Chapter III - Deception

After all of the maps had been taken down, Doctor rolled up them up gently and placed them inside of a pack to hand to Luffy with a faint smile on his face. “There you go, Luffy-san, I hope you can make better use of them than I would be able to just leaving them here to collect dust.”

 

“Thanks a lot, Doctor nee-san!” Luffy exclaimed with delight and took the pack, throwing it on his back and heading for the door, but he was stopped by the Doctor before he could get out. “Ara? Why are you not letting me go?”

 

“Because,” Doctor began, turning to the door that heads to where Jeran was resting after his fight with the Marines, “Is he not one of your nakama? I mean, if he has nowhere to go but back to the Marine prison, then why not just take him with you?”

 

Zoro decided to take that chance to chime in and speak his opinion to both Doctor and Luffy at the same time, “He is not one of our nakama, and I don't think that bringing him along would be a good idea…Luffy only saved him out of his own good judgment, but just inviting him with no reason is not in our best interest.”

 

A rather satisfied nod escaped Paulie after having listened to Zoro's statement about recruiting Jeran to the crew.

 

Heading towards the door, Doctor sighed slightly and started to open it, “At least let me go have a look at the patient before we go any further with this…His condition was pretty critical when you brought him, despite me being able to heal his wounds.” The door was opened and he walked inside to see Jeran sitting up and staring at him as he closed the door. “Good, you're awake…How are you feeling?”

 

“You know,” Jeran began, slowly shifting to his half-beast form and cracking his knuckles while his claws shone brightly in the sunlight, “I was in the Marine base for quite a while, and Terry and his partners had the genius idea to discuss the census of the Island when I was in there, so I know for a fact that there has been no doctor of any kind here for years.” He jumped to his feet quickly as Doctor came close to him, and his hands went around his throat, attempting to cut off his air circulation right away. “Who are you? And what do you want with me? I find it a little odd that a doctor of your age just suddenly appears to help a band of pirates and a criminal in a town full of Marines, so speak!”

 

A strained and surprised look formed on Doctor's face, but his hand came up and pierced through Jeran's flesh with his two index fingers, which caused the boy to retract his hands. Without wasting a second, he put his left foot on Jeran's chest and snapped in downward, sending a slash of blue energy coursing across him and knocking him backwards into the desk and breaking it into pieces. “If you must know, then I suppose it wouldn't be a good idea to try and crush my windpipe…but my name is Nadeisco, and I'm a member of a secret organization known as Cipher Pol 9.” Nadeisco's form vanished and he appeared behind Jeran, kicking him into the air and then knocking him back down with his forearm. “My colleagues and I have replaced Rob Lucchi and his former, pathetic band of Cipher Pol 9 Agents after their failure of killing Nico Robin and Cutty Flam as well as the other Straw Hat Pirates at Enies Lobby.”

 

“What's going on here!?” Luffy shouted, kicking the door down and seeing Jeran lying on the floor and Nadeisco with two bloodied fingers from where he pierced through the boy's wrist. “Doctor nee-san, what have you done here? Did you attack our wolf nakama!?”

 

With a scowl on his face, Nadeisco jumped into the air and started to spring off the air itself in order to get behind Luffy and throw a beam kick at him. “Stop calling me by that stupid “Doctor nee-san” name, you moronic monkey!” As soon as he landed, he turned around and blocked Zoro's Yubashiri with his bare hand, which was surrounded in a blue light. “Don't try and lump me in with those weak Marines that you managed to overpower, Roronoa, or else you'll find yourself dead a lot sooner than usual…”

 

How did he manage to block my sword with his hand!? Zoro leapt back from Nadeisco and saw a spot of blood on the sharp edge of his weapon; a smirk crossed his face due to that. “So you are still human no matter what kind of inhuman powers that you have like those other CP9 bastards.” He lifted up his Yubashiri and drew out Sandei Kitetsu before dashing to attack him again, although it would be short lived as his opponent vanished and appeared behind him.

 

“Not so fast!” Paulie cried out, throwing out his rope and binding the Agent tightly with it, wrapping it around his hand and attempting to pull him to the ground. Instead of taking him down, the Shipwright lifted him up into the air and pivoted on his right foot, turning and facing away from Nadeisco in order to take him down in a steep drop. “Oshioki: Ippon-Zuri!”

 

A straight razor was produced out of the heavy cloak that Nadeisco was wearing and cut through the ropes binding him before he dropped to the ground and landed swiftly, putting the blade away and propping up on his hands in order to unleash a series of blue beam kicks. “Rankyaku Senpuu!” All of the beams struck Paulie, Zoro, Luffy, and Jeran and brought them to the ground again.

 

Almost as soon as Luffy hit the ground, he was back up on his feet and stretching his arms back. “Gomu Gomu no Bazooka!” Those fierce palms fired forward and blasted Nadeisco in the gut, sending him flying back and completely out of the small Hospital. “Grab the wolf kid and let's get out of here! We can't leave him here with this bastard!”

“Luffy, are you serious!?” Zoro shouted in a half protest, but he would not be able to disobey his Captain's direct order, so he hoisted Jeran off of the ground and carried him off, running towards the Thousand Sunny with Paulie while the Pirate King stayed behind.

 

Paulie watched on as Luffy prepared to fight Nadeisco on his own, and he simply smirked, knowing that the boy would need no help at all in order to defeat such an opponent. “Take him down…”

 

“Soru!” In a flash of movement, the fake doctor emerged out of nowhere behind Luffy with his hands covered in the blue light as before. “I'll use my medical knowledge to strike all of your nerves and make you completely unable to move, Pirate King!” His hands shot forward to strike the rubber boy all over his body, and his hits all rang true.

 

A bewildered look formed on Luffy's face as he felt his body lock up on him, and as soon as Nadeisco was going to attack him, the crazed expression turned into one of arrogant confidence while he grabbed the doctor's wrist and punched him in the face, breaking his nose and bringing him to the ground. “That'll be enough out of you…I have somewhere important to be now, so I have to get out of here.”

 

“Hey!” Sanji peered over the edge of the deck railing and saw Paulie with Zoro, who appeared to be carrying a strange wolf-like boy on his shoulders. “The smoking Shipwright and the seaweed head are coming back to the ship, and Luffy is behind them!”

 

Nami suddenly snapped into attention and ran up to Chopper, “Weigh the anchor so we can get out of here! Franky! I want you to take the helm and get us out of here as soon as Luffy is on the ship!”

 

Both Chopper and Franky acknowledged her and started about on their duties that were given to them by Nami.

 

Two pairs of feet hit the deck of the Thousand Sunny as Paulie and Zoro landed, turning to face Luffy who was hot on their trail, but before he managed to get on, he was intercepted by the CP9 fighter again.

 

“I'm not going to let you escape so damn easily, Straw Hat!” Nadeisco shouted, using his Rankyaku to split open his flesh and send blood flying out. “Soru!” Vanishing again, he used the distraction and came upon Luffy quickly, thrusting his index finger out and piercing through his chest with the bullet strike. His assault was interrupted though, as a cannon ball was fired by Usopp and it struck the dock right behind him, forcing him to leap into the air so that he would not end up falling into the ocean. Damn it…They interfered with my orders to kill him!

 

A rope flew out as Paulie snagged Luffy and drug him on board right as soon as the large ship escaped from the dock and took to the sea again. “Take that, you damned Government dog!”

 

As Nadeisco sat on the edge of the destroyed dock, he was being watched over by three figures on three individual Marine battleships far from him.

 

“Kuragari is unable to fight, but the three of us will kill the Straw Hats at the sea…” Rick declared, folding his arms and looking back at the three mercenaries that worked for his crew with a wicked grin.

 

Hiruma stood on the bow of his ship and watched over the Thousand Sunny as their three ships gave chase to them. “I do this for you, Kuragari…as a matter of revenge…I will kill the Straw Hats.”

 

I will get my revenge on you…Monkey D. Luffy…Jeran Kedamono…You dared to put me to complete shame on my own home Island…Captain Terry immediately shifted to his Metal human form as the ships started moving closer to the Pirate King vessel. “I will kill them!”

 

Author's Notes: Allow me to translate some stuff for you guys if you do not know the meanings of the words.

Nee-san - Normally a word that means “Brother.”

Ara - A dumb word that Luffy says when he is confused…I'm not even sure what it means.

Oshioki: Ippon-Zuri - Punishment: Fishing

Rankyaku - Literally means “Storm Leg.”

Senpuu - Whirlwind

Soru - Literally means “To shave”, but I figure it would mean “To warp” because that's what it does.
