He looked around and saw a strange band with an odd symbol embedded on it. He picked it up and heard a click. He spun around and noticed a thin wire stretching across the floor and trailing up to the ceiling. His eyes widened and he saw thousands of paper bombs ignite. He turned toward the door and shot out. On his way out he stopped for a moment to pick up Kakashi. Three seconds after he escaped the bombs exploded with a force that sent him flying. Debris rained down on the building around the mansion and people ran away from the spreading fire.
Ichinaru pocketed the band and set Kakashi down. He turned around, then concentrated on the flames and said, “Water Release: Water Bullet.”
He sucked in and gathered chakra into his mouth. He blew out in one second intervals, releasing bolts of water onto the fire. Multiple shinobi appeared as he was finishing with the fire. Nuroshi Sasuke, Sakura, and Alzid moved through the group of shinobi and walked to Ichinaru. Sasuke and Sakura gasped as they saw the fallen shinobi beside Ichinaru. Sakura's knees wobbled as she asked, “Is he-?”
Ichinaru nodded and tears started to flow down her cheeks. Sasuke took her into her arms and comforted her. Nuroshi looked from the scorched mansion to Ichinaru and asked, “What happened?”
Ichinaru sighed and explained everything that Kakashi had told him. He finished up with, “And then I found this.”
He reached into his pouch and pulled out the band. Nuroshi took it and examined the symbol. He shook his head and handed it over to Sasuke. Sasuke released Sakura and looked at the band. He looked to Nuroshi and said, “It's an Abarai clan symbol. Their village lays a few miles off the west coast. I mean I know that they've been feuding with the Sand for years, but why attack us?”
Ichinaru stepped forward and said, “Why else? They were trying to weaken our forces, so that we can't help the Sand.”
Nuroshi agreed, “Yes. I will gather together a group of my strongest shinobi and we will head to their village ourselves.”
Ichinaru shook his head and said, “No, I will go. Nuroshi-sensei, you know full well that I by myself am capable of taking one measly village.”
“No, I will not allow it. Your father would never forgive me if something terrible were to happen to you.”
“Nothing will happen to me and father won't be back for another five or six weeks, which, to me, is pretty long to be away from your village, but still.”
Nuroshi sighed in defeat and said, “Fine, but I will arrange for someone to accompany you, probably Karsutei or Miaki, most likely Karsutei.”
“That won't be necessary,” Alzid said.
“And why not,” Ichinaru inquired.
“Because. I'm going with you.”
“No, it's too dangerous.”
“Weren't you the one saying it wasn't dangerous?”
“It's not too dangerous for me.”
“So you're saying I'm weak?”
“No I-”
“Then it's settled, I'm going with you.”
Nuroshi smiled and said, “I agree with Alzid.”
Ichinaru turned to Nuroshi and said, “WHAT!”
“Alzid is more than capable of handling herself.”
“But what if she does get hurt, sensei?” inquired Ichinaru.
Nuroshi thought for a moment and then said, “For every scratch she gets, I will add one year of buying you ramen at Ichiruka's.”
Ichinaru's eyes beamed and he nodded vigorously. Alzid glared at them and said, just loud enough for them to hear as she stalked away, “I can't believe their betting on how much I'll get hurt. Ugh, MEN!”
Ichinaru chuckled resulting in him avoiding a shuriken barrage. Sakura followed her, glaring at the mist shinobi. Nuroshi and Sasuke pulled Ichinaru into an ally, after Alzid and Sakura had gone a fair distance away. His face now serious, Nuroshi said, “You must be very careful on this mission. You're Eien no Me is strictly top secret. Only the top Amayan's and a few select here know about it. Alzid has been kept out of the loop because of you're Kekki Genkai. You're ability to use any jutsu with out hand signs.”
“But I thought it was my Eien no Me that gave me that ability?”
At this Sasuke stepped in, “We did too, for a time. We started to analyze you and even once, with Nuroshi here to help of course, we released some of your power. You don't by chance remember the huge forest fire about a year after the academy incident?” he pause as Ichinaru slowly took it in and then continued, “Yeah, that was you. We learned not to unlock any of your untrained abilities that day and that you had a Kekki Genkai.”
“So that is why you are only allowed to use your Kekki Genkai on this mission. No Eien no Me unless absolutely necessary. Do you understand? Kill anyone who even catches a glimpse of it. I know of too many who would kill you if they couldn't have that power to themselves.”
“What about Alzid? Or an innocent?”
Nuroshi sighed and said, “Even Alzid is susceptible to bribery, or torture, so be careful.”
With that he turned and melted into the air. Sasuke sighed and said, “I want to teach you something. It should be pretty easy with your Eien no Me's ability to copy moves and your ability to use the chidori already. Follow me.”
As the two walked off, a large storm was rolling in from the east.
