Nightwalker Fan Fiction ❯ The Bells ❯ Blue Bells ( Chapter 5 )
Disclaimer: No, I don't own Cain and Shido or any of the other characters from Nightwalker, no matter how much the voice in my head sounds like Guni…
Warning: As in just about all the fan fiction I write, this fic contains YAOI, or Male/Male relationships that are, as always, incredibly graphic. To me, it's art, and therefore restricting it would be not only stupid, but futile as my muse would beat me into submission and scream for me to write it anyway…
Chapter Five: Blue Bells
Ken'ichi watched as his brother's chest rose and fell in his slumber. Their night had been rather uneventful, what with Shido's uncharacteristic moping about their spacious chambers, and Cain's constant warning for Ken'ichi to pay attention. The elder vampire had been trying to teach the younger blond how to use his new vampiric powers, but Ken's eyes couldn't keep from wandering back to his dark brother's lithe form.
He seemed so thin now, so small and frail compared to the powerful vampire that had once held a very human Ken in his arms. Was it because Ken was now a vampire? Or maybe, just maybe it was because Shido was now in the presence of one more powerful than he?

"More powerful than Shido?" Cain had seemed shocked by the question when Ken voiced it aloud.
"Is Tatsuhiko more powerful than I?" Ken asked openly and honestly.
"Well," Cain sighed, "I've yet to find a vampire more powerful than Shido--"
"I knew it!"
"BUT, Shido is still at a very distinct disadvantage in a real battle, despite power or strength," Cain warned.
"Disadvantage?" Ken asked.
"Ken'ichi, you must understand that the changes one undergoes when they become a vampire are completely natural. Our lust for life and blood, they make us what we are," Cain sighed with the passing of some long forgotten memory, "but Shido never accepted those changes, never took them to heart, and the human world…they have Shido convinced that the life he lives is wrong. That a life after death is nothing but an eternal punishment. In Shido's life, he is the very plague that he fought so hard to extinguish as a mortal. He will never be able to fight with his full power if he doubts his own ability to live."
"So, you've yet to meet a vampire of equal power to Tatsuhiko?"
"I may do many things, Ken'ichi, but I do NOT lie," Cain growled in warning.
"Is he stronger than you?"
There was no answer from his dark maker…

If only I could show him how far from a plague he really is, Ken'ichi thought as he walked over to the slumbering vampire. He lightly stroked away the fine lavender hair that blocked sleeping green eyes.
Shido shifted in his day sleep, his head lolling to the side gracefully as his hair fell away from a slender, almost woman-like throat, pale and slim save the Adam's apple that was barely pronounced enough to tell his sex.
Ken'ichi swallowed hard. IT was so tempting just to sink his fangs into that glorious neck and watch as Shido's eye flared to life in overwhelming rapture. To pierce into that lily-white skin and drink of the pulsing warm liquid life that ran just below the surface.
Shido groaned in the throes of some daylight nightmare, and it took all of Ken'ichi's strength to look away. His overactive imagination imagined that groan issued from lips almost as pale as skin but tinted pink and swollen from kisses. God, if he was this tempted now, how was he going to survive the day in the same bed with Shido. It was so much easier when he had actually shied away from his touch.
"It is not hard to imagine him in your grasp, is it, Ken'ichi?"
Ken gasped at the touch of a warm breath on his neck.
"Ma--master?" he stuttered.
"You see him, don't you? Writhing under you, calling out your name, as if it was the last word that he knows. Calling," he paused to lick the shell of Ken'ichi's ear, "pleading," he blew on the wetted area, "begging," his breath came down heavy, "screaming--"
"Please!" Ken'ichi hissed as he stood off of the bed, only to be greeted by the imposing form of his maker.
"You want him," Cain said impassively.
"Yes," Ken'ichi admitted.
"Then take him, you dolt," Cain replied.
"It's not as simple as that!" Ken'ichi growled as he looked down to the floor.
"You don't want to become another Akazawa Kaitou," Cain supplied.
"I just don't want to overwhelm Tatsuhiko," Ken'ichi explained, "I want him to want whatever happens between us. But the cravings…"
"Perhaps you would let me sate those cravings for the day, my little Ken'ichi?" Cain whispered into the younger vampire's ear.
Ken hadn't ever thought of…that, with Cain. He was his maker. But, in the alleyway, on that day, they were both creatures of need, of mindless pleasure.
Cain saw the recognition in his creation's eyes. "We are creatures of need Ken'ichi. We crave life, we crave lust. We crave the things that are taboo to the mortal world. We cannot help it. I cannot, Shido cannot, and you cannot. Let me satisfy your appetite tonight, my young creation…"
