"She always hangs around me when she's here," The Nara boy complained to his chunky companion.

"Maybe she likes you," Akamichi Chouji replied simply.

"Yeah right!" Shikamaru spat half his ramen out at the thought.

"Why not?" the other boy began, "I mean she knows you better and that may make her feel more comfortable while she is here, but then again Shikamaru, she doesn't really seem like the kinda girl that gets uncomfortable very easy. That and well, she doesn't make an effort to get to know any one else..." he paused, "I think she likes you," was his conclusion.

"What ever Chouji... you'd disagree if you got to know that troublesome woman, it's like she lives to make my life hell. Everytime she's here. She's just.... troublesome..." he finished. And she was.

"You wouldn't be talking bad about me behind my back now would ya Nara?" a husky female voice came from behind him. damn... He looked to Chouji and made a half effort to whisper, "Told you," to him as she took a seat next to him at the ramen shop.

What a pleasent day it had been... he had only had to deal with her that morning. Every thing had seemed fine and normal. He woke as normal, didn't clean his room as normal, got bitched at by his mom as usual. Everything had been the same thing as always, just the way Nara Shikamaru preferred it. The Chuunin exams were getting close again and the return of Uchiha Sasuke (bastard...) had caused quite a stirr, but besides that everything was fine, and actually Sasuke coming back had brought everything even MORE back to normal, besides the initail sitrr, because there was much more obvious angst through out the city of Konoha. A matter of fact, he could hear Sakura torturing the poor Uchiha at the moment.

"Sasuke-kun~!" the girl whined, "If you don't eat you're not going to heal properly! You must eat!"

"I'll be fine Sakura... I ate at home," he said irritably and she replied with a less than pleased look, "Sasuke-kun, I was there, you didn't eat a damn thing and I know it."

"Ne Sakura-chan, leave Sasuke-teme alone, if he doesn't eat I'll just continue to get stronger than him. Not that I need it or anything." Naruto replied through a mouth full of ramen looking up at his two team mates. This remark, of course, got him a swift strike to the back of his head landing him face
down in his ramen, "Shut up baka! Sasuke-kun is already stronger than you!"

Sasuke, looking less than pleased, got up and just left, his irritation very visible.

"Chotto matte Sasuke-kun!!!" The young pink haired girl lept from her seat and took off after him leaving a confused Naruto with the bill for all three of them.

Shikamaru sighed, he for once he kinda felt the Uchiha's frustration. He heard Temari order and she didn't say much to him for a whole 2 minutes (LE GASP!) as he finished his meal. He payed and got up to leave when she said something to stop him.

"Aren't you going to treat me Nara? I am a guest in this village," the blonde said in a voice that was to sweet for his liking. Shikamaru sighed and whispered under his breath, "Troublesome woman..." he paused in frustration then turned to face her, "You pay for your own, your freakin brother is the Kazekage I know you're not broke."

"So rude... I'm your guest Nara. You could pay for a small bowl of ramen. Your mother was right, you don't know how to treat a woman," she teased.

"Dammit woman, you just do this to see if you can actually get me to pay. I know you don't give a shit if I actually do or not. Why don't you just pay for it yourself and make things easier on everyone?" he was loosing patients.

"I thought you were the calm one," she replied, "but you always seem to loose your cool from what I see. Why is that?" The grin on her face and the tease in her voice only irritated him more. He knew this was all a game to her. She really didn't care. And the way she sat on the edge of her stool, legs crossed, leaning forward with her shoulders all hunched up, like she just couldn't wait for his reply so she could snap back at him again. It was like playing with a dog and it's got it's butt in the air because it knows you're about to lunge and when you do it just jumps right over you and waits for
you to pounce again because it knows you will never catch it. His blood just boiled. Everything about this insufferable girl made him want to kill her. He'd take Ino's constant nagging anyday. Anything... anyone... DEATH even, just not Temari.

He huffed, "Because you are the only one who seems to live just to makes me angry," he said through gritted teeth.

"Nonsense Nara," she replied releasing the hold her smiling teeth had on her bottom lip, "It's just so easy I don't have to live, let alone really even try to do it. Plus you're just so cute when you pout up like that." she pinched his cheek as she hopped cheerfully down from the stool and made her way to the entrance, he swated his hand at her but mist hers but missed, "Arrigatou," she said with her usual 'I win' grin as she stepped out. He just bit his bottom lip in anger and slammed the money on the table then shoved his hands in his pocket as he made his way out.

"You two argue like an old married couple..." Chouji put in, catching up to Shikamaru, who narrowed his eyes to his friend in response. "Well, it's true!" Chouji defended with a smile. Shika SO liked that suna girl and he knew it. The question was, did Shikamaru?

"So... where are we off to today?" the girl questioned, not bothering to look back at them, but rather just adjusted the fan on her back.

"Who says I'm taking you anywhere?" he said, starting to gain his lazy, laid back attitude again, but still slightly cocking an eyebrow, even though she couldn't see him.

"CHOUJI!!!!!!!!" the voice came seemingly out of no where and everywhere all at once. The ringing voice that could sound like sirens could belong to none other than his third team mate. 'Damned women...' Shikamaru thought, 'This is not my day...

Ino came charging out of no where and she was bitching before she even reached them. Shikamaru was at least used to tuning this one out because he couldn't understand a damned word she said as she just rambled on and on,
'Good thing she doesn't have asthma,' he though, cause she'd be dead by now.... on second thought.... He was shaken from his thoughts as he noticed poor Chouji being dragged off by the demon... er... girl. Chouji waved and tried to yell some thing that sounded like 'Catch ya later' but Shika couldn't hear him over Ino's consistant bitching.

"Yo, Nara." She poked him in the back with a single index finger to gain his attention again, "Where. are. we. going." she demanded to know.

"I don't care where you go woman," he said turning around, "Just leave me the hell alone."

"That's no way to talk to a lady, and I have a name ya know? TE MA RI. Besides, I don't know my way around dumb ass, you are supposed to be my guide," she reminded him. He noticed she was still following him. He hated the chuunin exams, he hated the chuunin exams, he hated the chuunin exams. He never replied to her... he just kept walking, half way hoping she would leave.

"Can't you bother someone else?" he finally breathed, barely loud enough for her to hear.

"Fine." She said, "I'll leave you alone ass. I'll be in my hotel room if I'm needed." she said almost pouting and stomped off. He turned slightly to peer over his shoulder as if he couldn't believe it was true, he almost felt a bit guilty, but then again. This was Temari, she was no normal woman.

Shikamaru gazed up at the clouds, he had gotten rid of her for a little while, but a meeting about the exams would start soon and he'd have to deal with her again. Even though she wasn't there, he was still thinking about her, around exam time she was such a hassel. He sighed and rolled over in the grass as he thought about what Chouji said about her liking him. "pfft..." he said aloud to no one but himself, "that woman hates my guts.... likes me, my ass."

She's beautiful sure, he thought, but shes completely unbearable. How anyone could stand her sometimes he couldn't figure out. Sure most of the time she wasn't that bad, though she was still the most troublesome woman he knew, she just usually wasn't this miserable to be around. Maybe it was just him, maybe she always had been like this, maybe he was just now starting to notice or something. He wasn't sure, all he knew was this was going to be HELL.

He sighed again, still unable to shake the devil woman from his thoughts, and stood. The meeting would start soon and he still had to go get her.

"Mendoukuse...."
