One Piece Fan Fiction ❯ Beloved ❯ Chapter 1

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Hey, guys. Well, this is my first One Piece fic, so no flames, just CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. I don't know everything yet, since I've only been hooked on it 2 months ago, so please be kind.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of One Piece. Eiichiro Oda does. Lucky him.
This fanfiction is made especially for my good friend, Carl, who has left me. One of the last conversations I've had with him was some thing like this:
Carl: "Hey, did you ever hear of One Piece?"
Me: "No."
Carl: "What? It's about pirates!"
“talking” /thinking/
Beloved
Chapter 01
The Straw Hat Pirates found a nice looking island called “Norica”, so they decided to take a break and do a little bit of relaxing. As they came to the dock, Luffy started to get impatient.
“C'mon! C'mon! C'mon! I wanna go NOW!” he cried, almost jumping into the water. Zoro held him tightly by the shirt.
“You idiot! You can't swim!”
“Hmmm…. OH YEAH!” Luffy said obliviously. Soon, they docked their ship.
“AHHH!” Luffy yelled delightfully as he and his crew got off their ship. Nami secured everything just in case if someone was going to steal her loot.
/Pshh! No one is going near my loot/ Nami thought as she remembered the time when the Black Cat Pirates led by the crazy hypnotist, Django, almost took her loot.
“C'mon, guys! Let's go into town!” Luffy yelled.
/FOOD! FOOD/
“You guys can go. I want to stay by the ship and sleep. Yawns” Zoro said, carelessly. He went back to ship and fell asleep on the deck.
“Aww….” Luffy made a pouty face.
“Just leave `im there, Luffy an' let's go! I wanna go meet some babes!” Sanji told him, with hearts in his eyes, “Don' worry, Nami! You'll still be numba one in my heart!”
“Lucky me.” Nami stated monotonously.
“Calm down, lover boy!” Usopp gave him a good wallop on the head.
“Hey! What you do that for, huh?” Sanji said angrily as he practically shouted a lecture to Usopp, but he wasn't listening.
/Geez, all he thinks about are girls, girls, and more girls! No wonder he can't even get a girlfriend, he's a playboy for cryin' out loud/ Usopp shook his head.
“Guys…SHUT UP!” Nami screeched. She hit Sanji and Usopp on the head.
“You guys are so immature! Leave Zoro cause then he can watch the ship!” she smiled.
/And my loot, too/
“Yeah, she's right. So, LET'S GO! HA HA!” Luffy cried as he ran for the town. Sanji and Usopp were right behind him.
“Oh well, I guess I'll leave you behind.” Nami smiled as she followed the trail of her companions. She looked around at her surroundings.
/Hmm, I never knew that this place was actually beautiful, I mean, seriously, the view is awesome/ Nami thought as she left the path and climbed a few rocks. She sat on a big hill, where she could see the sparkling ocean and the town ahead. She looked over and saw the town; It was pretty big. She also saw her fellow companions, Luffy, Sanji and Usopp, who looked little ants from where she was.
“Well, time to go and `babysit' the goofers.” Nami got up and climbed down the rocks as she headed into town following them.
-Roronoa Zoro-
Zoro was fast asleep on the deck dreaming about being the best swordsman in the world.
“Aah….snore swordsman….snore…..number one….” He said in his sleep. He was happy until….. his stomach growled.
“FOOOOODDDDDDD!” He woke up from his slumber, grabbed his three swords, and rushed out of the ship.
/Must…get…some…..NOW/ he heard his stomach growled even more. Faster, he went and the faster he could smell the good food. He ran into the closest restaurant he could find.
“Food…” he mumbled.
“Hey, Zoro!” Luffy waved at him as he gobbled down a pile of food. “See….munch munch I told you……he'd come!” Zoro sat next to Luffy and started gobbling down the food with him.
“Yay me. Now I gotta babysit them all.” She shook her head.
/What have I gotten myself into/ she sweat dropped.
-Sanji and Usopp-
“Where are you goin'?” Sanji asked Usopp.
“I'm going to a store to buy more ammo. You know, all that good stuff that I need.” He explained as he stepped into a hunting store.
“Whateva, I'm gonna go lookin for some girls!” Sanji smiled as he looked everywhere for some. Eventually he found some. They all rejected him.
/Why me! Is it cause of my eyebrows? Should I trim them/ Tears welled up in his eyes as he saw Usopp and hugged him immediately.
“USOPP! THEY ALL REJECTED MEEEEEE! WHYYYY!” he cried.
“Ok, ok. Hold on, Sanji. Calm down. Now, let's go and tell the others so that they could help your personal problems too, okay?” Usopp said gently.
/I can't wait to ditch him! I still need to do more of my weapon shopping/ he smirked as he dragged Sanji into the restaurant where the others were.
“Ahh! I feel better! So much!” Luffy smiled happily.
“Yeah! I know what you mean, Luff!” Zoro smiled at the other customers in the restaurant who were astonished to see how much they ate. “The food was great. Thanks!”
“Sure…Hehe….” The waiter faked a smile. Nami rolled her eyes as she knew that SHE had to pay AGAIN.
“Well, I can't blame them. I mean, I AM the one who steals pirates' treasure, “she mumbled. “So, how much is it?” The waiter looked at the bill and calculated it.
“Hmm…1 thousand berries.” He simply said.
“WHAT THE HELL?” Nami shrieked. She glared at Luffy and Zoro with her venomous eyes.
“You………” she started, but then started attacking them instead, until Usopp held her down.
“Calm down. Geez, I mean I don't think Zoro and Luffy meant to eat that much. They were probably just, uhmmm, well, hungry.” Usopp told her, calming her down, which it did in fact. Sanji couldn't help cause he was in a corner, sobbing.
“Gee, thanks Usopp. I needed some calming down. You're so awesome!” She hugged him and smiled, while Sanji got a teensy weensy jealous. OK, HE GOT REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLLY JEALOUS!
/Grrrr! He…better…get…his…hands….off…MY… NAMI/ Sanji started to overheat like a car that had no oil. Smoke came out of his ears and nose, and he felt like he was going to pound a certain someone. Well, actually, kick a certain someone.
“U….sopp!” he snarled. He got closer inch by inch at his victim.
“S-Sanjii! I-I didn't-t m-mean-it!” Usopp tried stopping him, but it did him no good. Then Nami stepped in.
“Sanji!” she yelled and he immediately stopped. “What are you doing? And what the hell is wrong with you?” she was furious at him.
“B-but….”
“---but nothing! Why would you think I'd be yours? Look, just don't bother me right now. I'm not feeling that well since I lost a lot of loot from a certain PIRATE and SWORDSMAN!” she put some emphasis on the words `pirate' and `swordsman'. Zoro and Luffy sweat dropped.
“Hehe…..sorry `bout that, Nami.” Luffy smiled, lightly.
“Yeah, ha ha, we didn't mean it. We were just hungry.”
“Uhh….it's ok guys. I just got a little, you know, surprised.” She rubbed her temples, taking a seat next to Sanji.
“So, what did you guys come here for? I thought you were out doing some shopping.” Zoro asked Sanji and Usopp.
“Oh, well I was doing some shopping. Until our lover boy got into some `personal' problems of his own.” He pointed at Sanji who was trying to get Nami to forgive him, which she did after he pleaded to her for, like, a gazillion times. Zoro smirked as he raised an eyebrow.
“Really? Is it the problem of tryin' to find a girlfriend?” he asked.
“Wow! How did you know?” Usopp asked him, astounded.
“Heh. Well, you know, cause I'm Roronoa Zoro!” he laughed proudly.
/Oh greattt…./ Usopp sweat dropped.
“Ok. Here, waiter. 1 thousand berries.” Nami sighed as she handed over the money. As the waiter got the money, she wouldn't let go. But she eventually did.
/MY PRECIOUS MONEY/ she cried hard.
“It's ok. Now, let's go look around town!” Usopp said as everyone left the restaurant and headed different directions.
“Bye, guys! See ya in a little bitt!” Luffy waved off as he ran through the town.
“I'll never get that kid.” Zoro chuckled as he browsed through stores of his interest. Sanji looked for women again and Usopp went back to the store he went before and bought his marksman stuff. He also browsed through other things too. Nami looked at interesting things on the island and went shopping for who-knows-what.
The bell ringed as a customer entered the store. The man turned around from his cleaning as he set eyes on a customer.
“Hello! Welcome!”
“Thanks.” She smiled. Yes, in fact a girl was the customer. She was merely a girl of age 17 with dark black hair. Her eyes were the brightest blue and her sword as sharp as glass, perhaps even sharper. The man set his eyes on the tattoo of an `X' with a line crossed through it on her upper right arm and the two piercing on the girl's left ear and one on the right.
“Can I help you with anything in particular?” the owner asked.
“Umm, not yet at least. I'll tell you, ok? For now, I'm just browsing.” She answered as she started looking through the scabbards and katanas.
“Sure.” The owner got back to his cleaning the counter as she looked.
/Hmmm…..I'm lookin' for a REALLY awesome sword. / Her eyes scanned through the room of swords and one caught her eye. She walked to it and handled it with care. She took it out of its sheath and marveled at its beauty. It was light, perfect for her.
“I wonder…” she looked at the sword and cut a slit on her left arm.
/Yup…it's perfect for slicin' and dicin'/ She put the sword back into the scabbard. She went up to the man as he was humming a tune.
“Umm….excuse me?” she tapped him gently on the shoulder. He turned around.
“Mmm…yes?”
“I'm ready to buy this.” She held the sword out to him. His face was in shock.
“T-That one?” he stuttered.
“Yeah.” She arched an eyebrow as she held he sword in his face. He screamed.
“What's wrong?” she asked.
“That sword is supposedly weird and mysterious.” he answered.
“Oh, well I really don't care. Besides I like it.” She answered. The man sighed as he told her the price.
“2 million berries.” He told her.
“Ok, then. Right here.” She handed the money to him as he took it.
“Good luck, young lady. That sword might bring you to your doom.”
“Don't worry. I've been in worse situations than this.” She winked as she left the store.
“Well, then. I guess it's true what they say. The sword chooses its master.” He smiled as he went back to humming and arranging his shop.
/What am I doing here/ Zoro asked himself as he was just wandering through town, like an idiot.
“Ugh..I feel like a moron.” He was just walking around when he caught sight of a nice looking sword.
“What was that?” he asked himself. He probably was hallucinating, but didn't feel like he was.
/I should go look for the others before I end up in someplace that I don't wanna be. / he looked at some of the girls who looked at him hungrily.
/Yeah, that sounds like a good idea/ and he was off.
“Man! 2 million berries just for you?” the girl talked to the sword as she sat down by a tree near the hill Nami looked out from. She gazed at the beauty of the blade. It was perfect.
/And they say you have curses/ she smirked. She got her other sword and took it out of its scabbard as well. This sword's scabbard was different though. It had a `Z' shape on its hilt.
“Cool! Now I got two!” she smiled proudly. She got a piece of strong rope and tied the two scabbards together forming an X. She also found some pieces of rope she needed to put around her so that it could hold the two swords on her back. After she was done, she set them aside and took off her blue bandanna, letting her ebony hair flow as she fell into a light sleep.
“I love these outfits!” Nami exclaimed to herself as she was browsing through all sorts of clothes. She sorted out the ones that she liked and bought them immediately. Pants, skirts, shirts, and shoes were what she bought.
/Man, I love this life! But 1, 500 berries for `em? Oh well./ She met up with Usopp.
“Hey, Usopp.” She greeted him.
“Hey, did you just buy clothes?” Usopp noticed that she carried a large bundle.
“Yeah, and shoes too! Isn't it great?” she squeaked right in his ear. Usopp cleaned his ears for a moment after the squeaking.
“Yeahh, sure.” He answered.
/Geez, does everyone expect me to answer them all the time? First it was Sanji, now her? Who will it be next, Zoro/ he thought. Then, just like that Zoro appeared in front of him.
“Usopp! You gotta help me. I saw this really cool sword, and I don't know where it went. Help me find it!” he smiled.
“AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” Usopp screamed as he ran away from everyone and headed into the deeper part of the town.
“What's up with him?” Zoro looked at him suspiciously as he ran.
“I dunno.” She said simply.
/What a weirdo./ she said in her mind.
“Will you be mine?”
“EWW, NO!”
slap
“Will YOU be mine?”
“NO!”
slap
“Will YOU be mine, please?”
“NEVER!”
“NOOOOOO, UUUSSSSSOOOOOOPPPPPP!” Sanji cried out and ran trying to zUsopp through swollen eyes.
/God, why? Why me/ Sanji thought as he ran towards the hill where the girl was “supposedly fast asleep.
“Hey, did you hear that wail?” Zoro asked Nami as they were looking for Luffy and the insane Usopp.
“Hmm…yeah, I think so. Sounded like Sanji. Heh.” She smirked.
/Did he ask more girls out AGAIN/ she questioned herself even though she knew she wouldn't get an answer right away.
“Right. Well, we'll get back to him after we get out captain and our marksman first.” Zoro said as he started heading where Usopp took off.
“But, I think the cook's more important. Besides, Luffy turns up whenever. Usopp'll come back after he gets sane again. So let's go find Sanji, kay?” Nami convinced the swordsman to come with her as they search for the playboy and his whereabouts.
“Sniffle sob whyy…..mee?” Sanji dried his tears as he stopped running. He searched for something and as he was searching, he caught sight of the girl sleeping.
“Ooohhh, what a babe!” hearts came in his eyes as he rushed towards her. As he was about to touch her, sharp blue eyes opened and her two swords criss-crossed swiftly as the cold blades of the swords were 1 centimeter away from his neck.
“One move and you're a goner.” She dangerously said.
So how was it? R and R! No flames, kk? See ya!
