Ichinaru felt hot tears rolling down his face. It had started to rain shortly before Alzid's death and now it was pouring. He set her down gently and then the anger took control. He was furious at not only Orochimaru, but at himself for letting Alzid die. He shut his eyes tightly and felt chakra move on its own. He cried out in sadness and anger and the tree splintered into a thousand pieces from the shear force of the following blast of chakra.

He felt excruciating pain on his back, as if it was being ripped apart. He noticed for a split second that his skin turned dark gray. But, just as quickly as it had appeared, it reverted back. He suddenly felt light and calm. His mind acted on its own, like someone else was controlling his body. He looked at Alzid and saw his hands move over her chest. He then felt an inhuman surge of chakra flow through him and into Alzid.

Alzid's chest lifted off the ground and he noticed, as it fell gently to the ground, her chest was moving in and out. The strange feeling left his body and his mobility returned. He bent over top of Alzid and whispered, “Alzid? Alzid can you here me?”

He waited a moment and then he heard the soft voice. It was like an angel's choir as it rang in his ears, “You never answered my question.”

Ichinaru burst into tears and hugged her tightly. Alzid, still groggy, said, “Can't…breath!”

He released her and cupped her face in his hands. She looked at him and asked, “Aren't I supposed to be dead?”

Ichinaru laughed and hugged her again. The two broke apart and Ichinaru said, “I thought I had lost you.”

“What happened? I was encompassed in darkness and then I heard your voice. For a second I thought you had died as well, which would be very hard to believe, but then the light slowly returned and you were squeezing me to death.”

“I don't know. You did die, I think, but then my Eien no Me acted on its own, activating itself, and I thought the curse seal had taken control. But the seal receded and I lost control of my body. The next thing I knew I had revived you.”

“Weird, but you still didn't answer my-”

At that moment Ichinaru bent forward and kissed her. He pulled away and asked, “Does that answer your question?”

Alzid blushed violently, shocked, and her pulse raced through her body. She let her head drop to stare at her knees for a moment. Ichinaru mistook her body language and stood up. He looked up and said, “Sorry, if I was to forward with answering. I'll go get fire wood for later this evening. You should probably rest a little longer to make sure there's no unseen injuries anywhere else.”

Alzid tried to speak but realized she was holding her breath. She sucked in a deep breath to speak, but Ichinaru was already gone.

Damn, Ichinaru thought, I can't believe I ruined that.

Ichinaru returned fifteen minutes later and the two didn't speak to each other the rest of the night.

Ichinaru awoke and looked around. It was dimming out side. Twilight, he thought. He sat up and rubbed the back of his head. Pain glanced up his side and he fell back down. Alzid looked at him and smiled at.

“You're finally awake. You were out for a day and a half.”

Ichinaru shot up, shook his head to clear the haziness that was clouding around his eyes, and grabbed his vest. He cleaned it out and threw it on. Alzid cocked her head to one side and asked, “What's going on. You're to hurt to go any where.”

He looked down and noticed he was covered in bruises from the fight with Orochimaru's subordinate, he hadn`t even noticed them in his worry for Alzid. He sighed and activated his Eien no Me. A dim light surrounded him and the bruises vanished. Alzid nodded her head and said, “Nifty.”

“I instantly heal when I activate Eien no Me. The only down side, is when I get injured with it activated, I have to heal the old fashioned way.”

Alzid nodded and said, “We'd best be moving out if you feel you're ready.”

“We need to get there as fast as possible. I'll use my Eien no Me to bring us in close. Hold on.”

Alzid did as she was told and grabbed Ichinaru's arm. He activated his Eien no Me five percent and they were whisked away into the darkness.

The two appeared in a dense forest and could hear the sound of a raging sandstorm in the distance. Ichinaru suggested they set up camp and Alzid agreed. It would be easier to navigate while not blind. They had just started when Ichinaru heard a twig snap in the distance. He motioned a signal to warn Alzid and they both secretly drew kunai. They went back to work, to throw off their watchers and their plan worked. Four shinobi, all bearing the Abarai clan symbol, jumped into their camp sight.

Ichinaru and Alzid were able to fell two of them in one attack. The other two immediately became more cautious and advanced slowly. The largest disappeared and reappeared in front of Ichinaru, backhanding him and sending him into the forest. Ichinaru stood and saw the man barrel through the forest, knocking the trees as he went along.

Ichinaru jumped out of the way and looked at Alzid. She was faring well until the man jumped into the air. He made four hand signs and said, “Ninpo: One Thousand Needles Barrage!”

Ichinaru watched as thousands of senbon darts appeared in the sky and flew toward Alzid.

“ALZID GET OUT OF THERE!”

There was no way for him to reach her in time; the darts were almost upon her. Just as they were about to hit, she closed her eyes and waited for the pain. It never came. She peeked out of her right eye and noticed a wall of soil in front of her. She noticed everyone was stunned for a moment. Then she heard Ichinaru say, “Bastard! Take this, Chidori!”

The sound of birds chirping filled the air and Ichinaru dashed forward, catching the man in the side of the head. His hand passed right threw it and the shinobi body fell to the ground, headless. The larger man howled in anger at his fallen comrade and jumped at Ichinaru. Ichinaru sighed and held out his hand. A ball formed in it and air started to swirl around him. The man was almost upon him when Ichinaru said, “It is time to show you one of my strongest attacks. Wind Release: Rasenshuriken."
