Chapter one: The Mission

Sakura laid in her bed, letting the warm sunshine wake her up. She tried to get out of bed but noticed a pair of strong arms holding her in place. She looked over and found her spiky head boyfriend still sound asleep. "Shikamaru." She whispered, but he didn't move. She nudged him a little, but still nothing from the lazy ninja. She tried her best to get away but his hold on her was to strong, so the cherry blossom gave up then went back to sleep.

A few hours latter, Sakura woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. She got up and went to the kitchen to see what her dear Shikamaru was doing. "Hey Cherry Blossom finally up?" Shikamaru walked over to her, hugged her, and then kissed her on the forehead. "Well I would have been up, but someone was holding me down all night." Sakura gave him a look. "Who was it, and do I need to kick his ass for holding my girl hostage." He laughed. Sakura walked over to the bar and pulled out a glass cup, Then Shikamaru poured her some apple juice. " Breakfast is almost done." Shikamaru said as he flipped the eggs. Sakura took a sip of her juice. " Shikamaru, do you remember we have a mission today?" Sakura asked the eighteen-year-old boy. He then gave her a look. " That's today?" Shikamaru put the food on the plate the served it to his beloved. Sakura only smiled in response.

They both arrived at the Hokage office. Sakura knocked on the door. "Lady Tsunade may we come in.," asked the cherry blossom. " Yes you may enter." Sakura and Shikamaru walked in only to find their Hokage half drunk.

"Shikamaru Sakura how are you two doing?" The half drunk Hokaga asked.

" We're doing fine my lady, Umm you shouldn't be drinking this early in the morning." Said the spiky head boy.

"I'll be ok, I only had one bottle, now please let me tell you about your mission." She explained to the young couple.

"Now I need you to take this scroll to the Kasakaga of the Suna Village, it is a vary important document so BE CAREFULL."

Sakura's jaw dropped. " You mean we have to go and see Gaara!" she yelled.

"Yes is there a problem with that?" Tsunada asked.

"Yes there's a problem, the man tried to kill me, or did you forget that little incident about four years ago?" Sakura was furies, and she really didn't want to go.

"Sakura I need you to go on this mission, you and Shikamaru are the only ones in this village that I trust with this scroll." Begged the Hokaga.

Shikamaru grabbed her hand. "Sakura don't worry I'll be there with you." He then placed a small kiss on her cheek.

Sakura huffed. "Fine I'll go."

Tsunade smiled. " Great you are to report back here in four days with a reply from the Kasakaga."

"And is they're anyone else going with us?" Shikamaru asked.

"Yes, I'm glad you asked that, Gaara's sister Temari will be your escort to Suna village."

"WHAT YOU MEAN SHIKAMARU"S EX GIRLFRIEND!" Sakura yelled.

"Yes, she was in the village training with Kakashi, so I figured since she would be on her way ba-." Sakura cut off Tsunada.

" Then how come you can't just give the scroll to Temari?" Sakura asked.

"Like I said before Sakura I only trust you with this scroll and if you do not obey my order's there will be severe consequences." Tsunada was calm now and so was Sakura.

"O.k. fine, when do we start?" Asked the cherry Blossom.

The Hokaga smiled. " High noon tomorrow."

As the two walked out of the Hokaga office Shikamaru crossed his arms over his chest. "Man what a drag."
