A Soliloquy of Life: Chapter 6- Planning, Party, and Wedding

 

 

“Asuka it's time to get up for school” Misato said trying to rouse Asuka out of bed.

“I'm not going” Asuka said defiantly as she turned away from Misato.

“And why not?” Misato said turning her back.

“I don't want to.” Asuka shot back.

Rei was listening to this conversation from the living room and added her two cents “Asuka doesn't want to go to school today because Shinji isn't here and can't walk her to it.”

Misato was losing her patience and told her “That's not a good enough reason Asuka.”

“It's good enough for me” she pouted as she tried to turn back away and grabbed the covers.

Misato had enough of this and grabbed her by her arm and pulled her out of bed while saying “You have done nothing but mope around the apartment all weekend. A change of scenery will do you good.”

Asuka let out a whiney “Noooooo” as she realized her strategy wasn't going to work. She reluctantly got up and headed for the bathroom but not before complaining “Why did Shinji have to go to that stupid UN meeting with Kaji anyway?”

Misato explained for the fifth time “Because they requested to talk to a pilot and Rei had a date this weekend. We can't use Touji because he has threatened to use a bat on anyone who even mentions him and Eva pilot together in the same sentence. And you young lady have been banned ever since you beat up that military guy who suggested the Eva project be looked at again. So the only one left was Shinji.”

“The guy deserved it” Asuka grumbled.

“I know he did, but did you have to break both his legs?” Misato said in a humorous tone.

“YES” Asuka screamed loudly and slammed the bathroom door.

 

Asuka had to settle for walking to school with Rei and Kensuke who repeatedly had to tell her to hurry up as she just trudged along. They even had to drag her a little ways as she twice attempted to turn back and go home. Once at school she silently went to her seat and put her head down on her desk thinking if she fell asleep the day would be over quicker. Hikari started a chat soon after class had started.

 

Shinman = Shinji; Allstar = Touji; MilitaryIntel = Kensuke; RedQueen = Asuka; ClassRep = Hikari; and Ice = Rei.

 

ClassRep: Has she been like that all weekend?

Ice: Yes. All she's done is sleep in, mope around complaining, and then go to bed early.

ClassRep: I hope Shinji gets back soon.

Ice: He gets back later tonight.

Allstar: Good. She's not much fun to argue with like that.

MilitaryIntel: You think that's bad you should have tried dragging her to school.

Allstar: How could that be hard? She's pretty light.

MilitaryIntel: She bites.

Ice: I warned you.

MilitaryIntel: I didn't think she would actually do it.

ClassRep: Ouch, you okay?

MilitaryIntel: Yeah, she didn't bite too hard.

Ice: Imagine how hard she would have bite if you weren't her friend.

MilitaryIntel: I'd rather not.

Allstar: You're still probably going to need to get a tetanus shot.

A couple seconds go by without a response.

Allstar: It's just not the same.

ClassRep: Poor Touji.

MilitaryIntel: Even I missed our daily morning insult contest.

Ice: But you guys always lose.

Allstar: We do not.

MilitaryIntel: Yes we do Touji, but it's still fun.

ClassRep: Do you think if we took her shopping after class she would cheer up?

Ice: Misato already tried that, but she turned her down.

Allstar: Asuka said no to shopping??????

MilitaryIntel: No way.

Ice: It's true.

ClassRep: So what are we going to do?

Ice: Nothing.

ClassRep: We should at least try and get her outside for lunch so she can get some fresh air.

Ice: I suppose we can try, but watch out.

 

At lunch Hikari and Rei tried to convince Asuka to come outside for lunch nicely, but ended up having to drag her out.

Outside Kensuke said “She's quick isn't she?”

Hikari answered while rubbing her arm a little “I didn't even see it coming.”

Touji then jumped in and said “Fine if you two can't handle it, I'll drag her in from lunch”

“Good” Kensuke and Hikari said together.

Asuka wasn't paying attention to any of this as she was just nibbling on her sandwich. After a few bites she said “Shinji's are better.”

Rei responded “It's just ham, cheese, and bread how can his be better.”

“They just are” Asuka said as she put down the sandwich and searched for one of the cookies Shinji had made the Friday before and ate that happily. Rei just shook her head in wonderment as the sandwich she made didn't taste any different from the ones Shinji made, they were only ham, cheese, and bread how could they be any different. Asuka was just too weird sometimes. That and she was a thief as she stole her cookies too.

When they finished lunch Touji and Rei dragged Asuka back into the classroom before the bell. But not without Touji yelling “Ouch” twice.

Once in the classroom Asuka went straight to her desk and put her head back down.

Hikari said with a laugh directed at Touji “She must be feeling a little better, she bit you twice.”

Touji said while rubbing his arm “Why did I have to get bit twice? Rei never even got bit once.”

“That's because I bite back” Rei answered and then smiled at Kensuke “Isn't that right Kensuke?” Kensuke blushed and looked away to hide a big smile. The bell then rang and the other students started coming in from lunch.

Once school was over it was a totally different story, Asuka took off for home as she knew Shinji would be back soon.

 

Asuka was in her room when she heard the door open. She leaped up and threw her door open, but before she could even get out of her room Shinji had picked her up and was starting to kiss her.

Misato greeted Kaji with a kiss as well but then asked him “Why is there a bandage on Shinji's head?”

Kaji replied “We went to a baseball game on Saturday and one of the players hit a foul ball right to Shinji. But just as Shinji caught it, some idiot from three rows back leaped for it and smacked him in the head. Don't worry though, I had Johnson escort the idiot out of the stadium and explain to him his mistake.”

“Good” Misato said and added “Did he get the baseball?”

“Yeah, but he gave it to a little kid that was sitting by us.” Kaji replied.

“Typical Shinji, so did anything happen at the meeting?” Misato asked.

Kaji answered “Mostly Shinji just moped around and slept while the UN people talked in circles. But there was one outburst.”

“Oh No, not again.” Misato said with Kaji adding “Yup some stupid military guy suggested looking into the Eva project again and Shinji dropped him with a haymaker. He's now banned for misconduct as well.” Kaji then smiled “It was a good punch though, that boy is definitely learning.”

“So now Rei's the only one left” Misato laughed and added “and she'll probably do the same thing as Asuka.”

Kaji laughed back “I hope so.” Kaji then stopped laughing and said “Uh Misato… there playing the `where else does it hurt' game and Asuka already down to his belly button.” Misato ran over and broke the two up before the game got any further, while Asuka complained she was just rewarding him for being so nice and giving the little kid the baseball. Misato didn't believe her for a second and kept the two separated.

 

After dinner Kaji sat down with Rei, who was watching a football game she had recorded earlier along with PenPen. “So how did your weekend go?” he asked her.

Rei answered “Went out on a date with Kensuke on Saturday, got yelled at for being out too late, kissing, and our hands being too low. He came over and we watched TV on Sunday, got a lecture from Misato about our date, and he stayed over for dinner. So except for Asuka's moping, pretty much the normal.”

“Good.” He said and all three of them to watch the game together while Misato kept a close eye on Shinji and Asuka to make sure her rewards didn't get to out of hand while they sat together in the reclining chair.

 

----Break----

 

One and a half months later Misato, Maya, and a little different Ritsuko were having a girl's lunch. “So Misato” Maya asked “When are you going to find out if your baby is a boy or a girl?”

She answered “I wont know till it's born.”

Ritsuko said “So you're going to make us all wait in suspense?”

“Yup” she answered and then added with a soft smile “I just like the idea of a pleasant surprise.”

“That kind of surprise is something I wouldn't mind looking forward to soon” Maya said as she looked at the sparkle of her engagement ring.

Ritsuko spoke up as well and said “That doesn't sound too bad to me anymore.” This caused the other two women's jaws to drop to the floor.

“But..I..I thought” Maya started to stutter while Misato stared wide-eyed at Ritsuko.

Ritsuko explained to them that during her month off she did a lot of soul searching and decided that she got too wrapped up in Ritsuko the scientist and Ritsuko the women. She was worried she had turned completely into her mother and as she thought about her encounter with Rei, it proved that to her. But unlike her mother she decided not to run away from all her problems but to try to correct them and change. And while doing that she began to think maybe there was room in her life for Ritsuko the mother. Both Misato and Maya were pleasantly surprise by this because they both had been worried about her.

Misato, now recovered from her shock, went on the offensive “You know Ritsuko in order to have a kid you usually need another component.” Ritsuko blushed deeply and looked down with a little grin on her face.

Maya's eyes lit up and she too went on the attack “Do you have a boyfriend Ritsuko?” she asked.

Ritsuko responded sheepishly “Well…” but trailed off.

The other two women shouted “Spill It” in unison.

Ritsuko gave in and explained “About 4 weeks ago, while I was thinking, I decided to walk around Tokyo-3 University and bumped into an old friend from college.” Ritsuko looked up and saw she had the other two women's full and absolute attention so she continued “I found out he is now a dean at T3U and we sort of got to talking about this and that and one thing led to another. We have been dating for just under 3 weeks now.”

Misato jumped in “So are you two hot and heavy yet?” with Maya adding “That is sometimes the only way to get their attention.”

Ritsuko started blushing again but said “I think I want to take it slow in the beginning and then we will see what happens.” She then changed the subject to why they had all gone out in the first place. “So Maya what are the plans for your wedding next month?”

Maya fell for the ploy hook line and sinker as she happily went into great detail about everything she planned.

 

In a surprisingly short amount of time Maya had pretty much everything planned. It was almost like this was something she had planned out for longer than she had been even dating Makoto. She did have one question though, she was a little worried about the children's and especially Rei's reaction to Ritsuko being there. Ritsuko though explained to her that when she got back the first thing she did was sit down with Asuka and Shinji and apologized to them and after a long talk they accepted her apology. To Rei she had written a letter of apology first that asked her if she could apologize to her in person as she was worried that a direct confrontation right away wouldn't be the best thing. Rei, after some prodding by Misato, eventually accepted the meeting and Ritsuko apologized to her and thanked her for slapping some much needed sense into her. And after a very long talk Rei accepted the apology but said she would be watching her and would not be hesitant about pointing out any times she started acting like her old self. Ritsuko thanked her for this as well and also for giving her a second chance.

 

With that problem out of the way Misato questioned “So what kind of bachelorette party are we having?” That was when the fun part of their lunch really started and it was actually Ritsuko who mentioned a stripper. And much to the other two women's surprise it was actually Misato who nixed the idea. But Misato explained that since the girls were going to be there she didn't want them getting any ideas in their heads, and the other two thought about this for a second and agreed. Misato was having enough problems controlling Asuka and Rei. The last thing she needed for them to see was a stripper who might just make them wonder what their boyfriends would look like doing that kind of thing in front of them. It was finally decided that the party would be at Misato's place on the same night as the boy's bachelor party, one week before the wedding.

 

At a different restaurant Makoto, Shigeru, and Kaji were having their own lunch meeting. Shigeru started “So will this be at the usual strip club?”

Makoto responded “I want to invite Shinji, Kensuke, and Touji to the party and they're too young to get in. So we need to find someplace else.” Kaji mentioned that he could cash in some favors and get the empty apartment below where he lived and that it would be the perfect place for a party. Shigeru then mentioned he knew a couple strippers personally who he could get to show up but surprisingly to both he and Makoto, Kaji nixed the idea fast. He wasn't too worried about the boy's reaction, he knew they were completely devoted to their girlfriends, as much as he was about the girl's reaction to strippers being there. And he only needed to remind them of two different tapes of fights that they had all seen involving some of those girls in question to prove his point. The other two quickly agreed and the place and time for the party was now set.

 

Later that night Misato told Rei and Asuka about the bachelorette party and that Hikari was invited as well while Kaji told Shinji about the bachelor party and to tell Kensuke and Touji they were invited. Not surprising the next day was devoted entirely to the kids all discussing what was going on and how fun the parties were going to be. After school was over Touji and Hikari told them they couldn't hang around as they had to watch Touji's little sister today and Hikari said she would help. Also Rei said she was going over to Kensuke's house as his dad had invited her over for dinner so they could have a proper meet and greet session. This turn of events would leave Shinji and Asuka home alone and when they realized it they both took off as fast as they could.

 

As Shinji and Asuka got home they were greeted by Misato, Ritsuko, and Maya who were sitting at the kitchen table. Both children were absolutely devastated by this new turn of events and it could be plainly seen on their faces.

Misato said in a teasing voice “My you two got home in a hurry” while the other two women snickered.

Asuka yelled “Don't you people have work to do?”

Maya answered “No.”

Ritsuko said “All done.”

Misato responded “Nope.”

Asuka shot daggers at them with her eyes while Shinji looked at them with eyes full of sorrow and despair. Maya and Ritsuko were actually starting to feel really bad that they had spoiled the two young lover's plans, but not Misato.

Misato quickly said “Nice try you two, but I haven't fallen for that yet and I'm not going to now.” With their bluff called they both dropped their act and Shinji went to watch TV with PenPen while Asuka went to see why the three women were there.

As Asuka sat down she said “I knew I should have gone with the puppy dog eyes, it worked last time.”

Misato added though “Yeah, but that was on Kaji and you and Rei have got him wrapped around your little finger now.”

“So do you” Asuka shot back causing them all to start laughing. After talking with them Asuka found out that they were just there making plans for the party but more importantly that they would be leaving soon to start looking at dresses for the wedding. (A/N: For Maya's wedding think more Buddhist ceremony style than traditional Christian style.) They invited her to come along but she declined as she said Rei, Hikari, and her already had plans to go shopping.

 

As the three women left Ritsuko and Maya questioned the decision to leave the two alone but Misato told them she trusted them and knew neither one of them were ready to go all the was and that it would still be some time. When asked how she knew Misato explained that Asuka was still very afraid of being that intimate, and that she had talked about it with her many times already. Shinji on the other hand she knew would never pressure Asuka and would wait forever if asked to. Also the thought that the first time would cause Asuka pain terrified him. So Misato was sure that fooling around was as far as they would go.

 

And Misato was right, they had no plans to go all the way, but the second that door shut the part about fooling around proved to be correct as well. When PenPen heard the door shut he got up and went to his fridge as he knew this was his cue to disappear or be threatened to be made into dinner. Shinji was oblivious to what was going on as he was watching a documentary on the angel attacks that was so blatantly stupid and wrong he couldn't stop laughing. But his show was interrupted by Asuka, who jumped over the back of the couch and into his lap.

“What are you watching Shin-Shin?” Asuka asked while smiling at him.

Shinji picked up the remote, turned off the TV, and answered “The most beautiful woman ever.”

“Good answer Shin-Shin, you deserve a reward.” Asuka said and slowly stripped off her leggings. After watching Asuka's little show Shinji started to lightly tickle her feet. This led to an all out tickle war which surprisingly Shinji actually won. For his prize he took her skirt, which Asuka let him take off of her as she sat back on the couch. With her skirt out of the way he delicately started to plant butterfly kisses on Asuka's foot and slowly made his way up her delicate leg. He made extra sure to pay special attention to the back of her knees as he slowly kissed his way further up. When he got to her delicate inner thighs he slowed down to make sure every delicate inch was kissed. His actions along with him being so close to her most private of areas was making Asuka feel very good. And when he was done with one thigh he started kissing the other one with the same passion. But when he was done with that thigh he didn't go back down her leg. Instead he made his way back to the other thigh stopping in the middle to give a certain part of her panties a quick kiss. This was too much for Asuka and she decided to take back control of the situation. She locked her legs together, trapping Shinji's head between them.

Asuka then took off her shirt and bra and in a pouty voice said “This isn't fair. I'm wearing nothing but my cute little pink panties and you are fully clothed.”

“I guess you will have to do something about that” Shinji said while being enjoyably trapped. In an instant Asuka let him go and stripped him down to his underwear.

She pushed him on to his back on the couch and slowly crawled on top of him and said in her pouty voice “My lips are lonely, can you keep them company?” Shinji obliged whole heartedly. They laid on the couch locked in deep kisses while their hands savored each other's bodies for a long time. Asuka went a step further as she wrapped her legs around Shinji and pressed herself against him while they kissed. This advanced was very welcomed and she could tell it but eventually it was getting close to the time for Kaji and most likely Misato to come home and they reluctantly got dressed, and Shinji started to prepare dinner while Asuka “Helped” him by nibbling on the back of his neck and ears.

 

In another part of town “So when does your dad get home?” Rei asked.

“Not till five” Kensuke answered and they both raced up to his room.

Rei was standing in front of Kensuke in her bra and panties, while he was sitting on his bed in his underwear.

In a sexy authoritative voice Rei ordered him to listen “Here are the rules. No hands between the legs for either of us and no hands under our remaining clothing. Is that clear Captain Kensuke?”

“Yes Major Hottie” Kensuke said knowing she loved that nickname. Rei then pushed him down on the bed and laid down on top of him and stared into his eyes until he wrapped his arms around her and they started to kiss. After a while of kissing and letting their hands explore each others bodies, while following the rules, Rei started to nip at various parts of Kensuke's body.

“You know the punishment for biting is a little spanking, right Major Hottie?” Kensuke said playfully.

Rei quickly bit him ten times and bent over his lap “I guess I have to be punished now Captain” Rei said sadly but the little wiggling of her butt around in anticipation told him what she really was saying. Their little game of biting and spanking went on till about 4:30pm when they decided they better get dressed and cool down before Kensuke's dad came home.

 

Still in another part of town. “It was nice of your dad to come home early and take your sister to her soccer game” Hikari said.

“Yeah, he missed her last three so he decided he wasn't going to miss this one.” Touji responded as they watched the two leave in the car for his sister's game. When they saw it turn the corner they both then raced up to his room where they immediately stripped each other down to their underwear.

“So which of my big firm melons are you going to eat first Mr. Suzahara?” Hikari said putting her breasts right in his face. Touji dropped to his knees and pulled down her panties while saying “Neither.”

Hikari let out a little squeal and said “You've eaten everything else, so you now might as well eat me too.” Touji dove in and proved to Hikari he was a quick learner when it really mattered. After Hikari was very sufficiently finished she got up and walked around to face Touji. She then dropped to her knees and pulled off his underwear.

“Now it's time for my dinner” Hikari said seductively and Touji's eyes lit up. When they were done with their private dinners they got dressed and he walked Hikari home as she had to cook a real dinner for her family still. She gave him a kiss at her door and whispered in his ear “If you stay over for dinner you might just get some dessert.”

The night before the parties the two different groups were getting their areas ready. In the upstairs apartment, “Misato” Asuka asked “Do you mind if Hikari stayed over today and tomorrow night?”

Misato asked Hikari “Did your dad say it was alright?”

Hikari answered “He said he didn't mind.”

“Okay then” Misato agreed.

In the downstairs apartment Shinji asked “Kaji, can Kensuke and Touji stay over today and tomorrow night?”

“Your guy's dads okay with that?” Kaji asked.

“Yup” they both replied.

“Sure then” Kaji answered back. After the sleepovers were approved they all returned to setting things up.

 

Kaji went upstairs to see if the women needed anything. “Misato you need to borrow the ladder?” Kaji yelled into the apartment.

“Yeah, bring it in” she yelled back.

“Oh by the way Kensuke and Touji are staying over today and tomorrow night” Kaji said as he set up the ladder. Misato just stared at him in response. “Is there something wrong with that?” he asked her.

“Only that the girls had asked that about Hikari as well.” Misato said in a suspicious tone. Kaji stared back at Misato and they both realized they had been set up.

Misato then yelled “Girls get your butts over here NOW.” The three quickly girls ran over. Misato glared at them “Wait right here while Kaji gets your co-conspirators.” Kaji then went downstairs and dragged the boys up to Misato.

Misato started while staring at all of them “Interesting little plan you guys cooked up, but I don't know if I can go along with it.” This was not the right answer and six teenagers, all at once, started pleading and begging and promising they will behave and that nothing would happen. Misato and Kaji tried to put up a good fight but after twenty minutes fell to the children's tenacity and greater numbers.

 

During this battle Shigeru and Makoto came upstairs to see what happened to the others. They walked over to Ritsuko and Maya who were watching the battle from the kitchen table.

“What's going on?” Shigeru asked.

Ritsuko answered “The kids tried to trick Misato and Kaji into letting them all stay together for the next two nights.”

Makoto chuckled “Looks like the kids are winning.”

“They are. Misato and Kaji pretty much lost this battle from the start” Maya snickered.

With a roll of her eyes Ritsuko said “One guess on who thought up this cunning plan.”

Shigeru, Maya, and Makoto all responded in unison “Shinji.”

Ritsuko sighed “That trait definitely comes from his father.”

Maya added “It's a good thing the rest of his traits come from his mother.”

“That's for sure” Makoto said.

Ritsuko noticed a defeated look in Misato's eyes and said “I think it's just about over.”

“Yup, Misato and Kaji just gave in” Shigeru answered. “And people wonder why I don't want to settle down.”

 

As the children celebrated their victory, Misato and Kaji knew the next two nights were going to be very interesting. And as they looked over the bridge bunnies waved hello to them and all had big smiles on their faces.

“There never going to let us live this down are they?” Misato asked Kaji.

“Nope. And by Monday afternoon neither will the rest of Nerv.” Kaji said while shaking his head in defeat. The two groups then separated as there was still more work to be done.

 

Misato was talking with Maya and Ritsuko while the girls continued to fix up the apartment. “How are you going to keep them separated Misato?” Ritsuko asked.

“I'm still thinking about it” Misato answered.

Maya offered “Well you could put bells on their doors.”

Misato sighed “I tried that when I first caught Shinji in Asuka's room. But he just got a pair of wire snips and cut the clangors out of them.” She shook her head as she added “It took me four days to figure it out.”

The other two women looked at each other and said “Gendo.”

But Misato surprised them when she responded “I wish he only had Gendo's cunning, my life would be so much easier. When I took over at Nerv I found Gendo had actually kept most of Yui's information in a private safe. The more I read, the more I could see Yui was by far the smarter and more cunning of the two. She actually had him pretty much under control at the point of her accident. Things were starting to get better even, but after the accident occurred is when everything started going to hell. It was obvious that Gendo couldn't handle that Yui was now gone. I have noticed that Shinji does have a little of his father in him but from what I've read he is very much like his mother, and I can tell you I am very happy about that.” The other two women were amazed as this information was new to them. Ritsuko then asked why no one ever knew about this and Misato explained that after she read all the files she felt guilty about it and that they rightly belonged to Shinji, so she gave them to him. “After he read the files he hid them away, even from me. All he took was a picture of his mom and that is the one beside his bed. The only people who he has ever shared what he learned with is Rei and Asuka. He would most likely let me see them again if I asked, but I'm not going to.” Misato finished.

Ritsuko thought about this and said “I would be lying if I didn't admit a part of me really wants to see those files, but I think it would better off if I didn't.”

Maya agreed with that statement and then Ritsuko, trying to break the now somber atmosphere said “Misato where's all your booze?” This floored Misato. Of all the people, she forgot the booze. She told them that since she first even thought she was pregnant she hadn't had a drop, and that the only liquor in the house was the beer Kaji and PenPen drank. That realization decided the next course of action for them, it was time for a beer run. Even though she couldn't drink any booze she still knew what the best stuff was to get. Before she left though she told Kaji that the girls would be alone and that under no circumstances should the boys be allowed to sneak upstairs. He agreed and gave her a list of what he needed from the liquor store as well.

 

At the liquor store Misato was greeted with “Misato where have you been? It's been over three months since I last saw you” from the clerk.

“Sorry Micheru, I'm preggers” Misato said patting her stomach.

“I guess I will have to put off buying that Mercedes then” he said with a laugh. The two old friends then caught up on each others lives and Misato explained she was there buying for both a bachelor and bachelorette party. He helped them out with their selections and even gave them a good friend discount since they were buying so much. When they were done and paid for everything he loaded up Misato car, as he said he couldn't let one of his best customers strain herself while she was pregnant.

 

Once the three women got back home they went up to the rented apartment to get the boys to unload the car for them, but once they saw into the apartment they started laughing their asses off. Kaji had the three boys tied together with a rope like a chain gang. It was very apparent that they boys were not happy about this.

Kaji explained “The second you guys left they tried the old divide and conquer trick. I caught Kensuke on the balcony where Rei had dropped down a rope for him to climb up. Touji went for the front door while I was taking the rope and Makoto and Shigeru had to tackle him before he got out of it. Shinji actually managed to get out unnoticed somehow but I called Johnson and had him wait inside our apartment and he caught him while entering the place. So after I had them all rounded up I decided this would be the best way to make sure they couldn't get away again.” All three boys were grumbling pretty loudly about getting caught to Misato but she had no sympathy for them.

Eventually though, after she got a good enough laugh out of the situation, she had them released. “Okay boys, I need you to go unload the car for me. The bourbon, scotch, and keg of beer (A/N: Hidden reference) go down here and the rest goes to my place. Then you guys can be done for the night.” Misato told them as she figured that they had been tortured enough for one day. As the boys brought in the alcohol downstairs, Misato went upstairs where Rei and Hikari were watching TV and Asuka was grumbling something about “that goon Johnson.” But she cheered up when Shinji showed up carry a box a few minutes later. Now that everything was set up it was time to relax. At least for the kids it was, as Misato and Kaji had to watch them like a hawk. Eventually it was time for bed and Kaji ushered the three boys to Shinji's room and Misato ushered the three girls to Asuka's. Kaji then pulled his recliner to the middle of the entrance between the two apartments and announced he was going to be sleeping there. Both groups looked out from the doors and grumbled. It would be very hard to sneak into each other' room with him sitting there. And unlike Misato, Kaji was not a heavy sleeper.

 

After a while Shinji came out of his room and saw Misato and Kaji having some tea at the table talking to each other.

“Where do you think your going young man?” Misato said looking directly at him.

“Just to get a drink of water” Shinji said and continued “Plus Kensuke is talking about Rei, and I don't really want to know anything,”

“Rei doesn't seem to mind the stories Asuka has about you.” Misato teased him.

“That's because she uses them to blackmail me” Shinji said with a little laugh.

“That explains where she got that football the other day” Kaji replied with a little laugh himself. Shinji sat down with them as he figured Kensuke would be talking about Rei for quite a while. Misato then asked if Kaji and her could have a break tonight as tomorrow was going to be a big day and with a little one inside her she really needed her rest. She added on that she always slept better with Kaji beside her. Even though he shouldn't of Shinji understood this completely as he slept a lot better beside Asuka as well, so he agreed to let them off for tonight. He wrote a little note and slipped it into Asuka's room as he said goodnight to the girls and went back to his room to inform Kensuke and Touji of the ceasefire.

“So is it a love note?” Hikari teased.

“No, he already gave me one of those earlier” Asuka answered “This one just says we're giving Misato and Kaji a break tonight.”

Rei added with a sigh “I guess they deserve it.”

In the boys room it was a different matter as Kensuke and Touji were picking on Shinji for agreeing to such a stupid deal as he was the one who thought up the whole get together situation in the first place. But eventually they gave in as Shinji explained that Kaji and Misato really did deserve a break and that they knew this was the right thing to do. This wasn't what they wanted but they also had tomorrow night to look forward to so everyone went to bed so they would be rested up for the big parties.

 

In the morning Shinji was the first one up. He quietly got up and got a quick shower before anyone else would need to use the bathroom. After he was cleaned and dressed he started to make a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and one small order of french toast for Asuka as it was her favorite. The smell of breakfast drifted through out the apartment, slowly waking everyone up. Asuka woke up first and could smell that Shinji was making her special treat. She quietly got up, put on her robe, and walked out to greet Shinji in the kitchen with her usual good morning kiss. Misato and Kaji were the next to get up.

“You know Asuka, I don't know how nibbling on Shinji's ear counts as helping him make breakfast?” Misato said as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

“But it does” Shinji smiled back. The other four were now waking up and coming out to the kitchen.

“You have my treat don't you Shinji?” Misato asked.

“Yes” Shinji said in a unpleasant way. He then brought over a small bowl of hot syrup and two Oreo cookies. Shinji, Asuka, Rei, and Kaji turned their heads away as they knew what was coming next. Kensuke, Touji, and Hikari unfortunately did not and witnessed as Misato took the cookies, dipped them into the hot syrup and ate them with glee.

“Gross” they all yelled in unison.

“Actually it is very good” Misato said licking off her fingers as she finished up the syrup.

Shinji then brought over the peanut butter for her pancakes. “At least this craving makes a little sense” he said as he took away the other plate. When Shinji had everything ready they all sat down to eat a more normal breakfast.

 

When everyone was done Shinji cleaned up the dishes with Asuka helping him in her usual way. The other four kids went over to the couch to watch some anime while Misato and Kaji went to get showers.

“Why did Shinji only make french toast for Asuka and not the rest of us?” Touji said as he thought they looked very good and wouldn't have minded trying some as well.

“Because she's the only person Shinji will make them for” Rei answered.

“Why?” Touji asked as he was still confused.

“Don't know” Rei said and continued “All I know is Asuka's the only one. Anyone else who asks him to make french toast for them he just tells No.”

“That's weird” Kensuke said.

“I don't know, I think it's kinda sweet” Hikari smiled. “It's something special that just the two of them share.”

 

After everyone had gotten cleaned up the girls took off to go dress shopping while Misato went to pick up Maya and Ritsuko as they needed to finish up some final plans for Maya's wedding. The boys stayed home and watched a baseball game with Kaji and PenPen, and when the game got over Kaji left to go get Makoto and Shigeru. The girls got home first much to their and the boys pleasure. Each couple went to separate rooms but only got fifteen minutes of make out time before Misato got back with Ritsuko and Maya. Misato quickly broke up the happy couples and sent the boys downstairs while she told the girls to get ready as people would start showing up in about an hour.

 

Both parties were huge as a lot of people from not only Nerv but also around the city along with Maya and Makato's family were invited. The bachelorette party started off with the present giving, some of which Misato had the girls cover their eyes for as she didn't really want them to see anything that would put ideas in their heads. After the gifts numerous toasts were made to the success of the future couple causing the party to become wild and last long into the night.

The bachelor party started off with Shigeru on the guitar and Johnson singing a John Lee Hooker song that was the theme for the night. And thanks to the theme, the boy's party easily kept up with the girls and lasted just as long.

 

At about midnight PenPen made an appearance at both parties. He hopped out of his fridge and waddled up to Maya to wark his congratulations, drank a tall glass of champagne as a toast, and headed downstairs to the other party. At the bachelor party he waddled up to Makoto, warked his congratulations, got a triple shot of bourbon, a triple shot of scotch, and downed a beer. PenPen then tried to waddle back to his apartment but after falling ten times while only walking five feet, Shinji picked him up and brought him back upstairs.

He knocked on the door and Misato answered “Shinji what are you doing here? There's No boys allowed up here.”

“I have a new dish for you” he smirked. Misato looked at him strangely as all the food for the parties had already been made. Shinji then shoved PenPen at her and said “Pickled Penguin.”

Misato took one look at her PenPen and could tell he was hammered. She took the inebriated penguin form him and shut the door. “Damn lush of a penguin, you never could handle the hard stuff” Misato said as she put him into his fridge which caused anyone within earshot to break out laughing. After she put him away she walked back to the door, opened it, and proceeded to pull Asuka back into the apartment while Asuka claimed she was just rewarding Shinji for his good deed, causing everyone who heard that to laugh even harder. When Shinji got back to the party downstairs he was instantly questioned by a drunk Kaji on how he managed to get lipstick on his lips, but Shinji told him he was losing the contest and he better get back to drinking. This logic sounded right to Kaji and he went back up to the bar. Touji and Kensuke though questioned him on whether or not he had any other alcoholic pets that they could get a reward for bring back home.

 

When the parties got over most of the people dragged themselves to one of the fleet of taxi's that was parked outside waiting for them. Maya and Ritsuko felt bad that Misato couldn't drink so they decided to make up for it themselves. Ritsuko was now passed out on the couch, and the girls dragged a passed out Maya onto the recliner and put a blanket over her. After Misato put a blanket over Ritsuko she heard a knock at the door. When she opened it Shinji was dragging Kaji, Kensuke had Makoto, and Touji had Shigeru.

“Just great” Misato said “First PenPen, then Maya and Ritsuko, and now three more louses. Okay Shinji drag him to his bed, Kensuke and Touji throw the other two in the spare bedroom.” And after everyone had been deposited in their proper places Misato called the kids over. “It's late, I'm tired, I have a house full of passed out people, and even one pickled penguin. I'm in no mood to fight you guys tonight so here are the rules. Clothes stay on, NO hanky panky, and you guys go right to sleep. Agreed.” The six children, they themselves totally exhausted, agreed quickly to the rules. Hikari and Touji went to Shinji's room, Rei took Kensuke to hers, and Shinji carried Asuka to hers. They had all gotten exactly what they had wanted but unfortunately were too tired to celebrate. Within minutes everyone was asleep.

 

At about noon Shinji woke up. He sat up and stared at Asuka while she slept for a short time and then while giving her a little kiss on the cheek, whispered “Someday these parties will be for us.” He saw Asuka smile. Shinji then got up and found Misato in the kitchen.

“What are you doing up?” he asked quietly.

“Baby was hungry so I had some cereal and fruit” Misato said. Shinji then made two plates of toast and poured two glasses of milk. He sat down at the table and gave one of the plates of toast and one of the glasses of milk to Misato and told her she needed to have those as well.

“Yes MOM” Misato said sarcastically and finished up what he gave her. They sat and talked at the table until some of the others got up.

 

The kids were the first to wake up and were with Misato and Shinji when they heard a painful groaning sound. “Put a lot of coffee on Shinji” Misato told him and added “You're about to see why I don't really miss drinking.”

Ritsuko slowly made her way to the table as each step was a new adventure in head pain. She sat down and uttered softly “coffee.” After drinking one full cup and getting a refill she was finally able to speak in more coherent sentences. “What did I drink last night?” Ritsuko asked in a soft tone and then winced at the pain.

Knowing that laughing out loud at her would be painful Misato answered softly “One whole bottle of champagne and one whole bottle of wine.”

Ritsuko let out another pain induced groan at the truth. This time her groan was answered with another by Maya. Misato heard a couple more following that one and told the kids to get cleaned up while she attended to the walking dead. By the time the kids were done the rest of the dead were at the table whimpering over their mistakes while drinking coffee and nursing horrid hangovers. Misato then told the kids to go downstairs and clean up that apartment first.

 

A few minutes later Rei came back up and said “Misato, Johnson's passed out on the floor downstairs.”

Kaji groaned out “He won the contest.” Misato looked at Kaji and just shook her head. She then made a fresh pot of coffee and took it downstairs with her.

The kids and Misato pretty much had the place cleaned up by the time Johnson woke up. And when he did he drank the coffee right out of the pot. He handed the empty pot back to Misato and she teased him “So you won the contest?”

Johnson just groaned as he realized that the victory he was so proud of last night was now the cause of his current defeat. He tried to get up himself but stumbled a couple times so Misato got the kids and they helped Johnson get back up onto his feet, which wasn't easy for a severely hung over 6'10” ex-NFL offensive tackle.

When Rei found that out she told him “I always did have the feeling that I knew you from somewhere else.”

As they helped him down to his apartment on the first floor he explained that he played for the Kansas City Chiefs for four years before he blew his knee out and then went to work for Nerv in America for a half year before being transferred to Japan one and a half years ago. Shinji, Asuka, and Rei found the combination of Nerv's biggest agent and him living in the same complex as them eerily convenient. They shot a look at Misato who quickly turned her head away to avoid the gaze. After depositing Johnson in his apartment Misato realized she still had the coffee pot and raced back to the apartment before something bad happened with the other walking dead. After more work than she wanted to admit Misato was able to get everyone home and with help from Rei, Asuka, and Shinji their place cleaned up as well. At around 7:00pm she announced she was done cleaning, transporting, and care taking and went to bed. Kaji was right behind her.

On Monday most of Nerv called in sick. Tuesday through Thursday they all talked about the wedding and on Friday most of Nerv called in sick as well. The Friday thing was kind of normal as with little to do people tended to take off early. At school the girls were all talking about the wedding, what kind of weddings they wanted, and where they wanted them. Rei wanted a small one with a ceremony like what Maya was having. Hikari said she wanted a grand one with all her family, friends, and relatives complete with a beautiful wedding gown, a full wedding entourage, and in a big fancy church. Asuka combined the two. The boys pretended to be uninterested when the girls talked about this stuff but were actually paying very close attention as this was information they needed to know for the future.

 

Finally it was Saturday, the day of the wedding. The boys put on their best suits while the girls put on their pretty dresses. Misato and Ritsuko were helping Maya with her kimono, while Kaji and Shigeru were helping Makoto with his get up.

While watching everyone set up the final preparations Shinji whispered to Asuka “I wish it was us up there right now.”

Asuka responded while holding him “So do I.” Misato, who was standing right behind them and heard everything, developed a nervous twitch in her right eye.

Shinji noticed this and whispered even quieter to Asuka “Should we tell her that we agreed no rings till were 18 and no wedding until after college.”

Asuka took another look at the obviously flustered Misato and whispered back “After the ceremony.”

 

The wedding ceremony started and Makoto rode in on a small white pony to a waiting Maya. He silently bowed to her and she bowed back. They then placed their rings on each other's hand and drank rice wine from the same bowl. Now they were married. It was a beautiful ceremony and everything went smoothly except for Misato, who seemed to have a little tick in her right eye.

Other than champagne for toasting many of the guests shied away from it though. Everyone was having a very good time but as the night went on the six teenagers discretely disappeared one at a time.

They meet up in the hotel lobby where Kensuke had three card keys. “Okay I hacked into the system, for the next two hours these three rooms will be listed as reserved under a different wedding party. Here is your key Touji and Hikari, your room is 21C on the third floor. Asuka and Shinji yours is 11B on the fifth floor, and ours Rei is 18A on the eighth floor.” The kids then separated into their pairs and went to their temporary rooms.

 

Hikari and Touji had each other's clothes off within seconds of shutting the door. After looking at each other Hikari took Touji by the hand and lead him over to the bed while telling him with a seductive smile “Tonight I want to try something new.” She then laid Touji down on the bed and propped his head up with some pillows. Touji clearly understood what she was saying and asked her “Hikari ar-are you sure?” Hikari nodded her head yes and kissed him. Touji pulled away though and asked “I'm not pressuring you am I?”

Hikari looked at him squarely in the eyes “No. I want this just as much as you.” Touji wrapped his hands around her again and they held each other for a while.

“It's just my watch, I set it to go off ten minutes before we had to leave” Shinji said not really paying attention to what he was saying as Asuka's natural talent was already taking control of him. It took about a couple minutes for his phrase to sink in for the both of them and when it did both their eyes shot open and they yelled in unison “OH SHIT.” They both leaped out of the shower and dried off as best as they could while also trying to get dressed and out the door.

 

Asuka and Shinji met Rei and Kensuke in the elevator. “Lost track of time too?” Asuka asked them. Both Kensuke and Rei smiled greatly in reply.

Rei then noticed Asuka and Shinji's current state of appearance “Um… Asuka, you and Shinji are soaking wet.”

“Couldn't be helped” Shinji said with Asuka adding “Besides were not the only ones with tell tale signs. Rosy red cheeks are very flattering on you Rei and they are just as bright as Kensuke's.” Neither Rei nor Kensuke got to respond to that as the elevator doors opened to the lobby floor after Asuka finished saying that. Standing their waiting for them was Hikari and Touji. “You're late.”

Kensuke looked at his watch and said “Relax, I designed my program to last twenty minutes longer than we needed as a back up plan. We will be fine.”

This calmed down Hikari and Touji but then the two realized the states of the other couples. So while they walked back to the reception they were trying to think up explanations to explain their current looks. But before they could even get close to the doors Misato stepped out from behind a plant and greeted them with a menacing grin.

“So what do I have here?” she started deviously as she knew she had caught them red handed. She continued as she inspected each couple intensely “I will start with you two” she said to Touji and Hikari “You both seem rather innocent, but that spark in both of your eyes clearly tells me you're not.” She moved onto Rei and Kensuke “Just so you both know, flushed faces give away much more than you think.” She then moved onto the easiest of the three couples “Shinji, Asuka were you even trying? You're both soaking wet.” She was greatly savoring this but decided to at least let them try and find a way out of their predicament. “So do any of you care to explain why you have been missing for the last two hours.” The kids just stared at her with very guilty, but definitely happy faces.

Shinji was the only one who could even think up an excuse. “Asuka and I are wet because we just got back from swimming. Rei and Kensuke are flushed because the spent too much time in the hot tub. And Hikari and Touji were innocently looking into each others eyes in front of the lobby's fire place.” This was said with as much conviction as he could fake. The other kids all chimed in at once trying to lend more credit to the weak excuse but knowing there wasn't even a remote chance of it working. Misato started laughing hysterically at that and after she was finally able to stop she told them to follow her as she had something to show them.

 

First she led them to the fireplace in the lobby where she pointed to Ritsuko and her boyfriend making out in front of it. “They have been over there for a little over an hour. That's one excuse shot down.” She then led them over to the pool area where she tried to open the door to the pool and hot tub. The door was locked and the only way to get in that area was with room keys. The same room keys she had yet to give the children. “And there goes two and three. So anymore bright ideas Shinji?” Misato said with much sarcasm. But she didn't get a reaction out of him as he was now very much enthralled with the sight of Asuka in a soaking wet dress and white underwear that when wet did not hide much. Asuka wasn't making it easier as she noticed he was staring at her and started to do some poses to entice him. The other children just rolled their eyes as it was quite clear they were busted and that Shinji and Asuka were not making the situation any easier with their flirting.

Misato stepped in-between the two to interrupt the flirt session causing Shinji to say “I know, you caught us red handed and that we are all in for a big lecture tomorrow, but can't we have just a little bit more time to say a proper goodbye.” This made Misato roll her eyes as well. Busted dead to rights, Shinji was still trying to get some alone time with Asuka. Misato didn't know whether to praise him for his tenacity or wallop him for his depravity.

Asuka saw Misato's confusion and just smiled while saying to her “So where and when do you want us to meet for a lecture?” Misato just shook her head while she wondered if she was that bad of a smart mouth when she was younger, and that maybe this was fate catching up with her and biting her on the ass.

After taking a couple calming breathes she told the children “The lecture will start at 11:00 sharp in my room. And I expect you all to be there dressed and on time.” Misato then called over two agents and gave them explicit instructions to each take one of the groups of guys and girls and bring them to their rooms. She gave the agents the room keys for the rooms and told them to stand outside and make sure none of the offending parties left said rooms till 8:00am. Misato did have a little soft spot towards the kids though as she did let the young couples give each other a goodnight kiss before sending them on their way.

 

Once the teenagers were taken care of Misato rejoined what was left of the reception.

“So I take it you found the kids?” Kaji asked her.

“Yes” she replied and added before Kaji could say anything “And as you can already guess we have another lecture to give tomorrow.” He just laughed as he pretty much knew that was coming the second he realized that the kids were gone over two hours ago. He was a little concerned though as the kids, especially Asuka and Shinji, were becoming quite adapt at disappearing but so was he at that age so that too wasn't all that unexpected. It was just typical teenage behavior. And considering the past, typical was a very good thing.

He looked over at Misato and asked “So what time is the lecture?”

Misato answered “11:00am”

“Then we better get up to our room and make sure we know what we are talking about before it gets too late.” Kaji said with a very tempting grin on his face. Misato looked at him mischievously in response and they took off towards their room to make sure they brushed up on the material. As the two made their way to their room they passed by Ritsuko and her boyfriend. Ritsuko saw Kaji's hand slip under Misato's dress and she got an idea. She got up off the couch and took her boyfriend by the hand to her room. As they walked down the hall they heard some very interesting noises. “Huh, you would think they would sound proof the honeymoon suite.” Her boyfriend laughed at that as she continued to pull him down the hall. She then got to her room and pulled him inside. “All my other friends are fooling around right now and I don't want to go slowly anymore.” Her boyfriend picked up the very obvious hint and a while latter Ritsuko was kind of regretting giving up cigarettes. This was a very bad thought reminiscent of the old Ritsuko so she hoped on top and asked her boyfriend to “distract” her until the temptation was gone and he did over and over and over until the last thing on her mind was a cigarette.

 

At exactly 8:00 am both Shinji and Asuka quietly left their rooms so not to wake the others. They got their keys from the guards and both headed to the hotel lobby where they had planned on meeting. They meet in the elevator instead and shared a rather passionate good morning kiss which lasted until the elevator got to the lobby.

In the lobby Asuka asked “So the others still asleep in your room as well?”

“Yeah, they are both still asleep” he answered and added “You know the hotel restaurant is open and when I went through there last night I saw that they have private booths.” Asuka quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the restaurant so they could get a good breakfast and some more private time. But when they got there and she asked for a private booth the server turned them down saying those booths were for adults only. The server quickly recanted as Asuka's temper forced him to change his mind. Shinji just smiled as they were led to their booth. Some of the other patrons at the restaurant however were howling in laughter at how quickly the server gave in as Asuka little performance was not even close to what they knew she could really do.

 

They left the restaurant at 9:30am with very content looks on their faces and ran into Hikari, Touji, Kensuke, and Rei.

Touji asked with eyes that didn't know if they wanted to be open or not “How can you two get up so early? We didn't get to bed till 2:00am.”

Shinji simply answered “Morning is the only time Asuka and I have to be together in our apartment, so we are pretty used to it.” Asuka added on “If anyone is looking for us we will be in the pool area.”

“Really” the others said in unison with sarcastic tones. Shinji and Asuka ignored the implied comment and went to their rooms to get their swimsuits and met up again in the pool area. They both took a little dip in the pool but left when it started filling up with little kids. They wanted to use the hot tub but there were already people in it and they were in no mood to share. They did find that the sauna was empty, and after they entered it Asuka tied the door shut from the inside with her towel. Originally they were planning on some more “practicing” but figured since so many people were already around they would probably get interrupted, so they settled for just holding each other and talking until it was time to leave and get ready for the lecture. And that was a good decision as once during their little steam bath they saw a purple haired lady looking into the window at them. She moved on though after a couple seconds.

 

At 11:00am sharp all the kids were ready and entered Misato and Kaji's room. For the first hour they got the usual fire and brimstone lecture but after that Misato expressed her concerns about what they were doing. She told them that she just wanted to make sure they were being safe and that they were absolutely certain about their feelings for one another. The guilt trip method worked a lot better than the yelling one as at the end all six teenagers had looks of remorse on their faces. Misato smiled as she could tell her message was clearly delivered. At the end she told Hikari, Touji, and Kensuke that if they ever needed to talk to a mom figure about anything she was there for them. To her surprise as the other kids left with Kaji to go swimming Hikari and Touji stayed behind and asked if it was too soon to ask her some serious questions they had on their minds. She of course said it wasn't and had a long talk with them that she new was going to be repeated with Shinji and Asuka soon and Rei and Kensuke some time after that.
