Three Weeks Later
Sasuke was pissed. He was more than pissed; he was frustrated as all hell. The one day that he really needed to go to school and his car wouldn’t start. He growled for what seemed like the millionth time that morning. He looked over at Naruto who was sitting beside him in the passenger’s seat. “Well, it looks like we either have to take a cab, or take the bus.” Sasuke said in defeat. He hated both options, but he really did have to go to school. He had a mid-term that he couldn’t miss for anything.
Naruto sighed as he took out his cell phone. “I’ll call a cab. I don’t really feel like taking the bus; too many people.” The truth was that he didn’t really want to take the bus because he was feeling a bit sick, and he didn’t want to risk public humiliation by puking on a public bus with a crap load of people watching. Not to mention feeling like he was was scaring the shit out of him. He still didn’t know if he was pregnant or not, but judging from how he had been feeling for the past week, he had a sinking suspicion that he might be. He felt the knot in his throat tighten as he fought the need to cry. He handed the phone to Sasuke while it was still ringing, not able to use his voice at the time.
Sasuke took the phone from Naruto and closed it. He looked over at his lover with a worried look. “What’s wrong, baby?” he asked as he leaned over to wrap his arms around Naruto and pull him in close.
That did it for the blond, the tears started to fall at Sasuke’s attempt to comfort him. “I’m really scared Sasuke. I’ve been feeling like shit all week and I think it’s because I’m pregnant. I still don’t know though, and it’s driving me crazy not knowing.” He held onto Sasuke tightly letting all his feelings come out to be soaked up into the raven’s shirt.
Sasuke opened Naruto’s phone again, this time to call his professor, letting the woman know that there was a family emergency. If his boyfriend could be pregnant and having a nervous breakdown, a mid-term was the least of his worries. Luckily she was an understanding woman and would allow him to make up his mid-term. Hanging up the phone, He opened it again to redial the cab company. “It’s alright baby; don’t worry, I’m taking you to Dr. Tsunade so that she can figure this out alright?”
Naruto nodded faintly as he heard Sasuke make arrangements for a cab to pick them up. What a day for the car to not work. He knew that he was pregnant, he could just feel it. Not to mention, he had been having other weird symptoms; like headaches and backaches. He had also been feeling really tired for no reason. He wanted to confirm it though so that he didn’t’ feel like he might be over reacting for nothing. He held his hand out toward his phone, signaling that Sasuke give it to him. “I need to call my dad.” was all he said as an explanation.
Sasuke handed the phone over to his lover while keeping an eye out for the cab. He couldn’t believe Naruto’s birth control didn’t work. Of course it was 99.9% effective, but who knew that Naruto would be that 1% statistic? Damn he was so screwed. He didn’t even want to know what Iruka would do to him once he found out. He jolted back to the present when he heard Naruto’s shaky voice.
“Dad, I’m going to Dr. Tsunade’s. I think I might be pregnant.” The blond was silent for a moment and then the crying started again. “Gaara’s party, we kind of got drunk…” he was cut off at that point and yelling could be heard on the other end of the phone. “I’m sorry dad, I didn’t mean for it happen, neither did Sasuke…” he was cut off yet again by more yelling. Naruto wiped his eyes trying to stop his crying, but he couldn’t, not when his dad sounded so disappointed in him.
Sasuke wanted nothing more than to grab the phone and tell Iruka off. But he figured the man had a right to be pissed at them, they were extremely irresponsible after all. Sasuke knew that it was almost entirely his fault to begin with. He grabbed Naruto’s hand and held it trying his best to comfort his boyfriend. He felt Naruto squeeze his hand tightly, obviously trying to fight back his tears, and losing the battle terribly. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the cab pull up and motioned to Naruto to get out of the car.
Naruto exited the car while still listening to his dad. It was hard to hear, but he knew he deserved all the words being yelled at him by his father. Iruka seemed to calm down a bit by the lack of noise on the other end of the phone and Naruto finally got a chance to say something. “Ok, yeah we’re going right now.” There was one more pause from the blond before he hung up the phone. They were in the cab and on their way by the time Naruto looked up at Sasuke again. “He’s going to meet us there. What are we going to do Sasuke, he’s going to kill you, he’s so mad.” Naruto knew he was over reacting, but he couldn’t help it. His dad sounded serious.
Sasuke held Naruto’s hand trying his best to reassure him. It didn’t take long for them to get to the hospital and they both got out and Sasuke paid the driver. They walked into the building and up to the front desk. While Naruto had been talking to Iruka, Sasuke had called ahead and told them that they were coming.
The receptionist looked up at the two men in front of her and recognized Naruto. She was usually there when he came in for his appointments. She wondered what was going on; he didn’t have anything scheduled for today. Realization dawned on her as she saw the worried look on Sasuke’s face, and the tear streaks on Naruto’s. She wouldn’t say anything obviously, because it was their business. She looked over at her message board and saw there was indeed a call from Naruto saying that he was coming in. She composed herself a bit before speaking. “Hey Naruto, we’ve already told Dr. Tsunade that you’re here so go ahead and have a seat.” She said kindly.
Naruto just nodded and looked at Sasuke, who took his hand and walked with him to the rows of chairs. Now he just had to wait, which was going to be the hardest thing ever. He leaned his head on Sasuke’s shoulder and squeezed the hand he had in his again. He didn’t want to feel so nervous and anxious anymore. It was the worst feeling. He looked up when he heard the door open and saw Dr. Tsunade standing just inside the entryway. She nodded towards him. He stood up with his hand still in Sasuke’s and they went through the doorway, Naruto feeling more anxious than ever.
Tsunade couldn’t believe that Naruto might be pregnant. He always seemed so responsible. Not to mention Sasuke seemed the epitome of responsibility and seemed like he would do his utmost to prevent something like this from happening. She knew though that it was a huge possibility, considering the fact that they were only eighteen. She led Naruto to the exam room and asked him to sit on the exam table. She had a few questions for the two. “Sasuke you can have a seat right over there.” she said as she pointed to the chair next to the exam table. “Now, Naruto, why do you think you’re pregnant? I want to know what symptoms you’ve had.”
Naruto felt the tightness in his throat again, but made himself calm down so his voice was somewhat steady. “I don’t really know exactly. I’ve been feeling really exhausted the past week. It’s not like I’m doing anything I normally don’t do. I’ve also been feeling kind of sick, like I’m going to get the flu or something. About a week after we had sex, I got some cramping in my lower abdomen, kind of like my period but I had just had it and there was a little blood, and my back’s been hurting a bit too.” he said quietly, trying his hardest not to cry. He wanted more than anything to have Sasuke sitting there right next to him, but that wouldn’t be allowed since Tsunade had to have room to work.
Sasuke heard the slight tremble in Naruto’s voice and wanted nothing more than to wrap his arms around the blond and tell him he loved him. He figured though that this wasn’t the particularly right time for that. He turned as he heard the door open and saw his worst nightmare; a worried Iruka.
Iruka went straight to Naruto and wrapped his son in his arms. “I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier, I shouldn’t have been so harsh. Don’t think I’m not disappointed, but we’ll figure something out.” He then looked over at Sasuke, trying not to look to mad at the younger Uchiha. Mistakes happened, even though this was a huge mistake, he couldn’t really blame Sasuke entirely. He gave a smile that was supposed to be reassuring, but looked more like it was forced. Either way, he was trying.
Tsunade cleared her throat to get the room’s occupants attention. All three looked at her and she looked at Naruto. “It sounds like the first symptoms associated with pregnancy. The cramps and bleeding are probably from the conceived egg implanting itself into the uterine wall. The others are most likely from rapidly changing hormone levels. I want to test you just to be absolutely sure. Do you want Sasuke and your dad to stay?” She had to give the option; some patients were a bit embarrassed when they got their results.
Naruto nodded and looked over at Sasuke and his father. He wanted Sasuke to stay with him, no question about that. He wasn’t too comfortable with his father in the room though. Don’t get him wrong, he was glad his dad was there to support him and everything, he felt that this was a moment only for himself and Sasuke. “I want Sasuke to stay.” was all he said, he knew his dad would understand.
Iruka nodded. “Alright Naruto, I’ll be out in the waiting room.” he said as he gave one last genuine reassuring smile to his son and headed out the door.
Tsunade went over to the tiny sink in the corner and washed her hands quickly before putting on some rubber gloves. “Alright Naruto, I’m going to draw a little blood. Then I’ll take it to the lab and see what the results are.” she said as she opened the necessary items needed to draw blood.
Naruto looked over at the doctor nervously. He hated needles, couldn’t Tsunade do it another way? “Can’t I just give you a urine sample?” He had looked it up on the internet and knew that a urine sample could determine if he was pregnant or not.
“We could, but it might be inconclusive. We’d have to do the blood test anyway if that was the case. Might as well just get a precise answer.” she said as she walked up to the blonde’s side. “Go ahead and lift up your sleeve.” She was trying to sound as reassuring as possible. She knew Naruto was probably nervous as hell at the moment.
Naruto rolled up his sleeve and looked at Sasuke again. He really wanted his boyfriend to be next to him and hold his hand, but he didn’t want to seem like a wimp either. He looked down as he felt the antiseptic towel swipe over the inside of his elbow. He looked back at Sasuke again with an almost panicked look. Screw his pride, he just wanted Sasuke. He held out his other hand toward the raven and hoped that Sasuke would take the hint.
Sasuke saw Naruto’s panicked expression. He stood up and walked over to the blond and took the other’s hand in his. He stood as close as he could to Naruto and felt the blonde’s head rest against his shoulder, burying his face into the fabric of Sasuke’s shirt. Sasuke placed his hand gently on the back of Naruto’s head and ran his fingers through the blond hair, trying to offer silent comfort and reassurance. He had wanted to be right in that spot the whole time, but he wasn’t sure if he would be in the way or not.
Tsunade found a vein and pierced the blonde’s skin with the needle, the vial filling with Naruto’s blood. She only needed one, which was plenty to test from. After the vile was filled, she removed the needle and placed a bit of gauze over the small hole. She then placed a piece of medical tape over the gauze to keep it in place. “I’ll take this to lab and be back with the results. It should take no more than forty five minutes. Do you have any questions, either of you?” she asked before she headed out with the vile in hand.
Both shook their heads in the negative and watched as she nodded and left the room.
Sasuke sat on the exam table next to Naruto and wrapped both arms around the blond. “It’ll be alright, baby. I love you no matter what the results are.” He kissed Naruto’s forehead and then let him rest his head on Sasuke’s shoulder again.
Naruto started to tremble as the tears he was holding back the whole visit started to escape his eyes. “I’m really scared Sasuke. Not just about the test, but of actually going through pregnancy. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. What if something goes wrong?” He had so many questions that he doubted would be answered right then. He was really worried about all the things that might happen.
“We should find out if you’re actually pregnant first Naru. And if you are, you can ask Dr. Tsunade all the questions you want. I’m sure she’ll be expecting them.” Sasuke said as he rubbed comforting circles on Naruto’s back. He had some questions of his own for the doctor. Mainly, what he could do for Naruto if the blond was pregnant.
Naruto just nodded and stayed securely in Sasuke’s arms until he heard the door open again. He looked up and saw Tsunade enter with a folder in her hand. He wiped away his tears and sat up to fully look at her. He still had Sasuke’s hand in his and gave it a squeeze just to make sure Sasuke was still really there with him. This was the moment of truth; the moment in which Naruto would find out if he was going to have a baby.
Tsunade just stood there for a moment. “I personally don’t know the results yet, since I haven’t opened the folder. I always let my patients’ do that part, since I feel it is their privilege to do so.” she said as she held the folder out to Naruto.
Naruto looked at it like it would attack him. He didn’t want to look at it; he’d rather someone else tell him. He looked over at Sasuke and he felt the tears welling up in his eyes again. “Will you do it?” he asked, trying not to let his voice waver.
Sasuke nodded and took the envelope from Tsunade. He didn’t really look it, but Sasuke was practically crawling out of his skin with anxiety. He opened the envelope and took the single piece of paper out of it. He scanned the document, not really looking at the medical crap he couldn’t understand and tried to find an answer. He found that answer in the form of a single word printed in a section on the document marked ‘RESULTS’. ‘POSITIVE’ was typed in bold letters and the only thing Sasuke could do at that point was squeeze Naruto’s hand once more.
The blond looked over at Sasuke wondering what his results were. “What does it say?” he asked, wanting to, and not wanting to hear the answer.
Sasuke handed the paper with the folder back to Tsunade for her to see and looked at Naruto. “We’re going to have a baby.” was all he said. He didn’t really want to admit it to himself, but he felt the beginnings of a knot in the back of his throat. The whole situation was beginning to be too much for him. He wasn’t sure before, how he would feel if the outcome was that Naruto was indeed pregnant, but now, he felt, extremely happy; almost to the point of tears. He wouldn’t show that much emotion in front of Dr. Tsunade, which was only reserved for his bond and Itachi.
Naruto didn’t know what to feel. He was a bit apprehensive and really nervous about the whole thing, but he was also happy at the same time. He didn’t really know how to explain it, but he felt it happened for a reason. Something about the situation seemed like it happened at the right time. Even though they were still young, Naruto knew that the three of them, Sasuke, Itachi, and himself, could give his baby all the love, and everything else it wanted and needed.
Tsunade knew the two would probably have a million questions for her, but first she’d have to call in Iruka and tell him the news. She didn’t really know how that was going to go, but she figured it wouldn’t be too bad. “We’ll discuss options and you can ask questions once I call Iruka back in.” she said as she walked out of the room once more.
Naruto looked up at Sasuke with watery eyes and leaned into his boyfriend. “Are you happy Sasu? I mean...is this what you want?”
Sasuke pulled the blond onto his lap and wrapped his arms around him once more. “Yeah, I’m happy, baby. I just want you to know, that I’ll take care of you and do everything I can for you throughout all of this alright?” He knew what he was saying was the truth. He’d do anything for his blond. He also knew that his brother would make the same promise once he found out.
Naruto nodded and they sat like that, just being in each other’s presence, knowing that in less than a year, they’d have a baby that they had created together. They’d take on whatever challenges came up and they knew that they would make it through this new challenge in their life.

He held out his other hand toward the raven and hoped that Sasuke would take the hint.
Sasuke saw Naruto’s panicked expression. He stood up and walked over to the blond and took the other’s hand in his. He stood as close as he could to Naruto and felt the blonde’s head rest against his shoulder, burying his face into the fabric of Sasuke’s shirt. Sasuke placed his hand gently on the back of Naruto’s head and ran his fingers through the blond hair, trying to offer silent comfort and reassurance. He had wanted to be right in that spot the whole time, but he wasn’t sure if he would be in the way or not.
Tsunade found a vein and pierced the blonde’s skin with the needle, the vial filling with Naruto’s blood. She only needed one, which was plenty to test from. After the vile was filled, she removed the needle and placed a bit of gauze over the small hole. She then placed a piece of medical tape over the gauze to keep it in place. “I’ll take this to lab and be back with the results. It should take no more than forty five minutes. Do you have any questions, either of you?” she asked before she headed out with the vile in hand.
Both shook their heads in the negative and watched as she nodded and left the room.
Sasuke sat on the exam table next to Naruto and wrapped both arms around the blond. “It’ll be alright, baby. I love you no matter what the results are.” He kissed Naruto’s forehead and then let him rest his head on Sasuke’s shoulder again.
Naruto started to tremble as the tears he was holding back the whole visit started to escape his eyes. “I’m really scared Sasuke. Not just about the test, but of actually going through pregnancy. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. What if something goes wrong?” He had so many questions that he doubted would be answered right then. He was really worried about all the things that might happen.
“We should find out if you’re actually pregnant first Naru. And if you are, you can ask Dr. Tsunade all the questions you want. I’m sure she’ll be expecting them.” Sasuke said as he rubbed comforting circles on Naruto’s back. He had some questions of his own for the doctor. Mainly, what he could do for Naruto if the blond was pregnant.
Naruto just nodded and stayed securely in Sasuke’s arms until he heard the door open again. He looked up and saw Tsunade enter with a folder in her hand. He wiped away his tears and sat up to fully look at her. He still had Sasuke’s hand in his and gave it a squeeze just to make sure Sasuke was still really there with him. This was the moment of truth; the moment in which Naruto would find out if he was going to have a baby.
Tsunade just stood there for a moment. “I personally don’t know the results yet, since I haven’t opened the folder. I always let my patients’ do that part, since I feel it is their privilege to do so.” she said as she held the folder out to Naruto.
Naruto looked at it like it would attack him. He didn’t want to look at it; he’d rather someone else tell him. He looked over at Sasuke and he felt the tears welling up in his eyes again. “Will you do it?” he asked, trying not to let his voice waver.
Sasuke nodded and took the envelope from Tsunade. He didn’t really look it, but Sasuke was practically crawling out of his skin with anxiety. He opened the envelope and took the single piece of paper out of it. He scanned the document, not really looking at the medical crap he couldn’t understand and tried to find an answer. He found that answer in the form of a single word printed in a section on the document marked ‘RESULTS’. ‘POSITIVE’ was typed in bold letters and the only thing Sasuke could do at that point was squeeze Naruto’s hand once more.
The blond looked over at Sasuke wondering what his results were. “What does it say?” he asked, wanting to, and not wanting to hear the answer.
Sasuke handed the paper with the folder back to Tsunade for her to see and looked at Naruto. “We’re going to have a baby.” was all he said. He didn’t really want to admit it to himself, but he felt the beginnings of a knot in the back of his throat. The whole situation was beginning to be too much for him. He wasn’t sure before, how he would feel if the outcome was that Naruto was indeed pregnant, but now, he felt, extremely happy; almost to the point of tears. He wouldn’t show that much emotion in front of Dr. Tsunade, which was only reserved for his bond and Itachi.
Naruto didn’t know what to feel. He was a bit apprehensive and really nervous about the whole thing, but he was also happy at the same time. He didn’t really know how to explain it, but he felt it happened for a reason. Something about the situation seemed like it happened at the right time. Even though they were still young, Naruto knew that the three of them, Sasuke, Itachi, and himself, could give his baby all the love, and everything else it wanted and needed.
Tsunade knew the two would probably have a million questions for her, but first she’d have to call in Iruka and tell him the news. She didn’t really know how that was going to go, but she figured it wouldn’t be too bad. “We’ll discuss options and you can ask questions once I call Iruka back in.” she said as she walked out of the room once more.
Naruto looked up at Sasuke with watery eyes and leaned into his boyfriend. “Are you happy Sasu? I mean...is this what you want?”
Sasuke pulled the blond onto his lap and wrapped his arms around him once more. “Yeah, I’m happy, baby. I just want you to know, that I’ll take care of you and do everything I can for you throughout all of this alright?” He knew what he was saying was the truth. He’d do anything for his blond. He also knew that his brother would make the same promise once he found out.
Naruto nodded and they sat like that, just being in each other’s presence, knowing that in less than a year, they’d have a baby that they had created together. They’d take on whatever challenges came up and they knew that they would make it through this new challenge in their life.
