Chapter 18
On with the story
High in the night air, the full moon shone down on the world below. The residence of Konoha slept peacefully, including a family of foxes, huddled up together on top of one bed. This was the Kitsune family, sleeping comfortably, awaiting the next day. But one little fox was yet to fall asleep, cuddled into her father, lay Yin, wide awake. She was waiting for a certain someone, someone she had much interest in.

Around one o'clock in the morning Yin's ears suddenly twitched as she heard a small sound outside of her room. A small smile appeared across her lips before she slowly crawled out of bed, making sure not to disturb the others. She went over to a pile of cloths in a corner and picked hers out, before putting them on. After a few seconds she made her way outside of the bedroom. Back in the bed Naruto watched her leave with a smile before falling back to sleep.

Yin walked out to the living room to see a figure standing by the window with its back facing her. The figure twitched slightly before turning around; the figure was Toph, daughter of Gaara. She looked the same as she did in the exams. She had tan skin was long spiky red hair going down her back. She wore tight blue jeans and a small red shirt. She also had that gourd attached to her back. She looked up at Yin with a blank expression. Yin walked up to her until they were just a few feet away. Yin looked down on Toph with a smile before stepping over to the open window. She stepped onto the edge of the window before looking back at Toph with a smile.

“Come on”

A few minutes later we find Toph and Yin in the Konoha Park, both sitting in the swings next to each other. They had just started talking.

“So you are Gaara-kun's daughter.” Yin said with a small giggle. Toph looked at her with the smallest of frowns.

“What's so funny?”

“I just can't see Gaara as the baby making type.” Yin said, still giggling. Toph just gave a small shrug.

“Its not like he went out searching for a mate or anything, it was uncle Konkuru who got him his first date…well sort of.” Toph said while staring off into the distance.

“What do you mean sort of?”

Toph just looked at her blankly. “Uncle bought my father a prostitute.”

Yin stared at Toph for a second before bursting out in uncontrollable laughter, falling out of her swing in the process. “Are you serious, Gaara had sex with a hucker?” Yin said giggling wildly. Toph just nodded, while staring down at Yin.

“Yeah, uncle bought father a prostitute for his thirteenth birthday. Naruto-kun and father had just become good friends by then. After I was born my mother left.”

Yin stopped laughing slowly, and looked up at Toph questionably. “Why did she leave?”

“She was afraid of me. When I was born Shukaku split his soul in two and inhabited my body as well as my father. Naruto-kun told me she freaked when she saw sand swirling around me when I was a baby.” Toph said with a small smile.

Yin looked up at her even more confused. She didn't appear to be the least bit sad about it. She was actually smiling, or more accurately, she smiled when she mentioned Naruto.

“I know that soon after my father and Kyuubi-Chan founded the village, Naruto began to seek out other demon carriers, and soon found and became close friends with Gaara, but why didn't he ever mention you?”
Toph just looked down at her with a small smile. “Well if you asked Naruto-kun that, he would probably tell you what he tells me all of the time. You never asked.”

Yin looked at her in amazement, Naruto did say that a lot. She then got up off of the ground and sat back in her swing. “So how well do you know my father?” Yin asked while looking over to Toph who again had that same small smile on her face.

“I've known him ever since I was a baby. Naruto and Gaara were very close friends before I was born, and when my mother left, Naruto helped raise me. Once a week, he would visit me, bring me gifts, and just spend time with me.” She then looked over to Yin. “He's like my big brother.”

Yin stared at her with a smile. “More like father. I still can't believe I didn't know about you. When I first saw you, you looked familiar but I just couldn't place where I had seen you. If father cared so much about you, then I should have been able to see you through his memories.” Yin said in thought.

“It's probably because when Naruto-kun is around you, he isn't thinking about me that much; he's probably focusing on you and your brothers.” Toph said while kicking her feet playfully.

Yin nodded, that would explain it, but she still remembers seeing a glimpse of Toph when she was younger. She remembered seeing a baby in Naruto's mind. She didn't know who the baby was at the time. “When I was younger, around three years old, I saw you through father's mind, why would I see you for that one moment and not anytime else?” Yin said while looking down at the ground.

Toph thought for a minute before nodding her head. “It was probably because Naruto-kun was feeling strong emotions while thinking of me. The connection between demons grows stronger when some one is feeling strongly for someone or something.”

Yin looked at Toph in amazement. “How do you know so much about us?

“Naruto-kun taught me a lot.” She said plainly. Yin nodded, while starring at Toph.

“So why would he be feeling so strongly for you that I would be able to see you through his mind.”

Toph looked over to her with her brow raised. “It's kind of a long story.”

Yin gave a huge smile. “Well just give me a summary.”

Toph stared at her again for a few seconds before nodding slightly, smiling softly. “Ok, well, to sum it up. The Akatsuki kidnapped me when I was about two years old.”

Yin raised an eye brow before suddenly nodding. She had pieced everything together in just a few seconds. “The Akatsuki found out that Shukaku shared its soul between you and Gaara so instead of fighting Gaara they kidnapped you instead.”

Toph looked over to her in amazement. “Exactly, you're pretty smart,”

“Thanks.”

“Your welcome, well anyway, I was taken by a shark man and another man with red eyes in the middle of the night. They put me in a special container so Shukaku couldn't protect me. But of-course Shukaku told my father, who then told Naruto. Needless to say, Naruto was pissed. At fifteen years old, Naruto had grown a lot, and had great power, but he still couldn't take on the Akatsuki by himself so he formed a team to rescue me. I was taken to an underground hideout and placed on top of a stone tablet, but before they could start the ritual to extract Shukaku, Naruto showed up, along with Sasuke-Chan, Midnight-Chan, Naki-kun, Leo-kun, and Akuma-kun.”

“Leo and Akuma?” Yin asked in confusion. She had never heard of them.

“They were killed during the fight. Leo-kun, Akuma-kun, and Naki-kun were one of the first who joined your village. They were the strongest but the Akatsuki were strong as well. They died protecting me from the battle. The fight lasted for hours and by the end the area was completely covered in blood, including me. Only one of the Akatsuki members survived, the red eyed men. Instead of killing him, Sasuke-kun cast a jutsu on him that made his eyes go black. I later found out that Sasuke-kun locked away his chakra forever. Well after all of that, I was taken back to my father, and Leo and Akuma were given a proper demonic burial.” Toph finished the story with a far off gaze. To her side Yin was also listening in astonishment. They were silent for a few moments before Yin broke the silence.

“I guess there is a lot I don't know about my father, but there is no point in dwelling on the past.” She said while looking over to Toph with a huge smile. Toph glanced over to her and smirked.

“It's really hard to get you down.”

“Yep, I'm just grateful that no one else was killed, and that you were saved. Oh and by the way, the red eyed man was Sasuke's brother. That's probably the only reason he survived.”

Toph gave a small nod. “I figured they knew each other, but anyways, after that day Naruto-kun started my training. Of-course I know I'm no match for a true demon but I hope to be one day.” She then smiled softly while looking down at the ground. “Naruto-kun told me that one day I could join his village. But first I had to see the world and make sure that I really wanted to become a demon. He told me that when he thought I was ready, I could join. I've been waiting for that day, and I still am. I was hoping that if I became a chunin, maybe he would accept me, but I can only hope.”

Yin looked over to her softly. “I think that day may come sooner than you think.” She said while getting up and walking in front of Toph. She then held out her hand with a smile. “Come on, its almost morning.”

Toph stared at her for a moment before nodding and gently taking her hand.

A few hours later the Toph and Yin stand side by side along with Kenshi, Yang, and Kira and her dog. They stood at attention down in the arena they were fighting in just yesterday. They looked up in the stands to see many elders and VIP's from there respective villages looking down at them. Up in the stands Tsunade looked down at the five with a blank expression. To her side were Gaara, Naruto, Midnight, Sasuke, Jiraiya, and their body guards. Tsunade looked at the people around her before a jounin suddenly appeared in a swirl off leaves and gave her a small scroll. She nodded to the jounin before opening up the scroll. She looked it over before putting it away.

“You have all shown your strength in these past days. You have proven yourself over and over again and now it has been decided who if any, will be awarded the rank of chunin, Kira and Toph, step foreword.” As she said this, the two stepped foreword. “You both have faced many trials and have accomplished much in these exams, but we do not believe you are ready for the rank of chunin, please leave the arena.” Tsunade said emotionlessly.

Kira left the arena with her head down, followed by her dog. Toph looked up at Tsunade with narrowed eyes before growling and disappearing in a whirl of sand. After they were gone Tsunade looked at the three siblings.

“Kenshi, Yin, Yang, step foreword.”

The three stepped foreword and looked up at her expressionlessly.

“You three also have proven yourself and have overcome many challenges in these exams. You have shown exceptional skill, and for this, I award you three the rank of chunin. You official papers have been given to your kage.” She said while looking down at them, gauging their reaction. The only reaction they gave was a slight nod, not reacting to the cheers in there minds. But they also seemed distracted. They were all looking over to a certain spot in the stands. In the stands next to Tsunade, Sasuke was glowing slightly with red chakra. The chakra wasn't violent in any way, it was almost soothing. Soon everyone's attention was brought to Sasuke who was holding his belly and looking down at it with a gently smile.

“Its time,”

Instantly Naruto made his way over to Sasuke and covered him with his tails before picking him up bridal style. He then looked over to Tsunade.

“Hokage-sama, we thank you for the gift you have given our village, and to celebrate this moment I invite you to see the birth of my child. Not only that, but we have decided that our child should be born in this village.” Suddenly a small scroll appeared from a plume of smoke and fell in Tsunade's hands. “That shows the location of the birth site. You may bring as many people as you want to view the birth. Be there in twenty minutes.” Naruto said quickly before disappearing in a plume of flames, along with every demon there. Tsunade looked down at the scroll and then over to Jiraiya with a tingle of curiosity in her eyes.

“Lets go, I'm not missing this. You take care of the guests.” She said before disappearing in a swirl of leaves. Jiraiya nodded before writing a note, cloning the note and summoning a toad to deliver the notes to the people he trusted most. He gave a small nod before disappearing.

Several minutes later, miles away in a hidden clearing, not too far from Konoha we find a small group of people gathered around the clearing. They all look on in amazement at the site they are seeing. In the middle of the clearing, is a giant flower standing just a few feet off of the ground. Lying on the flower is Sasuke, still wearing his green kimono; accept his legs are spread and being held up comfortably by soft vines. Surrounding him is Naruto, Midnight, Naki, and the three fox siblings. Between his legs, another fox is counseling Sasuke, awaiting the baby. She is a female fox with four purple tails.
“Remember Sasuke, slow, controlled breaths. Just stay calm.” The lady says gently. Sasuke nods softly and continues to breathe slowly and stays calm. The birth won't be nearly as painful as human births but something could still go wrong if the carrier panics. Of-course Sasuke has done this before and it's not very hard for him, especially while being comforted by the one he loves.

To his side, Naruto is holding Sasuke's hand gently while whispering soothing words into his ear. Around the clearing, thirty humans watch in amazement. Among these humans are Tsunade, Jiraiya, Hinata, Sakura, and other trusted Konoha citizens and ninja. All of them are speechless as they watch a male about to give birth.

In the middle of the clearing, Sasuke has been glowing continuously, the aura around him growing lighter by the second. And finally after a few minutes the aura around him turns bright yellow. The female fox then suddenly calls out to Sasuke. “Push Sasuke-Chan, push,”

Sasuke nods before closing his eyes, squeezing Naruto's hands, and starting to push the baby out. He releases small groans as he strains. Below him the women nods her head happily. “Your doing good Sasuke, just a little bit more.”

Sasuke nods again with his eyes closed while continuing to strain. All the while, Naruto is still whispering in his ear. After a few long seconds, the silence in the clearing is broken by small cries as the lady gently pulls the baby from Sasuke. Sasuke then relaxes and falls back on the flower, breathing deeply. The lady now cradles the baby in her arms, whipping the baby clean of various fluids. The baby's dark orange tail hangs limp below it. The lady picks up the tail and wraps it around the baby's legs, its pale skin glistens with various juices that are currently being wiped off. There is no hair on its developing head, just a pair of furry dark orange fox ears that twitch randomly as it cries out with a soft, high pitched whine. The lady smiles softly at the baby before gently placing the baby in Sasuke's arms.

“It's a girl.” She says softly. Sasuke nods before lifting one of his tails and placing it at the baby's lips. The baby immediately begins to suck hungrily on the now moist tail. Naruto looks down at the baby with a huge smile on his face before kissing it gently on the forehead.

“Hello, Nala, I'm your father but you probably don't care at the moment.” Naruto said while looking down at her, rapidly sucking on Sasuke's tail, as he said this, Yang moved over Nala, smiling down at her.

“And I'm your big brother Yang.” He said with a huge smile. Naruto gave a small laugh before looking over to Sasuke. Sasuke looked to Naruto with a loving smile before they shared a gentle kiss.

Around the clearing, the people looked on in astonishment and shock, again they were speechless. As they stared on, there was a small whisper in the crowd, a whisper filled with hate in malice.

“Die demon,”

As these words were whispered, a small black object fell from the sky at a rapid speed. The object sailed straight for the foxes, and as the object got closer, it was revealed to be a small black kunai. The kunai struck like lightning. In the middle of the clearing, silent and horrified gasps could be heard. Sasuke looked down at Nala in horror. Sticking out from the babies belly was a kunai, surrounded by the child's blood as it slowly gushed out from the deep wound, the kunai easily able to penetrate the thin skin of the underdeveloped infant. The entire clearing was silent. The silence was only broken by the pain-filled cries of the newborn child.
