Nightwalker Fan Fiction ❯ The Bells ❯ Bell Chimes- Part 2 ( Chapter 11 )
Disclaimer: No, I don't own Cain and Shido or any of the other characters from Nightwalker, no matter how much the voice in my head sounds like Guni…
Further Disclaimer: I myself (though half German by lineage) do not understand nor speak a lick of German. All of the translations within this fic were provided by an online dictionary. If they are wrong or I (more than likely) have screwed them up, I am VERY SORRY! Please be gentle, but feel free to correct me if you know otherwise. Please do not take my translations as fact!!!
Warning: As in just about all the fan fiction I write, this fic contains YAOI, or Male/Male relationships that are, as always, incredibly graphic. To me, it's art, and therefore restricting it would be not only stupid, but futile as my muse would beat me into submission and scream for me to write it anyway…
Chapter 11: Bell Chimes- Part 2
Shido winced as Ken'ichi lowered the still-injured vampire to the bed.
"I'm sorry," Ken apologized for what must have been the millionth time.
"It's not your fault," Shido groaned as he lay back on the soft pillows of their gigantic bed. "I--I should have thought things through before I acted I--"
"Don't you ever take that back Shido! What you did was brave and self-sacrificing and--!" the blond vampire started.
"And suicidal, Ken'ichi," Shido finished as the younger vampire's jaw hung open. "Ken'ichi, I don't know how to explain it, but the Cain you see now…he's nothing like the Cain that I used to know. Nothing like the Cain that created me. You--even though I love him, you're the one keeping me here. That promise I made you…it's all that is keeping me here." Shido sighed. "Please, please don't think that this is the life you want, Ken. Soon enough, you'll find out that it's just hell on earth."
"But…since you've returned, I mean, since you and Cain started…acting like mates again, he's changed. Maybe he just wanted to change--!"
"And maybe he's playing you for a fool, Ken!" Shido growled…and instantly regretted it. The look of pain in Ken's eyes made Shido look away, despite the pain it brought to his back. He felt the weight of the bed shift as Ken rose, and heard the doors of their chamber creek as they opened. He even heard Ken's whisper before he exited.
"Maybe. Maybe he is playing me for a fool, Tatsuhiko. But maybe, just maybe, I want to enjoy it while it lasts…"
Shido winced at the very words he had spoken about Riho and turned towards Ken to shout for him to stop, but was too late. His brother had already left, leaving Shido more alone than he had ever been before…

Erik clutched at his wine glass until the delicate cup shattered in his palm. He cursed. Then cursed again. Then cursed some more.
"I am very sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Master I--"
"Get out!" Erik bellowed at the lower vampire.
Instantly, he was gone, leaving Erik to sink down into the cushions of the couch in his master's chambers and stare at his bloody hand. How could he have messed up again? Stavros was going to either beat him senseless, or fuck him senseless, the latter of which he wouldn't have minded in the least if it weren't for it still sore posterior and healing back. And considering said injuries, his punishment would probably be the first on that list anyway.
He leaned back in the couch and closed his eyes…then jolted to full alertness when he felt something warms and wet run up the side of his neck. He turned his head to stare deep into his master's eyes, swimming with, of all things, amusement.
"But, Master, I--"
"Don't worry," Stavros cut him off as he slid further over onto the couch, nuzzling Erik's neck. "I knew your little pets would fail, Erik."
"Then," Erik swallowed. It was getting harder and harder to speak with Stavros' hand creeping up his thigh like it was. "Why?"
"Because this is bigger than you, Erik," Stavros scraped his teeth along tender skin. "And as long as you can't see the big picture, nobody else will either," Stavros finished, then sank his teeth deep into Erik's neck…

Cain stormed through the back halls of the castle, pushing and shoving through the vampires that blocked his way, earning many an annoyed comment until said vampires realized to whom they had spoken. How dare Everard treat me as if I'm a child again? Cain thought. And why the HELL did I let Ken'ichi of all people talk to me like that?
He came to a stop when the populace of vampires in the hall grew to nothing, and stared at the stone walls. He reared back a fist and slammed it into the stone, then looked back in shock at the hole he had punched in the wall.
It can't be! It can't be that potent yet! Not this soon! Cain looked to his fist…not a scratch on the flawless skin. Shido.

Ken'ichi looked at the double door in front of him and thought of heading back to their chambers as he lifted his hand to knock. Before he could even contemplate it, he knocked twice. Well, no turning back now. Ken'ichi was greeted by dark purple curls and jade eyes when the doors opened.
"I need to know what you meant when you said I was 'valuable,'" Ken'ichi blurted.
"Kleines?" Everard scratched his head briefly, but let the boy inside…

Shido sighed as he looked of the room's balcony window. Half formed memories floated in front of his eyes even as the events of this night taunted him. How could he have done that? He hadn't wanted to hurt Ken'ichi. God, that was the last thing he'd wanted to do, but he had to know the truth. He had to know that at any moment this life could be torn from him--
Shido tensed as he felt the bed sheet being slowly pulled down his form. He hissed when cool night air hit his wound, then moaned when liquid bliss flowed over the same spot. The a warming sensation flowed up his spine as what must have been vampire blood dripped onto the wound, slowly but surely sealing it shut.
"Turn over," the order came as a low whisper, and, despite the added strength that came with the relief of most of his pain, Shido still need help to roll onto his stomach.
"Cain?" he whispered, as if speaking his mate's name too loudly would break the spell that the elder vampire was casting over him.
Cain's tongue ran up Shido's spine, deftly avoiding the gash that throbbed in pain and, now, pleasure, effectively silencing the lavender haired vampire. The elder vampire pierced his tongue once more and let his blood flow over the wound, healing another small piece of it and making the younger man cry out ever so softly. Again and again he let the blood seep from the corners of his lips and dribble down his chin, or simply ran his tongue over the wound until the entire long gash had been sealed, and blood ran in tiny rivulets over Shido's back and sides.
Cain sat up, straddling Shido's backside and grinding his erection into the very aroused vampire's rear. He leaned down and breathed up Shido's neck when he heard him moan. "It's this what you want, my love?" He ground against him again. "Hm?" He could see the chords and muscles in Shido's neck tense as the younger vampire grit his teeth. "Need another reason, Shido?" Cain breathed. He lightly ran his nails over Shido's sides and hooked his thumbs in his pants.
Shido clutched at the bed sheets as Cain lifted him by his pants and ground against him in earnest now, varying his speed and strength until all Shido could do was guess and react with pure instinct.
Cain elongated one nail on his right hand, creating a razor sharp claw that he ran lightly down Shido's neck and back, never so much as even reddening the skin beneath it, and relished the mewl it drew from his less reluctant lover. He brought it down to the top of Shido's trousers and slit the heavy material as if it were tissue paper.
Shido shivered as he felt his pants cut away and squirmed as claws splayed over the sensitive skin of his buttocks.
Cain laid his head on the soft skin of Shido's backside as his claws ran down the lavender-haired vampire's quivering legs, then back up. He placed a kiss on either of Shido's pale cheeks, then ran his tongue up the crack of the younger vampire's backside, up his spine, and over his neck.
Shido cried out again, his erection pressed between his own body and the plush but unsatisfying sheets of the bed. "Cain."
"Shh, lovely," Cain crooned before running claws lightly down pale arms, then sheathing them. Confident that Shido's back has properly healed, he lay over the younger vampire and intertwined their fingers.
"But…" Shido moaned again when he felt Cain's weight shift, his lover reaching for something on the bed's headboard. He shivered when he felt a cool digit trail down his backside and gasped as it circled his puckered entrance. He stiffened a moment, but soon forced himself to relax. Shido kept his breathing steady "C--cai--ain," he strangled out.
"Mm…no…" Shido gasped again as teeth nibbled at his earlobe, "yes… but… Ken…"

"What bring you to my door so soon after your sire, kleines?" Everard asked as he and Ken settled down into a couple of chairs, albeit Everard a little more gingerly. Cain's nice little introduction between his backside and the floor was still fresh with him.
"I," Ken looked away as he contemplated his words carefully, "I want to know, that is, if you'd tell me, what you mean by my 'being valuable'?" Ken asked.
Everard's face hardened. "Forget I ever said it, kleines, it would be better that way." Everard made a motion to stand, but Ken waved him back down.
"Then at least tell me what is going on here!" Ken rushed out.
Everard sighed. "I think your first question might have been easier to explain than the second."
"Please, tell me why these things are happening. Tatsuhiko--Shido--Engel, I don't know what to call him anymore," Ken'ichi blurted, "He told me that this Cain, the one that sired me, isn't like the one that sired him. I never knew Cain before but from what Shido tells me, he…wasn't a very nice person. But I never knew him. What's different? Why has he changed? Is it because of me? Did I do something wrong?" Ken's eyes were pleading now.
"Kleines, you did nothing wrong," Everard sat again. "Shido's return has finally done something right."
"But…I don't understand," Ken'ichi replied.
"Of course you don't understand. Because none of us truly understand," Everard sighed, "but I will try to explain as much as I can. As much as I am allowed…"
