Night came too quickly for Ichinaru. The two made camp and cooked some rations they had brought along. They were quiet during their meal, but afterwards Alzid spoke, “So what's the plan again?”

“Simple enough. First we make our way to the Sand and refuel and rest up. Then we cross the ocean for a few miles and land on enemy territory. Finally we kick ass and ask questions later. Sound fair?”

Alzid smiled and nodded. She yawned and said, “We won't need to take watch until we're past Waterfall territory. So get some sleep and we'll set off in the early morning.”

Ichinaru nodded and stayed awake until Alzid was asleep and the whispered, “Kage Bushin no Jutsu.”

Three clones appeared in of poofs of smoke and Took off in different directions. He trusted Alzid with all his might, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Ichinaru woke first, but instead of waking her, he let Alzid sleep a little longer. He made breakfast and it seemed the smell was enough to wake her up. She shook her head and looked around.

“How long have you been up?” she yawned. She pulled a comb out of her backpack and brushed her hair. Ichinaru shrugged and said, “No more than a half hour. Eat breakfast and we will move on. I'm hoping to reach the Fire country boarder by this evening.”

Alzid gagged and looked at Ichinaru in disbelief. She swallowed her food and yelled, “Are you crazy? Not even Lee-sensei could run that fast.”

Ichinaru smiled and said, “Don't worry. Finish eating and I'll tell you.”

She glared at him, but quickly finished eating, slightly curious. Ichinaru smiled again as he said, “I'm pretty sure you know that I can shadow step, right?”

Alzid nodded and said, “Yeah, you enter a realm of shadows and are able to move from location to location extremely quickly. But can you really move to the boarder in one move?”

“No, but I can move fairly far. The only downside is with you here, it will take more power to move two people, so we will have to stop at the Great Naruto Bridge, rest and then we might be able to make it to a close enough distance to walk the rest of the way.”

“That actually makes sense. I never thought you had it in you.”

Ichinaru clenched his fist and threw a punch at Alzid. She elegantly dodged out of the way and stuck her tongue out at him. She then proceeded to disappear in a poof of smoke. He smiled and said, “You won't be able to hide on my head this time!”

He swung his arm over his head and hit nothing, but air. He looked around and couldn't find her. The next few seconds went by pretty quickly. One second he was looking down at the fireplace and the next thing he knew, he looking at it straight in front of him. Alzid appeared next to him and said, “Headhunter jutsu, very effective if you ask me.”

She grinned widely and turned on a dime the started to walk away, when she heard Ichinaru say, “You have forgotten one thing, Alzid. I have multiple ninjutsu up my sleeves. Lightning Release: Thunder Rasengan!”

A wave of electricity shot through the ground around the two and Alzid froze. Ichinaru melted into the ground and reappeared a few feet away. He started to strode over as he said, “Now look who the hotshot is, little girl.”

He got right into her face and stuck out his tongue. It was a good thing he brought it back it to grin at her, because her fist suddenly connected with his jaw, sending him flying into the air. The only thing that went through his head as he flew straight up was, I can see my house from here!

He fell back down creating a small crater in the campsite. Alzid walked over, dragged him out, and spent the next twenty minutes healing him. He shook himself out and said, “Never again will we speak of this moment. Now take my hand.”

She smiled and took hold of his left hand. He sighed and the air around them charged with chakra. He closed his eyes and said, “Shadow Step.”

The experience was like nothing Alzid had ever experienced. At first her breath was stripped from her, but just as quickly had it left, it returned. She became light headed and then blinded by the sunlight. She blinked a few times and noticed they were standing on a wide bridge. She looked at Ichinaru to ask him if this was the correct bridge, but decided other wise because of how exhausted he looked. He sighed and said, “Come on, I want to visit someplace.”

“Where?”

“You'll see when we get there.”

Alzid folded her arms across her chest, but said nothing. She hated surprises, especially if Ichinaru was the one behind it. Ichinaru lead her through the small town across the bridge and up to a walkway that led into the forest. He took her hand and steered her up the path. They walked for a minute or two and finally came to a ledge. Alzid looked around and asked, “What's so special about this place?”

Ichinaru grinned and knelt a few feet away. He said a prayer and whispered, “I'm surprised to don't know the grave site of the Demon of the Mist. These are the graves of Haku and Zabuza.”
