Title: The Running Free

Summary: Naruto is a normal college student. He lives his life peacefully living with his Father Iruka. He knows about his ancestors as being one of the Bearers and knows that he is able to have children. He takes the precautions needed to protect himself, until one fateful night.
Chapter 2

The car came to a silent halt as Sasuke pulled into the parking spot of his and Itachi’s apartment complex. He sat there for a moment then looked at Naruto. “Did you bring your pills?”
Naruto sighed and pulled out the little box of birth control pills. “Yeah, I wish they’d let me have the depo shot (1) or something. These pills are killing me. I mean, besides the fact that I have to take them every day, I also get nauseous and I think I’ve gained more weight.”
Sasuke rolled his eyes and pulled his seatbelt off. “You haven’t gained any more weight. And even if you have, you know that Itachi and I wouldn’t even care.” He opened his door and grabbed his backpack from the backseat before stepping out of the car.
Naruto sighed again and proceeded to exit the car himself after grabbing his backpack as well. He shut the door and watched as Sasuke locked it using the auto-lock on the keychain. “Do you think Itachi’s home?”
“He should be, his classes ended at around twelve this afternoon, and it doesn’t take him that long to get home on the bus.” Sasuke held Naruto’s hand as they walked to the front door and Naruto waved to t he doorman as he opened the door for the two boys.
“Hey Naruto, how’s life been treating you?” The old man asked politely.
“About the same since you asked me last Sarutobi.” Naruto waved again as they passed by and headed towards the elevator. “Damn I can’t believe he still works here. He’s got to be around seventy or so right?” Naruto asked Sasuke as they entered the elevator.
“I guess, he’s been here since Itachi and I moved in five years ago.” The dark haired boy said with a shrug. Sasuke pushed the button that would take them to the top floor.
The ride to the top was quiet and tense, considering that Naruto was nervous about his upcoming discussion and apology to Itachi. Before Naruto could try and get out of it yet again, the sound of their arrival in the form of a ding alerted them to the opening doors. They stepped out and went to the end of the hall. Sasuke fished his keys out of his pocket and unlocked and opened the door. He led Naruto inside as he took his shoes off and put them on a rack by the side of the door. The room was decorated simply with cream colored walls and white carpet. Cream colored furniture adorned the living room in the form of a huge comfy looking couch with two matching armchairs facing the couch. A glass coffee table was situated between the chairs and the couch with an assortment of magazines and books artfully set on top of the table. Off to the right of the living room was the dining area/kitchen. A glass dining table with cushiony cream colored chairs sat around the table and next to the table a sliding glass door lead out to a wrap around balcony. But what made the front part of the apartment amazing, was the wall to the left of the living room furniture. A full wall of glass with a killer view of the cityscape. This is where Naruto loved to spend the evenings with his lovers, sitting on some pillows and watching the sunset.
Sasuke walked further into the living room and into a small hallway. He approached a door and gently knocked on it. There was a short pause before Naruto could hear muffled voices. Well, looks like Itachi was indeed home. He took his shoes off and followed Sasuke to the bedroom room. He saw Itachi and Sasuke talking quietly to each other and decided to just get it over with.
He politely cleared his throat to let them know that he was there. One he saw he had Itachi’s attention, he took a deep breath and wished for the best. “Itachi, we should talk about what happened last night.”
Itachi looked over at the blond and motioned for him to come closer. Naruto walked over to Itachi and hugged him close. He led Naruto into the room and then looked back at Sasuke. “You don’t mind making dinner tonight do you Otouto?”
Sasuke shook his head and headed off toward the kitchen. Itachi closed his door quietly and sat down on the bed. He motioned for Naruto to sit next to him. “Well?” was all he asked.
Naruto fidgeted with the hem of his shirt again, he really needed to stop doing that. He looked up at Itachi finally and noticed his deep black eyes staring into his. He thought for a moment how much those eyes had been through during the older male’s life. Itachi had an eye condition known as FEVR (Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy). A condition that effects the retinas (2). The disease is genetic so Sasuke has the same disease but his vision isn’t as bad as Itachi’s, yet anyway. Naruto shook himself out of his thoughts and looked at Itachi again. “I’m sorry about last night. I was selfish.” He said as he gave the best puppy-dog eyes ever.
Itachi tried to be serious and stern but with a face like Naruto’s, who could stay mad at that for long? “Alright, I forgive you. But next time try not to be so impatient.”
Naruto smiled and put his arms around Itachi, snuggling into him. “Thanks ‘Tachi, I love you.”
“I love you too Naru. Now let’s go out into the living room so Sasuke doesn’t throw a fit.” He said as he stood up and offered his hand to Naruto who took it and they walked out of the room together.

Sasuke heard footsteps headed in his direction and took a break from his cooking to greet his two boyfriends. “So I hope you two worked out your little…thing?”
Naruto smiled as he sat down at the little island situated in the middle of the kitchen. “Yep, and I’m starving. What are we eating anyway?”
Sasuke just shook his head and went back to the pot on the stove. “We’re having salmon and rice. By the way Naruto, now might be a good time for you to start on our project, don’t you think?”
“What? I don’t want to start on that shit yet. We have like, five days.” He looked over at Itachi with a pleading expression but knew that it probably wouldn’t affect the older man, since he probably couldn’t see his facial expressions judging from how far away he was at the moment. “Itachi, tell him not to make me do homework.” He demanded with a pout.
Itachi just chuckled as he sat down in the chair next to the blond. “Come on Sasu, you’ve been working on it all day, give him a little break.”
Sasuke just rolled his eyes and then glared at his brother. “But I’d rather get it done now so we don’t have to rush at the last minute. I hate procrastinating.”
Naruto pouted even more as he went into the living room to retrieve his school books and started working on his part of the report.

After dinner, the three boys found themselves cuddled together on the couch watching TV. Nothing was really on, but they didn’t care. They were content with just sitting together. Naruto was falling asleep and leaning heavily on Itachi with his legs resting over Sasuke’s lap. Itachi was running his fingers through Naruto’s hair, which was probably the reason why he was falling asleep.
“We should probably go to bed, it’s pretty late and Naru has to wake up early.” Itachi said as he shifted a little, consequently waking up the blond.
Naruto shifted against the two boys he was draped over and gave a tiny yawn as he opened his eyes. “Is it morning already?” he asked as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
Sasuke chuckled and leaned in to give Naruto a small kiss. “No it’s not morning yet. You’ve only been asleep for an hour. I think we should go to sleep though, since you have to wake up early tomorrow for your appointment.”
Naruto groaned at the reminder of his appointment. He really didn’t want to go, but he figured there really wasn’t any way out of it. “Alright, but can you pick me up Sasuke? You’re class ends before I’m going to be done.”
Sasuke nodded as he got up and helped Naruto off the couch and waited for Itachi to get up. They headed to the bedroom and after they brushed their teeth, they got into bed together and once more cuddled up to each other.
Now that Naruto was fully awake again, he was having a hard time getting back to sleep. He was too busy thinking about his strange circumstances. He found out when he was thirteen that he was able to bear children from his Father Iruka.
***Flashback***
Naruto woke up to white walls and a really annoying beeping sound. He groggily opened his eyes and groaned at the pain that lanced through his lower abdomen. He had no idea what was going on or how he came to be in the hospital. He looked around for any signs of his dad but found no one in the room with him. He started to panic as tears began to stream down the thirteen year olds’ face. Finally he saw his father enter the room who immediately rushed over to Naruto’s side.
“Naruto, you’re awake. I’m so glad you’re ok. Don’t cry you’ll be fine Naruto.” Iruka wrapped his arms around the sobbing boy trying to comfort him as best he could under the circumstances. “Do you remember what happened?”
Naruto just shook his head and then winced as he felt another wave of pain hit his belly. “Why am I here dad? Why am I in pain?”
Iruka looked down at his adopted son and closed his eyes, knowing he’d have to tell him the truth. “Naruto, remember how I told you about the Bearers and that you are a descendant of one?” Naruto just nodded. “Well, usually a Bearer is able to carry a baby after their thirteenth birthday. They develop the necessary anatomy for them to do this in that year, which is what’s happening to you. Unfortunately it’s painful, and you passed out from it a few hours ago. I got you here as fast as I could. But don’t worry, the pain doesn’t last too long.”
Naruto sniffled and looked up at his father with watery eyes. “So I can get pregnant?”
Iruka nodded then turned as he saw the doctor walk in. “Ah, Dr. Tsunade, he’s awake and I’ve just explained everything to him.” Iruka said to the blond woman.
“Very good. How are you feeling Naruto?” she asked as she looked at him with a critical eye that only a doctor can pull off.
“I guess I’m alright. It really hurts though.” Naruto said as another wave of pain hit him.
“Well unfortunately that’s one of the side effects of being a Bearer. But, it should stop hurting within the next few days. For now though, lets discuss birth control options, since I know that Naruto is homosexual, right?”
Naruto nodded and laid back on the bed to listen to the doctor make plans for his future safety.
***End Flashback***
Naruto remembered that day so clearly in his head. He was prescribed the birth control pills that he still takes today. He really hated taking them. They always made him feel like shit, not to mention they made him gain wait, causing him to become self conscious of his body. He knew that Sasuke and Itachi didn’t think he was gaining weight, but he knew he was. He could just feel it. He appreciated his lovers for being so loving and understanding about what he was going through. He wondered many times what he did to deserve those two. Finally after what seemed like hours, Naruto started to drift off to sleep. Before he fell completely into the world of dreams he made sure to give each of his lovers a kiss before finally letting his eyes close.
Tomorrow was going to be a bitch.

Depo: A method of birth control administered trough injection and can last for a couple months I believe.
FEVR – This is a real eye disease that I actually have. Mine is a bit worse than what I have Itachi. For him, his retinas are still attached but are slowly pulling and will eventually detach. I’m planning on having him go through surgery to fix his eyes and Sasuke also. What happened to me was my left retina had fully detached when I was only five and my right retina was really close to detaching but was stopped thanks to the power of lasers!
