[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Villagers stood in awe, staring at the sky. What was once the bluest blue had suddenly turned a sunset crimson. But it couldn't possibly be sunset yet it was still morning in Minaoni.
No one moved, No one spoke all looked to the sky. A wave of fear swept through them, what could it possibly be? Villagers jumped as a blur raced past them towards the outskirts of the village.
Built into Ame Mountain was the imperial palace of Minaoni. Gazing out one of the many windows was Tatsuma Yuki the princess and heir to the throne. Tears threatened to fall from her makeup-lined eyes. She knew what was happening, she knew who was the center of and, she knew what would happen to them.
The wind here was so strong it took all the young boy had to keep a hold of the tree he was in, but still he looked on at the whirlwind his teammate and friend was the center of. His horror showed in his black eyes, at this rate even he didn't know what would happen. He watched as the small figure in the whirlwind glowed as it was thrashed about. `Why! Why did we come here!' he thought.
`All these stupid people in my way! Urgh! I'll never reach them in time.' But still he raced on passing as a blur to the people around him. Making his way to the Amaterasu shrine his skin crawled, the immense chakra grew more and more powerful with each step that he took. `I'm already too late, forgive me Hi-Chan' he shook his head and continued forward.
On looking at her `idiotic student' she could only stand there in the shadows hoping that the power wouldn't rip the young girl's body apart. Guilt ridden and sorrow stricken she could do nothing. Once you contract yourself with a god no other person in the world could possibly help you. “Baka” she half screamed.
I can't see anything, I can't hear anything. Where am I? “ You wish to contract with me?” who's there? Why can't I speak? “Open your eyes.” This voice, who's is it? I did as I was told and opened my eyes; there in front of me was a wolf. `A silver. Giant. wolf' I corrected myself.
“ Do you wish to contract with me?” the wolf asked impatiently. “ I…I do.” I managed to choke out, my mouth felt so dry. How long have I been here?
“ Do you know the conditions of a contract with a god?” come to think of it I didn't.
“ No” if wolves can scoff I think that she would have. “ You come here to contract with a god. The sun god no less and you don't know the terms of the contract? You are an idiot.”
“ But I thought you would tell me that.” I whispered. “ Why is it you want a contract? You are much to young to need me.”
“ No, I do need you! Please contract with me!” I found I could yell, the snow-white giant wolf seemed to think for a moment. “ Tell me the reason you wish to contract with me?”
“ I…I must become stronger, but I need to become stronger in a hurry.”
“ I see, then tell me what your name is.” My emerald eyes searched the wolf's yellow ones.
“ My name is Kanbashii Hikaru, Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.”*
I bowed deeply.
“ Kanbashii?” my eye twitched as I heard her laugh. “As in something sweet?” I looked back up to her; she had changed forms, now a tall silver haired woman outlined in a silver light, stood shaking with laughter. `My name is not that funny…' I thought.
She looked at me with yellow eyes “ Kanbashii Hikaru, I Amaterasu of the sun will contract with you. The conditions of the contract are that I will reside in your body until you call out my name giving you all my power, but after you finish whatever it is your planning to do I will take your life and that will be the end of our contract. Understand?”
I nodded my head; I knew that the conditions would not be pleasant. “ You must say it Kanbashii-san.”
“ I understand and accept the terms Amaterasu-sama.” I heard a bell clinking slowly.
“Good. Then you are no longer to go by the name Kanbashii, you will be called Youkoh Sora No Hikaru.” She said holding out her porcelain hand.
“Hai.” I said as I moved closer to her. The silver outlining around her body expanded, I could feel an immense heat coming from her. I touched her hand and was overtaken by a bright light. I felt like my body was on fire. “ Under the contract we will abide.” And with her last words spoken I fainted.
The young boy opened his black eyes to see that the whirlwind had ceased. Frantically he searched for any sign of his friend, jumping from his spot in the tree. “Hikaru-Chan! Hikaru-Chan! Where are you?” He ran up the front step of the old shrine that been forbidden to the villagers. The old wooden steps creaked under his weight.
“Megumi! Hi-Chan!” the young boy turned around glad to see his other team mate Doku Aoi. “Aoi-san I'm here.” Megumi called out. The tall boy ran up to meet megumi.
Doku Aoi is a tall boy with shoulder length dark purple hair cut evenly so that it framed his face. He was about two years older than Megumi. He is widely known for his poisonous justu, and has many fan girls in the village. His pale skin and blue eyes were a favorite among the woman.
“ Did you find her Megumi-san? Is she all right? What happened?” He screamed at megumi. Megumi looked down at his black sandals his black hair falling into his face. “ I haven't seen her since she was taken by the wind.” Aoi looked around for any sign of her. “Maybe she's outside, come on lets go look.” He said placing a hand on Megumi's gray hakuma*. “Mmh.” Was all megumi had said.
Yuki ran as fast as she could in her ceremonial robe, she had tripped on it a few times and ripped it in places. Her pale face was even paler than usual, but she had to find her. `Please, please be all right.' She said to herself over and over again. She made her way through the trees to a clearing where to her relief laid Hikaru. Floating above her though was a woman dressed in a simple white kimono, with long silver hair staring at Hikaru. When the woman caught sight of her she vanished.
Yuki ran to Hikaru and fell to her knees when she reached her. “ Hi-Chan…”
Delicately she moved Hikaru's head to her knees, she smiled when she felt her breathing.
Hikaru's face looked so peaceful and childish, her cheeks tinted a light pink. Her always-messy auburn hair fell gracefully on Yuki's lap. “Hi-Chan, have you succeeded?” Hikaru sighed, causing Yuki's tears to finally fall.
“Shh! Do you hear that Aoi?” megumi lifted a finger to his mouth listening. Aoi shut his eyes and listened as well opening them soon there after “ is that crying?” he asked Megumi. “ But it doesn't sound like Hikaru.” They both nodded their heads in agreement and rushed towards the sound. Emerging from the trees their breath caught in their throats. “Yuki-Hime.” Megumi whispered. Yuki turned to both of them with a sweet smile “ she's alright, she's just sleeping I think.” Aoi placed one hand on his hip “ she made us worry for nothing. And YOU!” he pointed to a somber Megumi “ You should have told someone! She could have died.” Megumi closed his eyes and crossed his arms. “ I did baka. Just not you.” He said Walking forward to the two girls, bending down and feeling Hikaru's forehead. Aoi stomped over to the group ready to knock a nice big knot on the younger boys head. “ And just who did you tell?” asked Aoi turning a shade of red. Megumi stayed facing his friend “ sensei.” It was both and answer and an introduction. He and Yuki turned to see a tall one-armed woman smoking a long slender pipe. The woman wore a tattered white hakuma outlined in a bright red. Her pink eyes scanned the area and she ran her one hand through her blood red hair. With a stern looking face she faced the group. “ Well is the idiot dead?” she asked walking closer to them. Aoi stiffened his poster bowing slightly “ No Yumeya-sensei, she's just passed out.” Taking a long drag from her pipe she nodded. “ And her vitals Megumi?” megumi closed his eyes and placed his hand over her body, glowing a faint yellow. He opened his eyes nodding “ she's fine.” He said in relief. “Thank heaven” sighed Yuki.
I could hear voices all around me, I knew them I wanted to open my eyes but they wouldn't budge. “ Well is the idiot dead?” I absolutely knew that voice. Another voice and another. I heard a soft voice and I finally opened my eyes my emerald green meet Violet. “Yu-Chan” I said softly she smiled; her eyes were bloodshot like she had been crying. I touched her cheek “ what's wrong Yu-Chan?” I looked all around me, “Gumi, Aoi, Sensei…” then I remembered, I bounded up smiling as broadly as I could “ I did it! Amaterasu agreed! Were contracted!” I said jumping up and down. I stopped looking at them all; none of them seemed as pleased as I was. “ And what are the terms of the contract Hikaru-baka?” asked sensei. I almost lost my balance “ nothing to horrible” I said quickly. “ Lying already I see.” Eh? I looked around the clearing, none of them had said anything, but then…who? “ You are stupid...” I smacked my self. Of course! We share the same body now. “ If you're quite done acting idiotic we should inform the emperor.” I nodded my head. “ Hai!”
