“I'm so jealous, Akebara-chan! You get to spend all your time with Orochimaru-sama while I only get to see him when he's doing inventory checks…” Karin pouted as the two girls walked along the beach.
“Not that it matters…! Orochimaru-sama wouldn't take me with him when he attacked Konohakure and was wounded…That on top of Kimimaro dying…” Akebara sighed.
“Stop worrying so much! You'll get wrinkles and Orochimaru-sama will lose interest in you…and come to me for pleasuring” Karin winked.
“…You wouldn't even know where to begin…” Akebara huffed.
“You slut!” Karin jeered playfully. Akebara paused in her stride.
“Eh?”
She doubled over, spilling her breakfast onto the sand.
“Are you okay?! Are you sick?!” Karin cried in distress.
“…I'm fine…I've been feeling nauseas since this morning…I was trying to keep it down…”
“…Maybe you're pregnant…” Karin shrugged, holding the other girl's hair back as she retched again.
“…doubt it…Kabuto has me on enough pills to immaculate a moose…” Akebara panted, scooping a handful of salt water to rinse her mouth. “I should head back…I promised Kimimaro I'd bring him some sweets…”
“But you just got here! Fine, leave me by my lonesome…you're worst then Orochimaru-sama…” Karin pouted.
“You know I love you, Karin-chan” Akebara purred, wrapping her arms around Karin's neck.
“…Oh no you don't! Your kunoichi wiles won't work on me!”
“You sure…? I'll let you smell Orochimaru's scent on me…”
“You're terrible!” Karin laughed.
“…That's not what Orochimaru-sama says…” Akebara kissed her cheek.
“Get lost already!”
Akebara waved as she boarded the long boat. Karin watched as she disappeared from sight, blushing as her fingers brushed over the lingering warmth on her cheek.
Akebara glanced warily over her shoulder at the two travellers following closely behind her. They chatting inanely about the things they would do when they reached their destination but she knew better. She could see their intent in the glowing rainbow streams of their chakra.
`…They're waiting for me to go off alone so they can capture me…I don't have time to play their childish games…'
Akebara ducked off of the beaten path into the woods, the two travellers were quick to follow.
“Where did she go?!” one of them spoke frantically.
“…She's still here…I can sense her chakra…”
“So you were following me…”
The travelers looked up into the tree where Akebara stood glaring at them with the Byakugan.
“Come along quietly, we don't want to have to get rough…” one of them began, pulling a kunai from his belt. She glanced at the scenery around them, “Five…no ten more of you in the trees…quite a little ambush you've got set up here. But what could you possibly want with little old me?”
“Save it! We know of your connections to Orochimaru!” the other traveller shouted.
“No you don't” Akebara replied simply. The two seemed taken aback.
“You can't even begin to fathom…all I do for my master…” she purred.
“I think I can…Akebara Nakagami…”
Akebara flinched, glaring at the stranger who dropped from one of the high trees.
“Kakashi Hatake…”
“Your mother was Miyako of the Hyuuga clan and your father…was a member of the stone village. They met during a joint mission and fell in love” He began. She grit her teeth.
“They defected from their respective villages to be with each other. Unfortunately, the stone village doesn't allow usurpers to live very long. Black ops hunted them down, slaughtering them before the eyes of their four-year-old daughter...” Kakashi went on.
“…Very good! You've obviously done your homework…” Akebara smirked.
“Not only that…but I know all of your techniques…” Kakashi went on.
“…Sure about that?”
“I'll ask you this only once, where is Sasuke?”
“How should I know? I wasn't assigned to bring him in…” she shrugged.
“If that's true then…you must know who was!” one of the travellers yelled.
“…What if I do? I'm obviously not going to tell you…” she replied.
“I'm trying to make this easy on you…” Kakashi began.
“Sorry…I always did prefer things `the hard way'” she grinned outright.
Kakashi gave a strenuous sigh, he lifted his headband, staring her down with his sharingan. Akebara froze on the spot.
“…Damn you…”she groaned struggling to remain conscious.
“Even the Byakugan is weak against the Sharingan if you don't have training…” Kakashi's voice seemed to echo as Akebara's vision tunneled. He caught her as she fell out of the tree.
