A Soliloquy of Life: Chapter 9- Pleasureful Life

 

 

July 2nd, Misato had just finished a morning feeding of Mikomi when the nurse came in. “Is she all done?” the nurse asked softly as not to wake the kids.

“Yes” Misato said as she handed Mikomi to her.

The nurse told her “The checkup and tests should take about an hour and a half, and we will bring you and Kaji your breakfasts.” She then looked over at the sleeping children and asked “Have the kids had anything to eat since they got here yesterday?”

“Not that we know of” Kaji answered.

The nurse signaled for Mikomi to be taken to her checkup and said “Then I am going to wake them up and send them out. It's not good for growing children to go so long without food.” The nurse then flipped the lights switch on and off a few times and in a loud voice ordered “Rise and shine.” The kids all woke up and started gripping about how early it was. The nurse stopped the bickering by saying loudly “As cute as it is to see you all snuggled in those chairs, you haven't eaten anything in a day. Now get your scrawny butts up and get some breakfast. And not from that vending machine hell of a cafeteria downstairs, I want you to go to a nice sit down place and have a healthy meal. Do I make myself clear?”

The kids looked over at Misato and Kaji stunned and they just smiled and waved goodbye as the nurse marched them out. Once out of the room the nurse called over the intercom system “Anthony get your oversized butt up here and take these kids to breakfast.” A minute later Johnson came running around the corner.

“Take them someplace nice and nutritious, do you understand me?” she told him.

“Yes momma” Johnson said. The kids just stared at the two after hearing that It now made sense why Johnson was the way he was. They all grinned at him and he actually blushed. But the blush turned to worry as when they were about to leave his mother stopped him and sniffed.

In a very unapproving tone “You haven't been smoking cigars again have you?”

“Uhhh… we better get going now.” He said nervously and hurried the kids off.

 

As Johnson drove the kids to a restaurant they were still teasing him about his mom but told him they really did like her. He told them he owed everything to her as she was the one that raised him, and all by herself too. When he got to the restaurant he dropped them off and told them he would be back to pick them up in two hours as he had to get back to work. While they were waiting for their server to come and take their orders they pulled out the betting chart to see who had won the bet.

“Lets see” Kensuke started “Since she had Mikomi on July 1 that eliminates everyone but Hikari, Misato, and Kaji.” He then looked at the section for a girl “And since it was a girl that eliminates Hikari.”

“Misato and Kaji can't win, that's cheating.” Touji tried to argue.

Shinji answered “I sort of agree but they are the only ones that picked the right day and sex, there is not much we can do.”

Rei added “The funny thing is they picked separately.”

“But they can't win” Touji continued to argue. “Hikari was the closest so she should win.”

Hikari shook her head no at him and said “It's okay Touji, I don't mind.” Touji was going to argue his point again but the waiter showed up and his attention went to the food he wanted. He was starving after all.

After their orders were taken the conversation was switched over to Mikomi.

“She gets her hair from mom” Rei said with Asuka adding “And those eyes are Kaji's.”

Shinji said “She is definitely going to take after Misato in the way she looks, you can already tell. But when you were holding her Asuka, I thought I noticed a Kaji'sh smile.”

“I saw that too” Asuka said softly as she remembered how good it felt to hold the sleeping child in her arms.

Rei thought about this for a second and said “So she is going to grow up with Misato's looks and body, Kaji's deep eyes, and his suaveness as well. The poor males on this planet won't stand a chance.” The girls laughed about this but the boys looked a little worried because it was true. When that kid got old enough she might just have some unwanted protectors swatting off the boys.

 

After they finished breakfast, they paid the bill with a pretty blue card and waited outside for Johnson to pick them up.

While waiting Hikari thought about something Asuka had said earlier and asked “I don't remember seeing you hold Mikomi while she was sleeping, when was that?”

“When you were all asleep. I picked her up and held her for a while.” Asuka said in a soft tone with a light in her eye that was identical to the one in Shinji's. Both of the girls noticed this quickly. It was a look both of them were way too young to be having.

Hikari harshly admonished “Don't you dare even think about it” with Rei adding on in the same tone “You're way too young.”

“Don't worry, we know.” Asuka said trying to reassure them “But I am sure that Shinji and I will be the first.” That ending made Rei and Hikari even more worried. The two of them glared at Asuka and Shinji with extreme disapproval. But the look in Shinji and Asuka's eyes refused to change.

 

When the van arrived Rei and Hikari made Asuka sit in the back with them while Kensuke and Touji made Shinji sit in the front. Both girls were stressing why it was very important to wait to Asuka while she, in vain, tried to tell them not to worry. In the front Kensuke, Touji, and Johnson were telling Shinji how uncool and stupid it was to knock up Asuka while they were still in high school while Shinji, in vain as well, tried to tell them not to worry. When they got to Nerv, the other children and Johnson watched the two very carefully and pretty much didn't let them have contact with each other. That was until they got to the maternity floor where they were met by Michele and a certain nurse who both grabbed an ear and hauled Johnson away, yelling at him about smoking cigars. Apparently that was something he wasn't supposed to do. When they got to Misato's room they had to wait outside because the room was full of visitors who wanted to see the new baby. Outside the room the talking to that Asuka and Shinji were getting continued until enough people had filtered out of Misato's room that they could dart in to escape the harassment. Inside the room the others were hesitant to bring up the subject in front of Misato and Kaji.

In the room Misato had Kaji inform them that there was nothing wrong, but the obstetrician wanted Misato and Mikomi to stay another night. But this time only he would be staying and that they needed to sleep in their own beds tonight. Also Misato and Kaji asked Asuka, Shinji, and Rei to set up the baby's room for her arrival the day after. The kids weren't exactly happy about this news but Nurse Johnson came in and informed them that they didn't have a say in the matter. She also told them they had only two more hours of visiting time left before she sent them home. That room had seen enough excitement for the day and the staff ordered some quiet time for the little one.

 

When she left Asuka and Shinji whispered something to Misato and she nodded yes. Asuka carefully picked up Mikomi and gently cradled her in her arms and Shinji and her left to go on a stroll through the maternity ward to introduce Mikomi to some of the other staff that had yet to meet her. When they left the room the other kids tried to give chase, but Kaji stopped them by barring the door.

Hikari exclaimed “I don't think that is a good idea Misato.”

Misato calmly answered “They are just going for a little walk with her.”

Rei said “But you didn't see the look in their eyes earlier.”

Misato answered trying to reassure them that it was safe “I saw that look last night, and I know exactly what they are thinking. But they made a promise to me and I trust them.”

“But Asuka said she was going to be the first, and she sounded serious.” Hikari countered.

Misato calmly tried to reassure them again “And I am certain she will be. I even know when it will be and I know they will be ready by then. You don't have to worry, it is still a ways off.” The other kids were still uneasy even though Misato had complete trust in Asuka and Shinji. When Asuka and Shinji came back, Shinji was now holding Mikomi in the same way that Asuka had been. This did not make the others feel any better, but it did make Misato and Kaji happy. Having a pair of live in babysitters that knew what they were doing was a very good thing. And both Asuka and Shinji looked like they were up to the task.

 

The obstetrician showed up when it was time to leave. She marched the kids out of the room and told them they could come back tomorrow. The kids reluctantly left and went to their homes. When Rei, Shinji, and Asuka got home they were greeted with a loud and angry “Wark.”

“I'll bet your hungry” Shinji said to the perturbed penguin. He then got PenPen a double serving of sardines to make up for his missed meal. Asuka and Rei went over to the baby's room and started to fix it up for Mikomi's arrival. Shinji went over to help but was interrupted again by another loud “Wark.” Shinji let out a little laugh as he knew what PenPen now wanted and he went back into the kitchen.

When he opened up the refrigerator door he said “Uh oh in all the confusion, it looks like Kaji forgot to buy more beer.” PenPen flipped out at that and started running around in circles while warking. The three of them watched him for a few minutes until Shinji ended the torture as he pulled out a beer and told him “This is the last one, so make it count.” PenPen quickly snatched the beer and downed it. He then looked back up at Shinji expectantly.

“I told you that was the last one” Shinji repeated and picked him up to show him the empty part of the fridge where the beer was stored. The horrible sight crushed the poor penguin and when Shinji put him down he sulked over to his own fridge and pouted for the rest of the night.

 

After finishing up the baby's room and grabbing something to eat they decided to go to bed earlier than usual. They remembered very clearly what they had been told by the other families and knew with Mikomi coming home tomorrow, this might be the last full night's sleep they would have for quite a while. As Shinji followed Asuka into her bedroom, Rei stepped in-between the two. “I think you should sleep in your own bed from now on.” She sounded pretty serious about that too.

Shinji answer though was to roll his eyes at her, pick her up, and then he carried Rei to her room where he put her down on her bed. “I am going to tell you this one more time” he instructed “I am not going to get Asuka pregnant anytime soon, so stop worrying.” He then shut her door behind him as he left and went back over to Asuka's room to go to sleep. Two minutes later Asuka and Shinji noticed the door opened a crack and something was slipped though. Then the door shut again and they heard a second door shut a couple seconds later as well. Shinji got up and looked at what was slipped in. After smirking he threw it to Asuka.

“I don't think she believed you Shinji?” Asuka laughed when she saw what Rei had given them. She looked at the package a second longer and said “I was planning on going straight to bed, but it would be a shame not to use it.” She then opened the condom package and added “Only one time tonight, we need our sleep.”

 

In the morning when Shinji made breakfast and Rei joined them, they made absolutely clear to her that she and the others did not have to worry. She finally believed them this time. Of course she only believed them because Asuka threatened to go in her trash and show her the used condom from the night before. That was something that Rei did not need to see.

 

This time when Asuka, Rei, and Shinji went to the hospital it was just the three of them, as the others agreed this should be family time. Once they got to the hospital they saw Kaji carrying around Mikomi outside of the room.

He told them “Give Misato a minute. She just finished feeding her and wanted to get a shower and cleaned up before she got dressed.” The kids and Kaji then played with little Mikomi until Misato was ready.

When Misato was done Asuka asked her “So when do we get to take her home?”

Misato answered “At noon. They have one more test they have to do and then they will be done. Did you guys get her room ready for her?” The kids answered yes. Misato then teased Asuka and Shinji “Did you keep your promise to me last night?”

“Do I have to threaten to show you the used condom too?” Asuka sassed back.

“Not really” Misato answered “But it wouldn't be the first time I saw one of yours.”

Asuka blushed “I already said that was an accident.”

“It better of been.” Misato warned her “I don't like the idea of you defiling my kitchen table.”

Asuka smirked as she remembered that time. There was some definite eating going on that day so the table was the perfect place. Rei on the other hand let out a loud “Ewwwwwww. I eat off of that table.”

 

While Mikomi was having that last test the kids told Misato and Kaji that they had won the bet. Both were surprised as neither knew what the other had picked. Misato said she picked the day because she could tell the doctors were wrong, and she just had a feeling that it was a girl. Kaji said it was a lucky guess on the day, but he had picked a girl because that is what he wanted. Misato took the money and said she had the perfect way to use it. She left it in the hospital room as a tip for all the staff that had helped her thru this.

 

The staff all said bye to little Mikomi as the family left. But when they got down to the parking lot Misato had another surprise for them. “I know all you kids liked my sports car, but with Mikomi our family just wont fit in it anymore” Misato then signaled for one of the employee's to drive up the surprise. “So I decided on an upgrade.” A fully loaded blue van then pulled up. The kids looked on in amazement, while Kaji just shook his head.

Misato looked at him “Kaji stop shaking your head, we have more money than we know what to do with.”

“That isn't the point” Kaji replied.

“Then what is?” Misato questioned.

“Ummm…well” is all Kaji could say. He had gotten so used to shaking his head and muttering about their spending every time the girls or Misato bought something, he forgot why he did in the first place. “Ok, ok the van is a good idea but you did keep the car, right?”

“Of course I did” Misato told him “but it is hidden away until the kids stop asking to borrow it.”

“Speaking of the kids” Kaji started and turned his attention towards Rei and Asuka “Give me back my credit card.”

Rei and Asuka both shouted back loudly “NO.” Misato chuckled as she handed him Mikomi and told him to put her in the car seat while she showed the kids all the neat features the van had. While she did that she fished the credit card out of Asuka's purse but then put the card in her purse. Kaji saw that and sighed. So close yet so far away. As they drove home Kaji decided he liked the van. Not only was it safer and roomier but also Misato didn't drive like a madwoman in it. Plus the back seat folded down and that was something he had some ideas about. It was also why the kids weren't going to be able to borrow this vehicle either.

 

When they got home they introduced Mikomi to PenPen, who gave her a nice “Wark.” But after Misato laid Mikomi down in her crib he started running around warking angrily about something.

“What's his problem?” Misato asked.

“We're out of beer” Shinji answered.

Misato walked over to PenPen and said “I think it's time you went on the wagon.” PenPen gave her the evil eye for that, but when that didn't work he started crying.

“Okay, okay we'll get you some beer. But I am going to start cutting you down to one a day, got it?” Misato told him.

PenPen responded with a loud “Wark” and stomped his foot.

That was the wrong answer to give to a woman who had just given birth and Misato stared down her lush of a penguin until he ran away to his fridge.

 

Little Break

 

For the first few weeks the family only got woken up a couple times a night, when Mikomi was hungry, but as she got to one month her crying picked up. She was a very typical baby and the family was reacting in the very typical way to that. Lack of sleep.

It was during the first week of August and Shinji and Asuka were dragging themselves to school while Kensuke and Rei talked happily as this was the last week of class. The next week would consist of final tests for the first half of the week, but they were all decent students so they weren't too worried. After the finals they would have the rest of the week off in preparation for the class trip to Okinawa the following week. All the kids were very much looking forward to that.

 

“Stand, Bow, Sit” the class rep said. Hikari started a chat as the teacher went into his usual spiel.

Shinman = Shinji; Allstar = Touji; MilitaryIntel = Kensuke; RedQueen = Asuka; ClassRep = Hikari; and Ice = Rei.

 

ClassRep: Rough night Asuka.

RedQueen: Very. Poor little Mikomi had nightmares all night.

Shinman: I think Asuka and I got a total of two hours of sleep.

Allstar: Can't you let Misato handle her?

RedQueen: Don't be a doofus, when a baby cries everyone wakes up.

Shinman: If we had neighbors, I'd feel bad for them.

ClassRep: What do you mean if?

Ice: Over the past couple of months every time someone moves out, no one takes their place.

ClassRep: That's strange, you guys live in some nice apartments. I wouldn't think anyone would have problems finding a buyer.

Ice: That's the weird part, they are bought. But no one ever moves in.

ClassRep: That is weird.

Allstar: Speaking of weird, why are Asuka and Shinji half dead and you're all rested up Rei?

MilitaryIntel: Maybe she's just a heavy sleeper and doesn't wake up.

Ice: That's right.

RedQueen: Or maybe she has been sneaking out and sleeping at Kensuke's place.

MilitaryIntel: Prove it.

RedQueen: Rei you forgot to shut your door last night.

Ice: Oops.

RedQueen: Don't worry Shinji did it for you when he was carrying around Mikomi last night.

Ice: Thanks big bro.

Allstar: Forget it Rei, Shinji's already sawing logs.

RedQueen: Yawn…sounds like a good idea.

ClassRep: I suppose there is no point in telling them to wake up.

MilitaryIntel: Not really, they would just fall back to sleep.

Allstar: We will just have to talk without them.

Ice: So when do you want to go shopping for bathing suits Hikari?

ClassRep: After our finals are done on Wednesday.

MilitaryIntel: Why do you need a new suit, don't you like the one I bought you?

Ice: I love it, the shopping trip is for you guys.

Allstar: Why do we need new swim suits?

ClassRep: Because we said so. Also Rei, I need a new one too.

Ice: Still won't go out in public in the one Touji bought you?

ClassRep: That and it's been worn out.

Allstar: I'll buy you another one.

ClassRep: Not going to happen lover boy.

Allstar: Please.

ClassRep: No.

Ice: Just wear your plugsuit that will make him happy.

ClassRep: Can't. It disappeared a little bit ago.

Allstar: I still don't understand how it vanished.

Ice: One word for you—Misato.

Allstar: Why would she take it?

Ice: For the same reason she said she took ours, birth control.

ClassRep: I'm surprised you haven't taken them back.

MilitaryIntel: We've tried, she hid them good.

Ice: Asuka, Shinji, Kensuke, and I have spent hours searching Nerv, but we couldn't find them anywhere.

Allstar: Next time I'll help.

ClassRep: Speaking of Nerv, next time you go there can you deliver a thank you card to Ritsuko and her father-in-law for the reduced hotel rates from the principal.

Ice: Sure, by the way have they listed the itinerary for the trip yet?

ClassRep: Yes. They gave me the list this morning. Monday we leave at 11:00am to fly down there. Then we check in, have a class meeting, and after that we are free to go out to dinner but we have to be back by nine. On Tuesday we have the usual sight seeing tour in the morning, followed by a class lunch. Then we get to go snorkeling in the afternoon. And this year they added a beach cookout for dinner. Along with that will be a little dance afterwards.

 

While Hikari was typing they heard Asuka mumble in her sleep “Where's my hat?”

Shinji mumbled back while also asleep “Ride'em cowgirl.”

 

ClassRep: Do we need to wake them?”

Ice: Not until Asuka says yee haw.

Allstar: Are they having the same dream?

Ice: Yes, but give them a break they're a little frustrated.

Allstar: Why should they be, it's Misato and Kaji who had the baby.

Ice: Yeah but they take turns with them getting her back to sleep, so they are too tired to get up early in the morning. That and nothing kills the mood faster than a crying baby.

MilitaryIntel: You can say that again.

ClassRep: A little personal experience you two?

Ice: Why do you think I sneak over to Kensuke's house now.

MilitaryIntel: *extreme happiness*

Ice: *extreme happiness* back at you. But go back to the schedule.

ClassRep: Wednesday is the best day as they give us the whole day to ourselves, I'm thinking beach.

Ice: Does that sound good to you guys too?

Allstar: Can we ogle you gals in your swimsuits?

ClassRep: Of course you can.

MilitaryIntel: Then it is a good plan.

ClassRep: Okay then. Thursday we go on a glass bottom boat cruise for most of the day, and then we have a class dinner to announce the next years Class Reps.

Ice: Do you have any competition this year?

Allstar: No, the principal already told her she won.

ClassRep: That's supposed to be a secret Touji.

Allstar: Sorry.

MilitaryIntel: It's not much of a secret.

ClassRep: I know, but the school makes a big deal out of it. Back to the schedule though. On Friday we have the morning free, but we leave for the airport at 1:30pm. Then we have a week off and start the next week as seniors.

 

They then heard Asuka say “Yee Haw” in her sleep.

 

Ice: Time to wake them up before they start talking dirty.

 

But it's too late as Shinji says “Gawd, I love how tight you are Asuka.”

 

Touji nudged Shinji while Hikari nudged Asuka. Shinji woke up and growled at Touji, but Touji whispers to him what he just said in his sleep. To which Shinji proudly proclaimed “I can't help it if it's true.”

Asuka woke up and glared at Hikari while saying “I was coming to the best part.”

“Any longer and you would have had an orgasm in your chair” Hikari teased her.

“Wouldn't be the first time” Asuka proudly proclaimed. The rest of the class turned around and stared at them when she said that.

Asuka simply told them all “Mind your own business.” There was a good bit of snickering as the rest of the class turned back around, the teacher though winced as he looked at his teaching desk. Asuka and Shinji then put their heads back down on their desk to try and get back to the point from which they were disturbed but with the mood broken they couldn't and it became quite obvious by their moods when they were awoken again for lunch.

 

When the boys joined the girls halfway through lunch they walked right into the middle of a conversation about breast-feeding. They tried to turn around but it was too late as the girls dragged them in.

“What is your guy's problem with Misato's breast feeding?” Asuka asked with Hikari adding “Two years ago you would have done anything to get a peak at her boobs, but now every time she starts you guys vacate the area.”

“That's because two years ago we didn't see her as mom” Kensuke answered and Touji added “And now that we do it's just gross.” Hikari and Rei laughed at them for this.

Touji said trying to get them back “We wouldn't run away if you girls took yours out”

“Behave Touji” Hikari said.

Rei kidded them “Are you guys that bad that you can't wait till after school.” Kensuke and Touji gave their girlfriends a devilish little smile.

“Boys” Hikari and Rei said together and then looked over at Asuka as she had suddenly become very quiet in a situation where she usually wasn't. They all saw Shinji staring at her chest and Asuka staring a little further down on him. It was obvious what was on their minds.

“You guys need a cold shower” Hikari said and quickly added “Separately” as she noticed a twinge in both their eyes at the word shower.

 

“Rise, Bow, Dismissed” the class rep said and added “Boys to the pool, Girls to the track.” When the girls got to the track Asuka excused herself to use the bathroom. When the boys got to the pool Shinji did the same. It was over 30 minutes later before they returned to class. The track coach looked at Asuka when she returned but Asuka just told him “girl problems” and he nodded his head and didn't give it another thought. Both Hikari and Rei were staring at her when she returned.

“What?” Asuka cooed happily. They shook their heads in disapproval as they both knew it was not her time of the month.

Up at the pool Shinji was having a harder time. The swimming instructor was staring at Shinji waiting for a good excuse.

He first tried “Boy problems.” She shook her head no.

“Food poisoning?” he then tried. She shook her head no again.

He then said “Did I mention Asuka and I are taking care of our baby sister after school for a couple hours so that my mom and dad can have some relaxation time.” The swimming instructor looked down at her seven month swollen belly and said “I want two free nights of babysitting.” Shinji agreed to the future deal and she told him to swim a few laps to cool off.

 

In the locker room the girls were taking their showers when Rei tapped Asuka on the shoulder. She looked over and Rei said “Sorry.” From the other side of her she heard “This is for your own good” from Hikari. She felt the water turn ice cold and let out a scream. Shinji heard this scream on the boys side and then heard Kensuke say “Oh yeah, we almost forgot.” Touji turned Shinji's shower ice cold as well. Shinji too let out a yell.

When the two groups met up outside the locker rooms Asuka said through chattering teeth “They got you too?”

Shinji answered with chattering teeth as well “Yes, but I read somewhere you can conserve body heat by huddling together.” The two went for each other to warm up, but were stopped and dragged back to the classroom.

Hikari said while Rei and she were dragging Asuka “I think you two already generated enough body heat earlier” with Touji adding while he and Kensuke dragged Shinji “ we held you under those cold showers for two minutes. How can you still be trying to go at it?”

“Easily” Asuka and Shinji yelled as they were dragged back to their class.

 

After school was over Rei told them she was going over to Kensuke's but would be home in time for dinner. Shinji and Asuka entered their apartment quietly. Misato was in the recliner reading a book while Kaji was sleeping on the couch with Mikomi sleeping on top of him. Misato noticed the two got home and gently woke up Kaji as Asuka carefully picked up Mikomi and cradled her so she would stay asleep.

Misato whispered “We are just going to the tea garden down the street. There are two bottles of milk in the fridge in case she gets hungry, and don't worry about dinner we will pick something up on the way home.” Misato and Kaji then slipped out for a much needed break. Asuka sat on the couch with Mikomi cradled in her arms while Shinji snuggled up next to them.

 

When Misato and Kaji got back home they saw Asuka and Rei talking at the kitchen table while Shinji was asleep on the couch with Mikomi on top of him. Kaji walked over and woke Shinji, and then picked up Mikomi to put her down in her crib. Rei and Asuka helped Misato unpack the take-out and set the table.

“I fed Mikomi about a half hour ago” Asuka informed Misato.

“Good she should sleep for a while so we can eat.” Misato said

Rei looked over at Shinji and Kaji and said “It's funny how she likes to sleep on Kaji and Shinji a lot.”

Asuka laughed “She's already got those two pretty well trained.”

Misato answered her “She better enjoy it while she can. We are both going back to work at the end of this month and I doubt the nursery staff is going to let Kaji sweet talk them into letting him take naps with her.”

“Speaking of work, what has been happening at Nerv?” Rei asked.

“A lot” Misato said “I have Fuyutsuki give me a status report every morning. We just hired a hospital administrator to help in that area as with the small hospital we run being expanded and the new maternity ward and nursery, it was getting too big of a job for Ritsuko. Especially since she has started up a neonatal health research department. And since some of the early results from her efforts are already turning a profit, much to the U.N.'s happiness, I want her concentrating on that. Also after much badgering from the doctors and nurses I have given the okay to remodel the lunch room into a full service cafeteria. Plus Maya, Makoto, and Shigeru are running feasibility studies on the Magi system of future projects that if they work out could make Nerv a self-sustaining organization. Which is something we need to do if we want to stay together. Money is needed elsewhere in the world and we will be cut off from government sources starting next fiscal quarter.”

Asuka kidded her “Misato the business woman. Never thought I see that.” Misato just smiled and then Kaji and Shinji came over and joined them for dinner.

The first part of the next week was a little tough on the kids. Even though they were prepared for the finals, they still had to put in work for them. And taking them wasn't exactly fun either. But on Wednesday after the last test was done the teacher stood up in the front of the class.

He announced “Everything I told you about second impact is a complete load of BS, you all know what really happened, and I QUIT.” He then walked out of the classroom.

A minute later the principal came over the intercom “Is he gone yet?” Hikari got up and pressed the two way button.

“He just left a minute ago” she told him.

“Good, now remember our deal. You let me borrow Johnson for my end of the year meeting with the superintendent and school board and I get you some real teachers.” The principal said as he was sick and tired of the 2I crap as well but couldn't get his superiors to change their minds. When it comes to change he was finding people were very stubborn about it and he needed some help to get the education system back on track.

“We already asked Johnson and he agreed. This learning on our own is getting annoying.” Hikari said and switched off the intercom. Hikari then turned around and looked at the class “Since our teacher is gone, I guess I am in charge.” She looked at her watch and added “Technically we have an hour of class left, but since I want to go shopping. Stand, Bow, Dismissed. See you all on the plane on Monday.” The classroom emptied in a matter of seconds.

 

At the mall the girls picked out swim trunks for the boys. Shinji's was a white and red striped one to match Asuka's. Kensuke's had remarkably similar markings to Rei's plugsuit, so it matched hers. And Touji got a pair of yellow trunks that matched Hikari's new swimsuit. A yellow bikini, just not as skimpy as her last one. They then went and did a little more shopping to pick up some other items they needed for the trip.

 

Since Misato now had a van she picked everyone up and took them to the airport. The kids were very excited for this trip. The first class trip only Kensuke, Hikari, and Touji went on. It was okay but it was during the angel wars so that was on the back of everyone minds. Asuka and Shinji did go on the second, but they weren't together yet and there was all this ambiguity about whether they should be hanging out together. It pretty much got in the way of any fun. Rei didn't go on that trip either. She stayed home and was bored out of her skull. For this trip though they were all together, and knew this would be a very memorable one.

During the flight they were talking about what they all wanted to do when Hikari pulled out a restaurant guide. She started to go over it to see which restaurants they could go to that were affordable until Rei stopped her. With a big smile on her face she said while flashing a pretty blue card “Everything is affordable.”

“Does Kaji know you have his card?” Shinji asked as he was sympathetic towards Kaji and knew that he probably wouldn't approve of what she just said.

“No, but Misato does.” She answered. That caused Asuka to giggle, that was a very common answer.

 

After the plane had landed and everyone loaded their luggage onto the bus, they went straight to the hotel to check in. At the hotel they were greeted by Ritsuko's father-in-law, who owned the hotel that they were going to be staying at. He introduced himself and the staff and explained the Hotel's rules to everyone. Then the chaperones announced that there would be three boys or three girls to each room but as a reward for all their hard work, and thanks to the generosity of Ritsuko's father-in-law, each class rep would get their own room. That left the situation at Hikari has her own room, and since she did that meant Asuka and Rei would get to share a room between them, and Kensuke, Touji, and Shinji were all sharing a room. The six kids huddled together and in less than a second had the rooms rearranged so that there would be a more equal distribution. This was going to be even better than they thought.

Ritsuko's father-in-law walked up to them during that impromptu meeting and whispered “My daughter says hi, and that you all owe her some major babysitting for this.” The kids all laughed as they thought the coincidence was too good to be true. He then told them that his grandkids were around, but that he put them up in one of his other hotels. They thanked him for his more than kind gesture and Shinji wrote a short note and left it on a table. Within and minute, and after the kids all turned their backs, the note disappeared.

“That should handle that” Shinji said.

When the kids looked at what room numbers they were given they realized another coincidence. Because there were so many kids on the trip and this was a popular hotel, all the rooms for the students were spread out over the first four floors of the hotel. This would make it difficult for the chaperones to keep track of everyone. Also, by accident, three rooms were switched with some people wearing black suits and left off the list given to the chaperones. Those three rooms just happened to be on the penthouse floor and were luxury suites. The kids all gasped when they opened their doors. All three rooms had just about every luxury you could want. It was absolutely amazing and best yet they didn't have to share. Intimacy is often ruined when you have to share.

“How much time do we have before our meeting Hikari?” Rei asked as she was already getting certain ideas.

Hikari responded in a very dejected voice “Only 20 minutes, and we can't blow off the meeting.” As the same ideas surged thru her mind too.

Rei sighed “I guess the outdoor jacuzzi will have to wait.” The kids then went into their rooms, unpacked, and changed into some more casual beach clothes.

 

When they left their rooms to go to the meeting they were met in the elevator by a lean and very fit blonde woman dressed in a black business suit and with a piece of tape over her right pocket.

In a serious tone she said “We got your note, and we will watch them.” She then switched to a more casual tone. “Do you really even need us to do this? You guys can easily handle them.”

Asuka responded “Not really, we just wanted to make you guys feel useful.” The woman laughed and asked in an inquisitive tone “If you guys aren't going to really need us, could we possibly have your complimentary alcohol?” Since the kids had no intentions of drinking anyway, they let them have it. The blonde woman got off on the next floor.

When the door shut again Rei said “You can really tell that she was one of Misato's earlier recruits.” They all nodded their heads in agreement.

 

At the meeting the chaperones took attendance and went over the trip rules, what the itinerary was, and that all the kids had to be back and checked in with them by nine o'clock sharp. They then excused the students for the night. The kids decided to check in with the chaperones right away. They told them they would eat at one of the hotel restaurants and stay in the hotel for the rest of the evening.

 

Since this was a hotel for everyone, there were three different kinds of restaurants. A bar and grill type of restaurant with karaoke, a family style restaurant, and a fancy upscale restaurant. The kids chose the fancy one, much to the jealousy of anyone who saw them go in there as that one was way out of their price range.

When they entered the restaurant though they noticed how fancy it really was and started to turn around as they also noticed they were severely underdressed for this kind of restaurant. The maître d' stopped them. Since this was a resort he told them beachwear was appropriate for the restaurant and seated them at the best table. He was given prewarning by his boss about the six and was instructed to treat them with the utmost respect. The waiter came and gave them their menus and brought them a basket of hot fresh rolls with sweet butter. He came back when they were ready to order. Shinji ordered the roasted teal wrapped in bacon and served in a wine and truffle sauce, with creamy wild rice risotto and steamed vegetables. Asuka ordered a petite filet mignon stuffed with crab and served with asparagus spears and pan roasted red potatoes. Rei ordered the pan seared scallops with linguine and a fresh garden salad. Kensuke ordered the freshly caught salmon seared in a lemon and dill sauce with roasted vegetables and parmesan mashed potatoes. Hikari ordered the lobster with melted butter and lemon, served with rice pilaf and sautéed vegetables. And Touji ordered the prime rib served with a loaded baked potato and grilled vegetables. The waiter complimented them on their choices, and before he served them their meals he brought each of them a small serving of lemon sorbet to cleanse their pallets. After the kids were finished with their main course he took their dessert order. For dessert they shared a chocolate raspberry turtle cheesecake, tiramisu, and an apple torte with ice cream covered in caramel sauce . The decadency wasn't over with dessert as when the waiter brought out hot cinnamon towels for them to clean up with he brought out the bill too. With it was six chocolate covered strawberries. They didn't even look at the bill and just told the waiter to take twenty percent as his tip as they gave him a pretty blue card. They instantly became a staff favorite when they did that. (A/N: This is what happens when I write too close to dinner time.)

 

After they left the restaurant they decided to meet up with some of their classmates. They were going to join them in the pool area, but by the time they got changed and back there they noticed thirty kids stuffed into a hot tub built for 15. The pool was also packed and when they checked out the sauna it was full of people as well. They looked at each other and decided on a more private gathering. The kids weren't trying to be anti-social, but since they were in the mood for a nice soak they decided to use the resources they had available to them. They went up to Rei and Kensuke's room and watched the sun set into the ocean from their jacuzzi. After watching the beautiful sight Hikari and Touji, and Asuka and Shinji got out and went to their own rooms for an enjoyable evening. Rei and Kensuke decided to stay in the jacuzzi to see what it would be like in the warm night air.

 

At 8:00 am the kids met up with the other students in the lobby to go on the morning tour. It was a typical open air bus tour with some tour guide blabbing away at all the exciting things to see and do. The kids were still quite tired from the late night they all had and slept through the whole tour while sitting in the back of the bus. They weren't the only ones like that either so no one really noticed. At lunch time the tour ended and they stopped at a park where the chaperones handed out bag lunches to all the students. Now that they were caught up on their sleep and had some food in their systems they started being more sociable with the other students. And as they were going to the reef to go snorkeling they warned the future sophomores about the sharks in the area. Along with the warning they told them the gruesome story about a sophomore who disappeared 10 years ago while snorkeling and all they found of him was a severed hand with two fingers bitten off. To this day it is a mystery what happened to him but the locals have stories about a giant tiger shark in the area that is still seen swimming around that has what looks like two fingers stuck in its teeth. The current sophomores all had smirks on their faces as this story was a tradition that had been going on as long as anyone could remember. The soon to be seniors always told this to the soon to be sophomores. The truth was a large net that kept out any fish bigger than two feet surrounded the whole diving area. And the only large things with dorsal fins were two trained dolphins that were very friendly and part of the attraction.

 

At the reef the sophomores and juniors quickly got changed, picked up their gear, and dove in to explore the reef. The freshman on the other hand had to be told about the fence and introduced to the dolphins before they would even go near the water. Kensuke brought along his camera with an underwater adapter so that he and Rei could take pictures of scenes that Rei might want to paint. As they swam around she had him take many pictures and when they ran into Hikari and Touji, Hikari asked them “Have you guys seen Shinji and Asuka lately?”

Rei answered “Last time I saw them they were playing with the dolphins, but that was a half hour ago.” The two couples looked around the area. They saw most of the students on the beach, swimming around the reef area, or playing with the dolphins. But off in a corner area where it was just rocks with no reefs or fish they saw two snorkels poking just above the water. As they swam over and went around the rocks they could see the back of Shinji's body and the back of Asuka's legs. They swam away from the two as they knew they were alright, and at this time wanted some privacy. When they got back to the reef area Rei borrowed the camera and said she wanted to try and get some underwater shots of the dolphins and swam off. When no one was looking she snuck back to the rocks again. She took a quick picture and swam back to the others.

“Did you get the picture you were looking for?” Hikari asked Rei, without knowing what Rei was really up to.

With a big smile she answered “Yup, two down and one to go.” Kensuke smiled as he knew what the hidden meaning of that saying was. When Asuka and Shinji finally rejoined them, Rei pulled the two aside.

“Shinji, Asuka please let me explain before you say anything” she said and showed them the digital picture she had took of them. Asuka blushed heavily and Shinji got a look of shock to his face, but both reactions faded away quickly as Rei explained why she took the picture. They both nodded their head in approval and Rei hugged them and said thank you as it was very important to her. She had a series of paintings she was working on and certain people where her subjects.

 

When the class was done snorkeling they all got on the bus and headed to the hotel where the chaperones told them they had about and hour till the cookout began. Most of the kids used this time to take a quick nap as snorkeling had worn them out. Asuka, Shinji, Rei, Kensuke, Hikari, and Touji didn't even get beyond the lobby as they crashed on the couches.

 

At the cookout everyone had a good time hanging out with each other. They were served fresh seafood cooked right on the beach, a wide variety of tropical fruits and vegetables, lot's of different kinds of breads, and even and roasted pig on a spit. Touji was very appreciative of the display of food in front of him but turned down the invitation he got from some teammates for an eating contest. He pointed to Hikari as the reason why and they chuckled at him. When the dinner was finished the dance started. The band played a wide variety of music so everyone had something to dance to. At 10:00pm the chaperones told the freshman and sophomores it was time for bed and sent them off. The juniors were allowed one more hour for the dance, and the band switched to slower songs. The three couples danced closely together under the moonlight. At 11:00pm the juniors were sent to their rooms as well.

 

In their room, Hikari let Touji strip her of all her clothes. She then stripped him of his clothes and said “Let's test out our jacuzzi tonight.” She led him outside and turned it on. Hikari then sat down on one of the lounge chairs on their private patio and spread her legs “But first it needs to warm up, and so do I.” Touji went back into the room for a second and then came out with a surprise. Somehow he had stashed away some of the tropical fruit in their room. Hikari's eyes grew big as a plantain was the first fruit he used. By the time he was finished she was covered in the juices of many different fruits and was very sticky. But the hot tub was not what was used to clean her off, Touji's tongue was.

The hot tub didn't get used till much later and was nowhere near as hot as Hikari.

 

When Kensuke shut the door to their room Rei immediately pounced on him and started to bite him all over his body. “Slow down Rei, I am having trouble counting” Kensuke said playfully. Rei just looked into his eyes and kissed him deeply, and lightly bit his tongue once for good measure. She then stripped him of all his clothes and found him quite receptive to her touch already. She looked him in the eyes and reached down with her hands and slowly started stroking him while she kissed him passionately again. She delicately played with his tongue before she dropped to her knees to make sure another part of him would soon be finished playing with her tongue. When they got out of the elevator they noticed three particular boys standing in the lobby, flirting and bragging about themselves with some of the freshman girls. It was obvious that they were trying to corrupt a couple of the younger innocent girls.

A blonde woman in a bathrobe came up behind them and asked “Do you want us to take care of them, or do you?”

They turned around and looked at the woman, who was obviously looking a little under the weather. Asuka kidded “I don't think that is a standard issue uniform.”

She winced a little and said “You try putting on a uniform when you're hung over.” They all laughed at that and told her to go back to bed. She was more than willing to comply with that order and left. They watched the three grandkids for a bit longer to observe them before they went to reintroduce themselves. The girls walked up to the grandkids first and got their attention by asking in unison “Do you like our swimsuits boys?” The grandkids turned around and looked at the girls. The only thing they noticed was the bigger chests of these new girls. This of course pissed off the girls they were talking to before and they left. Shinji, Kensuke, and Touji then snuck up behind the boys and tapped them on their shoulders. When the boys turned around Touji said to them “If we kicked your asses last time just for annoying our girlfriends what do you think we are going to do to you this time for catching you looking at their tits?” The three grandkids shook for a couple seconds and then took off running.

“Well that wasn't much fun” Kensuke said dejectedly.

Shinji added “I didn't think they were that big of chickens.”

Touji smiled and said “At least now we have more time to ogle the girls.” The other two quickly agreed and left with their girlfriends for the beach.

When they found a good spot the girls put down the blankets while the boys set up the beach umbrellas. Laying around and doing nothing while enjoying the warm sea breeze was a very good use of their time in their opinion.

 

The boys were rubbing sun tan lotion on the girl's backs when a familiar looking girl walked by them flaunting herself. They told the girls to look. All six of them stared at her and none of them could quite place where they knew her from. She wasn't one of their classmates and was too young to be working for Nerv. Eventually the girl noticed them staring at her and she walked up to them arrogantly but when she got close enough to make out who they were she took of running. The girls then looked back down and shut their eyes again.

“Who was she?” the boys asked.

“The granddaughter” Rei said.

“With dyed hair” Hikari added.

“And a fake nose to go along with the fake boobs” Asuka finished. With the boy's curiosity now settled, they went back to rubbing the girl's bare backs.

 

After lounging around for a while they decided to go for a swim in the ocean. Asuka, Hikari, and Rei were giving the boys a show by splashing around and playing with a beach ball. The boys were greatly enthralled by the show but eventually, and without notice, Shinji disappeared. While still playing with the beach ball Asuka let out a surprised “Yelp.” The others looked at her but noticed a grin come over her face as she reached down and pulled Shinji up from under the water by his hair.

He smiled back at her and asked “How did you know I wasn't a fish?”

She answered “Because I have never had a fish swim between my legs and stick its tongue up there.” He gave her a knowing smile but was shot down when she said “We can play later, but right now I'm getting hungry.” Shinji's stomach then growled as he realized they had not had breakfast or lunch. They went over to the others and talked with them and they said they were hungry too so they packed up all their stuff and got dinner at an outside café along the beach. Now this was a place Kaji would agree with. Well at least until Asuka notice some other classmates there and she picked up their tab too. Touji did the same with some of his teammates and it snowballed after that. Before they realized it they had paid for pretty much their whole senior class and then some. Asuka placed a quick call after that and got the answering machine. “This message is for mom so stop listening dad…. Misato whatever you do don't let Kaji open the next credit card bill. He might have a heart attack.”

 

Once they were done with their dinner they went back to the hotel. They told the chaperones that they were checking in for the night. The chaperones looked at them funny as it was only 6:30 pm, but since they were about the only kids in the class they couldn't remember chasing around the halls or outside they waved them on their way. As the kids walked off though the other chaperones all realized the reason they hadn't had to chase them around was because they hadn't even seen them at night. That in itself was suspicious so one of them decided to follow them. He trailed behind and watched what floor the elevator took them to so he could follow but when the elevator was at floor two a pretty blonde in a skimpy bikini walked by and winked at him causing him to lose his concentration. By the time she was out of sight and he looked back, the elevator was at the top penthouse floor. Since he knew all the kids were on floors one thru four he figured he just missed what floor they stopped on. They were some of the more reliable and better behaved students anyways so he figured they were fine. When he got back to the other chaperones he told them they got off on the floor he was in charge of and that they were fine to cover for his little dalliance with the blonde in the bikini. They accepted his answer and he told them he was going to wander around some to make sure none of the kids were doing things they shouldn't be. As he walked around the forth floor he spotted the blonde in the bikini coming out of what was supposed to be Hikari's room.

He looked at her suspiciously and asked “What are you doing in that room?”

She answered him “A back ground check on you.” The chaperone was a bit put off by that answer and looked at her strangely. Her answer to that was to grab him and pull him inside the room. She then shut the door and locked it. The chaperone looked around the room and noticed all sorts of high tech gadgets and a black dress uniform over in the corner.

“Wh- what's going on here?” he asked.

“Just my job” she answered. “But you got a little too nosey and did something you should not of. You tried to follow our special kids. We don't like that. So something must be done about it.” The chaperone gulped as the beautiful blonde in front of him looked very dangerous. There was no doubt in his mind that she could put up a nasty fight. She took one step forward and he took one step back. But she wasn't going for him, she was just getting a slip of paper out of a fax machine. “Okay lets see what I know about you other than you are a major cutie.” She read the document. “Your name is Ryo Tagasaki. You hail from the east side of Tokyo-3 and are 29 years old. You are an assistant manager for Gainax films and you are single” she smiled at that “And you broke up with your girlfriend of one year three weeks ago because she was cheating on you.” Ryo was starting to get very nervous. This woman knew some very personal things about him. She continued on “Your blood type is A- and we got the results from the STD test you went to the doctors for after you found out your girlfriend was cheating on you.” She smiled even more “Negative. And you're a pretty healthy stud too.” Ryo was now confused. He was happy to hear his test results but kind of wondered how they got them before he did. She read a bit more and then said “You got to be one of the chaperone because your Dad is on the school board and you are most likely here because you needed a chance to escape your life for a bit because you think it sucks. This is a very common way of thinking after the type of break up you had.” She stopped there and began to inspect him closely. There was a lot more written down on that sheet, some of it very embarrassing, but she had proven her point. She knew exactly who he was. Now she had a job to do “Now lets get back to the topic at hand. You know something you shouldn't.”

Ryo quickly blurted out “No I don't!” as she was looking scary again and not smiling anymore.

“Oh yes you do” she said “You know all about the private rooms up on the penthouse floor.”

“The what???” he replied as he didn't know what she was talking about.

“Now this could go a couple ways” she told him and forced him to sit on the bed. “We could make you disappear or you could cooperate with us.” She stepped directly in front of him. Ryo began to sweat, not only was his life being threatened but the only thing that stood between him and a pair of beautiful breasts was a skimpy bikini top. It was almost like she was tempting him with them. They way they got closer when she breathed in and how they bounced in front of him when she would shift her weight, if it wasn't for the death threat this could easily be one of his fantasies. “While I like the way you are objectifying my body I do need an answer. Considering he didn't really want to die he said “Cooperate. Definitely cooperate.”

The smile on the blondes face returned. “I was hoping you were going to say that.” She then reached back and untied her top, letting it fall to the floor. She then swayed them up and down “You are going to cooperate and let the kids turn in their keys to you without asking any questions, right?” his head shook yes. “That's a good Ryo.” Her boobs stopped moving and so did his head. “Now this next part is totally optional. The organization I work for relies on inside informants to do its job properly. Would you like to become my inside informant?” His head went up and down and agreed to the deal as certain body parts told him what answer she wanted. She smiled at him and started to unbutton his shirt. “Now that we got the unpleasantries out of the way, my name is Natasha, I'm 28, I am a Aries, I was born in Sweden, and I am AB+. My employer is the Nerv organization and I have worked for them for about three years. While I love my job it precludes me from having any kind of social life. Normally I am not this forward but you are cute, I like the way you look at me, and I have not had a guy in two years. I may be looking for someone to date seriously but I am not a hundred percent sure.” As Natasha moved down to unbuttoning Ryo's pants she heard her cell phone ring. And it was the special ring that no agent is allowed to ignore. She let out a sigh “And I have to answer that because it is my boss and she knows what we are doing because I wasn't smart enough to close the window shades and one of my fellow employees ratted me out.” Natasha got up and drew the curtains shut as she answered the phone “Hello Ma'am.”… “I know this isn't part of the job ma'am.”… “We needed someone on the inside and well…”… “We can trust him.”… “Yes ma'am”… “No ma'am”… “I know ma'am.”… “Sorry ma'am”… “No ma'am”… “Please ma'am.”… “You know I have never done anything like this before.”… “But I am tired of coming home to an empty apartment everyday ma'am”… “Please ma'am” Ryo could tell by Natasha's speech that this wasn't going well. In fact it sounded like she was getting chewed out. He looked at the beautiful blonde and made a gutsy decision, he was going to try and help her.

He was about to put the phone down but she shook her head no at him. “She is reading the background profile I did on you. She will answer you when she is finished. You have to wait.”

It took about five minutes before he heard a female voice ask “Do you like your job Mr. Tagasaki?”

“Yes” he answered.

“Wrong” she told him. “You hate your job and this vacation made you decide that you want to go another course in life.”

“It did???” he was starting to shake while Natasha's eyes got big. She knew what was happening. Apparently Misato must have liked what she had read about him. One of the things that attracted Natasha to him was he had a military background that included some metals for bravery and acts of honor. He once ran in front of a truck to save a little girl while on duty. Also he had a black belt in Aikido and was a common contributor to local charities. These were thing Natasha knew Misato liked in her special security people. As she watched his eyes get as big as hers she knew Misato was telling him everything he didn't know. Misato was recruiting him in her own special way, which involved him not being able to say no. That's how Misato recruited her too. But I am impressed you did. Good job Agent Tagasaki.”

He let out a very tired “Thank you ma'am.”

“You sound so tired” she kidded him “Well you better rest up then because I am ordering you to de-stress Agent Gunnersen again after the class dinner tomorrow.” The thank you ma'am that time was a livelier one. She then told him “Natasha is one of my favorite agents. You break her heart and I break you, understand?”

“Yes ma'am” Ryo answered. “That won't be a concern ma'am.”

“Good to hear that rookie.” Misato said “And on a final note, you hate your apartment too. You will move out of it after basic training and into a more efficient one where your mentor, Agent Natasha Gunnersen, can properly train you.” Misato then hung up on him and turned her attention back to Mikomi. “Please don't fall asleep now. I don't want to be all lopsided.” (A/N: I think I got carried away and strayed too far off topic. Sorry about that. I will get back to the main story now.)

 

As the kids got off the elevator they agreed to meet up at 9:00 am to get some breakfast before they were to leave on boat tour. In Asuka and Shinji's room Asuka told him to go warm up the jacuzzi as it was their night to be outside.

 

At 9:00 am the kids met up and went to one of the restaurants downstairs for a quick breakfast. During the breakfast Rei asked “Did Misato and Kaji sound a little frazzled on the phone to you guys?”

Asuka answered “Yeah, I noticed that too.” With Shinji adding “We should give them a night off to themselves when we get back.” Rei and Asuka thought about it and it sounded like a good idea.

At 10:00 am they met up with the other students and got on the bus to go on their glass bottom boat tour. During the tour they saw all kinds of tropical fish, rays, a couple wild dolphins and even a shark or two. They also saw some warm-springs penguins swim by.

Rei said while watching them “Technically isn't PenPen supposed to have been released back into the wild by now.”

Shinji grinned as he answered “Yes, but when the agency came to pick him up from Misato he was drunk. So they decided he was better off in captivity.”

Asuka laughed a little as she added “They were worried he would be a bad influence and instead of one drunken penguin there would be a whole group of alcoholic penguins swimming around.”

“Speaking of alcoholic penguins, how is PenPen doing?” Hikari asked.

Shinji answered “Misato has got him down to one beer a night, but he's still grumpy and she has to keep the beer out of his reach.”

“Poor little thing” Hikari said.

“It's for his own good” Asuka replied. “Plus Misato needs that space in the fridge for baby food.”

 

The class dinner was held in the hotel's reception area and was hosted by the principal who had flown down to announce the next class reps. After everyone finished eating the principle made his announcements. He announced the soon to be sophomores class reps first then he moved onto the soon to be juniors selections. There was some happy people, some mad people, and some sad people. That always happened as it was a pretty fierce competition for that honor. Nothing looked better on an college application than that title. When he got to the seniors and was about to announce the class rep for class 2B everyone beat him to the punch and said “Hikari” out loud. She blushed a little at this but kind of knew it was coming as it never was much of a secret. The principle himself smirked too. He didn't think the students were going to announce it like that but he also knew everyone knew what he was going to say. In fact this year none of the other students in that class even put in for the job. There was no point to running against her, they simply knew they wouldn't win. The principle then announced the remaining senior class reps for the other senior classes before he made one final announcement “Thanks to some help from an outside resource, I have convinced the superintendent and school board to hire some new teachers. So starting now you will have teachers in the classroom who will actually teach and you won't have to learn everything on your own.” That part of the announcement got mixed reactions. Most liked it but it also meant they would have to pay attention in class now so some of the lesser students grumbled. The second half of the announcement made everyone happy “And that 2nd impact garbage will no longer be taught.” There was even cheering after that. He then told the kids that they were free till checkout at 1:30 pm tomorrow and to have fun. The kids hung around and celebrated with the others for a while before discretely slipping away for some more private celebrations. They noticed one of the chaperones doing the same thing.

 

The next day the kids came down, loaded their stuff onto the bus, and gave their keys to a certain chaperone that checked them out. Since they had a little time to kill they decided to have lunch at the fancy restaurant again. Rei was giggling pretty much thru the whole lunch.

“Rei will you stop that. I bought too much stuff and it didn't fit in my suitcase anymore.” Asuka said.

Rei laughed back “But of all the things you could have taken out, you picked your hat.”

Asuka responded sheepishly “I didn't want it to get crushed.” Shinji quickly agreed with Asuka as he would be very devastated if anything ever happened to that hat.

Hikari looked at the two and said seriously “The mile high club is strictly off limits, understand?”

Asuka looked at her and feigned shock. “I would never do anything like that.”

Hikari, Rei, and Kensuke just stared at them while Touji coughed “Bullshit.”

Asuka and Shinji started laughing with Shinji adding “Besides the bathroom is too small. It would be a challenge doing it in there.”

 

On the flight back home the kids were resting when they overheard a conversation between some of the sophomores behind them.

“Did you hear the rumor that they were shooting a porno at the hotel?” one of them asked.

“Yeah, if you snuck outside on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday night you could hear them” another answered.

“I tried to see something with my binoculars, but I couldn't see past the privacy walls up there” another said.

Then one of the junior girls chimed in arrogantly “By the way the girls sounded you could tell they were faking it, especially the first night.”

Kensuke, Touji, and Shinji looked over at their girlfriends with heart broken looks in their eyes. But the girls just whispered in their boyfriend's ears that they definitely weren't faking anything. Every noise they made was real and they very much enjoyed emitting them. That made the boys feel better and they sat back and relaxed again.

 

During the flight Shinji got up to use the restroom. Asuka put on her hat and tried to follow, but she felt a pair of hands grab her arms and hold her in her seat until he returned.

When Shinji sat back down next to her he said out loud “Spoilsports.”

The others said back “Freaks.”

 

When the plane landed the kids families were there to greet them and pick them up to go home for some much needed rest. On the way home Rei, Shinji, and Asuka were talking with Misato about all the fun stuff they did and also played with Mikomi as they really missed her. Once they got home they unpacked their stuff, gave Misato, Kaji, and Mikomi the presents they had gotten them and then crashed. Rei fell asleep in the recliner while watching sports and Shinji and Asuka fell asleep on the couch with Mikomi falling asleep on top of Shinji.

Misato looked at the scene and said to Kaji “It's good to have my family back together.” Kaji just gave her a little squeeze and went over to turn off the TV so they could sleep better.

Mikomi was the first to wake up as she was hungry but Misato picked her up to feed her and told the others to go back to sleep. When Misato was finished she tried to put Mikomi down in her crib, but she was very persistent that she didn't want to go back into the crib and only calmed down when she was put back down on Shinji.

On Monday Rei, Asuka, and Shinji presented Misato and Kaji with a gift. First Shinji told them “We three decided that you two deserve a little vacation as well. So on Wednesday we are kicking you guys out and we will take care of Mikomi for the day and night.”

Rei handed them a gift certificate and said “This is to the same dinning and dancing restaurant Kensuke and I go to, you'll like it.”

Asuka handed them a hotel receipt and said “You two are not allowed home till noon on Thursday.”

While greatly touched by the kid's generosity, Misato politely refused. And then got chewed out by the three until she finally caved in.

 

On Wednesday at 8:00 am the three were trying to get Misato out the door. “Let me check if there is enough milk in the fridge” Misato said in a slightly panicky voice.

“You already did, twice, and there's enough milk for three days.” Shinji said trying to pull her to the door.

“But what about her rice” Misato said trying to get away.

“She's got more than enough” Asuka said and added before Misato could say anything “And we know she likes it soupier than the box says.”

Rei then added “And we have plenty of diapers” as she figured that was next on Misato's list. Kaji got back from putting an overnight bag in the van, grabbed Misato from behind, picked her up, and carried her out the door.

He said “Save your kicking and screaming for later tonight, lets go.” Misato turned a bright shade of red as she was dragged out the door. No sooner than when the door shut they heard her exclaim “At least wait till we get to the van.” followed by a “No” and then a giggle and the sound of two people running off.

Rei asked “So did Kaji tell you his plans, so we don't run into them today?”

Shinji answered “They are going to the zoo this morning, then a little tea house for lunch. Afterwards he said he was taking her to the movies and then they will go shopping till dinner time.” He stopped there as he knew the other two could figure out the rest.

Rei thought about this for a second, looked at her watch, and said with a little grin “The zoo doesn't open for another hour and it only takes fifteen minutes by car to get there.”

Asuka replied with a smirk “Yeah, they will probably be late.”

 

Since it was such a nice day it was decided that they should take Mikomi on a little trip to the park. They loaded up the baby bag and put Mikomi in her stroller and Asuka, Shinji, Rei, and Kensuke walked to the park. They invited Touji and Hikari as well, but those two said they had to go to Touji's little sister's soccer game and then one of Hikari's sister's game first, but they would come over after that for dinner with little Mikomi.

Asuka pushed Mikomi in her stroller with Shinji right beside her while Rei and Kensuke walked behind them. As they walked down the street they did garner a few odd looks but Asuka would just stick out her tongue at the strangers for making a crass judgment without knowing the facts. They pushed her around the park for a while and took her out to let her play on the grass with another little one they met with her mom at the park. After Mikomi was done playing Asuka gave her a bottle while sitting on one of the park benches. Rei got a little shiver down her back while watching that. Asuka looked way too natural holding Mikomi. And Shinji was no better as he sat beside Asuka and played with Mikomi. If she didn't know better she would have agreed with the people given those two looks. When Mikomi was done with her bottle and was starting to get tired they took her home and put her down for a nap.

 

Misato and Kaji were having a peaceful walk around the zoo. There were many animals, and a lot of baby animals to see. Seeing the baby animals Misato had to ask “I take it I would get into a lot of trouble if I called and checked in on the kids already, wouldn't I?”

Kaji answered her “Yes you would. And anyway you know they are fine.”

“But it is only natural for a mother to worry” she pouted and grabbed for her cell phone in her purse. Kaji stopped her and made her put the phone away.

He reassured her by saying “If there is a problem, which there won't be, they will call you.” Misato pouted a little again but Kaji gave her butt a pinch and said “Those workouts you have been doing have really been paying off.”

Misato just looked at him and shook her head while saying “I can see right through your little ploy Kaji, but since I liked it, I won't call them yet. But I will call them at lunch time.” Kaji agreed to let her and then they started to talk about other things while watching two tiger cubs play together.

“I see you're buying another apartment” Kaji said to her.

“Don't worry I will be putting that one and most of the others up for sale pretty soon.” Misato replied.

“Do you have a buyer for that one yet?” Kaji asked.

Misato answered “Maya and Makoto said they needed a bigger apartment with the baby coming so I am going to sell that one to them.”

“What about the others?” he asked.

“I am going to keep three of them for later, and sell the rest to any Nerv employee who wants them. I know several couples who would be interested.” Misato said and added “Oh… I forgot to tell you, I am buying one of the two old ninny's apartments.”

Kaji thought about this for a moment and asked “Is that the one that is spreading the rumor that Mikomi is really Shinji's and Asuka's baby?”

“Yup” she answered “And the other one is thinking of selling as well.”

“Good, the sooner those two old gossips are gone the better.” Kaji laughed “The things people must think about our family belong in a soap opera.”

 

Kaji and Misato stopped at a teahouse for lunch and Misato called home but got the answering machine. Kaji told her “Oh… I forgot, Shinji said something about taking Mikomi to the park at noon.” Misato gave him a little slap on the hand and called him a “Rat” for that little joke. About a half hour later her phone rang.

“What do you want MOM?” she heard Asuka say right away.

Misato answered sheepishly “I just wanted to see if everything was okay.”

“Yes” Asuka said and added “No more calls, got it?”

“Just one more.” Misato pleaded.

“No” Asuka said.

“But I only want to sing Mikomi a lullaby when you put her down tonight.” Misato said softly.

Asuka knew this was important to her as she did this every night so she said “Okay, you can do that, but no other calls.” Misato agreed and Asuka told her to relax and have fun.

 

After eating they went to see a romantic movie, where Kaji spent most of his time whispering into Misato's ear or letting his fingers do some roaming.

“That was very naughty” Misato chastised Kaji as they left the theater.

“Then why didn't you stop me?” Kaji asked playfully.

Misato smiled “I didn't say I wanted you to stop, I'm just pointing out that it was naughty.” She then gave him a little peck on his cheek as a thank you.

After the movie they headed over to the mall. Since they were going out someplace fancy Misato needed a new dress. This was part of the agreement to get her out of the house. Or a better way of saying, it was a bribe. Kaji even agreed to get a new suit himself as his old suit was getting pretty tattered. Misato tried on a wide variety of dresses and chose a sleek black evening gown with just a little splash of sparkle. Kaji greatly approved of her dress and even made a proposition of skipping the restaurant and going straight to the hotel. But Misato told him she wasn't that easy and wanted to be wine and dined first.

 

At the restaurant they had a romantic dinner and Kaji proposed a simple toast. “To our family.” Misato clinked her wine glass with his. This put her mind into a different frame of thinking. She was thinking about her family now. Both she and Kaji had gone through many tumultuous times before finally figure things out. And three of her kids went through hell on earth and suffered more pain in a short time than most will throughout their entire lives. But through it all they found each other, and the love they shared would forever keep them together. She smiled as she continued thinking. She knew the latest addition to her family would grow up in an environment totally different from any of the others in her odd little family but the end result would still be the same because love would be the primary factor.

She looked at Kaji and said “We have a very odd family, don't we Kaji?”

Kaji looked up and chuckled a little “Yes we do. We have three children with very unusual backgrounds. Two of which are actually dating each other and will end up married with children of their own, and the other has an anomalous origin but will end up the same. Plus we have a new child as well, which according to rumor isn't even ours. Then there is us. Two of the most screwed up individuals ever. But through it all we are together, bonded by love… And I wouldn't have it any other way.” He said the last part in a very sentimental and reflective way. Both of them just looked into each other's eyes for a while sharing the same thoughts of their family. They then went out to the ballroom to dance slowly for a bit where Misato laid her head on his chest while they danced. She was listening to his heartbeat. This always had a very calming effect on her and whenever she was stressed she would do that. Knowing he was by her side made life so much better. No matter what happened she would never be alone.

When it was Mikomi's bedtime Misato sat back down so she could make her call. Asuka answered softly “I just started feeding her” and put the phone close to Mikomi's ear. Misato sang her a lullaby while she feed just like she had always done from the time Mikomi was born.

When she was done Asuka said in a quiet voice “She's asleep, and everything is fine.” Misato then hung up her phone. Kaji gave her a little kiss and told her she was an exceptional mother and led her back out to the dance floor for some more slow and romantic dancing.

 

At the hotel and once inside their room Kaji said while removing his suit “This is the first time in a very long while that we have been alone.”

Misato looked back at him puzzled and said “But the kids give us plenty of privacy.”

Kaji walked over to her and started to strip her of her clothes while whispering into her ear “Yes they do, but we always have to be so quiet so they can't hear us.” Kaji started to kiss the back of her neck while gently caressing her naked form. “But here we don't have to worry about being quiet.” He then picked her up and carried her to the bed. He set her down and started ravishing her body with kisses, and as lapped the area between her legs he told her “Now let that wild women I know you have inside you out.”

The three kids laughed at her while Asuka handed her Mikomi. While Misato held her child closely she got a full report from Rei and Asuka about everything that had happened while she was gone. She told Shinji to go down and help Kaji bring up stuff from the van. When Shinji got back up with Kaji, Kaji mumbled something that sounded like thank you and went straight to bed.

Asuka and Rei gave Misato a knowing smile and she blushed, but also said “It was your guy's idea” as an excuse. Kaji slept until it was time for dinner, Misato had to take a nap as well, but get up to feed Mikomi.

 

At dinner time an interesting rumor topic came up. “So Asuka” Misato started “I take it you walked by the ninny's apartments with Mikomi yesterday?”

“A couple times” Asuka proclaimed proudly and added “Why is the rumor that Mikomi is mine and Shinji's love child spreading?” She ended that statement with a bigger smile than Misato was comfortable with.

Misato gave her a little glance and asked “You're not purposely spreading it are you?”

Asuka answered “Not really, I just like to tease those two old bats downstairs.”

Misato raised and eye brow and told her to tone it down a bit before the rumor got too carried away.

“Ok mom” Asuka replied “But can I bring her to school one of these days and show her off?”

“Well see” Misato answered. She then made a mental note in her head to call the principle and have that kind of thing be against the rules. She loved that Asuka and Shinji were so comfortable around Mikomi but it was also starting to scare her. She let out a sigh while eating and said “Remember your promise to me.”

Asuka looked up from her plate “A promise is a promise.” That made Misato feel a little better.

 

Little Break

 

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday passed by very quickly and before everyone knew it, it was Monday and time to go back to school or work once again. The kids were going to be seniors and with the news that real teachers were going to be there Hikari told them the class size would be larger. Many parents in the surrounding areas that wanted a real education for their kids took advantage of the open enrolment option of public schools. So the teens decided to leave early to make sure they would get their desired seats. Kaji left at his usual early time as well as he needed to get back to work. Johnson had done a great job in his place but according to the Magi's computations a Nerv Outsource Security Agency would be quite profitable and he needed to be there for the set up. Misato went in at her normal time and dropped off Mikomi at the daycare center. She had much catching up to do, and many people were looking for her as they had ideas or wanted to know the status of their projects. Nerv was very quickly changing from a relic government organization to a corporation intent on being multi faceted in many areas of the world's economy. Both Kaji and Misato were very busy throughout the whole day, but not too busy for both of them to drop by and check on Mikomi a couple times each.

 

The kids got to school early so they could get seats by one another, as last years arrangement of them partially scattered around the room was no longer acceptable. With their seats picked they patiently waited for the others to show up. Hikari had told them that along with a new teacher there was going to be ten new students as well, so the first day would be basically a meet and greet session. The new teacher was the first to arrive and was surprised to see six of his students already seated in the room. It was plainly obvious to him that this was one of many cliques of friends in his classroom. For now he would let them be together as if they didn't cause any problems he wasn't going to split them up.

It was obvious to the kids he was very different from the previous teachers they have had. First he was a lot younger, most likely in his early thirties. He was tall and looked a bit like a younger version of Fuyutsuki. And he was a real teacher as he put a diploma up on his wall. He walked up to the kids, sat down on one of the desks, and introduced himself. The kids each got up, bowed respectfully, and introduced themselves. The teacher looked at his list of students and noticed stars next to each of the kid names as they said them.

With a smirk he said “According to my notes, you six seem to have a reputation for odd things happening around you.” The kids smiled back, as technically it was true. He then went through his individual notes on each of them to make sure they were accurate and he knew what he was up against.

He started with Hikari “You are the Class Rep, and according to my notes a very exemplary one at that. Also your grades are top notch, you have a spotless record, and you are well respected by your peers. The only oddity I see is that you frequently change the cleaning schedule on short notice.”

Hikari laughed a little and said “I sometimes use cleaning as a way to discipline students who get out of line.” He found this an acceptable answer, but wondered why she laughed. Probably better if he didn't know though.

He moved onto Touji “A good student with average grades and no demerits as well. But I notice that even though you are the star of the baseball team, you have repeatedly turned down the role of captain. Why is that?”

“It would take too much time away from what really mattered to me” Touji answered “And the baseball coach doesn't seem to know that it's just a game.” He reached over and held Hikari's hand to make sure the teacher was clear on what he was saying.

The teacher agreed with him as when he was in high school he had a basketball coach who thought the exact same way, and he resented it as well.

He moved onto Rei “You are a good student with above average grades, a pretty clean record, and as I flipped through a portfolio of some of your artwork I could tell you are a very talented artist. Rei was a little embarrassed by the last comment. She was still not used to people outside of her friends and family complimenting or even seeing her artwork.

The teacher then went over Kensuke's record. “Also a good student with above average grades and a pretty clean record. But I also have a note that you are the computer guru in this school, or would a better term be hacker?”

Kensuke responded “Not as much anymore, I have something much better to spend my time on now.” Rei smiled as he said that. The teacher noticed this and laughed.

He moved onto to Asuka. “You are the top student in the school but you, along with Mr. Ikari, seem to be trying to set a new record in demerits for Public Displays of Affection.” Asuka smiled greatly at this and leaned over and gave Shinji a kiss on the cheek. He took this as his cue to move onto Shinji before something got started and she added to that number. “Okay Shinji, aside from the prementioned demerits, you are a relatively good student with slightly above average grades. So no real concerns for me.” He then put down his notes and looked at them all “I can pretty much guess you guys are the class leaders, and it is also very obvious who is dating who and judging by the jewelry you girls are wearing you're all in very serious relationships that go well beyond simple high school crushes. I don't really have any problems with any of that as I married my high school sweet heart. But there is something I do expect from you guys. I want you to give me a chance to prove I can teach before all the odd events start to happen.” The only person who had a problem with that was Asuka as she wanted to break in her new desk. But she supposed that could wait till later, she might as well give the guy a break because he seemed like a nice enough guy.

 

After the teacher finished talking with them some of the other students started to show up and the classroom slowly started to fill up as it got closer to the bell. When class began all the students were there and the teacher introduced himself. Then he had the ten new students introduce themselves. There were now six new boys and four new girls in the class. The teacher then had the rest of the class introduce themselves, partially for his sake as well as the new students. After introductions he let everyone socialize until lunch time. The other students in the class made sure the new ones knew just who was off limits and even told them the ponytail incident as proof of the consequences of doing something stupid. The six kids themselves were being very polite and nice to all the new classmates, but Asuka did find out that a certain rumor had already infiltrated the school so she was doing damage control along with her introductions.

 

At lunchtime the six of them were eating together when they noticed a group of sophomore girls all talking at once and looking at them while pushing one of the girls in the group towards them. The girl walked towards them slowly while also looking back at her friends who just kept urging her to “Ask her.” As she got closer Asuka could tell she was heading towards her.

“Don't worry” she told her “I won't bite.” Touji quickly tried to counter that, but Hikari put her hand over his mouth to silence him.

Finally she walked up to Asuka. In a shy and slightly scared voice she asked “Miss Souryu, may I ask you a question?”

Asuka answered “Just call me Asuka, and yes you can.” The girls was a little hesitant, she had heard more than one rumor about the red head and most of them centered around her temper. She mumbled something, but Asuka couldn't hear it.

Asuka told her nicely “You're going to have to speak up.”

In a slightly more audible tone the girl asked “Does it hurt?”

Asuka answered skeptically as she was not sure what the girl was talking about “Does what hurt?”

The girl took a deep breath and said quickly “Having a baby, because one of girl's grandma said you did, and a couple others saw you in the park feeding one, and I saw you and Shinji pushing one in a stroller the other day.”

Asuka covered her face with one hand and mumbled “What did I do to deserve this?” but quickly added “Please don't answer that.” as she knew the others all had an answer and were about to say it. She looked at the girl and said plainly and clearly “I did not have a baby. That was just my little sister. Now go tell your friends that and also that they need to stop spreading that rumor.” As the girl walked back and told her friends what Asuka had said, Asuka shot them all a look that clearly emphasized that the last part of what she said better happen or else.

Hikari looked at her and said “Asuka stop scaring the sophomores.” So Asuka stopped and turned her attention towards Shinji.

“Stopping this rumor is going to be harder than I thought, and it is really starting to stress me out” she said to him in a pouty and sad voice. Shinji responded by giving her a neck and back message to help her relax. The others watched them closely as they knew this is exactly how odd things seem to start for those two. But the two of them behaved themselves. And also fed the rumor mill as Asuka let out a little moan when Shinji rubbed just the right spot on her back.

 

When they got back to class the teacher went over his lesson plan for the year and told the class he was going to give his only lecture on 2nd Impact. This was it “It happened, a lot of bad shit followed it. More bad shit happened some years later, but it is over so you can have fun now. And that's it.” The end of school bell then rang and the class rep said “Stand, Bow, Dismissed.”
