I know I just updated a couple of days ago but memories inspired this one & I won't be able to sleep until it's done.
14 years ago today the Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down in the streets of LA moments after leaving a party promoting his second album `Life after Death'
Hope y'all like the first two `chapters' I did. At this rate it won't be too long until I revamp & finish my first story.
Now let's begin…

It was a haunting feeling just standing on the streets of Honolulu as the sun set. The wind was still on this day yet it still pierced the body down to the bones. The smells in the air that were normally sweet were strikingly bitter. The entire vibe of the day was one of sadness.
This was an all-too familiar feeling for Shigeru Aoba. He had lived in the city's Korea Town section nearly his entire life of 30 years. The only time he lived somewhere else was when he went to college at the University of Hawaii. He was used to crime being around him but lately it has been getting worse by the day. The coke and ice epidemic was completely out of control no matter what the cops did. He even thought about moving out of state but he loved his city too much to actually do it. Days like this however were giving the prospect of moving out more leeway.
He was the first one at the meeting place. It was no surprise since he lived down the block. Being alone gave him time to reflect on why he was here.
Yo turn this up in your whip
Cause Slaine and Statik Selektah on this shit
Push the seat back... and turn the system up
True story; pay attention to the details
"Think about the robbery... last week" - Wyclef
"Hey Young World, wanna hear a story?" - Jay-Z
"This is a tale, of lost innocence" - Jay-Z
"Stick up kids that's out for tax!" - Jay-Z
I live in these streets daily so when I write 'em you can picture these
stories supposedly were seperated by some six degrees
Whether youse as thick as thieves, junkies eatin Mickey D's
Cookin dope in a spoon, rollin up their frickin sleeves
Shigeru almost knew everyone in the neighborhood & he could tell who were going to turn out to be bad seeds. A couple of times surprises did pop out. Kensuke Aida was one of those rare surprises. He was a good kid who studied hard until he was a junior in high school. Then he hooked up with a couple of shady classmates that were from California. He got hooked on ice and moved up to coke soon after. He was able to graduate but his grades slipped enough to lose any prospect of a scholarship. The way he was using turned the young man into a shell of what he was. He eventually got kicked out of his parent's house once they discovered his stash. That left him with no one else but his new junkie friends.
Like Bobby with the burnt out eyes, bruised up veins
Lackluster charm, rotted arms, and used up game
Dopesick and stinkin old ladies at ATM's
With wrinkled skin for eyelids, threw punches and caved them in
When Kensuke went to live in Chinatown with his junkie friends his addiction got worse. With no steady flow of income he turned to crime to feed his growing habit. He started out mugging old ladies around Aloha Tower and taking the begging money from the homeless. Once he saw that it wasn't enough he moved up to breaking into cars for their stereos. Eventually he moved up with his friends to home invasions. At first they hit random houses grabbing whatever they could pawn. One day they clicked up with a dealer that had a better plan for getting money from committing home break ins.
They had bad habits, badder teens turned stickup kids
turned needle-shooters, turned erratic fiends
And now it seems Bobby's doin B&E, he's breakin and enterin
Takin what's temptin and hoppin fences 'til his ankles are bent again
The plan was simple, one big hit to live off for a while. The dealer knew of someone that lived in Waianae that had some money and coke stashed in his house. He had been to the house and had figured out the security code. The dealer told Kensuke & his friends that their target was going out for the weekend in Maui with his wife. That was their best shot to hit the place.
They moved quickly that night with the break in. The dealer told them where to find the coke and jewelry. Kensuke noticed that there was an X-Box in the living room & took a few games so he could sell them back to a GameStop later. Once they got out of the house they went to party. They swerved around in their car in Ala Moana while honking at the tourist girls trying to get their attention. They eventually got tired and stopped by one of the massage parlors to get release their sexual tensions. Once they came back to Chinatown the dealer told Kensuke to keep his mouth shut about the break in. Unfortunately Kensuke didn't take the advice and told every low life he knew about how he pulled a nice heist.
Race for the hotbox, stolen 'caine and X-Box
A couple games, a couple lames in the front seat swervin lanes
Flippin middle fingers at suburban dames
Driving by loose pussies, got wet filled with nerve is shamed
Back to Southie, hopped out the car
Then ran their mouths like the fuckin dope fiends they are
"I need loot, so I'm doin what I do" - 2Pac
"Junkies in the alley with the baseball bat" - Melle Mel
"He's coming up short cause he snorts coke, dope, nope" - Kool G. Rap
"I hope he don't get caught" - Kool G. Rap
Word about Kensuke's exploits eventually got into Shigeru's ear though the neighborhood grapevine. This worried him a lot. If he knew about the heist then the word had already spread to the entire criminal world in Oahu.
He was right in his suspicions. The man whose house Kensuke robbed turned out to be Mosi Seanoa, a Samoan Blood. This Samoan asked around and learned that the people that robbed him were bragging about it. He didn't learn much about who they were except one was named Kensuke, lived in Chinatown, was a young guy, & he wore glasses. Despite this limited information he was already planning his revenge.
Word on the street it spread to this kid named Ed
whose crib got robbed for X-Box, cocaine, and his bread
The block is always watchin, it's just the same as the feds
But the streets is always fast to put a name with a head
It's easier to kill a junkie when he lays in his bed
Unfortunate for Seanoa, Kensuke didn't have discipline with money. He wasted the cash he got from the heist on the hookers that walked the streets of Waikiki in two weeks. That drove him back to hitting random houses and cars on a nightly basis. He made a serious mistake this time in targeting military housing near Pearl Harbor. The cops quickly caught up with Kensuke and arrested him in the middle of a car break in. He was found with a couple of ounces of ice and a crack pipe in his possession.
But it's hard to find a snake when the skin he stays in is shed
And he leaves his corner, stays inside the Days Inn instead
Gets locked up in the Bay addin the days in his head
Seanoa didn't know about Kensuke's arrest when he decided to find him in Chinatown & kill him. He really was going to beat Kensuke to a bloody pulp at first but his wife told him that her jewelry that was taken in the heist were were passed down her grandma. That was enough to change his plans.
Ed rolled over to Southie with a knife like a faggot
Lookin for Bobby who committed the robbery he's tryin to stab it
He got a habit for murder he wanna kill him slow
He stole some shit out his wife's room he's gonna kill him yo
Three weeks after the heist Seanoa got his crew together and drove to Chinatown. They rode slow around the neighborhood but didn't arouse suspicion with the cops. One of his boys pointed that some young guy with glasses on was walking on the street they were on. They drove around until they got to the end of the street. The car stopped while they waited for the man to come closer. Seanoa grabbed the long shank he had with him and held it tight. Once the man was three stores away he got out of the car.
Seanoa walked slowly towards the man, then when they were arm's length apart he grabbed the man & stabbed him in the stomach.
“This is what you get for robbing me Kensuke!” Seanoa yelled out loud as he watched the man drop to the sidewalk. The man tried to say something but he was coughing up blood.
The car quickly drove up and Seanoa got in the back. The driver slammed his foot on the gas pedal & the car sped off. They didn't get too far before the cops tried to pull them over for speeding. They ditched the car and ran in different directions. It took 45 minutes for the whole crew to be rounded up.
A grey Infiniti rolls five-deep up our street
He holds the blade inside his hand tightly 'til their eyes meet
Before he stabbed him in the abdomen he screams the wrong name
Thought it was Bobby, he punctured his lungs with the long shank
Jumped into his whip, peddle to the floor with his friends
Thinkin justice is sweet when it ends with revenge
The entire episode played like a nightmare in Shigeru's mind.
It turned out that the man the Seanoa killed that night was Shigeru's best friend Makoto Hyuga. He was a community organizer who had been working to clean up the Honolulu streets block by block. He hated the drugs that were infecting his neighborhood and had just left a late meeting with small businesses on working out a neighborhood watch the night he was killed. Makoto was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It had a year now since his death and Shigeru was there to pay his respects. He picked up where Makoto left off and became a community activist. He was doing very well in cleaning up Chinatown.
Shigeru was taking it all in as he watched more people arrive. His parents & Makoto's parents were the first people to get there. They brought pictures showing Makoto working in the community. Then the kids that hung around the local community center and their counselors arrived. It took ten minutes before the pastor of the local church got there with candles. Soon the memorial started with a prayer.
Only problem is Bobby wasn't the dude screamin Jesus
bleedin in the street, it was Timmy with the same features
He worked for the Boys Club, no drugs, no thugs
Now he's slumped in the street chokin on his own blood
It's mistaken identity
While the memorial service was in full swing with Makoto's parents sharing memories of their son Shigeru noticed that a news van had arrived. He put out a press release about the memorial to all the media but didn't actually expect this type of response. At most he thought the memorial would be mentioned in the local section of the newspapers.
Shigeru smiled as he watched the female reporter get ready and the cameraman set up the shot for broadcast. He went back to the memorial when he saw the cameraman give the signal that they were shooting. Everyone at the memorial noticed that they were on TV and they stopped to listen to what the female reporter was saying.
“Tim I am at a memorial service for Makoto Hyuga. He was a community activist trying to clean up Honolulu's streets at this time last year when was killed on this very street by a gang member named Mosi Seanoa in a case on mistaken identity.”

Now you may be wondering why I used Hawaii as a setting for this one, well it's from experience. Hawaii does have a meth epidemic that has ravaged its community.
Hope y'all liked this one chapter. Review it if you want.
