Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Those Things You Do ❯ A Day of Rain ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
A/N: So, this is the first chapter of my first attempt at a Naruto yaoi fanfic. I do not own Naruto or any of the characters from said anime…I mean seriously, if I did…do you think I would even –have- to write this? It would already be in the manga XD
A/N 2:This story is set about 5 years in the future (from when they were 12…so Naruto is 17) and goes on the premise that Naruto was able to bring Sasuke back after his 3 years training with Jiraiya. Keep in mind this is going to be a SasuNaru fic, it will be slow going at first since I have to set up the plot line (yes a plot!). Reviews are welcomed and I will try to reply to them as soon as I can ^_^ . Flames too…however be advised…I don’t respond to them ^_^; Takes too much time. So on with the story!!
Chapter 1: The Day of Rain.
[It was pouring. No, pouring isn’t even close to how hard the rain was coming down. You could barely hear yourself sloshing in the muddy grounds. People were screaming right next to you, yet they sounded as though miles away; the smell of death hung heavy and moist in the air and small rivers of blood flowed swiftly across the ground. This was a day of Hell; a day of rain.]
Naruto grunted as he collided with the muddy grounds, jarring his left shoulder so hard that he could feel it throughout his entire being. He pushed the pain aside, digging his heels into the ground he sprung up and backwards, narrowly missing a kunai that was intended for his heart.
‘Damn,’ he cursed as his attacker swiftly recovered and slashed at his midriff, splicing his shirt and scratching his abdomen. Naruto spun around and kicked the attacker in the face, knocking him off balance. With this small opening he charged his opponent and knocked him to the ground, sending the dangerous kunai into the bushes nearby. He slammed his fist into his attacker’s face and tried to hit him again, but his wrist was caught and he was flipped into a tree. A loud crack echoed through the forest as the tree gave way and snapped under the force of Naruto’s impact.
Naruto grunted again in pain and shook his head to rid himself of the dark edges closing in on his vision; he forced himself to stand once more and face his attacker. Naruto looked at him with anger in his eyes, ‘these damn Sound Ninja are a lot stronger than they used to be…I can’t see anything in this rain. I need to end this now…Konoha needs me,’ he thought quickly as he performed the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. Four Narutos appeared and surrounded the enemy. His enemy laughed in mockery and pulled out three more kunai from the case attached to his leg, “This is the best you can do? Do you really think you can win? Orochimaru-sama wants me to bring you in…one way or the other. And I always aim to please…demon child.”
Naruto’s eyes widened in shock, ‘How does he--…bastard. I won’t lose!’ Three of the clones dived at the Sound ninja, kunai aimed for his open vital spots. The ninja deftly avoided the first two clones and with two calculated hits they disappeared in puffs of smoke. The third clone was slightly more successful and with a swift kick, sent the ninja flying backwards. Unfortunately the ninja grabbed the clone’s ankle and sent him flying into a nearby tree, destroying him instantly.
Naruto smirked, ‘that was all the time I needed’. He looked at his hand; in it was a spinning ball of blue chakra. His enemy’s eyes widened slightly as he brushed himself off and took to his fighting stance, ‘this boy certainly is full of little tricks, isn’t he Orochimaru-sama,’ he thought fleetingly as he watched the blond ninja charge straight at him. “Do you really think that little jutsu of yours is going to hurt me? I am one of the strongest ninja under Orochimaru-sama’s leadership. Give up like the pathetic Konoha scum you are!”
The ninja charged straight at the already charging Naruto. Feinting a head on attack, he sped up and jumped straight into the air over Naruto. He looked down and smirked, “You can’t use that attack on someone when they aren’t right in front of you!” The ninja quickly shot three kunai straight at Naruto. They connected with a dull thud.
Naruto fell to the ground.
The rain poured down.
“Heh…stupid smug brat. Well Orochimaru-sama will be pleased with this turn of even–WHA?” the ninja froze in fear as he landed near the kunai he had just thrown. In front of his face was nothing. No body. No blood. Just the rain and a muddy ground. A tap on his shoulder jolted him out of his shock; “This technique isn’t the only thing I have working for me.”
The assassin turned in time to see two piercing blue eyes blazing with anger. And then there was an immense pain. His insides were twisting and burning and spinning at the same time. He felt as though he was being ripped apart. A scream lodged itself in his throat and he tried to free it, but all the came out was a gurgling sound. And then there was nothing: no pain, no sound. His vision started to fade and he felt himself slipping to the ground. Before the darkness took him completely he could see blood seeping from a gaping hole in his abdomen. It’s vibrant red color darkening as more and more gushed from his wound and mixed with the rain and mud underneath his cold body. He looked up slowly and saw his enemy’s back: the brilliant blond hair was the last thing he saw as death took him.
