Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ The cave ( Chapter 21 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Just to let you know, my chapters may be posted later at night or less often for a while because I have started to write a book I want to publish… Besides that I have homework and different end-year projects at school.

As the morning light filled the air, Jessica groaned as she sat down and rubbed her soar legs. They had been walking almost non-stop for over ten hours, and she felt as if her body would fall into pieces if pushed any farther. They were now at the edge of a cliff, that dropped off into a rushing river. As she straightened out her skirt, she brushed the remaining grains of sand that were lying in all of the folds in her clothing. She found that even inside of her clothes there was a large amount of sand that had built up from the travel. Could there have been anything worse than traveling in the desert for so long? Taking off her sandals, she beat out the sand that stuck to them before getting the sand that glued itself in between her toes.
“Hurry up Omae,” Deidara commanded as he looked over the sight that lay before them now. As the girl then let out an exhausted sigh as she pushed herself to her feet once again. Slowly walking up beside him, she looked from his face to the view below them. There was what looked to be a cave, with a giant stone over the entrance which had a large sheet of paper with Asian characters on it. In front of that, was tall Japanese styled archway made of red wood which had similar pieces of paper on it only in a smaller size.
“What's that,” She asked with curiosity in her voice.
“That's where we're heading,” the blond replied after glancing down at her. The girl then frowned out of misunderstanding. Seeing this, he went further to explain. “See that big rock? ...Yeah, that thing moves… There's a cave in there that we need to meet some people we work with in there… yeah.”
“So you like, roll away the stone is what you're saying?” She questioned as she put a hand on her hip and the other on her chin as if thinking.
“What is it?” He asked as she concentrated on the rock. For another moment the stood in silence as the girl found fascination in the large stone, which would never cease to puzzle the man.
Releasing her pose, she turned her face to look up at him before giving a faint smile. “Oh nothing, it just reminded me of a story is all.” She replied before looking up at the sky. “Of someone very important in my life and what He did that changed my future entirely… Anyhow, I'm still wondering; how are we supposed to get over there?”
Deidara then frowned at his realization. Jessica didn't have the slightest idea of what a shinobi could really do, let alone do any jutsus herself. There was no way she'd be able to easily walk across the water like the two of them could. Then, if she rod in on the bird, she might get mixed up with the one-tailed beast through the other Akatsuki members eyes. Then he'd have to explain the whole thing it would just a big pain for him. Rubbing his temples with his only hand, he watched Sasori as he jumped off of the cliff's edge, soon landing on the water's surface where his feet stayed above the water. Giving an exasperated sigh, he mumbled a few words of how annoying everything could be as he caught his slave girl in his capable arm before heading down the side of the cliff.
“Would you quit your screaming? It's annoying... yeah!” He yelled over the sound of the rushing winds. As the girl clung to his shoulder out of fear, she tried replying as her eyes teared up from the wind's force.
“You're crazy!” She screamed as they reached the water. With her eyes sealed tightly shut, she was readying herself to enter the water but found that only a small proportion of her had gotten wet from the splash of hitting the water's surface. Other than that, nothing seemed different than if they were walking on solid ground. “Huh,” she mumbled questionably as she looked down at the steady water beneath them. “Why aren't we sinking? Another jutsu,” she asked still shaken from the short and frightening adventure she just went throughout.
“Yeah,” Deidara replied as the clay bird flew over and hovered about five meters above them. “Now just hand on to me for a second,” he commanded as he pushed her over his shoulder and made a hand sign. As Jessica held onto his neck and shoulders tightly, she watched as the humongous rock lifted with a loud rumble. Now on the dry ground of a dark cave, she loosened her grip on her master's back until her feet touched the ground beneath her.
“You're late.” A voice from in the cave announced loudly. Shocked, Jessica looked around frantically in search of the speaker until she saw a shady figure of a man. “Prepare it immediately.”
From what she could tell, the man himself wasn't there, but instead it was a hologram of him. Who was this man? Jessica was then startled as a loud `poof' noise was created as the clay bird suddenly disappeared and only left the young red-headed man on the ground.
“This Jinchuuriki was stronger than I though… yeah.” Her master replied to the speaker as he stepped forwards. A few seconds later, a loud thud could be heard before a large, wooden carving of a man-like creature appeared in the middle of the room. The face of this creature had nine closed eyes, a mouth that had some scroll-looking thing in its mouth that was bounded by chains that went around the back of its head, along with two hands that were cuffed.
“Right…,” the voice from before said. “Who is this girl who you have with you?”
“She's my slave,” the blond stated as he glanced down at the girl who stayed near his sleeve.
“Make sure she stays out of the way.” The other man stated as he made a hand symbol with both of his hands. “Assemble,” he commanded. Suddenly, on each of the fingers of the carving, all but right hand's thumb and index, along with the left's thumb and pinky, had a hologram on it beside the two Sasori and Deidara now stood upon. The hologram of the first man still stood down below next to the boy who lay there half dead. “Now let us begin this…” The voice announced as Jessica watched from a distance with an uneasiness in her features.
