What tells us we are human?
Is it the meagre possessions we own in life?
No they simply fill the emptiness of our lives.

What tells us we are human?
Is it the beauties in nature?
No they are only a means to help appreciate beauty.

What tells us we are human?
Is it the ongoing battles between peoples?
No they are the outlets to greed and revenge.

What tells us we are human?
Is it the pain of wounds inflicted in fights?
No that helps tell us we are alive.

What tells us we are human?
Is it the birth of a new child?
No that is only ensuring the continuation of humanity.

What tells us we are human?
Is it our morals and codes?
No they allow us to decide on other's fates.

What tells us we are human?
Is it the anger we feel when we or others are wronged?
Yes it is. Anger fills a human and is their entire being.

What tells us we are human?
It is our compassion, respect, love, honour, envy, jealousy, hatred, anger, sadness, grief.
All our emotions
That is what tells us we are human.
