A/N: Hello dear readers. I have had many questions via email asking if there will be a pairing in this fanfic involving Naruto. Right now, no, there are no plans on a romance being made. But if I do make plans for a pairing, expect the female of the Naruto/? to be an OC.

Chapter 6

**

“Dismissed”

 

The 3 remaining members of Team 7 walked out of the Hokage's office and into the hallway. It was here that Sasuke glared at the other two and spoke.

 

“Look, I don't care what happens to Naruto or about this stupid mission. All I care about is how Naruto got so strong, and then eliminating him”

 

“Uh, sure” was the annoyingly uninterested reply from Kakashi.

 

“Of course Sasuke-kun. We must kill the traitor to Konoha before he does us” Sakura said whilst staring at her crush. `After Naruto is out of the way, Sasuke-kun will be all mine'

 

“Hey, look you two. You will not do anything to endanger the mission's success. By doing what you just said you would, not only are you disobeying a direct order from Hokage-sama herself, but you are doing exactly what he wants you to. You would be unintentionally gaining the power he used to kill your clan”

 

“Whatever”

 

And deciding to leave things at that, they ran off to collect their supplies for the mission ahead.

Naruto and Gaara had recently crossed the Wind country border alongside Kyuubi when the Kitsune spoke.

 

“As much as im enjoying the company, im going back to my cage before we enter the Stone Village” Kyuubi said with a hint of sarcasm before disappearing.

 

“My apologies for asking, Ninth, but have you thought of what you are going to call us?” Gaara questioned, before turning to Naruto.

 

“Well to be honest, I've only thought of one. But I was thinking of asking the others first”

 

“But you are the leader of this organisation of ours, aren't you?”

 

“Well, I was thinking perhaps we could call ourselves Akumade” Naruto said, waiting for what Gaara would say. A name wasn't exactly on his to-do list but it was nevertheless important.

 

Gaara smiled. “Very creative. Almost reminds me of how you fight. Oh and by the way, since we are kind of adopting Akatsuki's clothing, then perhaps we should wear covering on how heads to hide our appearance”

 

“I see that great minds think alike” Naruto said before he opened his bag and pulled out what appeared to be two black face masks. One thing Naruto had to admit was that Akatsuki were smart when it came to keeping their identity hidden. Also, he didn't want to go out of his way to buy clothes so he used the masks that Kakashi gave him for his birthday. At first he thought they were a joke, but Kakashi almost wanted Naruto as a mini-him.

 

“Keep this on as of now. On the way to the Sand, I was identified by a group of ninja that had seen my picture in the latest Bingo book. Needless to say, I would much rather keep a low profile when we enter villages”

 

“Of course”

Konoha gates

**

A fully prepared Team 7 were just now leaving Konoha for their mission. Tsunade had made a last minute precaution and insisted that Neji accompany them. This did simplify things a lot, but Kakashi couldn't help but feel uneasy about the mystery Hyuuga outside the Hokage's office.

 

“Neji, I thank you for accompanying us, but this mission could be a lot more dangerous then you think”

 

Sasuke interrupted him and glared at Sakura. “If you should be telling anyone this, tell Sakura. She has to be the worst rookie kunoichi in Konoha. She may be intelligent but she doesn't even have any jutsu that she can call her own. I mean, look at her family. Their bloodline limit is pink hair”

 

Sakura couldn't help but die a little inside. Not because it was Sasuke telling her this, but because it was true. The only jutsu she uses in combat are jutsu that all ninja know. About the only talent she has is for Genjutsu.

 

Kakashi sighed as he looked over at Sakura. “Very smooth Sasuke”

 

“Thank you sensei”

 

Kakashi sweat-dropped. Maybe it was true that without Naruto their team was gloomy.

“Kakashi, Itachi and his partner are after Naruto are they not?” After Kakashi nodded, Sasuke continued. “Well, what will we do if we find them or any of their other friends?”

 

“Well, let's just hope we don't find Itachi. As I've been told, he is one of the strongest of the nine Akatsuki members. That means as long as Naruto is finding Jinchuuriki that Akatsuki are unaware of, we should be safe”

 

“Jinchuuriki?”

 

“Crap. Well, I've already said too much…so what's a little more information? Jinchuuriki means `Power of human sacrifice' and they are what contain the Nine Bijuu”

 

“So these Jinchuuriki are what Naruto is after?” Sasuke said, getting more and more interested.

 

“That's what we assume. All of these Bijuu have enough power to wipe out an entire Hidden Village. Their identities are unknown to Konoha except for two. One of which is Gaara, the other is-”

 

“Naruto” It wasn't Sasuke who answered, but Neji.

 

“And just how do you know that?” Kakashi said, drawing a kunai which went unnoticed to the other 3.

 

“That, im afraid, I cannot tell you”

 

Kakashi jumped to the side and held the kunai to Neji's neck.

 

“The fact that you know an S-class secret at the age you are now gives me every right to kill you on the Sandaime Hokage's orders. Now, how do you know?”

 

“All I was told is that if I am to ever see Naruto again, I am to restrain and bring him back to the Hyuuga compound. Hyuuga-sama told me what's inside Naruto and what he is. Other then that, I know nothing”

 

`And just why would Neji be asked to bring Naruto to the Hyuuga compound rather then to Hokage-sama? Does this have something to do with that man outside Hokage-sama's office?' Kakashi thought and lowered the kunai before taking point and resuming their running.

 

“What Neji said is true. Naruto contains the same Kyuubi that attacked Konoha for reasons unknown. This is what Akatsuki are after, not Naruto. Most, if not all of the Bijuu have been sealed within a human and remain that way until extracted, or set free. It is also unknown if Akatsuki have yet to capture any yet, but all we know is that this is their primary objective”

 

`So that's why the dobe is so strong. But how can I compete with him knowing this?' Sasuke was angry, so angry he didn't care that his chakra was flaring. Sakura, on the other hand was shocked. But not from what she had just heard. She was still trying to get over what Sasuke said to her.

 

“If you have any more questions, I will explain later but for now, we need to hurry. Before Naruto and Gaara left, Kankuro heard Gaara say that he knew where another Jinchuuriki is. It is the Rokubi and it is in the Stone Village. By now, Naruto and Gaara should be just outside the Wind country so we might have enough time to catch up”

In River Country

**

Zetsu was now standing in the centre of a cave with two others. One of which was Deidara, the other Sasori in his puppet Hiruko. They were standing in silence when a holographic figure appeared in front of them.

 

“Master, I have some information I gained on my way back from the Sand” Zetsu said whilst looking straight at Pein.

 

“And you came all the way here to tell me? You are aware that we are meeting in a few days so I assume this is important?”

 

“The Jinchuuriki for the Kyuubi was spotted leaving the Sand with the Shukaku container. It would seem as though they have joined forces”

 

“And just why did you not try and retrieve them?” Pein asked, while keeping a calm, clear voice.

 

“I-I was alone and would have surely died if I tried taking on their Bijuu forms” Zetsu stuttered out.

 

“That is of no concern. What else did you find out?”

 

“They know the location of the Rokubi; it is currently in the Stone village”

 

It was then that Deidara interrupted. “The Stone village? Master, I find this highly doubtful seeing as I originated from the Stone and before I left for Akatsuki, I made sure to check my sources for information on the Bijuu”

 

“It would appear as if you were fooled, Deidara” Sasori finally spoke but soon walked off towards the entrance.

 

“Zetsu, follow them and attempt to capture them. If you cannot capture them all, which is highly likely, bring back one. Understood?”

 

“Yes Master” Zetsu said before merging with the earth and travelling to the Wind border and locating is target. `I think I'll let them take me to the other one before I let myself be found'

 

Back at the hideout, Pein turns to Deidara.

 

“And…just what are you two doing here?”

 

Deidara, who was previously modelling his art, turned to Pein with a grin on his face while he scratched the back of his head.

 

“We just got here and we were re-supplying our ninja tools”

 

“A likely story indeed” Pain said calmly as he disappeared and left Deidara and Sasori alone.

 

“Idiot, how can you call that” Sasori pointed to the exploding clay in the form of a bird. “Art?”

 

Deidara ran towards Sasori and an argument about art unfolded.

Konoha, Hyuuga Compound

**

Hiashi Hyuuga paced around the Hyuuga main household, with his Byakugan activated. Every so often he would stare at the door, hoping…waiting.

 

When he finally deactivated his Kekkei Genkai, the door burst open and in came the Hyuuga from outside the Hokage's window.

 

“Hyuuga-sama, it is as you thought. Naruto Uzumaki has indeed defected from Konoha and Team 7 has been assigned his retrieval. Also, on the way back I noticed that Neji was with them”

 

“Good, I have told Neji what to do if the opportunity arises. Were you discovered?”

 

“In the end, yes. But Tsunade thinks that I was there to gather information to assassinate him”

 

Hiashi smirked. “Well, they were half right”

 

“Shall I resume my spot at the Hokage's office?”

 

“Yes. Oh, have you heard any word on him?”

 

“None at all, it would seem he has completely vanished since he left”

 

“These meeting's are to be kept secret. Leave”

 

“Yes, Hyuuga-sama”

 

Hiashi watched as the Hyuuga man dashed out the door. He wasn't totally satisfied with the information obtained but it was a start. Civil War had to be avoided for now. He couldn't risk losing his influence in Konoha. Not yet.

 

“Guard” Hiashi yelled out and a Hyuuga guard came from the doorway and bowed to Hiashi.

 

“Gather all of our members who are ninja”

 

“Yes, Hyuuga-sama” And with that, he turned to leave before Hiashi called out behind him.

 

“Hold on. Everyone but Hinata”

A/N: I know this is fanfiction and that I control the Up, down, left and right in this story but I don't like to stray to far from the main plot. And I just read something about Akatsuki which I didn't know and this could complicate things. But nevertheless, I will find a way around this and get the next chapter to you as soon as I can.
