Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ The Weather man ❯ The mission ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Ok! Time for Chapter 1! Okies Dokies, the Prologue… eh, wasn't so good. So I hope this chapter will be better then the previous!
When you see these things `~' that means a scene change, Since I'm too lazy to write things as boring as `picks up, stands up, begins walking towards a place' or something along those irritating lines, I use those ~ to keep my life easier. And besides, who *really* wants to read through all that annoying crap???
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Naruto. If I did… Well then, I'd be a really awesome person. But I don't, so I'm not awesome.
WARNING: This is after the 2 years that pass by in Naruto, Contains spoilers, so if you don't like `em, don't read it. I'm sure you'll be able to follow along anyway though.
~Bianca
When you're waken up at four o'clock in the morning, that's never a good sign. Bianca rolled out of bed and opened her front door, getting ready to give the person who disturbed her, the worst beating of their life for waking her up at this ungodly hour.
There was a horse outside, beating it's hooves against the dry ground, smoke clouds rising up. A man slide off the horse's glossy back and stumbled towards the open door.
“Ms. Pineiro…?”
“Depending on who's asking.”
The man stumbled forward and grasped her shoulders, his face was grave and slack, Voice raspy, “ Please… h-help us…”
She knew from the tone of his voice that death hung around this man like a fog, his time was almost up. She turned to the door and opened it, “Come in.”
~
The man had a kunai stuck in his back, had been poisoned, almost been strangled, drowned, had several broken bones and contusions. The person after him OBVIOUSLY wanted him quite dead.
“So feeling any better?”
The man nodded. “Yes, much better now. Thank you.”
It's amazing how far Tylenol and anesthetic can take you.
The man explained that his name was Yuzyuu Amaori, From Konoha Leaf village. His words were slurred from the drugs, but Bianca was able to make out most ofwhat he was saying.
Apparently, Civil war had broken out for several reasons; something of great importance had been stolen from Village hidden in the Rock. The Tsuchikage there accused Shinobi of Leaf of stealing it when they made their rounds. Villagers say they saw the accused ninja carrying a burden when they returned to the village. The Hokage herself testified for their innocence. However, trades coming from the Land of Rocks has halted and the countries are at each other's necks, this causes economical problems since Village hidden in the Rocks supplied most of the fuel that Leaf used. The Villagers now resent the Hokage, not putting their trust in their leader.
Yuzyuu handed Bianca a scroll containing more of the finer points of the mission before promptly passing out.
Bianca sighed. This would be fun.
~Taylor
Taylor walked through a large entrance way, admiring the fine architecture for some moments before walking towards a booth.
With ninja tools on her brain, she scanned the merchandise before quickly finding what she needed.
After getting about 50 meters of wire, 7 Kunai, a light bomb, 2 smoke bombs, a small packet of solider pills, 10 explosive notes, and 3 shuriken Taylor was ready to go.
In the lobby, a squat old woman met Taylor at the front, handing her a black phone, and excusing herself, bowing quickly.
(A/n: OH YES! I forgot to tell you all this, Taylor's eyes are green!)
She held the receiver up to her ear and waited for the person on the other end to start talking, soon a grin was lit on her face, followed by a squeal of joy, “Alrighty I'll be right there!”
Pushing open the door and throwing the phone at the poor old lady, Taylor zoomed out of the storm faster then a person on….uh…. I dunno…. Ice?
~
Without even knocking on the door, Taylor let herself into the house, kicking off her shoes and walking around.
“Oy! Bi-Chan! Where are yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!?”
Bianca poked her head out from behind a door and gave Taylor a flat look, “Don't you knock?”
“It's your fault for keeping the door unlocked!”
“…Touché Taylor, Touché…” She muttered coming out and tossing a dark green scroll at the tall girl. “Here's the information.”
Taylor's eyes passed three sentences before she tossed the scroll back at Bianca and grinned, “Sounds like fun!”
Not blinking she set the scroll in her weapons pouch, “Ready to go?”
“Aren't I always?!”
~
When they had passed the gates to Konoha village, the two girls had to stop and gape. The proud hidden village which was believed to be the most powerful of all the hidden seemed unharmed but, the villagers' faces seemed tight, cold, and wary.
“Cha, oh great…”
“Uh, this is going to be harder then we thought…”
“Yuuuuup…”
~
They had passed many doors when they finally reached the Hokages'. Knocking, they entered and bowed slightly before presenting themselves to the Hokage. Almost instantly, She stood up and handed them each a scroll before herding them out.
“You mission is the Sand, Yours is to Grass, Both S-ranked, Details inside, Good luck!” The woman said in a clipped tone, pushing them out of the red door.
Slightly put-off, the two girls glanced at each other before marching into the room again.
“Excuse me.”
The Hokage glanced up from her large pile of paper and gave the two girls a sour look, golden eyes flashing. “Is there a problem with your mission…?” She asked dangerously.
Bianca and Taylor exchanged looks before gulping.
“Uh, Hokage-Hime, We've already received a mission,” Bianca said, hastily pulling it out, “We received it about a day and a half ago.”
“And we accept it!” Taylor put in.
Tsunande nodded and stood up, “Ah yes, you're the two, this is a very important mission you know…”
“So it would seem”
The Hokage continued as though she hadn't been interrupted in the first place, “I'll be assigning one or two other people to join you in the mission…”
Mouths opened, ready to argue.
“AND they will be two of my most accomplished shinobi.” She said bluntly, leaving no room for discussion.
Taylor stood up but grinned anyway, looking at Bianca, “I feel sorry for them already.”
She nodded solemnly, a grin also cracking on her face.
“They are both currently on a mission right now, when they return, I'll make sure they know who and where you are.” Tsunande smirked and ushered Taylor and Bianca out of the room into the long corridor. “You'll be staying in the rooms I provide here, they should be marked with an X and an O”
They walked down and went into their separate rooms, “So, think they trust us?” Taylor asked with a knowing smile.
“Not. One. Bit.”
~ Kakashi
Kakashi was just returning from his mission, waiting a few seconds outside of the gates of Konoha, He really didn't want to see the condition it was in.
Crossing the threshold, he sucked in breathe he knew was going to burst. Several years of not showing his emotions came in handy when he passed by the tired and worn faces of the villagers.
He walked steadily towards the Hokages' office, then realizing that she'd probably assign him another mission the instant his foot crossed the door, he veered off his course and took a seat in the Ichiraku Bar.
Normally gossip wasn't his style, 89% of what went on in the streets was completely BS, however, that didn't stop him from keeping his ears sharp to the other 11% that WAS true.
Two women sitting next to him were chatting avidly about Only-God-Knows-What. Kakashi, getting ready to file this conversation into the 89% category of bullshit when the conversation swerved and his ears picked up a rather interesting tid-bit of information.
Two unknown ninjas had entered Konoha about three hours ago.
Apparently they went straight to the Hokage, they weren't seen leaving.
Knowing not to assume this information was true; Kakashi decided to check things out himself, meaning giving the Hokage herself a visit.
Hell, he had to turn in his Mission report anyway… Maybe he'd `forget' to give it to her just to piss her off…
Standing up, he left, leaving the money on the table.
~Taylor
Taylor bounced on her bed, listening to the springs groan. Then she'd jump off and bang into the wall, making a loud THUD before sliding down in a fit of giggles. She'd continue to do this, giving Bianca, who was trying to sleep next door, a rather bad headache.
“Hey Tay” She said sleepily. “Why don't you go out and explore for a little bit…?”
Taylor pressed her finger to her lips (while still jumping on the bed), and contemplated Biancas' offer.
“I'll get you two bars of chocolate.” A flat tone.
Taylor punched the air in front of her, “Heck yes!!! I'm sold!”
She opened the window and climbed out. This was an impulse that every good ninja had; an affinity for windows. She grabbed onto the wire attached to the building and grinned, “BOOMS AWAY!” she yelled, jumping for a ledge.
She had miscalculated that jump; she put too much energy into it and fell on her butt, landing on the ledge rather ungraceful for a ninja.
Instead of just staying there, Lady Luck seemed to be smiling on Taylor that day. It had just rained the day before making the ledge very slippery making one heck of a water slide.
So she slid.
And slid.
And slid.
And slid some more.
Untillllllll…
~ Kakashi
*BAM!*
Kakashi is one of those types of people who are never surprised. However, there are rare occasions. Take for instance the moment that just happened right now.
Kakashi never saw it coming. A girl falling out of the sky it seemed, falling directly on him.
He blinked the spots out of his eye, letting it focus on the girl on top of him.
`Hello! What's this?!”
~
“Special delivery” Kakashi was at Tsunande's door. “I found something I think might belong to you.”
“Come in” She muttered through the door.
Kakashi slipped in quietly and went to her desk. “A little birdie fell on me, thought I should return her to you.”
She raised an eyebrow, “How kind of you.”
Kakashi said nothing as Tsunande stood up and walked around the desk, but while she took Taylor from his arms, he quickly stole a glance at the girl, dedicating her features to memory.
She had long silky, brown hair, pulled back and plaited. Soft, creamy skin, so creamy it was almost pale in complexion. He didn't know what color her eyes were, but he would assume they were brown for now, considering that most people had them. Judging by looks, he estimated that she was about 16 or 17. He then subconsciously noted that she had very nice curves for someone her age.
Tsunande suddenly looked very angry at him.
`Oh, she was talking to me…'
“Ma, sorry, sorry, what was that?” He said lazily, rubbing the back of his head, his visible eye crinkling in a smile.
“I said.” The hokage glowered and tapped her foot rhythmically, “For you to meet your new team member on your next mission.”
He blinked, “Ma, Say what?”
“Your new team member”
“Who?”
“This girl”
“That girl???”
“The very one”
“The one that dropped on me like a sack of potatoes?”
“Yes.”
“…”
“…”
“Sounds fun, her name?”
“Taylor.”
~Taylor
Taylor blinked, she was alive. That was always good to know. She remembered sliding down a ramp that was attached to a roof. Then the ramp ended. She was upside down. She hit her head on something hard. Then landed on something less hard, but slightly squishy. Now she was back where she started. In her room.
She sat up and swung her legs over the bed, standing up halfway only to land flat on her rump again.
“Ma… You should stay down; you gave yourself a pretty nasty bump on the head.” muttered a voice from across the room.
Taylor turned and looked at the owner of the voice. He was a tall man, in his twenties, a shock of silver hair tousled on his head and a soft grey eye peering at her from under the mass of hair. He wore the symbol of Konoha on his forehead protector that was covering his opposite eye, signifying he was a ninja from the village and that he probably wasn't an enemy. The rest of his face was a mystery to her, it was covered in a mask pulled up to his nose, and all you could see was that one eye.
Taylor blinked, there was something oddly alluring about this man; unable to put her finger on it, she spoke up. “Who are you?”
The man looked up at her for a moment, and then turned his gaze towards small orange book he was holding, waving off her question. “It's rude to ask that before introducing yourself.”
Taylor blinked and grinned. “Well ok then! I am the one and only TAYLOR!”
The man looked up briefly and raised his eyebrow. “Interesting” He then buried his nose back into the book he was reading.“…”
“…”
“…”
“HEY!” Taylor fumed, “Aren't you going to tell me YOUR name!?”
The man blinked and looked up again. “Well, if you want it, you could have asked.”
“…”
“My name is Hatake Kakashi.”
~Bianca
Bianca was bored. Unbelievably bored. After taking some painkillers for her headache, she knew she shouldn't have sent Taylor off by herself. Why? Because she'd be bored, that's why. Standing up, she decided she'd explore the town, maybe run into Taylor and get her to lead her back to the Hokages' place since she had no sense of direction.
She put her hand on the doorknob and walked out into the hallway, heading out into swarming seething mass of people.
~Neji
“Mission accomplished!” a tall man clad in green yelled, tears streaming down his face, “Ah! The fiery passion of youth fills us all! Justice has been served!”
“Yes Gai sensei!” A boy look-a-like yelled, tears also streaming down his face, “Our team full of youthful vigor saved the day!”
“Come my pupils! (a/n: I was so tempted to say `minions' here…) I shall treat you all to a feast of ramen!!!” Gai yelled, the stream of tears turning into a river. “This day will be marked down in history! Decades of young people shall celebrate our victory!!!”
A girl sighed, “Ah… all we did was capture some common thieves… It wasn't so big…”
A boy next to her sighed and sweatdropped, “It's best just to play along with it, they're past the point of reasoning with anyway…”
And so team Gai marched, the two look alikes leading the way with enthusiastic smiles, and two stragglers following with not-so-enthusiastic smiles. (Not that they were smiles in the first place… but Oh well…)
~Bianca
Bianca was in an alleyway, hiding from a psychopathic sales-person. He had seen her forehead protector on her arm and immediately tried to sell her a bunch of useless tourism crap.
So she was hiding from him, even now, he was roaming the streets, ready to pick her out of the crowd and ambush her.
Lesson learned; don't walk out of the house un-armed. EVER. Psycho Sales-people will and are NOT afraid to attack on sight.
She poked her head around the edge of the wall.
A tumble-weed blew down the dusty road.
It LOOKED safe…
She stepped out, and looked around cautiously.
“LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL HAND MADE BRACELET! MADE WITH THE FINEST OAKWOOD YOU COULD EVER FIND! ACT NOW AND I'LL INCLUDE THIS TOP OF THE LINE JEWERLY CASE! IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS NOW, YOUR MARRAGE WILL BE RUINED AND IF-”
Even the man with the golden shoes wouldn't have been able to catch up with Bianca.
~Neji
Neji stood up, “Excuse me Gai sensei, I think I have to leave now.”
The conversation had taken a rather odd turn, changing from the mission they just finished to rather interesting things that I don't wish to share in my fic and leave to your imagination now.
“So soon Neji?” Ten Ten asked, her eyes clearly stating `Don't leave me with these idiots, PLEASE!'
He shrugged and closed his pearly eyes, “Sayonara”
“Good Bye Neji! Let the fountain of youth stay strong in you for the rest of the day!” Gai roared loudly, turning to his little side-kick he added, “Another bowl Lee? We must build up our strength for another victorious legend to be born!”
“Yes Gai Sensei!”
Neji nodded and left, leaving his teacher (and two comrades) with his insane `Youthfulness'.
He really needed a break.
~Bianca
Bianca had finally gotten rid of the creepy sales-man, but it cost her pair of nice shoes she had bought recently for hard missions. (This happens to prove that the man was a track star.) So now she was walking around in shoes that had the sole rubbed completely away, basically two pieces of cloth on the top of her feet were what little protection she had. She just hoped there weren't any nails on the ground.
“SALES, SALES, SALES, SALES! YOU'LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER BARGAIN LIKE THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIF-”
Bianca sighed tiredly; this man just wouldn't stop… So kicking off the soft ground again, she ran like forest gump.
She wove through the people looking behind her every now and then for the guy who was stalking her. Surprisingly, when she looked, he wasn't there. Still looking (and running by the way) Bianca ran directly into a person, sending them both sprawling on the ground.
“kya… whoops…”
“…”
~ Neji
After meeting in a pretty humiliating way, Neji introduced himself to the girl in front of him.
“Where were you going in such a hurry?” Neji stood up and helped her up, beyond that fixing her with a fixated stare/glare.
Feeling kinda smaller then usual under Nejis' hard look Bianca blinked nervously, “I was running from a salesperson…” She said, knowing the words sounded as stupid out loud as they did in her head. She held up her tattered shoes, “I have proof.” She exclaimed, “My poor shoes have suffered the worst part of his attacks!”
Neji sweatdropped, “That must have been *some* hike.”
“You don't know the half of it.”
“HEY HEY HEY, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON! NO ONE CAN OFFER YOU THIS PATIENATE STAINLESS STEAL *erm* STEEL LIKE I CAN, SO MAKE-”
“Oh no…”
“That him?” Neji asked, nodding at Bianca, “I can see why you ran…”
“That seems like a good plan right now”
“I agree”
~
Both teens had been running and hiding from the crazy man for a good half an hour, eventually, it was Neji's idea to hide in the one place no man would dare to go. No not the woman's restroom, Neji had already stepped on that idea earlier. But the building of the Hokage.
“Hey!” Bianca exclaimed, “This is where I'm staying!”
“Really? Well that was lucky.”
They turned around to see a smoke cloud rising up from the hill below them. “It looks like he's catching up, damn he's fast.”
“Then let's hope our luck lasts” Neji said flatly, jumping on the porch of the Hokage building, “Hurry.”
Bianca complied, jumping up too and landing on the porch.
~
“Looks like we're safe” Bianca breathed out, looking out the glass doors.
“Yes, the guards don't allow proprietors enter the grounds” Neji replied, “Although they *sometimes* make it through, basically this was a gamble.”
“How hopeful.” Bianca replied
~Neji
Neji and Bianca walked down a hall, chatting every now and then, “I hope you can find your room on your own.”
Bianca smirked a little, “With my luck, it'll probably take me a couple of hours, but I think I can manage it in half of one.”
“That's always good to know.” Neji said, opening the door, “I'm turning in the mission report for Gai sensei, He probably forgot it in the fountain of youth.”
Bianca grinned and sweatdropped, “Good luck finding it” Then headed down the hall opposite of him, waving `bye', “Thanks for your help!”
Neji shrugged when she left, he could easily say his community service was done for the day, but that was kinda fun.
~
“Hokage-same, I have your mission report”
“Oh Neji, I was hoping *you'd* be the one to deliver it…”
“…”
Neji knew what that smile meant on Tsunande's face. He signed in resignation. He had another mission. So much for a break.
~Taylor
Taylor woke up in the morning, head bruised but feeling quite fine; she even didn't have a headache!
“Feeling better?” Kakashi asked, bringing Taylor a tray of food. “Once you eat, the Hokage wants you; she'll brief you on your mission fully when you get to her office.”
Taylor nodded and smiled wide, “Thank you Kaka-cake!”
“…”
Choosing to ignore the nick-name, Kakashi set the tray on her lap and made for the door, choosing to leave before Taylor thought of anything else creative.
“Ano…, Bunny Butt, Where's Bi-chan???”
Assuming Bunny Butt was himself, Kakashi turned and straightened up to his full height, “Your friend is in the next room over eating breakfast as well, she'll join you when she's ready.”
He turned again towards the door, hopefully to escape when Taylor hummed, `I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts'
`Well, I can't say it isn't going to be interesting having her around.' Kakashi thought with a slight smile when he left.
~
“Your Mission: It will take place in two parts,” Tsunande started once everyone was there. “You will infiltrate the village hidden in rock, find out what they CLAIM we stole from them, and find out as much information as possible.
“The second part will be much harder, find proof that what they are stating against the Leaf is false. No doubt they've hidden the evidence well.”
The two girls nodded, “That sounds pretty decent”
“Ya, it's not that hard right?”
Tsunande slammed her hand on her desk, splintering the surface of it, “Don't be so cocky. It will be hard; it's already bad enough that I'm sending two of my ninjas into enemy territory.”
“Cha, it's easier to send two people who have no relation to leaf, ne?”
“Yup, that's why she's sending us! I'm from Mist, you're from cloud! That's as far a relation as she can get!”
“True True.”
“If you two are DONE, I'd like you to meet your two members.” Tsunande growled, a stress mark pulsing on her forehead, “Kakashi, Neji, Come in.”
Both girls craned their necks backwards, “No. way.”
“Yes way.” Kakashi said flatly, coming in, “It's always good to see such youthful vigor.”
“Ah, Kakashi, you're sounding like Gai sensei.”
“I'm going to have to watch that then…”
Tsunande nodded, “This will be a four-man cell, With Kakashi as leader.” She pointed at the two girls, “And you will LISTEN to his orders.”
Taylor snorted, “Okay dokey”
“And go THROUGH with his plans.”
“…aw… Ok.”
Kakashi sighed, He was already wondering what he was going to tell the Hokage when they failed this mission.
~Author
W00t!!!!! Twelve pages! An all time record for me!!!!!!! Hahahaha! Go me! Yup, so now you all know what the mission IS. Don't worry, you know how Naruto is, Things just aren't as easy as they appear! This WAS going to be a seven part mission cuz y'know, 7 is a lucky number. However, I knew I would never be able to finish writing this, so yeah! I decided on the NEXT lucky number in writing! Three! Lol, yeah, there's only two right now, but Oh well.
Next time:
“No way in hell am I doing that!”
“Come on! Why not!?”
“Because that's DEGRADING”
Kakashi stood up from the place he was sitting on and walked over to the two bickering girls. “This is how you solve this problem.” He said calmly before picking Bianca up by the scruff of her neck and stuffing her in a hole. “There. All is solved.”
