Chapter 6 Problem Solved
The sun peeked through the drapes that covered the windows in Naruto's house. The tiny rays of light dotted randomly across the room. Some landing on the curled up lovers that slept soundly on a king sized bed. A ray of light was hitting Itachi right in the eye and it was bothering him. Shifting slightly Itachi repositioned himself and Naruto so that any rays of light would not hit them squarely in the eyes. Naruto groaned and turned over in his sleep before snuggling closer to Itachi. Itachi just smiled before drifting off to sleep again.
To say Umino Iruka was a bit ruffled was an understatement. A certain Copy Ninja had paid him a visit last night and to say they humped like gorillas was another understatement. Iruka was late to the academy, which never happened, and Iruka was worried that his students were tearing up the classroom. To his surprise they weren't, but they were yelling and screaming like a clan of barbarians. Iruka finally pulled things in order and started his lesson.
Naruto woke up to an empty bed. Wondering where his love had gotten, so Naruto got up, slipped a shirt and a pair of sweat pants, and made his way to the kitchen. Like he thought, Naruto found Itachi in the kitchen making breakfast. Naruto glanced at the clock on the wall. 'Ten o' clock. It's not too late for breakfast. At least not for me' Naruto thought as he approached his love. Itachi had sensed his slightly half asleep lover making his way from the bedroom to the kitchen and started to put the coffee to make. Itachi had gotten up a half an hour ago and had been busy making pancakes, eggs, and bacon. He felt Naruto place his arms around his waist so Itachi turned in Naruto's embrace to properly hold his small love.
"Morning" Naruto's greeting came muffled because his head was buried in Itachi's chest. Itachi just chuckled.
"Morning little love. Have a great sleep?"
"Yeah. I had some help." Naruto raised his head to look at Itachi. A sleepy smile inched its way on Naruto's face.
"Jiraiya was looking for you earlier. I told him you would be at the Hokage tower when you were up and ready."
"(sigh) I need to organize Kakashi and his ANBU team and have them dispatch at night fall. If what you said is true, the ANBU would be able to find them easily, especially when they Kiba and Akamaru on the team."
"Yes I forgot about those two. Kiba scares me though. I think he's more dog than human."
"Sadly everyone thinks so too. He's been like that since we both started at the academy"
"Then I feel for you love. Who else was in your class?"
"Shikamaru, Ino, Sakura, Sasuke, Shino, Kiba, Choji, Neji, Hinata, Rock Lee, and Tenten."
"I remember. Interesting graduating class Iruka had."
"You have no idea." Itachi looked at Naruto with questioning eyes before taking the last of the pancakes off the pan. Naruto filled two plates and set them on the table before going to fill a cup with orange juice. Itachi poured the coffee in two mugs before heading to the dining room table. setting the two mugs down, Itachi took his seat next to Naruto as Naruto sat down. They ate breakfast while discussing that matters and defense of the village.
Naruto had asked Kakashi to come to the office and he did just that but what was surprising was that the Jounin had showed up on time. Naruto was even amazed. Giving Kakashi the mission briefing and dismissing him Naruto went to file some paperwork involving the new little ones that would be entering the academy next year. Pulling on the second drawer, Naruto was ready to sort through the files and put them in alphabetical order but that idea seemed to fly out the window. Naruto pulled on the drawer again but it would not open. A knock on the door told Naruto that his audience was needed so he bid whoever it was entry. Kiba walked in with Akamaru tucked snuggly in his coat with his head poking out. Kiba just stood at the door watching his long time friend struggle with the cabinet drawer. Closing the door behind him, Kiba joined in the struggle only to find out that the cabinet drawer was stuck and refused to budge.
Falling to the floor in exhaustion, Kiba and Naruto rested and caught their breathe. The both of them stood up and stared at the filing cabinet. Remembering the solution they had come up with back in their academy days Kiba and Naruto took stance and kicked the cabinet drawer forcing it open. Smiling in pride Naruto began filing as Kiba helped. Akamaru just kept to Kiba's coat watching.
"So Kiba what are you doing here?" Naruto asked placing three more files in the A section.
"Well I was wondering if I could get some advice." Kiba replied placing a file in the S section.
"What do you need my advice in?"
"Well I was wondering if you can help me with Hinata" Naruto stopped and stared at Kiba
"I can't force her to love you"
"No! No that's not what I meant! I mean how can I get her to notice me. I mean come on I flirt with her and she is totally oblivious!" Naruto just shook his head and smiled.
"Kiba, you need to stop that. You don't think Itachi did the same? Here's what you need to do. Talk to her about any subject at all, then when the moment fells right ask her to lunch or dinner. Simple as that."
"I never pictured you as a bottom in bed or a relationship Naruto."
"Trust me. Being a bottom has its advantages. Is there anything else you would like to talk about?"
"Yes. The mission you are sending me one with the rest of Kakashi's team. Do you want us to bring back prisoners or..."
"No. This is the one time I will not allow that. Destroy anything you kill and what ever members that belong to other villages tell me so I can send a scroll telling of their demise."
"Alright. Oh Naruto?"
"Yeah."
"I never would have expected you to become such an awesome Hokage, but I always knew that you would become one because of your loyalty to the village. I still don't understand how you can love a village that hated and cursed you"
"Because I gained friends. When we were eight you noticed me and despite what your parents said or did you still played with me. You changed their opinion of me and you were such a great friend. Sasuke is another issue. Sakura....I don't know. Kakashi-sensei...despite him being a complete pervert he is like a big brother. Iruka-sensei is like a father. Need I say more?" Kiba smiled and laughed.
"You cease to amaze me Naruto. Why doubt Sakura though?"
"You know why"
"Ah yes. The big blowup when she found out about you and Itachi."
"That and when she found out about Gaara and Sasuke"
"How did that happen?"
"She walked in"
"Whoops"
"You can say that again. Sakura was not too happy. Ino was happy because..."
"Sasuke had someone he was happy with" Kiba finished Naruto's sentence
"Exactly. Anything else?"
"Nope. I need to go anyway. I have to meet up with Neji for a spar before getting ready for the mission tonight."
"See you later then"
"See you"
Kiba left the office leaving the door open. Naruto wondered why until Itachi stepped into the room. Naruto gave a warm smile before finishing the last of the files. (There's a lot of kids) Itachi approached his love and wrapped his arms around Naruto's waist.
"What did Kiba want?"
"Some advice on love"
"He's still going after Hinata?"
"Yup. Poor guy seems to be on his wits end."
"Seems that way. Love?"
"Yes?"
"May I ask you a very important question."
"Yes."
"Are you sure because I..."
"Itachi please ask the damn question."
"Will you marry me?"
"W...w...what?"
"Will...Will you marry me" Naruto went silent for a few minutes before turning in Itachi's embrace and kissing him. Naruto could feel a grin spread through out his face.
"Yes you stoic son of a bitch. Yes" Itachi smiled and kissed Naruto. Itachi had never felt so happy in his life and neither had Naruto. Still smiling like idiots, Itachi and Naruto sat on the floor. Naruto on Itachi's lap and Itachi just holding Naruto close. Itachi pulled a ring from his pocket and slipped it on Naruto's finger. Naruto just smiled and kissed Itachi again. Yup, they couldn't be happier.
"Funny"
"What?"
"I guess we will visit the hospital once in a while"
"Why's that love?"
"After what happened last night..."
"Don't you even think about telling anybody. I just hope that I do not get stuck again"
"At least I relaxed enough for you to pull out"
"You have no idea how painful that is"
"No I don't and I hope I don't have to"
