Breaking the Dam

She slammed Rei down against the floor, pinning her arms over her head. The agitated red-head panted heavily, having lost her temper once again at Rei being so unresponsive. Was it too much to ask to get the tiniest of smiles? Hell, she'd settle for a twitch at this point, she was so fed up of all her advances going unnoticed, or worse, being ignored. Rei stared up at her, her eyebrows slanting down just enough to show she wasn't happy about being held down.

"Let me up."

"Or what??" No response. This only made Asuka angrier. What was it going to take?

Minutes passed by, the two stared each other down, each waiting for the other to give up. It was Asuka who moved first. Rei assumed she was going to get off of her, and let out an inaudible sigh of relief. It wasn't until she'd felt lips pressed against hers that it registered. And it wasn't until she felt Asuka's hand sliding behind her head to hold it in place that she thought about pulling away. She froze, her eyes wide open, staring at the soft red strands of hair that dangled in front of her. She found herself admiring the way the light caught those strands, and she relaxed slightly.

Asuka took this as a sign of acceptance and slowly pushed her tongue forward. Her heart was pounding, she could hardly breathe. Her eyes closed and she gently massaged her tongue against Rei's. She didn't meet any resistance, but she wasn't being acknowledged either. It didn't matter, nothing did at this point. The dream she'd been playing in her head for so long was happening at this very moment. Nothing could ruin it, not even that damn girl's lack of participation.

She didn't know what it was about her that made her attractive. She was cold, but in an empty sort of way. Like she hadn't had anything to fill her with any emotion, just calculated facts and responses. Instead of being depressed, Asuka saw this as a challenge. Lord knows everyone else had tried their best to open Rei up. Nobody tried this approach, and she was the only one with enough balls to do it. She sighed softly, humming and pulling her closer. A shiver, she could have sworn she felt a shiver from beneath her. Tempted to pull away, to ask if Rei was okay, she felt a hand clutch her arm, holding her in place.

Rei felt something building up within her, as she clutched Asuka desperately. Like a dam on the verge of bursting, she whimpered as a tidal wave of emotion flooded her mind. She flung herself forward, wrapping her arms around Asuka's neck and clinging to her. For the first time she felt the need to express herself, she felt the need to let Asuka know exactly how she felt. She didn't know how, her mind was reeling. All she could do was thrust her tongue forward and moan softly in Asuka's arms.

Asuka was surprised at the sudden movement, and for a moment she panicked. Realizing what had happened, that Rei had finally let herself feel, Asuka held the Angel gently in her arms. Her heart had started fluttering at the idea, but she felt like she needed to tell Rei. She needed say, "I love you." For the first time, she would say it to someone and mean it.

Minutes seemed like hours, and finally it was only the need for oxygen that broke the two apart. Wondering why her eyes stung, Rei rubbed them with her palms. They were wet, she was crying. She saw a hand come down under her chin and tilt her head up, her eyes meeting Asuka's. "I love you.....thought you should know." She smirked and kissed Rei gently, wrapping her arms around her and laying them both down on the floor. They fell asleep seconds later, curled up in each others arms.
