Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Over the water fall ( Chapter 53 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Deidara wrung his hair out on the grass as he let out an exhausted sigh. Never in his dreams did he imagine a few months before that anything like this would happen. How could so many things change in so little time? First he bought Jessica, who proved to keep one’s mind pretty occupied from all of the strange things she said and did. As if that wasn’t enough change in a month to get adjusted to, then his long-term partner took his tern and was now pushing up daisies. Well, metaphorically speaking; there wasn’t much of him that could possibly decay now. Then after going through the experience of losing both of his arms and then having to have them sown back on again in the middle of a forest wasn’t a very pleasant thing to go through either. To top that, he’d rather have to go through that whole experience ten times over than to be paired up with his current partner; Tobi. He couldn’t stand the sound of the mysterious man’s name. Whose idea was it to let him into the Akatsuki in the first place? He swore that who ever it was, he’d kill them. He had never thought before that life would get any harder than it was before, but he knew he thought wrong when he heard the news. To think that for once, he’d actually be thankful that he was paired up with Sasori whenever he ran into Tobi, and now the whole thing was worthless. Just thinking of his name drove a trembling rage through his bones. Tobi; the name fit him perfectly. He was sure that if the name had been any longer than it was that he’d have to wear a name tag to remember his own name with the brains he had! Who’d afflict such a name on their child? Surely, if he ever had any children, he would forbid any of his decadence from having the name “Tobi” or anything close to it!
“Hey Sempai,” he heard from behind. As his body stiffened from the sound of the man’s voice, he slowly turned to look at the one he least wanted to see.
“Tobi, what are you doing?” He growled as he glared at the man.
“Tobi is watching you, what do you think I’m doing?” He replied as he cocked his head slightly as he stood on a rock that peaked out of the water.
“I can see that; why on earth are you doing it, huh? I told you not to come near me! You pervert, I’m half naked!” He shouted as he warned the man with arm signals that he should not get any closer if he fears for his safety.
“You’re not half naked Sempai, you just don’t have your shirt on,” Tobi replied as he placed his hands on his hips.
“That’s exactly it! Even if I was fully dressed, I still don’t want you anywhere near me, you hear? As if I don’t get enough of you during the rest of the day,” he mumbled as he turned around again. Slipping his black net shirt along with his short black tank top over his head, he let out another annoyed sigh as he tried brushing out his long, wet hair with his fingers. Not a moment later though, both of the men’s heads snapped as they heard a high pitched yell ring through the air.
“I think that was Jessica-chan,” Tobi declared in an almost worried voice as he crouched down a bit as if he were ready to take off. Frowning with a shared worry, whether it was stronger than the others or not, the blond then ran down along the river’s side towards the alarmed sound.
“What could have happened this time? Could it be more thugs? Do I have to keep an eye on the girl every second now for her to be safe?” He thought to himself as he darted around bushes and trees. As he quickly sped, he then slowed down slightly as he found the black back pack lying on the ground, along with an Akatsuki cloak lying on a half-dead tree branch. What slightly alarmed him was that beside it lay Jessica’s clothing as well. Picking up full speed again, he scanned the whole area thoroughly for any signs of the girl. Shortly afterwards, he found his slave girl’s wooden sandals lying on the ground as if they were quickly thrown off for some reason. Hearing another cry, he then continued to pursue it until the small figure appeared in the distance. The girl, who was now almost completely on her knees with her hands extended out as if she were trying to grab something, was trembling slightly. Seeing that she was safe and unharmed, he then closed his eyes for a moment before approaching her. It seemed to him that she didn’t hear him approach at all, since she didn’t turn to look at him. This though, was probably because the sound of his footsteps was over powered with the roar of the waterfall that lay ahead only a few meters ahead of them.
“What on earth am I going to do? What on earth am I going to do Lord, what am I going to do?” She said almost in tears as her throat became stuffed up.
“Jessica, what’s wrong?” He asked as he came mere inches from the girl who quickly turned to look back at him. With an expression that almost held fear, let alone shock, she quickly stood up and looked as if she were in utter panic.
“Deidara-sama, I was washing the cloaks like you asked me to and… And I was scrubbing and… And then I could smell that the stinky smell was on me so then I washed myself, and-and- I leaned on that branch and…” She choked out in one breath.
“Out with it already,” he said in a slight grumble as the girl look up at him nervously. As bitter tears started to form in her eyes again, she then pointed towards the waterfall. “What about it, hnm?” He asked rather impatiently.
“One of the cloaks went over the waterfall and is stuck on a branch half way down!” She declared loudly. As his face turned slightly pale, he then placed his hands on her shoulders.
“Jessica which cloak was it? Which one,” he shouted as he shook her slightly.
“I don’t know; they look exactly the same to me!” She whimpered. Seconds later, Tobi appeared.
“So Jessica-chan is alright then, Sempai?” Tobi asked as he approached. “Jessica-chan, thanks for washing my cloak! I saw it lying out on that branch; you did a good job for a new timer!” He said as he nodded his head and crossed his arms in front of his chest. Deidara’s grip on the girl was then stiff as he just stared at his partner with utter rage.
“Are you sure that’s your cloak?” He asked coldly.
“Why of course Tobi knows! I wear it all the time Sempai, I should know; you know?” He replied as he cocked his head slightly. The blond’s face was still in the same position; it looked as if it had been frozen in time since he heard the results in whose cloak it was that went down the falls.
“Deidara-sama…” Jessica muttered worriedly under her breath as her shoulders started to grow sore from the tight grip he had on them.
“What is there something wrong with that? Where’s your cloak Sempai?” The masked man asked as silence then fell over the group.
