This is my first fanfic, so I hope you all like it! It starts out on Earth but then goes over to the Naruto world.

A twelve-year-old girl ran through the doors of the school, her shoulder-length black hair streaming behind her. She ran up to a tall girl with long blond hair. “Hi Leonie!” the girl called. “Rebecca, you're late! Come on!” Leonie grabbed Rebecca's wrist and dragged her down the hall. They barely made it to home room before the tardy bell rang.

 

A few seconds later the announcements came on over the speakers. The principal droned on about the next club meetings and how the school athletics teams did. “And would Rebecca Degraffenried and Leonie Versteeg please come to the front office. Bring all your stuff with you.”

 

There was a shocked silence in the classroom for a few seconds. Then the two girls grabbed their stuff and went downstairs to the principal's office. The secretary took the two girls to a back conference room. Standing in there was the principal and two other men. The first one was tall with brown hair pulled back. He wore a strange vest over a navy blue shirt with navy blue pants. The second man was short and looked really old. He had white robes on with a funny hat on.

 

`I wonder who these people are?' Rebecca thought. The principal turned around. “There you are. These two men are Iruka,” the taller one nodded, “and the Lord Hokage.” The shorter one nodded. Rebecca was shocked. `They are from that show that I watch every Saturday. I must be dreaming.' Rebecca discreetly pinched herself. `Ouch! Never mind. I'm not dreaming.'

 

The principal started talking. “You are here because you are being offered a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Lord Hokage will explain.” He stepped up. “You are being offered the chance to come over to our world and become ninjas. This path is not an easy one. You will have to go through intense training. The amount of work it will take is overwhelming. You will be faced with death many times, and you will also have to kill. The shinobi's life is not an easy one, but if either of you wish to come step forward.”

 

Rebecca and Leonie looked at each other, then Rebecca stepped forward and said firmly, “I'm going.” Leonie sighed and then stepped forward as well. “In that case, you're going to need me to watch over you,” Leonie joked. The Hokage nodded. “You have both chosen wisely. We will be departing for our world in a little bit. First you must have replicas to take your place.” The Hokage made a few hand signs and an exact replica of each girl appeared. “Just touch your hand to its head and your replica will become alive. It will have all of your memories and abilities,” the Hokage explained.

 

Both girls touched their replica's face. Instantly the replica's eyes opened. “You two may go back to class,” the Hokage informed the two replicas. They nodded and left.

 

“Cool!” Rebecca exclaimed. The Hokage chuckled. “You'll be able to do that in no time.” Rebecca fidgeted with barely contained excitement. “All right we're going to go now. All the stuff you'll need has been transported to where you'll be staying,” Iruka stated. “I want you to step through that mirror right there,” the Hokage said, pointing to a silver framed mirror on the wall. “It is a portal between our worlds. However, I must warn you that after you go through the mirror, you can never return.” “I don't care! It's not like my life here is a fairy tale. I mean Leonie's my only friend and my parents abuse me. There is nothing left for me here since Leonie is coming too. I will have absolutely no regrets about this at all!” Rebecca said, eyes narrowed in anger.

 

The others looked at a loss for words. Rebecca strode towards the mirror and vanished through it. Leonie quickly followed. The Hokage waved a cheerful good-bye at the principal as he disappeared through the mirror after Iruka.

 

Unknowingly, Rebecca and Leonie had taken the first step towards the adventure that would ultimately change them and finding who they truly are.
