Chapter 34: Training

I do apologize for the delay in getting this chapter done, I've had many things come up besides work and school… and most of my weekends have been ultra busy as well. I've received some comments about the script style I use… the hybrid script/narrative style I use for this story seems to work best for me, I'm sorry if it's hard to read for some people- certain situations are easier for me to convey one way or the other.

Kaji pulls Misato into a hug and gently caresses her hair in an attempt to get her to calm down. She slowly regains her composure and looks up at her husband to be… who has some words for her…

Kaji: (With a smile) Congratulations, it's a girl!

Misato sticks out her tongue at Kaji and decides to play along with his game. “Time for us to tell OUR daughter the good news… and introduce her to her new FATHER…”

Kaji: After you, COLONEL… (Winks)

Misato smiles and then walks into the apartment. Kaji watches her walk in and makes a comment.

Kaji: So Katsaguri, how do you feel? I'm feeling like having...

Misato: (Glancing back at her fiancee for a moment) You finish that sentence and you will not be getting any.

Kaji: (Snaps his fingers) Damn…

Misato sighs and has a seat at the kitchen table. Kaji sits down next to her, but doesn't get too close for fear of aggrevating the situation even more. He glances at Misato and then nods at Rei, who happens to be sitting next to Kensuke on the couch. Misato smiles and then Kaji calls for Rei.

Kaji: Rei, can you come here for a second?

Rei: Okay.

Rei stands up and leaves her sleeping companion. She immediately knows that something is going on… Misato is looking at her with a very emotional expression… and appears to be holding back tears…

Rei: Are you okay mom?

Misato stands up and holds out her hands… and begins to cry. Rei rushes towards her and is pulled into a tight embrace by her mother.

Misato: (Barely able to speak) Rei… I… I'm your mother…

Rei: (Confused) I know that but…

Misato: No… I mean I'm now your legal mother… those papers… say that you're my daughter…

Rei is filled with emotion as well… and it's soon too much for her to bear. She begins to cry and tightens her hold on Misato… “I... I have a mom... a... real mom...”

Kaji silently observes the tender mother-daughter moment and then realizes that now, by extention, he is Rei's father. `Here's a new challenge… raising a teenager…'

After a few minutes of bonding pass by, Kaji decides to give this parenting thing a try…

Kaji: (Nervously) Rei… don't forget about your… umm… father…

Rei looks at Misato for a moment and then notices a smile on her face. Misato nods at Kaji and Rei slowly walks over to him and gives him a hug.

Rei: F… father…

Kaji gulps and prepares himself to take a big step forward in his life.

Kaji: Rei… welcome to the family…

Rei: (Softly) Thank you…

Over on the couch, Kensuke rubs his eyes. “What's going on?” He says as he notices that Rei is hugging Kaji.

Rei: Ken-kun… you are awake…

Misato: Rei… why don't you introduce your boyfriend to his future in-laws… (Chuckles)

Kensuke: (Confused) In-laws?

Rei: (Releases her hug and then nods her head) Yes… Misato is now my legal mother… and Kaji is my… father…

Kensuke: (Nervously) Umm… yeah… Misato as a mother in law? Umm… yea…

Kensuke is silent for a moment after making that comment. `Damn… I used to really want Misato… and now I'm really in love with Rei… man... I guess Shinji was right... we're so messed up.'

Kensuke then grins to himself, and thinks: `Though if I have to be messed up to be with Rei, thats a small price to pay.'

Misato: (Wagging a finger at the spaced out Kensuke to tease him) Well, if you have a problem with that, you'd better stay out of our daughters' room…

Rei and Kaji chuckle at the otaku's predicament.

Kaji: (Using some of his new “Fatherly” powers) What are your intentions with my daughter? Are you going to be committed to being with Rei? If not, then you two should stop playing around at night…

Rei blushes and Misato looks at Kaji intently, seeing that his “Fatherly” side is already manifesting itself.

Kensuke blushes for a moment but then regains his composure.

Kensuke: Well… it seems that you two do a lot more than playing around and you're not married yet…

Misato: (With a slight blush on her face) That may be true… but we're adults and we've known each other for a long time… after Kaji returned from the dead… I knew he was the one for me…

Rei: (Bluntly) But mom… you and dad are trying to get Kensuke and I to do something you do not practice because you are older...

Misato: (Recalling a similar comment by Asuka to the same effect recently) Well, umm… Rei…

Kensuke: (Clears his throat) (Sweats while he speaks his next words) R-Rei here… she's special to me and umm…

Rei cuts off Kensuke's words by pulling him into an intimate embrace. `He said that I was special… that makes me feel warm inside…' Rei thinks as Kensuke blushes and holds onto her tightly.

Kaji, observing what just happened, decides to make a suggestion to the couple.

Kaji: Why don't we take a break and get a late night snack? (Winks) Misato already knows what restaurant is down there…

Misato: (Puts her hand on her forehead) (To herself) Will the Colonel jokes ever end? (Sighs)

Rei: (Curious) What restaurant is that?

Kaji: Oh just some American fried chicken place…

Kensuke: (Surprised) Really? How in the world did we get one of those here?

Misato: Apparently everyone was getting tired of the cafeteria food… so they had a vote and decided on getting some fast food in here… which works out pretty well, considering how little break time we get during a shift…

Kensuke: Sounds good…

Misato: (Hears her stomach grumble) I'm getting hungry… are you guys ready to go?

Rei: (Nods her head) Yes… but what about the others?

Misato: We'll bring back some chicken for them… I'm sure they're sleeping already…

Misato leans over in the direction of the bedroom area and listens for a moment… and hears nothing at all. After doing that, the four head out of the apartment. The two guards that are assigned to watch the apartment escort the group over to the cafeteria, where they find Maya and Aoba talking at one of the tables…

Aoba: I know… but still…

Maya: Let's talk about this later… there's the Major and Kaji…

Aoba: Okay… (Motions Misato and Kaji over to their table) Over here!

Misato: (Looks at Rei) Why don't you and Kensuke order some food and we'll be over there in a few minutes…

Rei: Okay, mom… (Takes Kensuke's hand and looks at him) Will you show me what to order? I have never had this kind of food before…

Kensuke: Well… let's take a look at the menu and see what they got…

As Kensuke figures out what to order for Rei and himself, Misato and Kaji sit down next to Aoba and Maya. Kaji puts an arm around Misato and smiles…

Kaji: Why don't you tell them the good news dear?

Maya: (Curious) Good news? What happened Major?

Misato: (Waves her hand) Maya, I told you, just call me “Misato”. Well… two things actually… though it happened so fast… I'm still not sure it's real…

Kaji: (Places a kiss on Misato's cheek) Yes, it is… go ahead and tell them…

Aoba: (Getting more curious by the minute) Tell us…

Misato: I… I have a new daughter… (Pauses for a moment) Rei is now my daughter…

Maya and Aoba look at each other and then back at Misato. “Really?” Is Maya's response a moment later. Aoba wonders how she did that… given Rei's past realationship with Commander Ikari.

Aoba: Isn't Commander Ikari her guardian?

Kaji: (With a chuckle) Misato here layed down the law… and took no prisoners…

Misato elbows Kaji and then clears her throat. “Well, nothing that serious… but I did have to really “Talk” to the Commander… and the results were worth it. Rei deserves a real mother…”

Misato pauses to elbow Kaji again. “And a father…”

Aoba: Wow… you got Commander Ikari to change his mind? I'm impressed…

Maya: I'm sure it wasn't easy…

Misato: It wasn't… he threatened to demote me… but I didn't… I couldn't back down… Rei deserves better…

Maya: Yeah… and I think you'll make a great mother…

Misato: Thank you.

Aoba: (Nods his head) Yeah… and it looks like your daughter is already dating… (Chuckles)

Kaji looks over his shoulder. “Yep… though Kensuke seems to be doing a good job in getting her to open up, to be more human… Rei has really changed in the last few months…”

Maya and Aoba nod their heads, knowing that what Kaji said is definately true.

Aoba: (Remembering that there was another bit of good news) Oh… by the way, what was the second thing?

Misato just grins and points at the insignia on her top.

Maya: What rank is that?

Aoba: (Gets a good look at the insignia) Wow…

Kaji: Why else would you go to the colonel? Unless you wanted a tasty leg... or maybe a thigh.. or possibly a ..."

He was interrupted by a elbow to the ribs from a slightly miffed Colonel.

Maya couldn't help but blush at the comments... especially since she could see Kensuke and Rei picking out certain pieces at the counter.

Aboa couldn't help but let his mind wander a bit, though he did grin.

Aoba: Something big's about to happen…

Misato: Why do you say that?

Aoba: Well… you got the Commander to give up Rei… and he promoted you as well. I think the world is coming to end… (Chuckles)

Maya elbows Aoba for that comment. “That's not funny… Misato earned that promotion…”

Kaji: Of course… dealing with six teenagers day in and day out plus working here… she earned it.

Misato smiles and leans her body against Kaji.

Kaji: So Aoba... are you a leg man... or do you go straight for the breast?

Maya almost chokes on her own tongue while Aoba just stares at Kaji while his mind tries not to think about a certain someone in that way.

Misato: (Elbows her fiancee) Don't mind him… he seems to have chicken on the brain…

Over at a nearby table, Rei is sampling her first “fast food”…

Kensuke: What do you think of the food?

Rei: It is… different then anything I have ever tasted. These sides items are tasty…

Kensuke: I got you a little of everything… mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw… a biscuit.

Rei picks up a chicken leg and tries to figure out how to eat it. Kensuke, remembering that she hasn't eaten chicken before, demonstrates how to eat a “drumstick”…

Kensuke: That's a good piece of chicken, but my favorite piece is the breast, you gotta try it. The meat is jucy and tender... and...

Kensuke looks at the other table and then back at Rei.

Kensuke: Rei, why is Misato trying to strangle Kaji?

Rei: I don't know, though it seems the others have taken a sudden fever.

Kensuke: (Noticing that as well) Yeah, they're pretty red.

Rei: (Looking at the side of one of the containers) Why do all of the containers have a picture of an older gentleman on them?

Kensuke: (Chuckles) It's a picture of the founder of the company… I think his name was Colonel Sanders…

Rei: I see… Colonel… Kaji… (Pauses for a moment and changes her mind) Dad… has mentioned this rank many times today… (To herself) I have a father… a real father… not a guardian…

Kensuke notices Rei has gone silent and is happy about something. `She looks so cute when she smiles…'

Rei: (Noticing that Kensuke is starting at her) Ken-kun… I know we have a difficult schedule ahead of us… but I wish to spend more time with you… and I would like to see some more of your anime collection…

Kensuke: Um, yeah… we should ask Misato if we can get a computer… so we can download movies and songs… I know your brother loves playing music for Asuka…

Rei: Yes… and I would like to listen to some music as well…

Kensuke: (Smiles because he knows that he'll get to dance with Rei) That sounds good… and starting tomorrow, I get to show you a few pointers…

Rei: (Smiles back) I look forward to it.

Rei and Kensuke finish their meal and then walk over to the table where Misato is sitting with her arms crossed. Deciding to call it a night, Misato stands up and takes her leave with Kaji in tow, who continually rubs his neck. Before leaving the cafeteria, Kaji orders some chicken and side items to take back to the apartment…

A little while later, the group arrives back at the apartment. Misato opens the door and is surprised that the lights are off…

Misato: Something is going on here…

Kaji: I thought we left the lights on…

Suddenly, the lights come on… startling the four.

Asuka: Surprise!

Misato: (Looks around the room and notices the desserts on the table) What's all of this for?

Asuka: Your promotion and being a new mother, of course… Shin-chan and I made the cupcakes… and Toji and Hikari baked a cake.

Misato: The food looks wonderful…

Shinji: Thanks…

Hikari: Go ahead everybody, sit down and eat…

Toji: I see yah brought back some food for us, too… that smells really good…

Kaji puts the chicken down on the table. “Why don't we all take a break and have a late night snack… with the Colonel, of course…” Kaji cannot help but snicker at that last comment… and Kensuke and Toji try and stifle their responses as well… but fail.

Misato: Geez… (Touches her forehead) Now you got the others laughing at me…

Rei: Mom…

Kensuke: Come on Rei, let's eat some dessert…

Everyone sits down at the table and eats some of the near buffet level of food that is on the table. Congratulations are given all around to both Kaji and Misato… and there are some comments for Rei as well…

Asuka: Rei, are you sure you want to do this?

Rei: What do you mean, Asuka?

Asuka: Well… for one thing, being Misato's daughter means that you have to be a really big flirt… and I don't think Kensuke here can handle that…

Kensuke: Hey!

Misato chuckles and Kaji just sighs. Hikari decides to speak up in Misato's favor.

Hikari: I think Misato has done a wondeful job… she's had to deal with all of us for a long time here…

Misato: Why thank you, Hikari… I agree… I still gotta keep an eye on you guys, though… things can happen when you're sleeping with a “Signifigant other”…

Asuka: (Sarcastically) Have you seen our new schedule? Honestly, we're not gonna have the energy to do anything like THAT… we'll be lucky to get a good nights sleep…

Rei: (Nods her head) Asuka has a point… the schedule does seem to be very intensive…

Misato: But…

Kaji: (Whispers to Misato) Let's get some rest… all of us have a long day tomorrow…

Misato nods her head and tells the kids that she's going to bed. Kaji picks up the dishes and puts them in the dishwasher while Asuka and Hikari clean off the kitchen table. Toji and Kensuke help Shinji gather the leftovers and put them in the refrigerator.

After the clean up is done, Kaji and Misato head over to their bedroom. Misato takes off her jacket and begins to undress with the intention of putting on her nightgown. Kaji cannot resist making another comment…

Kaji: (Looking over at the half-dressed Misato) Looks like I get the full meal deal tonight…

Misato: (Sighs) Enough with the jokes… or you're not going to be having any fun tonight… (Drops her skirt down on the ground)

Kaji: Last one, I promise… (Walks up to Misato) Two wings… (Gently runs his hand over her bare arm, causing her to react to his touch)

Misato: (Pulling Kaji into a hug) So now I'm a chicken…

Kaji: (Ignores her comment) Two legs… (Carresses the upper part of her legs with his hands, causing Misato to moan)

Misato: (Softly) Mmm… so what other parts do you like?

Kaji: Your wonderful thighs… and of course, your breasts…

Before Kaji can move his hands up to his new target, Misato grabs his arms tightly.

Misato: The jokes stop now, okay? I know we've both been under a lot of stress lately…

Kaji: I'm sorry… I did go a little overboard. (Kisses Misato on the cheek and she lets him go) How about I just tell you what a pleasure it's been serving under you, Colonel Katsuragi…

Misato: You haven't served under me… wait a second… (Smiles) Talking dirty again?

Kaji: (With a broad smile) I know you love it when I do that… and I can tell that you want a little “healing” tonight…

Misato: Mmm… (Starts humming the song that Kaji is referencing) I can't wait for you to… operate… (Pushes him down on the bed) Now you're in place… to serve under me… (Giggles)

Kaji: (Motions Misato to join him on the bed) Ready for duty…

Misato: Your mission, should you choose to accept it…

Kaji: (Interrupts) Believe me, I will…

Misato: (Clears her throat) Your mission is to please both of us tonight…

Kaji smiles and then looks up at Misato and their eyes meet. `She's so beautiful… and there's no one else that makes me feel this way…'

Misato slowly stoops down, deliberately teasing Kaji before crawling on top of him. He pulls her down to his chest and gently rubs her back. `He's such a goofball… but he's my goofball… and not even death stopped our love…' Misato reflects on that as Kaji gently squeezes her behind…

Kaji: Ready?

Misato: (Softly moans) I'm always ready…

After the clean up is finished, the other couples head off to bed… though none of them go to sleep right away. The next day's events weigh heavily on their mind…

After helping Toji take off his shirt, Hikari snuggles against his chest and feels his arms wrap around her body.

Toji: (Concerned) Are you okay, Hikari? Yah looked kinda worried earlier, you know, when we were makin' dat cake…

Hikari: (Softly) Well… I'm worried about this new schdeule… you didn't like piloting before and …

Toji: (Gently rubs Hikari's back and enjoys the feeling of her new pink pajamas on his skin) I'll be fine… I got the other guys to help me out and of course… my f-fiancee…

Hikari: (Blushes) I know… but still… you're going against those SEELE people… and they've aleady tried to kill us…

Toji: As long as I'm around, no one is gonna hurt my Hikari…

Hikari: (Looks up at Toji) Toji… (Puts her hand on his chest and gently moves it across it) Umm… what if they wanted me to pilot?

Toji: (Smiles) Let's see… if they let you pilot… I'd bet you'd want a pink EVA and if someone harrassed you… you'd squash them like a bug…

Hikari: (Shakes her head) Toji, you shouldn't joke like that…

Toji: No one could stop the class Rep… and if you're tardy… BAM! There goes your house…

Hikari: (Angrily punches Toji) I don't see myself like that… and you should know better then to joke around like that around me.

Toji: Oww! Hey I'm sorry!

Hikari: You'd be better be! I'm not that kind of woman!

Toji: Yah know… (Smiles)… you're right. I know you're better then dat… (Pauses) Sorry if my joke went too far…

Hikari: (Deliberates what to say next in her mind before responding) Well… (Smiles) What are you going to do to apologize?

Toji stops for a moment and thinks about what she just said. `She's been rubbing her hand across my chest… she must be excited or somethin'… I think I know how I can make it up to her…' He looks at her new pink pajamas, the soft, silky fabric is different then anything he's seen her in before. `She looks cute…'

Hikari realizes that's he's decided on a way to apologize… when his hands glide down his back and onto her behind. `That's one way to apologize… and I like it…'

Hikari: (Softly) Toji…

Toji: (Leans in for a kiss) How about that?

Hikari: It's a start… (Giggles)

`She's so cute when she does that…' Toji thinks as he moves on to his next target- her neck. Hikari softly moans as Toji tenderly places kisses up and down her neck. His hands, which had been idlely resting on her behind, begin to squeeze… causing her to moan even more…

While Toji is busy “apologizing” to Hikari, next door another couple is having a talk while sitting on the bed.

Rei: That is true… but… (Yawns and stretches her arms towards the ceiling)

Kensuke watches Rei as she stretches… and he blushes. Rei notices where he was just looking and has an idea…

Kensuke: Looks like you're ummm… getting tired.

Rei: Yes… I would like to get ready for bed. (Walks over to the nearby clothes drawer and pulls out her new blue pajamas) I will change behind the new privacy screen…

Kensuke nods his head and walks over to his clothes drawer and gets out some pajamas. Rei walks behind the privacy screen and begins to undress…

Thirty seconds later, Kensuke hears Rei's voice…

Rei: Are you dressed, Ken-kun?

Kensuke: Yeah, I'm ready for bed…

Rei: I will be done in a minute… (To herself) Time to put my plan into action…

Kensuke patiently waits for Rei, his eyes watching the screen in anticipation of seeing Rei's new pajamas. His eyes sudden grow in size as he sees Rei's bra hanging over the side of the screen. `She was wearing THAT under her shirt? Damn that's sexy…'

Behind the screen, Rei cannot help but giggle softly. `I hope Ken-kun does not pass out…'

Rei: (Talking as she buttons up her new pajama top) Almost done…

Kensuke silently moves over to the other end of the bed, in an effort to get a better look at Rei's bra. Rei peeks her head out from behind the screen and notices what he's doing. `Ken-kun seems to like my new intimate apparel…'

Rei: (Stepping out from behind the screen) Kensuke…

Kensuke: (Diverts his gaze over to Rei almost instantly) R-rei… you look… (Gazes at her new pajamas) Beautiful…

Rei: (Blushes slightly) Thank you… (Sits down on the bed next to Kensuke)

Kensuke: (Glances over at the bra again and then at Rei) Should I call you Rei Katsuragi? You're definitely acting like your mother… teasing me like that.

Rei: (Smiles) Perhaps… but I find it interesting that you called me by mom's last name…

Kensuke: Well, maybe you should call yourself that… I mean… you told me about Commander Ikari and how he treated you… and now you're Misato's daughter… (Chuckles) I'd bet that'd really piss him off…

Rei: (Ponders that thought for a moment) I… I… I will think about it.

Kensuke feels Rei's hand gently slip into his. He takes and gently carresses her hands while she begins to talk about some of the things that have been on her mind recently.

Rei: Thank you, Ken-kun… for being with me… this is a… very emotional time for me…

Kensuke: Sure, Rei… I know that all of this is still pretty new for you…

Rei: (Softly) It is more then that… before all of the other clones were destroyed by Dr. Akagi… I was just one of many… I had no real reason for living… and I was to be Commander Ikari's pawn. I was able to be replaced at any time… and that's a terrible feeling… death did not matter… (Squeezes Kensuke's hand and looks him in the eye) I am glad that my brother brought the world back… there is so much out there that I have not experienced…

Kensuke: We all owe Shinji… big time. That's why I'm here… and that's why we gotta stop SEELE… everyone else needs a chance to live their own lives… those guys have already tried to kill us… we need to stop them.

Rei: I agree… that is why we have this mission… and tomorrow we begin our training.

Rei takes off her new glasses and stands up. Kensuke takes off his glasses and passes them to Rei, who puts both pair of glasses on the nightstand.

Kensuke: I guess you're ready to go to sleep…

Rei smiles and reaches for the light switch. “Not yet…”

Kensuke's eyebrows go up as the lights go out. `I wonder what she's up to…'

Rei sits down on the bed and calls out to Kensuke. “I would like to spend some quality time with you before we go to sleep… I would like to express my emotions and feminine desires…”

Kensuke: (To himself) It's been a few days since we've really done anything… (Nervously) So you ummm… would like to umm…

Rei: It has been a while since we have been able to, as Asuka says, make out.

Kensuke slowly sits down on the bed and takes a few deep breaths. He feels Rei's hands on his shoulders a moment later… and soon the rest of her body is pressing against his back, causing the otaku to turn very red in the face.

Kensuke: I've noticed that umm… you've gotten a lot more expressive of your umm… desires since we learned about your… age acceleration…

Rei: (Softly whispers in Kensuke's ear, imitating one of Misato's moves that she had observed before) Yes… I have… stronger feelings towards you…

Kensuke: I'm not saying it's a bad thing… but you're so different now from the girl that joined our class a few years ago… and I like the new Rei a lot.

Before Rei can respond back, Kensuke quickly adds a few more thoughts…

Kensuke: It's not that I didn't like the old Rei... I mean… I never thought you'd see anything in me… the military geek…

Rei whispers two words into Kensuke's ear. “Turn around” Kensuke slowly does so… and finds himself pulled down on top of Rei's body, her lips pressed against his in a passionate exchange of love and desire…

Kensuke feels her hands on his back, gently moving around in circles as they continue to kiss. He decides to let his idle hands get to “work”… `Rei wants me… and I want her… I know I can make her feel good…'

Rei is surprised to feel Kensuke's hands caressing her neck and her cheek. `He has not done this before… but it feels good…'

“Ken-kun…”

“Yes, Rei-chan?” Kensuke says as he stops for a moment.

“Please do that some more…” Rei says, refering to the way Kensuke was tenderly touching her body just a moment ago.

`She likes that! I was hoping that she would…' Kensuke thinks as he gently caresses her cheek.

Rei closes her eyes and gently runs her fingers through Kensuke's hair as he continues to touch her cheeks, hair, and neck… gently carressing them while deep in thought.

`I've always wanted to do something like this… Rei has really changed and she's become a wonderful person. She's not cold and uncaring… she's warm hearted and has a very unique sense of humor. She's got such warm skin…'

A little while later, Rei becomes so comfortable that she falls asleep. Kensuke gently places a kiss on her cheek and then goes to sleep himself, happy about how his relationship with Rei is growing and getting deeper. He's helping Rei to bring out a new side of her persona… and she's helping him to open up as well.

The last couple to go to sleep is Shinji and Asuka. After eating the late night snack earlier in the evening, they spend some time talking and flirting with the other while sitting in bed. The main topics of conversastion are the fight with SEELE and the battle simulations that begin in the morning…

Asuka: (Rubbing her fingers against the top button of her new pajamas) It looks like I'll have to set the pace with this new round of battle sims, right, Shin-chan?

Shinji: Of course… (Pauses for a moment)… but I'll be right behind you…

Asuka: (Winks) I think you prefer to be right in front of me… (Giggles)

Shinji: (Blushes) Asuka… you're getting naughty already… (Stares at her pajamas)… and you haven't even shown me anything yet…

Asuka: (Turns red for a moment) Mmm… I guess you're feeling a little bold tonight… and I like it …

Shinji: And I like it when you're frisky…

Asuka leans in for a kiss and as their lips meet Shinji pulls her into an intimate embrace. After a little kissing, Shinji stops and looks intently at Asuka. `I wonder what he's thinking…' Is the thought passing through Asuka's mind as she smiles at Shinji.

Shinji: Asuka… are you ready for tomorrow?

Asuka: (Matter of factly) Of course… (Gently runs one of her fingers down the front of his shirt) You and I are going to own those battle sims… the rest of the program will be easy…

Shinji: Even the weapons part?

Asuka: Well… we've practiced shooting with our EVA's… so at least we know how to target… (Pauses) I've never shot a real gun before…

Shinji: I… (Cringes at the memory of Misato getting shot)… I've seen those in action… and I didn't like what I saw…

Asuka: (Softly) Yeah… but we need to know how to defend ourselves… in case we aren't in the EVA… who knows when SEELE will try and get us again…

Shinji whispers the word “Asuka” before pulling her into another hug. Asuka feels his hands gently rubbing her back. `I don't want to lose her… or anyone else… we need to stop those people… no matter what…'

Asuka knows that Shinji is feeling nervous and imitates what he's doing to her… both teens try to relax…

Asuka: (In a reassuring tone of voice) Shin-chan… don't worry. We'll be fine…

Shinji: I know… but I can't help but worry about what's gonna happen to us… who knows how strong SEELE really is?

Asuka: That's what Kaji and Misato are trying to find out…

Shinji: (Sighs) I guess you're right…

Shinji gently pulls back and looks at the love of his life. As her hands continue to rub against his back he feels the ring on one of her fingers… the promise ring that he got her almost a month ago. `There's only one woman that'd I wanna be with… and it's Asuka. She's so strong… she has that iron will… and she never gives up…'

Asuka notices that Shinji is in deep thought… staring at her with a smile on his face. Asuka moves one of her arms and brings it forward before gently caressing Shinji on the cheek.

Asuka: Shin-chan… I love you.

Shinji: I love you too…

Asuka pulls Shinji closer and gently places a few kisses on his neck. Shinji blushes… due to the fact that this was the first time she has kissed him there. He moves his neck a little, allowing Asuka to have easier access…

`Looks like my Shin-chan likes being kissed there… I told him that we'd have some fun tonight…'

Shinji decides to try something of his own as Asuka expresses her affection for him. Asuka feels his hands move down her back… and onto her behind. Shinji can hear Asuka moan softly as he tenderly squeezes her behind. `She wanted tonight to be special… so I'll try and be bold for both of us…'

Asuka feels Shinji's hands move up a little onto the waistband of her pajamas. `What's he up to?' Asuka thinks as she repositions herself to kiss Shinji on the lips. Shinji waits until Asuka's lips meet his before trying something new…

Shinji's fingers duck under the waistband of her pajamas and gently run across the top of her panties. `They're soft… just like her skin…'

Asuka, liking his boldness, begins to press her whole body against his. `I don't know what it is… but he's getting bold really quickly…'

After a few moments of exploration, Shinji moves his fingers back onto her shirt and gently tugs down on it…

Asuka: (Pulls away from Shinji) Silly… you have to unbutton my shirt to get it off… you can't do it that way…

Shinji: I was just trying to get your attention… and to get a look at your new pajamas. (Notices a large VS embroidered on the pink fabric, just above Asuka's heart) V-S?

Asuka: Victoria's Secret…

Shinji: It should be A-S…

Asuka: Oh… (Blushes) So you want to see MY secrets? I felt you checking out my new panties a moment ago…

Shinji: (Takes a deep breath before speaking) I… I only want to see your secrets… Asuka's secrets…

Asuka: That's fine… (Starts to unbutton Shinji's shirt) As long as you let me see some of your body too…

Shinji watches as Asuka unbuttons his shirt, he can see the passion and desire in her eyes as she removes his shirt and throws it off to the side. She gently pushes him down on the bed and starts to run her hands across his chest…

Asuka: You're handsome, Shin-chan…

Shinji: And you're the most beautiful woman in the world… (Starts to unbutton her top)

After Shinji finishes unfastening the buttons, he gently removes the garment from Asuka and drops it off the side of the bed.

Shinji: (Staring at her lacy pink bra) Pink… is that your new favorite color?

Asuka: (Smiles) Hmm… judging by the way you're staring… it's your new favorite color to see me in…

Shinji: You look very…

Asuka: (Finishes his sentence) Sexy?

Shinji: All the time…

Asuka: (Giggles) Shinji… (Pauses) You're saying I'm irresistable?

Shinji: (Pulls her into a hug) Yes…

Asuka relaxes into Shinji's arms and allows him to carress her hair, neck, and back. As she falls asleep, she thinks about how bold Shinji is becoming with her… and how excited that makes her feel inside.

Shinji looks down at his now sleeping “angel” and gently places a kiss on her forehead. `Good night Asuka… and thank you… I don't know where'd I be without you…'

As the pilots and thier guardians sleep, two shadowed figures meet in a darkened room with a computer screen on it.

Computerized voice: Report.

Shadowed man: I am not sure how, but Ikari duped us. He made up some fake orders to move the children and then a secret message later to move them a second time. However it seems both were a ruse.

Computerized Voice: I see.

Second man: Also, somehow both the Ibuki girl and Major Katsuguri were warned of our plans. The Ibuki girl evaded the truck and the Major moved to the back of the store when the truck hit. Both survived…

Computerized Voice: You have both failed.

Both men: Sorry sir.

Voice: It is no matter, allow them this time to think they are safe. Wait for further orders, but make no mistake. If you fail, the consequences will be harsh.

Both: Y-yes sir!

As the connection failed and the two men ran back to thier posts, a lone figure also clicked off her monitor.

Voice: So... they have a backup plan...

The feminine voice then paused for a few moments to pet a cat that had made itself comfortable in her lap.

Feminine voice: Well, two can play at this game.
