It was a dark, dreary night in which they came face to face…after three whole years.

They were staring at each other.

Red against green.

Uchiha to Haruno.

“S-Sasuke?” Pretty red lips forming a name.

“Sakura.” His voice deep, rich.

They were on opposite sides.

Sound against Leaf.

A battle raged war around the two. The kunoichi was bleeding from a wound inflicted on her side, a scratch adorning her right cheek. She had been about to defend herself against some Sound ninja when a guy fell dead from an attack to his back.

He had been killed by his own leader…Uchiha Sasuke…Orochimaru’s second-in-command. The man had just mercilessly slaughtered one of his own men in order to save Lady Hokage’s very own apprentice…Haruno Sakura…

They kept their eyes locked, obvlious of the battle around them.

Slowly, Uchiha moved towards the stunned kunoichi.

“N-no! stay back, Sasuke!” Sakura quickly stumbled back a bit, suddenly remembering his position in life…and hers…her heart was pounding in her ears. Was she…afraid?

Sharingan user frowned at the female; he halted only momentarily before taking another gradual step forward.

Until she was backed up to a tree. She didn’t even think to go around the large trunk in order to get away from him; to escape…to flee…

It was eyes that held her captive.

The man lifted his big hand to her soft chin.

“Sa-Sasuke?” She gasped, her body now shivering.

“Sakura,” he moved his hand down her neck to her collarbone. “you’ve grown.”

The pink-haired woman swallowed a lump.

A scream in the distance.

Blood spilled as a body fell dead to the hard cold ground.

Her eyes widened. A bit too late she realized his other hand striking.

She fell unconscious into his arms.

Gasping, Sakura sat up. “Sasuke!”

“Sakura...”

Wide eyes sought out the Uchiha.

And for some reason, the pink kunoichi was filled with such relief that she forgot…they were enemies…and jumped from the bed to run into his arms.

“Sasuke! Oh, Sasuke!” She cried; he blinked down at her. “I… was so…so afraid! Sasuke…” Sakura raised her teary eyes to look at his coaled ones and extended her hands to his face; confirmation to make sure that he was real.

To know for sure this wasn’t a dream.

“Sakura.” He mumbled softly, lifting her chin up, again.

“Sas-”

Another pair of lips silenced hers.

She stared at him, stunned.

Then…it happened again…and she reacted with such passion.

Completely forgetting who she was.
