Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Blessings ( Chapter 17 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
If any of you are wondering why I'm turning most of the `u'h's to `yeah', and having more `yeah's, it's because I went back to look at all of the chapters with Deidara in them after Sanchikosakuraasked why I put u'h instead of un. Actually, I didn't find any `un's in it in the direct translation onemanga.com gives… Anyhow, since he says yeah more often then u'h, I'll be using that more.

Jessica sat up quickly as she heard the door unlock from the other side. As the blond man slid the door closed behind him with his back turned towards her, she watched him silently as she sat cross-legged. He had been out for a while now, so she wondered if he had gone out to eat. If he had, she hoped that he had the decency to get her breakfast as well.
“Omae, come here.” He said as he turned around. Sighing as she left the spot she had been comfortable in, Jessica walked until she was about an arms length apart from him. For a few seconds, the man looked over her with artistically as he rested his chin on his hand. “It should work.” He mumbled to himself. With a confused look on her face, Jessica tried to make out in her head on what he meant. It was then, that he took out a brown paper bag and placed it in her hands. “Try this on,” he demanded.
“Okay,” the girl replied slowly as she glanced from the bag to the man a few times. After a few seconds, she opened the bag to see what was inside. She could tell that it had to be some sort of a fabric, meaning it was clothing. Looking at the blond once more, she turned and walked into the bathroom before locking the door behind her.
Pulling the contents out of the bag, her eyes sparkled as she looked at the beautiful Asian looking shirt. She had seen other girls wear similar outfits, though theirs were dress-length. As she felt the material that reminded her of silk, she smiled as the material turned from a Safire blue to black as it folded. Taking off her other shirt, she quickly replaced it with the new as she tied the wide white cloth that held it together in a big bow behind her. As she gazed at herself in the mirror, she wondered what it could have been made of. He wouldn't have blown money of a silk top for a slave would he? She then suddenly remembered that there had been more in the bag that she hadn't bothered looking at. As she riffled throughout it, she pulled out a long, black skirt that had a slit on the left side that went up just below the knee. Bellow that, were two dark brown chopsticks that were crossing one another in some round hair thing, and a pair of the weirdest shoes she had ever seen. They looked like flip-flops, only they had two inch heels on the heel and the toe of the shoe and were made of wood. After giving it a strange look, she put the skirt on and placed the dark brown shoes on her feet.
“Who came up with this idea?” She asked herself as she tried walking around the small room with the shoes on her feet. “Perhaps people around here just want to look over all taller.” Returning to look in the mirror with the Asian hair piece, she wondered how the thing worked. It wasn't like the things you'd buy at the mall that had instructions on the back of the piece of cardboard it was displayed on. She guessed that Deidara must have bought it the way it was, since there would be no reason to take it off. Even if there had been directions, she wouldn't be able to read it. As she was about to attempt to put it in her hair, she had a feeling that she'd just get her hair into a giant knot. Sighing, she gave in and decided that she'd just leave her hair down. She didn't have that much hair anyhow. It wasn't as if she'd get a big bun out of it. Taking a step back from the mirror, she smiled even more as she looked at her reflection. She was beautiful, or at least a lot prettier than she did the week before. Only about on hour before, she had taken a shower and combed out all of the knots that had formed in it. Now, in her new clothes and clean hair, she felt refreshed.
“Thank you Lord!” She said quietly enough so that the blond wouldn't hear her at the other end of the door. “At least you remembered my birthday! Even though it isn't for another two days; I'll just count this an early birthday present.”
After brushing throughout her hair one last time with the comb she had left on the counter top, she walked out of the room as she tried to hide her joy. Her master, who now sat on the edge of her mat, glanced at her as a smirk came across his face. “Now that is how my slaves shall look.” He stated as she walked before him in the sliming dress. He then frowned as he looked at her hair.
“Why is your hair still down?”
“Well I have never put my hair up with things like that… I don't know how.” She replied with a nervous smile on her face as she held the sticks out in her hand. Standing to his feet, he commanded her to turn by rotating his hand as he took the task into his own hands.
“How long were you in the slave market? Honestly, you'd think that a girl should know how to do her own hair, yeah.” He said as he gathered all but her side bangs that were to short back into a small bun. Taking odd looking piece of polished wood, he put the bun throughout it before sliding in the two chopsticks on either end of it.
“You wouldn't believe how long I was there if I told you.” She replied as he made sure that his work satisfied his tastes.
“Is that so?” He questioned as he stood back. “Now keep it that way.”
“Alright,” she said as she tried feeling it. “I was wondering though; why did you buy me this?”
“Buy you this? I bought myself this, yeah. Sasori-san can't pick out anything right.” He replied as he sat back in the arm chair by the window.
“Really, huh I guess I might be able to understand what you're saying, a little… Thanks anyhow, you've made my day.” She said as she glanced over to the man who suddenly had an expression that showed that he didn't really know how to react to what she said. “My birthday is in two days… so I feel now that I haven't totally missed out on it, even if you didn't intentionally buy it right before it.”
“Whatever; just don't go back to wearing the junk Sasori bought you. I didn't really like that outfit in the first place; I should have bought it myself then, yeah… Oh, and I've got you some food on the end table.” He said pointing at it. As she nodded her head and thanked him yet again, she walked over to it and brought it back to her own mat. Taking the take-out container out of its bag, she opened it to find that it was soup again. She passed by the fact that it was the same one she had the day before, as she prayed silently to God. “Lord, thank you for this food and thank you so much for the new clothing. Please bless Deidara-sama for this… Lord even though he hasn't always treated me right, he hasn't been real bad to me either. I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.”
