The Night Before Christmas

A/N: Okay, I promised that I would write at least 2 Christmas fanfics so here's the first one. I wanted to do this poem in Naruto form just cause it's really easy and I can do both of them in about 2 hours. Then I can work on the more complex stories! But anyway, enjoy and please review!

`Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

The headbands were hung by the chimney with care in hopes the Lord Hokage would soon be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugar dumplings danced in their heads.

And Sakura in her `kerchief and I in my cap had just settled down for a long winter's nap

When out on the street there arose such a clatter I grabbed a kunai and sprang from the bed to see what was the matter

Away to the window I flew like a flash building up my chakra as I tore open the shutters and threw up the sash

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow gave the luster of mid-day to the objects below,

When what to my wondering eyes should appear but a miniature sleight and eight tiny reindeer

With a fairly young driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Lord Hokage

More rapid than an eagle his coursers they came and he whistled and shouted and called them by name “Now Kakashi now Gai! Now Asuma and Kurenai! On Iruka and on Tsunade! On Shikamaru and Ino!

To the top of the mountain to the top of the wall! Now dash away, dash away and dash away all!” As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly when they meet with an obstacle mount to the sky {A/N: I honestly have no idea what this last line meant but it was in the original poem so I figure it was of some importance. ^_^'}

So up to the apartment top the coursers they flew with the sleigh full of kunai, shuriken and Lord Hokage too, and then in a twinkling I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my kunai and was turning around down the chimney Lord Hokage came with a bound.

He was dressed all in orange from his head to his foot along with a shiny headband and a kunai pack strapped to his leg and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.

A bundle of weapons he had flung on his back and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack,

His eyes how they squinted and his dimples, how merry his cheeks were like roses his nose like a cherry his droll large mouth was drawn up like a bow and his beard of his chin was as blonde as the sun the senbon that he held tightly in his teeth shone like a halo the reflected around his head he had a broad face and a little round belly that shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly (he's been hitting the Ramen Bar a lot)

He was chubby and plump a right jolly old elf and I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself a wink of his eye and a twist of his head soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work and placed a gift in all of the headbands then turned with a jerk.

He formed several hand signs and gave a nod up the chimney he rose he sprang to his sleigh to his team gave a whistle and away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good night!
