Chapter 4: A Broken Heart is revealed

 

It had been seven years; seven frickin years and there had still been no sign of Kaoru or Hikaru. Itachi sighed as he race back to Akatsuki base that had been his hideout ever since he had killed the Uchiha clan.

 

His foolish brother was still after him trying to “avenge the clan” as he called it, it seemed as if Sasuke had forgotten Hikaru and Kaoru. “Hikaru” thought Itachi as he finally approached the base, “ I swear to find you and Kaoru and I swear to tell you…”

 

Itachi was then rudely pulled out of his thoughts when he heard a familiar “yo” from his teammate, Kisame. “What!” muttered Itachi in annoyed tone as he noticed Deideira and Sasori with them as well.

 

Kisame looked a bit shocked, but ignored it and replied “We have another mission in Rock Country.” Itachi sighed and merely followed, his mind still on Hikaru and her bright smile.

 

Deep in Rock Country, Itachi could feel the sense of negative energy radiating from the mountain, just as the leader had said. The energy felt strangely familiar yet it felt completely evil and deadly.

 

As they gained up onto the mountain where the energy was coming from, Deideira murmured, “I don't like this, its evil, pure evil.” “And you call yourself an Akatsuki member.” teased Kisame.

 

Sasori sighed with frustration and Itachi was merely annoyed. As they started to climb the mountain, Itachi heard crying. Not just any crying but that of a young girl, it was somehow very familiar.

 

As they finally reached the top, they saw black bolts of negative chakra hanging around a cave. “Must be in there” said Sasori, “Come on” As the four of them started to walk in, the waves of negative chakra and the sounds of crying grew louder.

 

“This is creepy, even for me!” exclaimed Kisame in a hushed voice. “ Oh suck it up,” retorted Deideira. Finally, they reached the end of the cave where there was a black sphere floating made entirely of negative chakra.

 

The whole cave seemed to grow brighter compared to the swirling mass that was the sphere. The sound of crying was so unbearable now even Itachi had to cover his ears.

 

It was then that Sasori muttered, “Look at this.” All the other teammates crowded around the part of the sphere and stared at the inscription on the black sphere. Itachi took a deep breath and started to read

Blood will spill blood

When the moon is dark with vengeance

And the light is dark with sorrow

The Serpent will relish

And rear its ugly head

As Blood spills blood

And the moon weeps

Tears that will stain her face

Sun will fade in crimson flames

And moon will follow

Engulfed by its own shadows

In a sharp blade

For one can't live without the other

Shadow will be compassionate

Two will disappear

Two will arise

Before dawn's red light arrives

The other three shuddered as Itachi kept staring at the inscription. As he reached out and touched the sphere, a sure of pain racked through his arm and he wrenched his arm back.

 

He felt his chakra being drained sufficiently and watched as the sphere turned a bloody crimson. The sound of crying grew unbearable as the sphere started to melt and a deadly calm voice said, “One cannot live without the other and so it has begun.”

 

As the now crimson colored sphere melted, two figures were seen. They were both curled up into a ball form. One had huge iridescent black bat wings covering her, while the other had large black angel wings.

 

Suddenly, the wings disappeared and the two girls collapsed onto the cold rock floor. The four missing-nin, who were completely clueless, ran over to the figures. “We should take them back to the base” muttered Deideira as he turned both girls over. Itachi's eyes widened as he saw who they were. Kaoru….Hikaru.
