out and wiggling up and down. Sasuke rubbed his temples.
"There's no point in trying to spook us! You're not gunna scare me away!" Naruto yelled with a satisfied smirk.
"Oh really? Well aren't you energetic?" Anko smiled, quickly slipping out a kunai and thrusting it at Naruto. The kunai whipped right past his cheek opened a scratch. Blood dripped from Naruto's wound as the kunai pierced the ground feet behind Rayne. Anko appeared behind Naruto.
"It's boys like you that die first. After spilling the red blood I love all over the place." Anko was about to remove some of Naruto's blood with her finger but instead whipped out another kunai. She halted however when a boy from the grass village extended his tongue, handing Anko her kunai from before. Rayne twitched.
“Disgusting…” She mutter with Sakura nodding in agreement. The person's tongue was longer than usual, more than two feet as it held the kunai out. Anko just smiled, accepting her kunai back. Rayne made gagging signs making Sasuke turn his head to look at her.
"Thank you," Anko said with a smile as she took her kunai from the ninja. The grass nin's tongue flew back into their mouth. "But don't stand behind me like that; unless you want to die young."
"Gomen. I got excited at the sight of blood. And you cut my hair," the ninja spoke. The grass ninja smiled and began to walk away. As they passed Rayne, they licked their lips and before Rayne can blink, she was seeing their backs. Noticing also, Sasuke also stared after the grass ninja.
"Well, it looks like we have some very hot-headed candidates this year," Anko spoke with a smirk. "This is going to be interesting." Naruto glared up at Anko, hand over his wound.
“You're the most hot-headed person here crazy lady...” Anko walked back to the fence, standing in front of a yellow sign that read 'WARNING: YOU MAY DIE'
"Now, before we start the second exam, I'm going to pass these out to everyone," Anko reached into her long coat and pulled out a stack of papers. 'CONSENT FORM' it read on the top. Anko handed it to someone who took a sheet and pass it along. When it reached Rayne, she took a paper and passed it on to Sasuke. She looked down to the paper in her hands and skimmed through it. She looked up as Anko spoke.
"If you are going to take this exam, you must sign these."
"Why?" Naruto asked, obviously not having read his form. Anko smiled.
"Just so we have your consent that if you die it is not our fault." The color drained from many of the genin's faces. Rayne stood with a bored expression.
"Now, you will all be going through this extreme survival match.," Anko stared.
“A survival match eh? Troublesome....” Shikamaru thought with a yawn.
"First," Anko unraveled a map of the Forest of Death. "I'll explain the training area's geographical features. This forest has 44 locked gate entrances all around the area. There's a river, a forest and a tower in the middle. The tower is approximately 10 KM from the gate entrances. Inside this limited space you will have to go through a difficult survival program."
"Survival program?" Ino questioned.
"The survival program where anything goes." Anko put the map away and pulled out two scrols. One was a cream color with the symbol of Heaven written on it. The other was black with the symbol for Earth written on it.
“Scrolls?" Naruto asked.
"Yes, you will be fighting for these scrolls," Anko held out the creme-colored scroll. "The scroll of heaven." she held up the black one. "The scroll of earth."
"26 teams passed the first exam. Half of those teams will recieve a Scroll of Heaven. The other half will get the Scroll of Earth. Each team will start out with either one of these. You must fight over them."
"What's needed to pass?" Sasuke asked.
"Bring the Scroll of Heaven and Earth to the tower with your teammates," Anko answered.
"Okay, so say my team starts out with the Scroll of Heaven. We have to keep that safe and in our posession and then we have to fight a team to obtain their Scroll of Earth? Then make it to the tower with our team?" Rayne asked.
"That's correct. You must have both scrolls and your whole team must make it to the tower," Anko confirmed.
"So this guarantees half of the candidates will be wiped out..." Sakura realized.
"And this all has to happen in a time limit. The second exams lasts a limit of 120 hours," Anko said. Everyone's jaw dropped. “A whole five days in there!?”
"But what about food!?" paniced Chouji from somewhere to the team's left.
"The Forest will provide you with everything you need," Anko responded. Rayne groaned. “Troublesome...”
"But there are a lot of man-eating beasts, poison bug and poisonous plants," Kabuto informed.
"Whoot! Go Kabuto! Way to encourage us!" Rayne sarcastically cheered. A few people snickered.
"So it's not possible for 13 teams to pass," Neji informed.
"As time passes, you will be required to move more and more," Lee said. "So your time of rest will be shorter and shorter."
"And we're surrounded by enemies. We won't be able to sleep in peace," Sasuke realized from beside Rayne. She glance at him.
“When did you get there?”
“Right now.”
"People will get hurt in the process of fighting over a scroll as well," Anko stated.
"Can we quit in-between?" Shikamaru asked. Rayne looked over. “Typical Shika question...”
"Once you are in the forest, you must be in there for the duration of the time," Anko answered.
"Just as I thought," Shikamaru complained, arms crossed. "How troublesome."
"While were on the topic, here are the conditions that will fail you. First," Anko held up a finger. "A team who cannot bring both scrolls to the tower with all their teammates will fail. Second, a team that loses a teammate or produces an unrecoverable teammate will fail. Also, just as a note, you are not allowed to look inside the scrolls until you reach the tower. "
"What happens if we look?" Naruto asked.
"That's a surprise to whomever dares to peek," Anko said with a sly grin. "If you become a Chunin, you will be handling top secret documents. It's to determine your reliability. That's all I will say. We will exchange your consent forms for your team scroll and then you will pick a gate to enter through. Everyone will get a ten minute recess and then we will all begin at the same time." Anko looked up at all the candidates,
"And one last piece of advice...DON'T DIE!" This scared Sakura and Naruto.
“D-don't die?! Are we really going to die!?” Nauto shouted.
“That's why it's call `The Forest of Death' stupid.” He heard someone say behind him. He turned around to see Ichiro from before. Rayne and Sasuke also turn around. Sasuke and Ichiro instantly glaring at each other.
“Geez… you guys are so troublesome…” Rayne mutter, walking to get forms for them, Sakura following. When they were out of hearing distance Naruto look at both of the boys.
“What's going on here…?”
“Nothing dobe.” Sasuke reply while Ichiro glare at Naruto.

----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------

"Sign here...." Rayne's pencil made a scratching sound. "Sign here....and here and....oh this is pointless! They're the same words in different wording!" Rayne glared at the paper as she finished scratching her name onto the consent form and putting the pencil down on the rock she was sitting on. Ichiro went away to his team, Naruto was trying to get Sakura to acknowledge him while Sakura dragged Sasuke with her to who knows where land. Rayne sighed as she closed her eyes.
"Leave it up to Anko-chan to waste our time...."
"I'm glad someone figured it out." She opened her eyes to find Anko grinning, standing in front of her. She smiled.
"Konichiwa Anko-chan."
"Oh Rayne-chan, it's been a while," Anko said beaming and holding out her hand. She took her hand to shake it only to be pulled into a bone-crushing hug.
"Please Anko-chan, there's people watching," Rayne whined returning the hug with a less tightening force. Anko let out a short chuckle and let her go. She jumped off the rock to retrieve her consent form that had fluttered to the ground. Picking it up and standing straight she smiled slightly at the purple-haired woman.
"What?" Anko asked nervously.
"Man...I haven't seen you in like...forever."
"I know, it's been far too long Rayne-chan." She nodded.
"It's nice to see my okaa-chan."
"Mom?" Sasuke ask. Rayne jumped. She turned to look to her left where the raven-haired boy was standing.
"When did you get here!?"
"A minute ago..." Sasuke looked at Anko. "You called her 'mom'...." Rayne laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her head.
"Well actually...she kind of adopted me..."
“Adopted you…?" Sasuke raised and eyebrow staring at Anko again. Rayne and Anko stared at each other a second before shifting their eyes suspiciously.
"Uh...anyway....is there something you wanted?" Rayne asked looking back to Sasuke. “Or do you just like to sneak up on me?” Sasuke seemed to shake his head, as though snapping out of his thoughts.
"I was just going to say Sakura and Ino are at it again but they seem to be fine now..." Sasuke said looking over to where Shikamaru and Chouji stood terrified as Ino stalked past them. Rayne sighed.
"That's it? I thought it was something important..."
"You do realize they will kill each other one of these days?" Sasuke reminded her.
"Like I said, get me when there's something important going on..." she repeated. Anko snickered from in front of her.
“About the sneaking up part,” Sasuke face Rayne. “You sneak up on me more that I sneak up on you.” Rayne cross her arms.
“Do not. Name one time I did.”
“Earlier during the interview.”
“I couldn't resist then, besides, I was helping you get the facts straight.”
“You're impossible.” Rayne said with a sigh and putting her arms down. Sasuke snort.
“And you're not?”
“Nope, not at all!” Sasuke was about to reply but Anko shouted,
"It's time to trade your forms in for a scroll!" a man announced from a booth closed by a curtain. A few other chunins took down the curtain as teams started to go over to exchange their forms for the needed scrolls. Sasuke glanced at Rayne. She nodded.
"What's your name?" Anko asked Sasuke as he began to walk towards the booth. Sasuke looked back at Anko who adopted Rayne before finally responding.
"Uchiha Sasuke..." Anko nodded thoughtfully and Sasuke gave Rayne a funny look. She shrugged and Sasuke kept going.
"Well, I better get going," Rayne told Anko, bringing her from her thoughts.
"Hm...oh yes, go catch up to him," Anko said absentmindedly. Although it was a simple statement, it seems like there was something more to it.
"Catch up to him…?”Rayne asked confused.
"What? I mean..." Anko quickly cleared up her "mistake" ,"I meant Sasuke, your boyfriend." Rayne's eye twitched.
"I don't care for him that way...." Anko stared at her, spunk had left her eyes, they turned hard. "You will...."
"Huh?" Rayne asked confused. Anko shook her head and began to walk away. "Please...I hope it never comes..." Rayne stared after Anko, the wind gently blowing the hair across her face.

"Alright! I'm ready! Believe it!" Naruto yelled, pumping his fist in the air.
"We believe it," Sakura said annoyed, standing next to Sasuke and him. For the past three minutes Team seven had stood in front of gate 12. Sasuke had been elected to hide the heaven scroll in his backpack. Naruto continued to jump around.
"Come on Naruto, save your energy until we actually get in the forest," Sakura complained.
"No shit," Rayne agreed.

GATE 16

Akamaru barked.
"Yeah! Surviving's our specialty!" Kiba exclaimed. "Hinata, you better not go easy on anyone." Hinata looked up and softly nodded.

GATE 27
"It's troublesome but we have to put our life on the line for this," Shikamaru said. Chouji rummaged through his backpack.
"Let's what I have...potatoe chips, cake..." Ino twitched as she watched her teammate count off all the food he had packed.

GATE 2
"I'm worried..." Mitsuko said softly, her back to her three teammates, staring bast the gate into the forest.
"Do not worry, all will be fine," Ichiro said, a smirk set upon his young face.
"You have a plan?" Yayori asked, eyebrow raised. Chikara turned to face his teammates as Ichiro closed his eyes.
"Rayne-sama..." Ichiro smirked again, opening his eyes. "Seems impatient, correct?"

GATE 20
“The time has come...to accomplish our task," Dosu spoke underneath the bandages covering his face. Zaku and Kin smirked.

GATE 38

Kobuto smirked, his two teammates eagerly waiting behind him.

GATE 6
"Don't take this too far Gaara," Kankuro warned. Gaara remained silent and Temari sighed.

GATE 15
"So we're going after the rookies first, right?" a grass-nin asked, looking at his team members. The grass-nin from earlier smirked.
"It seems we can kill them here, it will become easier."

GATE 41

Gai-sensei! I will get through this! Watch me! Lee exclaimed in his head, fire in his eyes. Neji and Tenten smirked.

The team watched the chunin unlock the gate. It was a long 30 seconds before everyone heard Anko announce,
"We will now begin the second exam of the Chunin Exams!" Everyone burst through the gates, taking a running start.
"Find the kids!" the grass nin spoke as they sped into the forest.
"Those four right!?" her teammate asked.

"Alright! Let's go!" Naruto exclaimed as the team walked into the forest, smirks set upon their faces.

"Alright Hinata, do your stuff," Kiba spoke as he and his team stopped in a clearing. Hinata nodded.
"Byukagan!"

"Don't be hasty Lee. The exam has just begun," Neji spoke from behind Lee as the quickly jumped from tree to tree.
"I know. But I cannot stay still thinking of all the strong enemies that await us!" Neji smirked.

"Don't forget the targets," Dosu told his team as they too, hopped through the forest.

"What are you doing Chouji!?" Ino asked with disbelief. Chouji sat on the ground, opening a bag of chips. Shikamaru stopped walking and looked back at Chouji.
"Timeout. I'm tired. It's time to eat!" Chouji announced, mouth watering.
"It's only been five minutes!" Ino walked closer to Chouji as did Shikamaru. Chouji spit his tounge out and turned around.
"Well it can't be helped, I'm hungry!"
"If you packed less snacks maybe you could pack more kunai!" Ino complained.
"Geez....Ino hide!" Shikamaru suddenly exclaimed. Ino quickly jumped into the bushes. Dragging Chouji along, Shikamaru followed suite. Three ninja jumped down, heads turning this way and that. Shikamaru stared out through the bushes. It seemed all was fine, then Shikamaru spotted a chip that Chouji had dropped.
Crap! To Shikamaru's surprise, and relief. The ninja did not notice the single chip. Shikamaru sighed. “Man, five more days of this...

Three ninja halted on a large tree branch as they watched three rookies. They remained silent as they listened.
"First of all, everyone is going towards the tower, right?" Kiba's voice sounded through the clearing. "That means it would be smart to set traps in the vicinity of the tower." It was silent a moment after Akamaru barked. Koba smirked.
"Hear that? Looks like we've got one already..."
"Where are they?" Shino asked in his quiet voice. One of the ninjas listening, a rain nin, smirked. "They're just kids. They're in the open, they're just begging for an attack."
"They've found out presence..." one of the ninja spoke. The last team member smirked.
“They have not found our location." All of a sudden the first ninja turned blue. Weird sounds came from him, making his teammates worry.
"W-what's wrong? And what's in your shirt!?" The team members watched as a large bumb moved up the ninja's coat and stay by the neck. The hood fell to reveal a large leech.
"Wh-what is that!?" the ninjas shouted. In a split seconds, dozens upon dozens of leeches the size of cats, fell. It wasn't long at all before the leeches cover the ninjas' bodies, sucking the blood, and life from them. Back in the clearing, Shino watched, the killing reflecting in his black glasses. Anko smirked, standing outside of the forest. "This is gunna be fun..."

Team seven stopped walking.
"Did...did you guys hear a scream?" Sakura asked. The team looked backwards.
"Yeah...so?" Rayne asked, bored. The team watched as a large flock of birds took off from a section of the forest to their right.
"I'm starting to get nervous..." Sakura said, looking over at Sasuke and Rayne.
Rayne shrugged. "As long as it doesn't interfere with surviving..."
"How can you be so calm at a time like this!?" Sakura asked.
"What is there to be freaked out about? We're not being attacked. Just chill..." Sakura didn't argue but she put on a worried expression and breathed deeply through her nose.
"Yeah Rayne's right Sakura! We're gunna be fine!" Naruto beamed, turning to face the three of them who were behind him. It was then quiet for a moment; the only sound being the loud noises of a bird. Naruto then suddenly ran to a tree.
"I need to pee!" Sakura ran over to Naruto, clunking him on the head before he could undo his pants.
"Idiot! Not in front of me you don't!"
"Please Sasuke, PLEASE tell me you have more etiquette than Naruto..." Rayne muttered, closing her eyes and scooting behind Sasuke. Sasuke just closed his eyes and looked down at his teammate's stupidity.
"What is wrong with you!? Go behind a tree!" Sakura scolded.
"Ah! That's better! I wrote my whole name!" Naruto exclaimed, finally reappearing from behind a tree.
"I refuse to touch any part of him..." Rayne muttered from next to Sasuke, eye twitching.
"Shut up in front of me, Naruto!" Sakura yelled. Sasuke was next to Rayne and suddenly he wasn't as he quickly reappeared behind Naruto, punching him under the chin and sending him flying into the nearest tree.
"Sasuke! You didn't have to go that far!" Sakura exclaimed as politely as possible, staring at Sasuke with disbelief.
"What the hell, Sasuke!?" Narutu yelled, wiping at his mouth. Shuriken pierced the tree on both sides of Naruto's head. Rayne stared at him, death in her eyes.
“Rayen!" Sakura yelled at her. Sasuke went after Naruto again, kicking him. As Naruto flew up, he grabbed onto a tree branch. Rayne met him up there, sending a kick that he barely missed and falling towards the ground where both she and Sasuke met him, kicking him and he hit the ground hard. Rayne and Sasuke landed side by side feet away as Naruto stood.
"Wh-what the hell!?"
"Sasuke! Rayne!" Sakura yelled, horror in her eyes as Sasuke went after Naruto again, this time, a kunai in hand.
"Fine!" Naruto stood up, getting out a kunai as well and running at Sasuke.
"Sasuke! Naruto! STOP!" Sakura yelled as the two boys fought, kunais clashing against each other.
"Sakura!" Sakura stopped and looked over as Rayne's sharp voice pierced the air. She looked to her. "Take a look at Naruto..." Sakura looked over at Naruto who was now standing feet away from Sasuke.
"Spill, where's the real Naruto?" Sasuke asked coldly.
"R-real Naruto?" Sakura asked confused.
"What are you talking about!?" Naruto yelled.
Rayne narrowed her eyes. "Don't play stupid."
"Huh?" Naruto asked confused.
"Your kunai holster, Naruto is right handed. Seeing as though Mitsu is a lefty I know that your holster is in the wrong leg.” Rayne spoke, a shuriken raised in her hand.
"And that cut you received from Anko earlier, did that just mysteriously heal?" Sasuke asked, voice cold. Sakura gasped as she looked at Naruto. It was true. The cut on Naruto's face was gone. And you were right, Naruto did have his kunai holster on the wrong leg.
"Naruto" chuckled. "So you figured me out."
"It wasn't that hard. Your replication jutsu is worse than Naruto's," Sasuke spoke to the imposter. The imposter chuckled again before Naruto's image disappeared in a puff of smoke. As the white smoke ebbed away, a rain ninja in a yellow suite with a weird gas mask on appeared. Rayne's free hand clenched into a fist.
