Part 4

 

The next morning found Shinji in a some what turbulent mood for he knew that he would have to face Asuka sooner or later so with a stiff upper lips Shinji got dressed and made his way downstairs for breakfast with a heavy heart, once he reached the dinning room Shinji saw that Drake and Rei where sitting at the table as Misato was cooking up there breakfast and when Drake saw Shinji he smiled at him and Shinji could tell from that smile that Drake had a good trip last night.

 

" Misato where are the leftovers? " Shinji asked as he looked in the fridge for the apple juice and saw that the fridge was empty of the leftovers from last night's dinner, " Well last night someone made a complete pig of himself and ate them. " Misato said with a slightly huffy tone of voice and Shinji looked over to Drake and saw that he had a sheepish smile on his face.

" Sorry but what can I say I'm a growing boy. " Drake said as he took a drink of his coffee and Shinji just shook his head as he got the apple juice out of the fridge and went to get himself a glass.

 

Misato finished cooking up Rei's breakfast and put it on her plate and then began to cook up Shinji's breakfast when Gwen and Asuka came into the dinning room and the temperature dropped a few degrees as Gwen and Asuka saw Shinji and for a moment there was a tense silence as the two girls took there seats at the dinner table.

 

Misato turned to tell the children that they had a sync test after school and was stuck speechless as she saw the grave looks on Asuka, Gwen and Shinji's faces and gave them a questioning look and knew that life had just become more difficult for her and the children.

" Shinji what's with the glum face? " Misato asked as she served up Shinji his breakfast of scrabbled eggs and bacon, " Nothing Misato I didn't get much sleep last night. " Shinji lied as he began to dig into his breakfast and came to realized just how hungry he was.

Misato gave Shinji a nonplused look for she could tell that Shinji was lying to her as she watched him tear into his breakfast as if he had never eaten before and decided that she would talk to him later as she turned back to the stove to cook up the rest of the children's breakfasts.

* Damn it Shinji why must you hide your feelings for? * Misato thought to herself as she cracked a few eggs into the frying pan.

 

When Misato turned to give Shinji his breakfast she saw the slightly haunted look in Asuka's eyes and then she put two and two together and realized that the reason both she and Shinji where out of sorts was because they had a fight as she served Shinji his breakfast and she knew that she would have her work cut out for her in trying to patch things up between Shinji and Asuka.

 

Once breakfast was done Shinji went up to his room to get his school books and then he thought about how depressing school was for him and he took the pill bottle full of joints and Ritsuko's cat slighter and stuffed them into his pants pocket and made his way downstairs.

As they where being driven to school Shinji looked at the back of Asuka's head and was wondering what the hell he should do to get Asuka to talk to him for he knew that what ever caused Asuka to freak out in his room must have been something bad as he felt his heart go out to her, " Asuka about last night I-" Shinji started to say but was cut off as Asuka turned around to face him with a pissed off look on her face.

 

" Just keep away from me you fucking pervert or I'll rip your balls off and fed them to you! " Asuka snarled as she gave Shinji the look of death and all Shinji was sit there as he felt his heart brake as Asuka gave him one final glare and turned away from him.

 

Once they got to school Shinji was walking by himself as Asuka and Gwen walked ahead of him, Drake and Rei where walking behind him and they where talking to each other and he knew that he was on his own for awhile as they trooped into the classroom.

" Hey Shinji how are you doing? " Touji called as he and Kensuke walked over to him, " The same old same old. " Shinji said and his two friends could see that he was depressed about something and they began to ask him all sorts of questions in order to get to the root of there friend's depression.

" Is the demoness riding your ass again? " Kensuke asked as they looked over towards Asuka who was talking with Hikari and Gwen and Shinji just shrugged his shoulders as he sat down at his desk as Kensuke and Touji continued to ply him with questions.

 

" You should take a stand with the Red Menace, I can't see how you let her ride rough shod over you day in and day out. " Touji said as he tore his eyes away from Hikari who had looked over at him and blushed slightly.

" Well I did tell Asuka to fuck off last night. " Shinji said and watched as a shocked look appeared on Touji and Kensuke's faces, " Well that's a start at lest. " Kensuke said and as he got over his shock at Shinji's admission that he had finely worked up the back bone to tell Asuka off, " I wish I could have seen the look on her face when you told her off, that must have been a priceless look on her face. " Touji said with a gleeful tone of voice as the teacher walked into the classroom.

" Stand, bow, sit! " Hikari called out as the teacher stood behind his desk, once everyone had finished standing and bowing to him and then sat back down he turned and began to write on the blackboard, " Ok class can anyone tell me where we left off yesterday? " the teacher asked and Shinji knew that he was near his limit on how much of the hell of second impact created though out the world and let out a slight groan as the teacher waited for someone to answer his question.

 

* Damn it when will this shit ever end? * Shinji thought to himself as he felt the urge to put his head down on his desk and sleep though out the class went he remembered the pill bottle with his joints in it and smiled to himself as he raised his right hand, " Yes Mister Ikari. " the teacher said as he saw Shinji's raised hand, " Can I be excused I have really got to go to the bathroom! " Shinji said with mock pain in his voice as he put on a slightly constipated look on his face and just about jumped for joy as the teacher excused him and he quickly made his way out of the classroom.

 

Once Shinji reached the nearest boy's bathroom he quickly made his way into the nearest stall and sat down on the toilet and pulled out the pill bottle with his weed in it and fished out a joint.

" That's better. " Shinji said to himself as he lit up the joint in his mouth and took a huge drag from it and started to cough, " Damn I had better take it easy. " Shinji muttered as he forced himself to stop coughing and once he got his coughing under control he took another hit off of the joint and began to think about Asuka and how he was going to deal with her.

" What can I do to show her that I really do love her? " he thought to himself as he puffed away on the joint as his brain began to churn at the speed of light when it became crystal clear to him where he was going wrong with Asuka as he realized that she did not like the way he was always saying sorry for things that where beyond his control and his generally subservient attitude.

" I can change. " Shinji said to himself as he realized that he had to change and stop running away from everything that hurt him because being hurt was just a part of living.

 

Shinji took another toke off of the joint and he began to analyze himself and pin pointing his faults as the joint continued to burn then he took another hit off of the joint and by the time he was done the joint he realized that he had just wasted half of the class getting high.

* Fuck it! * Shinji thought to himself as he got up off the crapper trapper and threw the roach into the toilet and flushed it, when he walked out of the stall Shinji saw that there where a few boys in the washroom and knew that he was busted big time for the whole washroom reeked of pot and Shinji smiled as he walked past the boys who where giving him a fish eyed stare and Shinji could not help but to laugh as he walked out of the washroom.

 

" Mister Ikari you where gone for a long time. " the teacher said as Shinji walked into the classroom and flushed slightly as the eyes of the students in his class where looking right at him.

" I think I ate something that did not agree with me, sorry. " Shinji said with a sheepish look on his face and sat down at his desk as the teacher was giving him a stern look, " Would you like to see the school nurse?" the teacher asked and Shinji thought about cutting the rest of his class and realized that would not be too cool, " No I think I'll be alright for now. " Shinji said as he smiled at the teacher and the rest of the students that where watching him just about shit themselves at the sight of a smile on Shinji's face for it was well known though out the school that Shinji was the most depressed student in the whole school so it was quite the shock to see him sitting there smiling like a loon.

 

After the teacher got back to teaching the day's lesson both Touji and Kensuke where curious as to the startling change in Shinji's over all demeaner and sent him a few messages on the classroom computers and Shinji ignored them as he found himself in the middle of a pleasant daydream about Asuka and a few cans of whipped cream and when Shinji saw Asuka look over at him with a questioning look on her face Shinji felt his face turn a bright red and when Asuka saw him blush she looked away from him with a scowl on her face.

 

* What the fuck is the pervert thinking? * Asuka thought to herself as she forced herself to keep from looking at Shinji for she knew from that blush on his face that he had been thinking of something perverted and as much as Asuka was disgusted with the thought of Shinji thinking perverted things about her she could not help but to smile slightly for it was a bit of an ego stroke to know that at lest someone found her sexually attractive and she looked out of the corner of her eyes and saw the stupid smile on Shinji's face and she could also see the slightly glazed look in his eyes as he stared off into space, lost in his fantasies.

 

Asuka could not help but to look at Shinji's crotch and saw that there was a slight bulge in his pants and Asuka felt a stirring in his pussy and then she began to mentally kick her own ass for having lustful thoughts about Shinji the spineless pervert.

When the class ended Asuka was the first student out of her set and was making her way out of the classroom when she looked over at Shinji and just about had a heart attack as he winked at her with a leer on his face and she felt her face flush as she felt her clit twitch a few times and decided to put Shinji in his place but she came to a stop as Drake, Touji and Kensuke walked over to Shinji and she let out a slight snarl for she had no wish to get involved with the other three stooges and stormed out of the classroom as her twat was burning with desire.

 

By the time lunch rolled around Asuka managed to put a damper on her horniness and made her way to the table where Gwen and Hikari where sitting and once she sat down beside them she began to dig into her lunch with a slightly pissed off look on her face.

" Asuka was wrong? " Hikari asked as she picked at her lunch and she knew form that pissed off look on her face that Asuka was having a problem at home and it did not take a rocket scientist to figure out that the root of her friend's anger was Shinji.

" I really don't want to talk about it. " Asuka said as he continued to demolish her lunch and Hikari was about to push Asuka for an answer but when she saw Gwen shaking her head Hikari knew that what ever had pissed Asuka off was something really bad and for a moment she considered pushing Asuka for the answer but something in the back of her mind told to let this sleeping dog lay where it was.

 

Gwen was about to say something to Hikari when Rei walked over to there table, " May I join you? " Rei asked and the three girls where struck speechless for a few seconds for Rei had never asked anyone if she could join them for lunch, Hikari was the first to recover from her shock, " Umm sure Rei, it's nice to see you socializing. " Hikari said and watched as Rei took a seat beside her while Gwen and Asuka just sat there with an unsure look on there faces as Rei began to eat her lunch.

" Have any of you noticed that Shinji is acting strangely as of late? " Rei asked the others who where shocked once more by the fact that Rei was actually trying to have a conversation with them.

Gwen looked at Asuka and saw the blank look on her face and knew that Shinji was a sore topic with her and was about to tell Rei to drop the matter but was cut off by Hikari.

" Will you look at that. " Hikari said as she watched Shinji sit with Touji, Kensuke and Drake with a tray loaded down with a heaping pile of food.

 

" What a pig! " Asuka snarled as she looked over to the table where the four stooges where sitting and she was shocked by the amount of food that Shinji had on his tray for she had always know that Shinji was a light eater but seeing him with a pile of food on his tray that rivaled the pile of food on Touji's tray and she could not help but to wonder what was going on with Shinji as she and the other girls watched as Shinji began to wolf down his lunch as if it was his last meal on earth.

 

" Holy shit do you have a tape worm or something? " Touji asked with a surprised voice as he watched Shinji tear into the heaping pile of food on his tray, a pile of food that made his lunch look like a small snack and watched as Shinji waved him off as he continued to rip into his lunch like a vacuum cleaner.

Drake just smiled to himself for he knew that Shinji was higher then a kite into a tornado for he knew that such a radical departure from his normal lunchtime habit was due to the fact that Shinji had the munchies big time and also the fact that he was to busy shoveling food into his mouth at the speed of light was fair indicator that something was amiss with him.

When Touji saw that no answer to his question was forthcoming from Shinji he shook his head and began to dig into his own lunch as his stomach growled at him and Kensuke let out a small laugh for seeing Shinji and Touji sitting side by side and eating with such abandon one might have mistaken them to be brothers or at there very lest that they where engaged in an eating contest.

 

Drake began to dig into his own lunch when he looked over at the table where Asuka, Gwen and Hikari usual sat at juring lunch and was surprised to see that Rei was sitting with them, " Hey guys check it out. " he said and watched as Shinji and Touji stopped stuffing there faces and look over to the table where the girls where sitting and they both smiled as they watched with surprise at the sight of Rei sitting with them.

" Why do you think Rei is sitting with them for? " Kensuke asked as he scooped some beef and rice into his mouth, " I have no idea. " Shinji said before he began to rip into his lunch once more as Touji leered at Hikari and chuckled to himself as she looked away from him with a blush on her face.

 

" Hey guys I have an idea. " Shinji said after inhaling a pork bun and watched as his friends gave him a questioning look, " Why don't we go and sit with the girls? " Shinji said as he finished off the bowl of beef and shrimp soup and watched as his friends gave him a * Are you cracked? * look and he laughed at them.

" Why the hell not it'll be a blast! " Shinji said with a leer on his face and a sappy tone of voice that had Touji and Kensuke wondering if Shinji was on drugs or something, " I think that's a fine idea. " Drake said as he got up from his seat with his lunch tray in hand and Touji and Kensuke shrugged there shoulders and decided to follow Shinji and Drake over to the girl's table.

 

Misato was folding some Shinji's laundry and she let out a small curse, it was her day off and she knew she should be sitting back and relaxing but as much as she just wanted to drink beer and goof off she knew that the kids would be pissed off at her for shirking her chores.

" Well at lest Shinji does not have to much laundry to put away. " Misato thought to herself as she took Shinji's folded laundry and began to make her way up to his room, " I wonder what has Asuka and Shinji so bent out of shape? " Misato said to herself as she walked into Shinji's bedroom and came to a stop for something was amiss.

" What the hell is that odor? " Misato wondered for it was a very faint odor in the air of Shinji's room and she could not for the life of her place the odor even though Misato could have sworn that she had smelled that odor before but try as she might she could not place it, so with a shrug of her shoulders Misato began to put away Shinji's laundry but there was a nagging in the back of her mind over the strange odor as she finished up with the laundry and made her way downstairs for a much needed beer.

 

" What the hell? " Asuka said as she, Rei, Gwen and Hikari watched as the four stooges sat down at there table, Drake cross from Rei, Shinji in front of Asuka, Kensuke across from Gwen and Touji in front of Hikari.

" Hi girls how are you doing? " Shinji said with a cheesy smile on his face and a cheerful tone of voice that took the girls by surprise

Rei and Hikari looked at Shinji with mild surprise as his cheerfulness and told him that they where doing fine, Gwen and Asuka just sat there picking at there lunches and hoping that by ignoring Shinji and the others that they would take the hint that they where not wanted at the table and leave.

 

However it was Drake that who managed to get Gwen and Asuka talking when he asked them why they where giving them the silent treatment, " The reason we're ignoring you is so that you will take the hint and leave but I can see that you are too thick headed to get the hint! " Asuka snarled and the girls saw a slightly hurt look on Shinji's face, Drake was just shaking his head, Touji looked like he wanted to belt Asuka in the chops and Kensuke had a neutral look on his face.

" Come on Asuka there's no need to be like that. " Shinji said as he continued to eat his lunch like the food was going out of style and Asuka felt the growing urge to kick his and the rest of the boy's asses but she held her tongue as she settled for giving the four stooges the look of death that seemed to have no effect on them and that only served to piss her off all the more.

 

Rei looked at Drake and saw that he had a slight smile on his face and from that smile Rei got the sneaking suspicion that Drake knew why Shinji was acting in such a strange manor and she made a mental note to have a talk with Drake as soon as it was humanly possible and went back to eating her lunch and she would occasionally look at Drake and every time she did he would smile at her.

Kensuke was looking at Gwen and he could see a slight look of anger in her eyes and he thought that she was angry at him and his mind began to think of ways he could allay her anger and try to get into her good graces but Kensuke being Kensuke had no clue as how to related to a member of the opposite sex, at lest not in a non perverted away so he settled for eating his lunch and occasionally ogle Gwen who gave him a fishy look.

 

Touji was looking at Hikari and every time they made eye contact Hikari would look away from him with a slight blush and would resume eating her lunch.

* What's the deal with the class rep? * Touji thought to himself as he began to daydream about Hikari in a highly perverted manor and as much as he wanted to act on his growing feelings for her he had no idea on what to say to her to find out of she liked him or not, not without making a complete jackass of himself and that was the last thing he wanted to do for he knew that if he said anything Asuka would be all over him like white on rice and he did not want to have to deal with her bitchyness.

 

Shinji was watching Asuka as she ate her lunch and when they made eye contact he would smile at her and she would look away from him with a disgusted look and that made Shinji feel like a heel for some odd reason and he decided not to rock the boat with Asuka for the time being so he went back to eating his large lunch and there was a tense silence at the table that did not last to long for the bell that signaled the end of the lunch period rang and Asuka was the first to leave the table, Gwen followed her a few seconds later and then Rei and Hikari left the table as Shinji and Touji where stuffing the last of there lunch down there throats as Kensuke and Drake went to put there lunch trays away.

When Shinji and Touji finished off as much of there lunch as they thought they could get away with they too put the lunch trays away and made there way to there next class.

 

When the school day ended Asuka, Gwen, Rei and Hikari where standing out front of the school talk to each other while Shinji, Drake, Kensuke and Touji where talking standing a few feet away talk among themselves when Misato pulled up in the mini-van/suv.

Asuka, Rei and Gwen said there goodbyes as did the boys and they piled into the mini-van/suv and Misato could see that the tension between Asuka and Shinji was still there and she made a mental note to take the two of them aside and get to the bottom of what was going on between them.

" Ok kids you have a sync test so I don't want to any complaints about it. " Misato said as she pulled away from the front of the school and the children let out a groan of dismay for they had been looking forward to relaxing at home after a fairly boring day at school, not to mention that they had an ass load of homework to do.

 

Shinji knew that there was no way to get out of the sync tests and realized that this was not as bad as it seemed for he was certain that Ritsuko would want to speak to him about his THC therapy and he took a moment to consider how the therapy was affecting him.

* Well I have a lot more confidence, I mean I would have never told Asuka that I love her if it was not for this therapy so all in all this therapy is a good thing. * Shinji thought to himself as they made there way towards Nerv and he began to wonder how the THC therapy was going to effect his sync ratio when Drake looked over to him with a smile on his face.

 

" Shinji I have noticed that there seems to be something going on between you and Asuka and I was hoping you would clue me in on what's going on between you two. " Drake said and watched as Shinji blushed slightly.

" I'll tell you about it later. " Shinji said to Drake who smiled all the more, " Ok bud I'll hold you to that. " he said to Shinji and then the two of them sat back and did there best to relax as Misato continued to drive towards Nerv, little did they know that Asuka, Gwen and Rei had overheard them and both Gwen and Asuka began to think dire thoughts about beating Shinji's ass into the ground for spilling the beans about what he had happened between him and her, Rei on the other hand was damn curious as to what the two boys would be talking about and decided to wait until they had talked to one another before trying to pry the details of the there conversation from Drake.

 

Half an hour later they arrived at Nerv and as they where making there way towards the locker/shower room they where met by Ritsuko who had a slight smile on her face.

" Good day children I trust you are ready for the tests? " she said and watched as Asuka and Gwen glared at her while Rei had her usual non-pulsed look while Drake had a * Whatever * look on his face while Shinji had a smile on his face that told her that the THC therapy was having a positive effect on Shinji.

 

" Before we began the tests I want to speak to you in my office Shinji. " she said and watched as Shinji smiled a bit more as he nodded his head, " Ok Ritsuko that's cool with me and besides I want to talk to you as well. " Shinji said and once he was done speaking he and Ritsuko made there way to her office while the others made there way to the locker/shower room.

 

Once they reached her office Ritsuko told Shinji to have a seat as she closed the door to her office and took a seat at her desk.

" Ok Shinji I want to know who the THC therapy has effected you, don't hold anything back ok? " she said and watched as Shinji relaxed in his seat with a smile that she found to be so cute.

" Well Ritsuko ever since I started this therapy I have noticed that I'm happier then I was before I started the therapy and took your advice and stood up to Asuka. " Shinji said as he watched Ritsuko who had a questioning look on her face and from that look he knew that she wanted to know what exactly had taken place between him and Asuka.

" Well Asuka was complaining about the take out that we had for dinner because we did not get back from Nerv until late in the night because of the time I spend in your office when I started the therapy. " Shinji said and saw that Ritsuko was listening to his every word with rapt interest.

" Do go on. " Ritsuko said as she lit up a smoke.

 

Shinji smiled slight as he recalled the confrontation between him and Asuka that night, " Well she was bitching about the take out and then she started to get on my case about so I told her to fuck off. " Shinji said and he watched as Ritsuko smiled and added, " You should have seen the look on her face, it was priceless! " and Ritsuko could not but help to chuckle at that, " So what else happened? " she asked and watched as Shinji blushed slightly.

" Well later on that night I brought Asuka to my room- " Ritsuko's interest in what was going on with Shinji went up another notch for she would never guessed that Shinji would be so bold to bring a girl to his bedroom let alone Asuka "- and I told her I loved her and she kind of freaked out. " Shinji said and Ritsuko could see the hurt and confusion in the young boy's eyes.

Ritsuko let out a sigh, even though she had made some progress with Shinji she knew she had a long way to go in order to give him a chance at a so called normal life.

 

" Shinji I thing the best thing you can do now is give Asuka her space, she sees you in a new light, you have given her a lot to think about and she's going to need time to deal with this and she has problems of her own to deal with. "

Ritsuko said and saw the forlorn look on Shinji's face and quickly added, " As much as it pains you to see Asuka hurting like this it's time for her to face up to her problems and deal with this, she has reached a point in her life where she must stand alone and deal with her problems. "

 

Shinji looked at Ritsuko and knew that she was right but still Shinji could not help but to feel that he could do more to help Asuka.

" Ritsuko I know she hurting and hurting badly but I just can't help it I feel I have to be at her side. " Shinji said and Ritsuko knew that Shinji was in danger of over compensating his love for Asuka and end up smothering her.

" Shinji listen to me if you keep rushing to her aid every time she has a problem you're going to end up smothering here and she push you away so listen to me when I tell you to give Asuka her space! " Ritsuko said in a firm but kind voice and Shinji thought about what Ritsuko was telling him and he knew that he had to let Asuka sort it all out on her own.

 

" Ok Ritsuko I'll give her the space she needs. " Shinji said and watched as the faux blond smiled at him.

" You a good man Shinji. " she said as she reached out and playfully tussled Shinji's hair that earned her a surprised and somewhat outraged look from Shinji.

 

" Shinji are you stoned right now? " Ritsuko asked and Shinji told her that he was not high at the moment and when he told her that he had blew away a joint at school Ritsuko could not help cracking a smile.

" Ok Shinji that's good but be careful when you took at school, right now I want you to have a few tokes, I'm curious to see if being under the influence of the THC will boost your sync ratio. " she said and watched as Shinji gave her a smile as he pulled out the pill bottle and fished out a joint.

 

When Ritsuko saw Shinji light the joint with her cat lighter she turned away from him and reached into her desk for the zipo lighter that she had got for Shinji as a gift and turned back to face him with the box in her hand.

" Shinji I got you this little gift, it's a lighter so can I have my cat lighter back. " Ritsuko said as she held out the box to Shinji who was puffing away on the joint.

" Thanks Ritsuko. " Shinji said with a happy smile and held out the joint to Ritsuko who smiled at him and took the joint from Shinji and began to take a few tokes from it as Shinji took the box from Ritsuko and opened it up to reveal a metal lighter with a white enamel covering on it.

 

Shinji took the lighter from the box and began to look it over and saw that the metal of the lighter was copper or copper plating, the with enamel that was over the body of the lighter had an engraving in black of a mountain with a small Shinto temple on the mountainside with a bird fly over head.

 

" Wow this is nice, thanks Ritsuko! " Shinji beamed happily as she handed the joint back to him and Ritsuko could not help but to smile all the more at the sight of Shinji's broadly smiling face as he flicked the lid of the zipo lighter open and flicked the wheel and watched as the lighter flamed to life.

" I hope you like it. " Ritsuko said as she watched Shinji flip the lid of the zipo lighter closed, snuffing out the flame as he took a few more tokes from the joint and then held it out for Ritsuko, " I like it a lot that was nice of you, thank you. " Shinji said as he looked in the box where the lighter was in and saw a can of lighter fluid and a small plastic box with flints in them.

 

Ritsuko took another toke from the joint as Shinji put the zipo lighter back into the box and close it up, once that was done Ritsuko passed the joint back to Shinji who handed Ritsuko her cat lighter and for the next five minutes the two of them sat in her office toking away on the joint.

 

Once the joint was done the two of them made there way back to the control room where the other children and Misato where waiting for the.

" Well you sure took your sweet time, do you have any idea on how long I've been waiting to get this stupid sync test over with! " Asuka snarled at Shinji who just looked at her as if she was naked from the waist down and was showing that she was a she-male, Ritsuko on the other hand was damn curious to see how Shinji was going to handle the ranting Asuka and wait for Shinji to speak with a small smile on her lips.

 

After shaking the mental image of Asuka being a he-she he gave her a cold look.

" Asuka shut the fuck up!, I had things to talk about with Ritsuko and that is that, I won't be complaining if it was you who had to talk to Ritsuko because unlike you I understand the fact that I should be considerate of other people's needs. " Shinji said with a slight annoyed tone of voice that made Asuka feel like she was a little girl being scolded as she stood there in utter shock at Shinji's words, Gwen was shocked for a moment but she got over her shock and was about to tear a Shinji a new asshole but was cut off by Shinji.

" Gwen stay out of it, this is between me and Asuka! " Shinji said with a stronger and firm tone of voice that surprised everyone in the control room as Maya, Shigeru and Makoto sat there with there jaws on the floor as the display of Shinji's inner strength as well as balls.

 

Misato stood there with a guarded look on her face as she watched Shinji verbally steamroller over the two girls and she could not help but to be proud of Shinji for not only was he standing up for himself but he was do so in a mature way, Rei was watching Shinji with surprise for the way he was acting was so out of the norm for him and she could not help but wonder what was going on with Shinji when she looked over at Drake and saw that he was standing there with his arms crossed over his chest with a huge smile on his face and she could see the look of savage enjoyment in his eyes.

 

Ritsuko decided to put an end to this bickering as she smiled broadly at Shinji display of manliness.

" Ok that's enough you two, standing there and arguing will not get the tests done any faster, so go and get changed. " she said as she watched Shinji stare down both Asuka and Gwen with a smirk on his face and a hard look in his eyes, Asuka was unsure as what to do not that Shinji was taking a stand with her and Gwen and decided that she did not want to deal with Shinji at the moment and quickly turned away from him and made her way to the girl's shower/locker room with Gwen and Rei following her, Drake let out a chuckle as he gave Shinji a smile that told Shinji that Drake approved of his actions towards Asuka and Gwen and that boosted his confidence immensely as they made there way to the boy's shower/locker room.

 

"Well this is a pleasant turn of events, won't you say? " Ritsuko said to Misato who let out a chuckle, " I don't know what's gotten into Shinji but I like it I hope that he continues to act like this. " Misato said as she and Ritsuko turned to the others who had gotten over there shock at Shinji boldness and got ready for the sync tests.

 

In the girl's shower/locker room Asuka was swearing up a storm as Gwen kept her peace, Rei on the other hand was starting to get annoyed at Asuka's ranting and decided to do something about as she finished changing into her plug suit.

" Asuka that's enough!, after all the times you have verbally and physically assaulted Shinji you should have known that he was going to reach his limit with you. " Rei said in a strong and raised tone of voice that cut Asuka off in mid rant and caused Gwen to look at her with surprise.

Asuka was pissed at not only having been kept waiting in the control room but having Shinji giving her an ear full was bad enough but Rei giving her grief was just to much for her to deal with at the moment as she stood there looking at Rei with a shocked look on her face.

 

Rei stood there and waited for Asuka to say something and decided that if Asuka was going to give her trouble she would give it right back as her own lingering annoyance at all the times Asuka had called her wondergirl or put her down came to the forefront of her mind.

" WHAT THE FUCK!, FUCK YOU REI! " Asuka snarled as she stood nose to nose with Rei who was starting to get angry at Asuka getting up into her face.

" Back off Asuka, Shinji is the most considerate man I have ever met, think of all times he had done everything to be nice to you, why do you think he did that for, he did it because he cares about you, but you are so full of yourself that you are to damn blind to see that! " Rei said with a low snarl in her voice as she gave Asuka a deadly look that made Asuka reconsider her actions towards Rei for she had never seen this side of Rei before and she was unsure on how to deal with it.

 

Rei gave Asuka an extra hard look then turned away from the dumb struck Asuka and made her way out of the girl's shower/locker room leaving Asuka standing there with a head full of thoughts that she was unsure of for she knew that Rei was right and she decided that she had a lot of thinking to do as she quickly changed into her plug suit as Gwen changed into her's.

Once the two girls where changed they both left the girl's shower/locker room and as much as Gwen wanted to say something she could tell from the thoughtful look on Asuka's face that it would be a wise idea to keep quiet.

 

In the boy's shower/locker room Drake was smiling for he could tell that Shinji was stoned out of his tree and found that he liked Shinji when he was stoned and he knew it would be a good idea to encourage Shinji willingness to stand up from himself.

" Way to Shinster I'm glad that you are taking a stand with her as well as standing up for yourself in general." Drake said as he began to get undressed and watched as Shinji blushed slightly as he do began to get undressed, " Well what can I say she had it coming to her. " Shinji said as he began to change into his plug suit.

Drake stopped changing for a moment and gave Shinji a thoughtful look, " Shinji I know you're stoned right now, not that I'm knocking it you lucky bastard but you should try standing up for yourself when you not stoned. " Drake sat with an easy going smile as he resumed getting changed into his plug suit as Shinji just smiled at him, ' I understand what your saying and the reason I'm stoned right now is because Ritsuko wanted to see how I do at syncing while I'm stoned. " Shinji said as they made there way out of the boy's shower/locker room.

 

When Drake and Shinji entered the control room they saw the girls waiting for them and when Asuka saw them she snapped at them for she was still in a pissy mood.

" It's about time!, you both have been gone for so long it makes one wonder what you two where doing. " she said with cruel smirk and for moment neither Shinji nor Drake had anything to say to her then Drake decided he would put Asuka in her place.

" Your the reason any man would swear off of women, with your bitchy attitude who the would want you for a lover! " Drake said with a snarl and watched as Asuka gave him an evil look and Drake knew this was going to get real ugly real fast.

" Who the hell would want you for a lover you limp dicked asshole! " Asuka fired back with an evil look in her eyes that only made Drake laugh at her, Rei and Gwen stood there watching the fight with muted looks but Gwen was sure that Asuka was going to get the better of Drake but she wished Asuka would just shut her mouth as she look at Asuka and missed the deadly look that Rei was giving Asuka, a look that said the two of them would be having words at the way she had jumped all over both Shinji and Drake, that was bad enough but when Asuka began to give Drake grief that was the last straw.

 

" My dick would be limp at the thought of being stuck in that gaping pit you called you diseased pussy or that stretched out tub of lard that you call your ass tumor tits! " Drake fired back with as he watched Asuka's evil look faultier for a moment and Drake patted himself on the back at that sight but before Asuka could say anything back Shinji looked at him and called out in a strong tone of voice that got everyone's attention, " Drake that's enough! " and Drake could see the look of anger in his eyes and for a moment there was a tense silence in the air of the control room.

Drake looked at Shinji for a moment and knew that if it ever came down to a fight between them he could Kick's Shinji's ass ten times over and knowing that made Drake brush off any physical threat from Shinji but the anger in his eyes made stop and think for a moment for something in the back of his mind told him that there was something about this moment that he needed to be aware of and he studied Shinji for a moment.

 

Drake could see that Shinji was standing next to him and that while his body was tense his hands where not balled into fists as he looked into Shinji's eyes and saw that Shinji was really asking him with those angry eyes to shut up and leave Asuka alone.

 

* He's defending her even after he told her off, he's trying to show Asuka that he still cares for her even though they had a fight, I hope Asuka can see what he's doing for her. * Drake thought as he came to realize Shinji's actions for what they were and Drake respected Shinji enough that he was not going to ruin this moment for him.

 

" I think I made my point! " Drake said with tone of voice that told everyone in the control room that Drake was bowing to Shinji's wishes but doing so in a way so as not to lose face, something the Japanese could understand and respect, Asuka was about to say something when Rei got into her face.

" Asuka stop this shit right now, I will not have you bad mouthing Shinji and Drake-kun! " Rei said loudly as she stood right up in Asuka's face, her hands clenched into fists as she took up a stance ready to beat Asuka's ass into the ground.

" You just offered the wrong woman the wrong thing wonderslut! " Asuka snarled as she took up a stance with her hands clenched into fists and everyone could see that both girls where ready to beat each other senseless, Drake looked at Shinji and shock his head with an amused smile and gestured towards the two girls who where standing face to face waiting for one or the other to make a move, Shinji got the meaning of Drake gesture and follow him as he made his way towards the two girls.

 

" Rei that's enough! " Drake said as he stood in front of Rei with a hard looking face, Rei looked into his eyes and saw a look that just screamed for her to obey him, much like the commanding look of Gendo's but not nearly as intense and behind the look she could see kindness and she felt her heart flutter as she felt her pussy tingle and slowly stood down while giving Asuka a look that told her this was not over by a long shot.

 

" Damn it Asuka stand down!, I care about you and I will defend you but not at the expense of my friends! " Shinji said in a commanding tone of voice that cut though Asuka's rage and she could see the same scary look in his eyes that was a dead ringer for the same look that his father had and she felt herself wilt under that look as everyone in the control room just sat/stood there and watched as the show unfolded around them.

 

Ritsuko was proud of Shinji and to a lesser existent Drake for working though there differences and take command of the two raging girls, Misato just let out a groan as she wondered what god she pissed of this morning for having to deal with this shit.

Maya found this hole show to be better then a soap opera with all of the passions that the children where displaying and she could not help but to smile.

 

Makoto and Shigeru where grinning like idiots as they found the children's antics to be to funny for words but they where slightly disappointed that there was not going to be a cat fight between Rei and Asuka even

though they knew that both girls where very well trained in self defense thanks to there eva training that such a fight could quickly get out of hand and become a for real no holds bared fight between them, " Hey Makoto who do you think would win between these two? " Shigeru asked and Makoto leaned over and wipered " I think Asuka would beat Rei, she's got a belly full of fire. " Shigeru shook his head, " No way man Rei would wipe the floors with Asuka. " he said and Makoto asked him what made him so sure about that, " I hear that the commander personally trained Rei in her self defense classes. " Shigeru said and watched as Makoto blinked in surprise, " No way! " , Yes way! " Shigeru said and the two of them began to talk among themselves.

 

Asuka stood down as she looked away from Shinji's soul searing gaze and saw the look on Rei's face and got the message quite clearly and that suited her just fine but before she could say a words a voice called out from the door of the control room.

" What is going on here?, the commander wants to know why the test has not started yet. " Kozo said and watched as everyone in the control room just looked over at him with a * Oh shit! * look on there faces.
