A/N: Hello to all my readers. To tell the truth, I didn't expect to have this amount of reviews only 10 days after starting. Nor did I expect to have this many before 1000 views. And so, I thank you all. If it weren't for all of your reviews, I wouldn't have been able to push myself to update almost everyday.

Chapter 8

**

Naruto and Gaara stood shocked. They had just infiltrated the Stone village without causing a fuss and they were now standing 5 metres away from the Rokubi container. It hadn't taken all that long to find her, because she stood out a lot. Naruto turned to Gaara who had a similar expression on his face, though he tried to hide it.

 

“You said you told her to loosen up. I think this took it a bit too far, don't you?” Naruto whispered to his friend, who merely turned to him and glared.

 

“Shut up, I don't want to hear it” Gaara replied, but was obviously laughing on the inside, due to the sides of his mouth twitching. And so, the pair stood in silence, watching the supposed shy girl who held the Rokubi, making out with random guys that were walking down the road. When one ran off, she would grab another and continue. But when one made a run for it, and she was just about to kiss an 11 year old boy, Gaara yelled out.

 

“Hello Ayaka-chan, how you been?” Ayaka slowly turned at the voice and stared at Gaara wide-eyed before she ran at him, pulled down his mask and kissed him full on the lips. Gaara was to say the least, shocked. Shocked that another had gotton through his sand defence, and shocked with the current situation altogether. Naruto couldn't help but drop to the ground and laugh. He laughed till tears came out and even after they had stopped, he continued to laugh. It wasn't till Naruto heard Gaara clear his throat that he looked up.

 

“You know, you're a little weird” Ayaka said, and Gaara merely nodded.

 

“Yeah, well the only thing weird here is your personality” Naruto replied calmly as he stood up and continued to look at the girl in front of him. She was the same height as he was, and she looked to be around Gaara's age. She had pale-white skin, blue eyes and brown hair that appeared to only just hide a pair of ears atop her head.

 

`Wait, ears on TOP of her head?' Naruto thought as he continued to stare at the small, half-circle shaped ears that were slightly covered with brown hair. Gaara picked up on his staring and elbowed him in the ribs.

 

“Idiot, she's really self-conscious about them” Gaara whispered whilst smiling warmly at Ayaka.

 

“Sooooo, what brings you here Gaara-kun?” Ayaka asked as she leaned on his shoulder.

 

“You remember me telling you how I knew of another Jinchuuriki like the two of us?” Ayaka nodded so he continued, “Well this is Naruto, host to the Kyuubi” Naruto bowed and was slightly taken aback as she hugged him. Deep within his mind, Naruto thought he could hear Kyuubi making noises. Almost like he was throwing up.

 

“Kit, get rid of these clothes, they're contaminated. Gross!” Kyuubi said as Naruto frowned. Perhaps Kyuubi was over-reacting a bit.

 

“C'mon, she's just being nice” Naruto was pulled from his thoughts as Gaara spoke.

 

“Naruto was also like us, treated terribly as a child and never respected as a ninja. I didn't tell you this because I didn't want you to worry but, there is a group of ninja that are after the Bijuu called Akatsuki”

 

“Akatsuki?” Ayaka questioned.

 

Over the next 10 minutes, Naruto and Gaara explained everything to Ayaka. From what Akatsuki wishes to accomplish to everything she would need to know about Akumade. When Naruto finished, Ayaka spoke.

 

“So let me get this straight Ninth, you want me to leave this village to go with you on an indefinite journey to defeat some jerks that are after us?”

 

“Yes, is that a problem?”

“Your damn right it is. Nobody looks at me like a monster anymore, but like a person. It's like they've accepted me-”

 

“Of course it's like that, your practically selling yourself to strangers, except their refusing your services” Naruto said and then he wished he hadn't as Ayaka began to glare at him.

 

“You can forget it, jerk” And with that said, she stormed off down the road and out of sight.

 

“Well, I think that went well” Gaara said sarcastically and just as Naruto was about to chase after her, Gaara grabbed his arm. “Forget it, we'll try again tomorrow” They both leapt off and ran out of the Stone Village. Into a rocky canyon they went, and they started to set up camp.

Above the Canyon

**

Zetsu stood on the edge of a cliff, looking down at the two. He had been following them everywhere they went for quiet some time now and was about to make his move. Putting his hands into a tiger seal, he started channelling chakra to the bottom of the canyon where the Jinchuuriki sat, side by side. Soon enough, Naruto and Gaara became aware of small strands of grass growing out of the ground which were becoming longer and thicker with every second that passed. And surely, within minutes, it was as if they were never in a rocky mountain, but a very, very green meadow.

 

“Oh crap” was all that escaped Naruto's mouth as a black cloaked figure with red clouds closed in on them from above. Naruto and Gaara got into fighting stance.

 

“Hello Naruto-kun, Gaara-kun. I would like you to come with me” Zetsu said in his calm voice. Then almost immediately after that was said, a voice radiated throughout the canyon which seemed to be coming from Zetsu as well.

 

“Who cares about honouring them, grab them and lets go” The other side of Zetsu said in a low, deep voice.

 

“Do you really think that we will, how do you say, come quietly? I have no intention of being killed before my goals are accomplished. Prepare yourself” Naruto spoke calming, when suddenly the whole ground shook as Gaara's sand erupted from the gourd on his back and shot at Zetsu who merely smirked. As the sand encircled him, trapping him inside, Gaara raised his hand.

 

“Sand Burial”

 

All of the sand imploded in on itself, crushing Zetsu in a swirl of grass. Wait, grass? When the sand crushed the figure inside, flakes of grass poured out of the Sand Coffin and fell to the ground.

 

“…you can't be serious” Gaara said in a surprised voice as Zetsu erupted from the ground beneath.

 

“You must know by now. I use a very special jutsu that is unique. Unique meaning that only I can use it” Zetsu started doing hand seals so fast that the human eye couldn't keep up.

 

“Secret Grass Style: Vine Growth” Beneath Zetsu, vines grew from out of nowhere in a matter of seconds and began attacking the Jinchuuriki duo.

 

“Shadow Clone Jutsu” Beside, behind and every other direction appeared 100 Naruto clones who began to decapitate the vines 1 by 1. Gaara's absolute defence was now attacking the vines as well. But when it appeared as though they had destroyed them all, more sprouted from the ground. Naruto's clones were soon defeated.

 

“First, we can't keep this up. They just keep coming” Naruto said as he pulled out a kunai and continued slicing.

 

“Ninth, tell me, what techniques does your country employ?” Naruto, catching on to what Gaara was saying, started his hand seals for the jutsu.

 

“Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu” Tons of separate flames came out of nowhere and incinerated the ground beneath, burning the grass. Zetsu just continued smiled and disappeared into the ground, only to re-emerge 10 metres behind Naruto and Gaara.

 

“So you have figured out my juts-”

 

Naruto interrupted him, “Nope it was just a guess actually”

 

“Tell me; are all kids your age this rude? I can tell you now, when I was your age I was never this arrogant” Zetsu said coldly. Oh how he hated kids. Unknown to Zetsu, Naruto had released his cursed seal and took on his Partial Demon form. Naruto bit his thumb and started doing hand seals.

 

“Summoning Jutsu” Placing his hand to the ground, a large smoke cloud surrounded an equally large shadow. Out of the shadow appeared the webbed foot of Gamabunta. Jumping forward with Naruto still on his head, he soon realised he could barely make two steps forward and jumped out of the canyon.

 

“STUPID BRAT! DIDN'T YOU LEARN LAST TIME YOU SUMMONED ME INTO A MOUNTAIN?!” Gamabunta yelled before taking in his surroundings and noticing Zetsu. Taking a draw of his pipe, he sighed. “Damn, I knew it was only a matter of time”

 

Naruto turned to look down at Gaara who had been lifted to the higher level via his sand. “First, I want you to stay airborne in the event that he uses that Grass Jutsu again” Doing as his leader says, Gaara used his sand to carry himself high into the air. Looking at the two in front of him, Zetsu put on a questioning face.

 

“Tell me, why do you listen to that moron? He may be a Jinchuuriki but he is definitely not a leader!”

 

Gaara glared at him and spoke. “Because he too knows the never-ending pain of trying to live in a world of hate. You couldn't even comprehend what horrors we've been through because you've always had a purpose for existence” Gaara said before transforming his sand into shuriken and throwing them at Zetsu. Zetsu, however, blocked with ease.

 

“Well that was dramatic. Now, let's continue” Zetsu became covered in grass which turned to a green-like shell. Focusing his chakra, the ground began moving beneath Gamabunta who jumped back a bit to avoid it. The earth began to morph and twist around until it was nothing more then a sea of grass and leaves, which seemed bottomless.

 

“GAMABUNTA, OIL!” And immediately, Gamabunta spat a large amount of oil out of his mouth as Naruto started his hand seals.

 

“Fire Style: Toad Flame Bomb” Fire erupted out of Naruto's mouth and ignited the oil, which completely burnt and destroyed the Grass in front of them. But something was wrong. Where there should have been a massive crater from where the grass was, there was ash and small pieces of grass from which Zetsu emerged from. Naruto didn't particularly like the situation and started forming a Rasengan in his left hand. However when he jumped off of Gamabunta to attack Zetsu head on, Zetsu spoke.

 

“Earth Style: Grass Quicksand”

 

Naruto was confused at first when the ash and grass pieces started rotating but when it seemed that the ground was drawing it all in, he realised if he got caught he would most likely be buried in the earth below. Gamabunta sighed as he jumped in and pushed Naruto off-course, but getting himself caught in the process.

 

“Sorry kid” Gamabunta said as he disappeared in the white smoke so as to not die in the whirlpool of grass.

 

Naruto looked down to see a great deal of sand sneaking behind Zetsu which transformed into Gaara who aimed a punch at Zetsu's face. Zetsu manoeuvred to the side and elbowed Gaara in the face before Gaara shattered and collapsed into the ground, now sand.

 

`So it was a Sand Clone?' Zetsu thought but was interrupted when the sand took a hold of his left leg, completely covering it. The real Gaara appeared behind Zetsu with his hand open.

 

“Sand Coffin” Zetsu sprouted sharp blades of grass which looked surprisingly like kunai from his leg, piercing through the sand and was about to break free when Gaara activated his curse seal. Gaara's skin turned a golden brown and a blue line ran straight down the centre of his face. His red hair grew longer and his pupils turned black. Also, a faint yellow aura of chakra came off his body. Pushing a large amount of chakra into the sand, he strengthened it. The sand, now almost impossible to break through, continued up Zetsu's leg and where more grass blades pushed through.

 

“Sand Burial” The sand crushed Zetsu's leg, but when it did, the Grass blades shot out of the sand, aiming at Naruto. Gaara tried to force the sand to move quick enough to protect his friend, but was too late. The grass kunai pierced through Naruto's legs, rendering them useless for the remainder of the fight. Just as Gaara was half way to his injured friend, Zetsu came out of the ground behind him (Minus a leg) and reached to the Venus fly trap head where a large thorn appeared. Grabbing the thorn, he was about to stab the now unconscious Naruto when a strange blur came from nowhere, and grabbed him. Gaara took off after Naruto and when he caught up with the would-be savour, he spoke.

 

“So, I guess you have reconsidered?”

A/N: Well, you have no idea how difficult this chapter was to write. I had to invent a new jutsu list in addition to an extended fight scene. It was only hard because Zetsu hasn't shown any jutsu yet.

 

Earth Style: Grass Quicksand: When Zetsu made all that ash and grass, this made for a kind of sea. Basically, using his chakra he rotated the ash and grass into the ground, where it would be trapped in the earth. If one was to get caught, it would be almost like a whirlpool.

 

Secret Grass Style: Vine Growth: This jutsu is similar to the First Hokage's Wood Element Ninjutsu as it is creating life force by converting chakra. When Zetsu made grass appear from the ground before the fight, this made it possible for him to use this jutsu. Even though this jutsu can convert chakra to life force, it still has to grow from somewhere, which makes it a weaker version of the Firsts. The reason why I made it weaker is because the First's Ninjutsu was a unique ability, and if Zetsu knew it, Orochimaru would have most likely pressed him for information on it. Well, that was difficult to explain.

 

Grass Clone: This is a clone made of grass. No explanation needed.

Ok, explanations aside, I have now realised this is my longest chapter…Yay. I will try to update as soon as I can but I have some bad news. University starts next week =/ I will still try my hardest to update every day though. Please Review and tell me of any noticeable mistakes.

 

P.S If you are wondering why Zetsu seems to keep appearing randomly, them I will say why here. Zetsu has the ability to merge with anything and travel instantaneously to another location. Pretty handy huh? For future reference, Zetsu has what is called a Sixth Sense, which means he can sense things around him without hearing/seeing (Basically) Oh, and if you didn't already know, Zetsu has a split personality. Each half of his body can converse with each other.

 

P.S.S You might notice that I will say `Hand signs' and then 2 sentences after I will say `Hand seals'. There is no difference in the two, sometimes I just get distracted.
